Absolutely outstanding brunch. Lovely place, very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic food. All nicely presented and very tasty!

Brilliant - the food, the service - the lot. We were served by people who care - Ben the owner, Candy and Lil. I have huge dietary problems and they couldn't have been more helpful - nothing was a problem. The huge salad i had was spot on and all things i can eat. Big thank you and we will certainly be returning. Oh yes, our dog Theo loved it too - especially the burgers. Name - Graham and Lynn Cullimore with Barbara and Mark Pickering.

Just as good as ever, wonderful atmosphere, great staff and very clean and tidy. Cakes are gorgeous and so is the rest of the food.

I just love this place. Seriously, it should have a full five stars on TA. If I could give it more than ten stars I would. It's so rare that you find somewhere as consistently excellent for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Lots of different breakfast dishes to try (all of them incredible), high quality, fresh ingredients, excellently prepared, and good value for money. These people are simply brilliant at what they do. The friendly welcoming staff are always wonderful, despite how busy the cafe always is. I'm in awe!

Lunch was OK, but service was poor and the place wasn’t very clean. Staff seemed uninterested and distracted, they couldn’t be bothered to come and take our order, though they did attend to other guests’ dogs, which seemed weird. Nice for the dogs though.

A lunchtime sandwich and coffee - both excellent. The sandwich was generously filled - goats cheese and pear - served with a well dressed salad I'm going back.

Walking the south west coast path we found this little gem in St Just for breakfast before a long day out. We arrived at 9am and were met with a lovely warm welcome, an and friendly chatty host. What I loved was the food though, I went for poached eggs on spinach and toast, it was superbly tasty. Tried a beetroot matcha drink, that was great too! There were clearly locals and regulars mixed with travellers and walkers a really great vibe.

Excellent place, great friendly service but not overbearing very genuine. Good selection and all food which came was delicious. Family with toddler and baby and very welcoming. Would come again highly recommend.

I took 4 friends here for breakfast. They were visiting from Wiltshire. The breakfasts we had were absolutely fantastic. The service was very good. Highly recommended

Reliably great food and service. Just coffees, with cakes or a full breakfast / brunch they are always generous, tasty and top quality. Flexible with menu changes. Empathetic and appropriate advice offered for specific dietary needs. Friendly efficient staff. Do book - they fill up most days and deservedly so but will always try to accommodate walk-ins. Entry up a few steps; level access to outside seating. Lovely wood-burner for colder days.

We dropped in here for breakfast ahead of a walk with the pooches. Staff super friendly and accommodating with dog biscuits as well! Great coffee and tasty sausage and egg baps, just delicious and set us up for a good day.

Grabbed a last minute coffee on the way home after a stay in the area. I'd been here before - pre-Covid - and it was as good now as it was then As it was a quick drop in I just had coffee - delicious and fairly priced - but the breakfasts passing by my table looked amazing Lots of choices on the menu, although I am a fan of choose your own breakfast items so the set breakfast offerings wouldn't suit me - that's just personal preference, and to be honest they food looked so good I would probably just ask for the parts I like and pay the full price. I will be back in the area very soon and will definitely be dropping in for more than a coffee Staff lovely, friendly and efficient. Tasty and filling vegan breakfast, lovely staff and atmosphere. Didn't much like the coffee though, too bitter for my taste and the oat milk curdled.

A fantastic find. We had a superb Welsh Rarebit, with the most wonderful side salad of full of nuts, pulses, seeds, pomegranate and so much more. Great coffee and cakes. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit .

The setting is delightful and the staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. All produce used is locally sourced, fresh, good quality. The breakfast is outstanding, never eaten better, served hot and fresh and at a very good price.

Just wanted bacon egg tomato. The bacon was like the soul of my shoe egg was solid on the toast. Four pieces of toast with hardly a sniff of butter. Seems they cater for the veggie brigade and forget the basics.

This cafe is amazing! We stopped for late breakfast and were delighted to find that breakfast is served until 12:30pm. We ordered a full Cornish and the Ali special (mushroom, avocado, egg and tomato goodness). It was so delicious. Lovely coffee and fantastic service too. Will be back next time we visit the area.

We popped in, as we always do when we visit Cornwall, for lunch. My friend and I both had the burgers which were served with lovely crunchy chips and a brilliant whole food salad. All washed down with a glass of wine. I also stocked up with a couple of bags of Yallah coffee beans. The service was first class too with lovely helpful staff. We will be back … Highly recommended

What an amazing find! Stumbled on it after seeing a café sign and well worth the visit. The atmosphere is welcoming and very friendly, bustling with a steady stream of customers. We had egg (double) and chips (£8.50each) and a pot of tea for two. Eggs were cooked nicely, chips were gorgeous and so many, teapot managed to give us 3 cups each, very generous. We were full by then but my husband liked the look of the bread pudding on the counter, so we took a very large slice of it home. All together a lovely meal, well cooked and I think a very reasonable price, can't wait to come again.

After visiting Sennen to find that everywhere was closed i drove to St Just and stumbled upon this lovely cafe, tucked away at the side of the PO. We visited St Just and came across this little gem. When we arrived it was busy and remained busy throughout our visit. Service was quick, helpful and the staff found the time to chat with us. The food was delicious we both had Rarebit with a really excellent salad. The salad was almost a meal in itself!! the Rarebit was very tasty. We were too full to eat cake there was an excellent selection so we took some away with us. Great coffee, all in all highly recommended.

What can I say…. The breakfast here was easily the best I’ve ever had in a cafe or hotel. Hot, buttery, plentiful. It’s a quirky place but go with it, it’s really great. Happy staff, chatty and observant, it makes all the difference to the experience of the customer. In this case fussy French/English combo 😍

We are down again in September and really looking forward to going to the Dog & Rabbit again, such a fun place to be and lovely atmosphere and the food is great.

We were gob-smacked to discover that our regular watering hole of the Cook-Book café had closed (what is there now is no substitute I'm afraid - it just doesn't have that je ne sais quoi). Fortunately a local in the craft centre next door pointed us towards the Dog and Rabbit set behind the post office. All is not lost in this small community as this small café is a worthy successor both in terms of the excellent coffee and good food they produce, so our trips in this area are saved!

Visited on a Saturday morning in summer, they were clearly very busy but found space for us on a table that had a booking in a little less than an hour; we were very happy with that. Full English and pot of tea ordered, tea was served in a pot with china cups, a lovely touch. The breakfast was the best breakfast I’ve had for a long while, every component was tasty, I am a meat eater through and through but could quite happily eat a veggie breakfast here as the hash brown, mushrooms, baked beans, eggs and tomatoes were absolutely delicious. The bacon and sausages were top quality and lovely too but I cannot get over how delicious every single mouthful was. Thank you dog and rabbit, we’ll definitely be back again!

This could not have been better! Vibrant atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Cornish breakfast was large, choice of sourdough, granary or white toast, everything cooked well and bacon that tasted so good. Coffee is from a roasters and was so good I had two large cups. I highly recommend here!

The best traditional cooked breakfast I have had. I went for the Small Cornish (see photo). Excellent sausage, bacon, fried egg. The grilled tomatoes were really good, and the perfectly cooked mushrooms were outstanding. Baked beans added a good balance and were perfect with the surprisingly good granary toast that came on a separate side plate, ready buttered and delicious. There was a hash brown as well, but nothing like the bog-standard oven ready type you often get. This was quite unique, and seasoned with something like cumin I think. My wife went for the Dog & Rarebit, and said it was really good too. It looked huge, with a large slice of rarebit toast along with piles of salad that included unexpected treats such as dried figs. According to the guy in the photo behind the coffee machine (did I mention - the coffee was superb too?), they've been there for 5 years, and it was running as a cafe for 5 years before that too. Just off the central square in the town, and there's free parking in the square as well as a larger free car park not far down the road to Cape Cornwall, including several spaces for disabled parking and some public toilets and a bus stop. We went at around 11am on a Monday, and it was pretty busy and quite a few tables had signs for being reserved for lunch. You might be lucky like us, but it could be worth booking ahead.

What a find! Looking for a late lunch in St Just after visiting Minack Theatre and Cape Cornwall; came across the Dog and Rarebit and had a fantastic lunch.

This is a fabulous cafe. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. There is a small courtyard outside or a lovely welcoming interior.
