The Dog & Duck in Torbay

Was in the area and fancied a pint or three the drink was fine but didn’t do any food wick was very disappointing so we had to leave want be returning

Lovely pub. Very friendly member of staff. Comfortable seating. Very clean toilets. Reasonably priced drinks. Sky sports on TV.

I went here and found it hard to swallow as the only have one real ale on pump which one doom bar.. I was expecting it to be silmular to my local The buckeneer which has a couple of ales on pump and one of my favourites being proper job. I hate doom bar hence my review. The pub very bright and can be quite busy... I hope they one day sell proper job which is now one of the most popular ales in Devon.

Called in for a drink with my family looks nice from outside. The place seemed to cater for the locals all knowing one another. A very different class of people we would normally not wish to socialise with. The bar woman kept looking at the cameras like something was about to happen. We went for a nice social evening . The bar staff were not very friendly or welcoming. We Felt like an hinderance. When I’m paying I expect a better welcome and service not feel like I’m at a camera monitoring room We will go elsewhere much nicer places of this busy main road

One of the best and friendliest environments you will will ever experience!! The owner was first class , if ever you’re on holiday pop in and say hello. Definitely will visit next time we’re down.

Unfortunately our family was racially abused by a very kind ‘gentleman’ standing at the door of this pub.. “They let every f*cker in here now” was his greeting to us as we approached.,Not the best of welcomes.. So if you are of ‘colour’ you may wish to avoid this establishment.. There are plenty more pubs about that have a more inclusive clientele…

Popped into this pub on a recommendation from our coach driver. It's a friendly local pub, with good beer and a pool table.

We have just spent the weekend in Babbacombe and what a lovely time we had. We visited the Dog and Duck and what a lovely time we had. Thank you for making us so welcome. Just spent a week in lovely babbacoombe. The new landlord and landlady at the Dog and Duck were very friendly and welcoming. They even went so far to organise us a meal on our first evening even though they dont do food.

Visited Babbacombe at the weekend and so glad I found the Dog and Duck. The landlord and staff were friendly and chatty. Good few regulars help make the atmosphere and although I was on my own was not alienated. Good selection of beers must most of all a great pint of Carling at a reasonable price. I'm returning back to Babbacome in a few weeks and I will definitely make the Dog and Duck one of my first ports of call. Thanks again.

Nice, but only for a while. The service seemed nice at first but after a while we were treated like a nuisance. It wasn't pleasant. The beer selection was very small. The room should be renovated and the stench from the men's toilet removed (you could even smell it at the bar). I do not recommend.

Went in here just for a pint. Whilst the lady behind the bar was fine, the beer was bad and the surroundings were worse. Needs either a major refurbishment or knocking down.

On a road trip around the south and came across this little pub, after being from the northeast and chatting to a local guy at the bus stop he said.'there's a one of your lot works there' we called in for one and I can't say how welcome we were made to feel. Sam the local Geordie lass was a pleasure to meet as was the landlords.. call in if your in town.

This is a locals pub and is well run by very experienced landlord Keith. Nice pub and a friendly atmosphere.

Was out in Babbacombe with a friend and his dog and loking somewhere to sit and have a drink. Found most establishments were not dog friendly but were welcome at the Dog and Duck.The owners are dog lovers themselves and welcome anyone with a dog and go out of their way to make sure every is fine.

A proper pub just set off the downs at Babbacombe. Landlord and Landlady are fantastic fun and also know how to run their establishment. Guiness is always spot on and at a sensible price. Shows all sports if you are missing your team. Sun trap outside for the Summer days. Can't wait for our next visit.

Nice pool table and felt very cosy, people behind the bar were super friendly as well. Got the essential games too, pool and darts, with the sports going on when I went in

Went in got totally ignored at bar even tho a member of staff was there just chatting not actually serving ,after few mins waiting to be served we walked out in discussed .

Only popped in for a quick pint while waiting for my meal at a local takeaway.Had to wait awhile for my Doombar but only because the pump was lively,when it came it was nectar.Barstaff friendly.Will visit again as i'm local.

Friendly welcombe from Bet and Bill busy night with football on and karaoke. Great atmoshere and good drinks on offer. Large shot menu too. Worth a visit.

Llamamos como estábamos esperando el autobús y nos alojamos porque tiene un buen ambiente. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Tanto Sky y deportes de BT para ver deportes lo que de hecho lo hicimos. Volveríamos. No hay parking. Pero, para nosotros el autobús fue nuestro chofer.

nice pub, not expensive, no frills. Staff were friendly, although it was a bit quiet. We were there mid week though so perhaps not a surprise.

2nd night here now and we love it. Great, relaxed atmosphere. Drinks reasonable. Bar staff welcoming. Nice time had by all. Love the Karaoke.

Soy de Torquay local. Soy una madre que trabajan duro y hace una cerveza después del trabajo. Yo soy responsable, sensible y asegurar estoy controlado y competente en todo momento. Me llevé a mi padre (que estaba de visita por 3 días) y mi hijo de 2 años para una bebida antes de la cena. En este pub eran 3 personas que eran obreros regulares parando para una pinta después de trabajar y detrás del bar hay una señora que estaba claramente para un cotilleos y un escaso en el bar. Mi hijo está bien educados, controlados y supervisados en todo momento. canta, risas y juega todo el tiempo y mientras que en aquí entramos cantando pero no perjudicial cualquier cosa, molesto cualquiera de los 3 clientes o escalada, saltando, gritando o hacer otra cosa que serían considerados como antisociales pero chica detrás de la barra decidimos decirme "amor" para mantener mi hijo en la mesa. (Detesto ser llamado "amor" especialmente por una chica más jóvenes que yo). Siendo una madre soltera que estoy más que conscientes no hacen que cualquier perturbación o molestos a otros clientes. Esto me hizo sentir muy enfadado y me inmediatamente a la izquierda - nunca volver. Si tienes una familia o si tienes niños, ir a la discoteca. Agradable pub, buena pinta, el personal es amable y muy acogedor. Habiendo dirigido pubs durante los últimos 20 años, puedo decir que son absolutamente en posición de elegir a sus muy pocos clientes!!!!

El dueño del pub le permitió a mi esposo y a mi a ver el juego en la zona de la piscina, aunque el juego programado era la grande - hombre ciudad! Buena cerveza y buen ambiente. Sin duda lo recomiendo para Sky Sports. Gracias por una gran tarde.

No hay ninguna 'a' pubs de la zona. Así que es agradable para tomar una copa sin tener "la pared a los comensales la pared. Una buena selección de bebidas y probablemente el más barato de la zona. El personal del bar son acertadas.

Well managed and professionally run pub with good food and reasonable bar prices. Relatively small bar with added karaoke area and billiards nook. Brilliant karaoke system and compere and the regulars 'give it stick' with good support from the punters.Cosy and friendly atmosphere. Safe and comfortable. I will return.

the fact it was real ale and I was welcomed by the patrons who were ok in spite of one of them being a Leeds Utd supporter

it was a hot day just missed my bus ,so called into the dog and duck the staff were friendly the beer nice and cold,did not eat but had another drink they have tv for sport will pop in again,worth a visit.

One of few pubs to show the football. On the outside looks like a locals pub but once inside incredibly welcoming and warm to families. Service was great. Children made to feel welcome. Will definitely be back on our next visit.

I really liked this place, it was like going back in time! the only Karaoke I've been to & not known any of the songs! Staff were very nice, we had a good night in there.

The pub is a traditional old english pub, great atmosphere & great staff made you very welcome. Had a fantastic New Years eve & New Years day there...

Havent eaten here, however the pub is nice, although quite a locals pub and always shows a vast amount of sports.

I only go in to this pub when I am waiting for my fish and chips at Drakes.Its not the type of place I would take my wife to but its alright for the boys.

Sorry to say,this is not a good pub for an early evening drink,very rowdy

NOT a carvery this is probably the pub Sunday Lunch closest to home cooking that you'll find in the Bay, and at a very competetive price: Select your starter, main (meat) course AND homemade dessert all for under six pounds! They only do one sitting for Sunday Lunch, and are always booked solid, so you will need to book in advance.

Stayed at the guest house. Came down with a group of mates who are away fans to come and watch my team play torquay united. We drank in the Dog and Duck and must say the family owners made us feel very welcome. A great place to meet for away supporters.
