The Dockyard is a large, pub style eatery with plenty of indoor seating, much of it on high stools. There is additional outdoor seating, which is not the most comfortable. I liked the giant tv screen and enjoyed watching some of the Olympics on it. There is an amazing selection of drinks on offer. My wife had the Chicken Caesar salad, whilst our daughter had the spicy Chicken and Haloumi burger. She thought that the chicken was a little on the dry side. I had the Memphis burger, which was very tasty but impossible to pick up due to its size. I wasn't a fan of the plastic basket with a strip of greaseproof paper on it. When you are cutting the food, it gets to the stage where you cannot tell whether you are eating food or paper. It would have been much better being served on the enamel dishes, shown on some pictures. Overall, a reasonable place with food and drink to match.

I have been here a few times, and whilst it can be expensive (over £10 for a pint of lager and half pint of Guinness) it is still a nice place to go, every now and then. The review concerns my visit, yesterday, when I had lunch, as well as drinks. I had the fish and chips and must say it is one of the best pub meals I have had. It was £15, so not cheap, but the portion of fish was huge, very well cooked, with light, crispy batter and soft, flaky fish. I was told that my meal would take an extra 5 minutes, as they were making sure the chips were cooked properly, and it was worth the wait. Big chunky chips, cooked brilliantly, and very tasty. In general, it is a nice place to go, and the staff have always been efficient and friendly and although not particularly cheap, I would say that you do get what you pay for.

Great range of beers and drinks at reasonable prices. Food is excellent, freshly prepared and great value. A lovely relaxed atmosphere.

First trip here with my son, got him the chicken tenders with fries, £12.....value for money? Well, a bit steep given not too many fries I'd say it was more of a kids meal portion , nevertheless the chicken was nice and nicely presented. Had a pint of Irish stout which was very nice. The staff, an unusual set up, served by a nice friendly guy at th bar but couldn't help noticing in the see through kitchen a lot of younger staff members play fighting and making a lot of noise maybe that's normal in here I don't know but just found that a bit odd . A lovely setting tho, brilliant tables and I'm sure it would be a lot more appealing in the summer when the sun's out to sit outside there. Would have given it 5 I think the chicken tenders and chips £8 would be more realistic but maybe it's just pricier being Salford quays. Wouldn't put anyone off going tho

If we are to play a part in the improvement of service in hospitality today, we should review the service we experience. My son, my wife, my grand daughter and me, thought The Dockyard would be a suitable place for us to enjoy a casual evening of food and refreshment. The assistant behind the bar, however chose to be obstructive and belligerent. ‘What is your table number, sorry, I’m not sure. I need your table number. It’s that one there, with the child sat there. I need the number. The table is three places from the bar. It’s there (pointing). I can’t see that far. (Other assistant intervienes) it’s table 10, I will take your order. The two younger girls bossed the service. The older girl with lighter brown hair was obstructive and contributed negatively to our experience.

We popped in for a drink and ended up having 4, or 5 maybe more! The staff where friendly and helpful and had a good range of drinks. They do food but we didn’t have anything to eat. It looked and smelt good though! They do student discount on some drinks so ask at the bar. Nice friendly atmosphere.

I ordreed a hot mains from the menu. The Chilli beef and Nacho was served cold with hard transparent shaped cheese on top that looked like it been sat there for ages. Hence, why the long wait for the food. My friend ordered a cider from the tap with food, none was available and it was like pulling teeth trying gather from the bar assistant what ciders were available. Didn't complain at time because we decided that the food/service couldn't get any better than that. The plus side, it was a sunny day and there was seating outside to enjoy the sun.

Visited here for lunch, but disappointing, the cheese,ham,pickle toasted sandwich with fries, was grim….. soggy bread, dried cheese and about 10 barely warm fries. Really disgusting.

I had an awesome time at this bar! The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a great vibe that added to my overall enjoyment of the place. When you're looking to have a good time, a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere can make all the difference.

Seven pounds for a pint of lager, Starapramen,,,,,nine pounds and fifty pence for a small bottle of Prosecco. You've got to be kidding.

We found this "pub" on a visit to Salford Quays. It's surrounded by chain restaurants and "trendy" bars, so it was good to discover what is really the modern version of a "proper pub" Located right in the heart of Media City. Excellent range of well kept beers and decent "fast food" type food Very busy on the 3 evenings we used it, with a youngish crowd. Not cheap for beers, but this is "trendy" Salford Quays !

Really disappointed, enjoyed a couple of beers here on a Saturday evening and planned to order food but the kitchen closed at 8.30pm!!!! The place looked full to me, people sat at every table, looked like the kitchen staff fancied an early night. Real shame, left and ate at another place where the kitchen was open. I was really enjoying it up to this point

I've eaten at dock yard numerous times , food has been good. Visited on Sunday the venue was quiet, ordered Sunday roast(beef) it arrived in good time no silly wait tines. But sadly the food was very disappointing, stuffing was the sort out of a paper container PAXO. Beef fatty not easy to cut. Yorkshire pud cold. Two roast potatoes. 14 pound down the pan.

Nipped in for a drink, looked warm, was nippy. The barman was accommodating of our none dairy requests. Does what is says on the tin. Reasonable price, reasonable experience

A big group of us came here following at the event at the BBC. Really good selection of beers, and a good vibe. Had one of their burgers and it really hit the spot.

Went in the Dockyard yesterday ahead of the super league grand final, was a great bar with a very good atmosphere, they was serving tacos outside too which was a great addition to the experience, very clean staff was very friendly too, would definitely visit again

I dropped in here for lunch on my way to a TV filming. I was quickly served at the bar. I opted for a spiced paneer flatbread and half a pint. The flatbread when it arrived was very thin, dry and hard. I couldn't eat most of it. The paneer and mango was tasty, but the wilted greens we're off putting. The beer was fresh and poured well. I'd come back for a drink, but skip the food next time as there are lots of other local options.

Nice ambience in the bar, although I was called “pal” by the barman severs times. Good to be avoided. Looks and tastes disgusting. Especially avoid the “hot dog” which has something vaguely resembling a sausage in it

Excellent bar. We stopped here for a quick drink. Lots of choice of beers and cider. Good prices. Lots of seating inside and outside. Friendly Place. Clean toilets. Close to the BBC studios and Blue Peter Garden. Also very close to the Trams.

Utter shock on the face of one of our group who bought the first and only round. HOW MUCH! Good pub grub. Very busy, everyone eating. I really enjoyed my lunch, pint of Deer Stalker Stout and The Pizza Burger.

Everything about the place is OK with the exception of the staff who are good. The menu and drink choices are decent. There is a range of spaces to sit and it’s a dog friendly pub so that’s a bonus.

Lovely location, situated in Media City...lots of seating in and outside, lovely atmosphere and mixed groups of people. This was our first time dining here and would say excellent quality and value for money. We ordered Hot Dog which came with fries, was proper sausage, had lots of sauce and plenty of onion, our other main was fish and chips served with tartare sauce and mushy peas. Service very efficient as the bar was busy, and plenty of condiments and staff lovely. Could have done with more napkins but who cares.Fantastic meal and we shall definitely return.

On entering The Dockyard the music was so loud, the screens were on silent but with subtitles (what is the point really?). An eclectic mix of 70’s rock, indie then 90’s dance! Strange!I waited at the bar for a good five minutes before being served, the barman was having a good old conversation with his friends and the chef. The barman was friendly enough. Ordered a couple of drinks, a beer and a soft drink. £6.50, not bad for Manchester area. Tables were very sticky and no beer mats.

Dockyard used to be a really reliable place for a nice drink and some decent food. Unfortunately, it seems to have declined considerably. On our last visit we experienced tables that weren’t cleared for our entire visit, despite being filled with glasses. They had certainly not seen a cloth in some time. The music was all over the place and whilst this is a subjective thing, it certainly wasn’t to our taste - lots of pop/R&B. The food, which previously had always been decent, was poor - bland and overcooked. The menu also appears to have been changed for the worse. The toilets were swarming with flies, covered in graffiti and general filthy. We left very disillusioned with a once decent bar which has clearly let its standards slip considerably.

When you are in Media city, this is a good place to go to for food and drink, with wooden table with trestles and is very handy indeed

It started off well and the bar staff were really friendly and the place itself fairly nice! However we waited 50 minutes for our quick bite! When it arrived the waiting guy was quite rude and when I asked for BBQ sauce, I was told it would be an additional £1! Perhaps worth mentioning next time a customer makes a purchase at the bar?

Thanks Dockyard fantastic live music, well worth a Thursday PM visit, plus fast friendly service. Hope these Thursday nights continue into 2020

Came in during the afternoon to catch up with friends and was consistently blanked by the bar staff trying to order drinks and food. I was waiting ages at the bar and decided to leave in the end. The bar staff need to be trained in good customer service.

We used to live at Media City and used to regularly go to Dockyard because we loved it. We went last night and decided to eat there because the food has previously always been really really good. Unfortunately last night we were left really disappointed, it just wasn’t like it used to be. Everything was tasteless and by the time it got to us it was cold. Also we ordered some of the small plates as starters, I specified we would have them as starters when ordering and they came after the main meal, which was a bit odd.

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat and a brew to warm up. Service was really quick. Had a very nice toastie and a brew. Had a chat with my friend before it got nosey and busy with Santa’s after their fun run.

Had a drink and a sandwich....nice enough but very cold place...lacks ambience for me ...quick service at the bar but can imagine it being a bit loud and crowded at night...nothing wrong but doubt we would visit again.

In the heart of Media City, at 3pm it was quiet (customer wise) but noisy (music wise). Whisky and soda plus a pint of Staropramen £8 - average city prices I suppose. Loos small for such a big place. OK but wouldn’t rush back.

With friends we popped in for an evening meal. The meals and drinks might be fantastic!, but we didn't' stay as the noise level was deafening - it was full of young people chatting and having fun. So if you are young, want to be seen and be seen having fun - this might be the place for you. If you want a quiet meal with friends - it's not - you'll be disappointed and have a sore throat in the morning.

..but that is not a rating that is allowed. Anyhow, been here a couple of times recently ...at weekends and both times found it enjoyably busy though service was variable with bar staff not bothering to check out who had arrived at the bar and when.

This was going to be a negative review however the service by the manager totally redeemed my experience.

Phillip at the bar gave me too service, a rude customer was not happy about being turned away for being too drunk. This happened next to me at the bar Phillip remained calm even though the abuse he was receiving was out of order

Popped in yesterday 4pm for a bite with mu other half, £21 for a salt beef sandwich and chicken caesar salad and soft drinks. Waited 30 mins for food , had to ask where it was at the bar and had been sat on passe for 5 min. Salt beef was stone cold , when I brought it back to bar staff, the two young chefs just shrugged and I was told it's meant to be cold ...no offer to heat it up for me. Asked for the salad dressing to be put in a separate dish , but was splurged all over the salad instead. No acknowledgement of the request from kitchen staff. Lastly the dressing tasted like honey and mustard , not caesar salad. Disappointing service , poor value for money , wont be ordering food there again.

We went for a meal enroute to concert in Manchester. There was 6 of us 4 ordered other meals myself and husband. Ordered Sunday roast when he ordered he was told no mash so said we would have more roast potatoes instead. The others got their meal we had to wait they had nearly finished and when we asked was told roasts took longer. When it came no potatoes at all just meat Yorkshire pudding and nearly raw veg. It was awful couldn't eat it. We was told when complained they had run out of potatoes.we was charged full price of £10 for not even half a meal. No one offered an alternative or seemed bothered and as we was in a rush by that time to get to the venue we didn't have time to push our compliant. I have emailed them twice with no reply. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Not a great deal I can say to be fair other than that I found this place to be very friendly, big enough to accommodate large numbers of people and a decent place to grab a beer and quick bite of comfy food. I arranged a meeting here with the intention it was to be informal and although England Rugby were playing, the venue was large enough that we could sit away from the screens and not be drowned out by the TV noise. We had something to eat which was simple food but very nice and well presented. The food was delivered to the table not too long after ordering either.

The Dockyard is one of the busiest pubs we have ever been in! We had a good meal. Quite a young crowd...younger than me anyways:) Fun place.

Delicious freshly cooked food. Some dishes can be pricey but definitely recommend the Sunday roast! Freshly cooked, so satisfying!

Went for a pre-dinner drink and sat outside enjoying the sunshine. Although it was late afternoon and fairly busy, we were served very quickly. Extensive choice of drinks and reasonably priced. My wife went to the ladies and came out immediately., Apparenr;y they were very dirty and smelt awful. Really let down what is essentially a very nice pub.

Had a few drinks and tried some of the small plare meals. We chose 5 dishes. 2 fries. Onion rings. Battered sausage and cauliflower bites. The only thing that was alright was the fries. The rest was overcooked and oozing in fat. The cauliflower bites were disgusting. On the menu it stated a chilli mayo which sounded nice but what came was heinz mayo sachets and ketchup.

The place gives off a really good vibe from the theme of the venue. The portions are really generous and taste great. Only let down is that I had the vegan breakfast but they gave me dairy butter for the toast.

This place is something different and out of the ordinary, with wooden benches and tables - now that is different from the rest.

Ordered 4 brunches one of which was Eggs Florentine without the sauce due to allergies. Mentioned twice about no sauce and the young man who took the order wrote it down and even went into the kitchen himself to tell the chef. 4 meals arrived and the Eggs Florentine had sauce on. It had to be sent back, 3 of us ate together and one of us ate on their own later when a replacement meal arrived. Not good service at all. The manager was informed and she did offer to refund which we refused as that wasn't the point. Just get it right in the first place.

We had drinks here, which were fine. Lots of outside space. Pretty rowdy on a Saturday teatime and staff were not very friendly.

A bunch of us went to the Dockyard for dinner and drinks. I had the BBQ ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone tender, and delicious! I would definitely recommend the Dockyard.

My pre theatre stop and decent beers at a variety of prices but mine was £3.95 a pint which I felt was fair. Enjoyed my fish and mushy pea sub roll with sweet potato chips. Recommended.

This is a nice bar in the area and is deservedly busy in the evenings. It’s large with lots of space and seating inside, plus lots of large tables and benches outside. For groups this is ideal. The range of drinks should suit everyone and there’s a good choice of more unique beers which frequently change. The staff are friendly and chatty and know the products well enough to be able to recommend drinks. Everywhere is clean including the toilets and the prices are reasonable; great place!

Staff are inattentive, waited my turn and was clearly ignored. No please or thank you and when I asked the guy where his manners were he shrugged and walked off. Supervisor was not interested. Disgusting customer service! Had to select 1 star to submit but don't deserve that

Spinningfields is the dockyard we used a lot previously and occasionally the one near first Street. This was our first ever visit to the one at Salford Quays and we love this one as well.

Wouldn’t even give this place a star . Staff rude and ignorant of the people to serve even when we passed on the offer to allow someone waiting g before us he then ignored us and served one one who walked in less than a minute . Abysmal service avoid the place

We had lunch today. It was very well priced & the service was great! The staff member who served me was lovely. Coors light on tap is always a bonus! I had nachos & my partner had a holloumi wrap- both delicious

Popped in today for an early lunch before an appointment at the Beeb. I was seriously impressed by the scampi- it was very tasty and really quite filling. Staff were very polite and attentive too.

Love this place but was disappointed with my meal this time. Ordered “pig in a pen” as I’ve had it before and it was lush. They had run out of mash and offered fries as an alternative which made a nice change but the pig and the gravy let it down. The pig was very fatty which meant there was very little meat and what meat there was hard to get at.

Decor inside very appealing and rustic. Plenty of outside dining available. Order and pay at the bar. A lovely sunny day and so we chose to eat outside. Pints of beer/lager from about £3.65 up to £5.50 so quite pricey at the top end but I guess it is city prices. No hot dogs available much to our daughter's disappointment. Food ordered was a Memphis Burger (single) £10, very tasty. Half rack of ribs £9, tasty...Southern Fried Tofu Bites £6 a bit bland, Halloumi Flatbread...was expecting a proper flatbread but was just a wrap but quite tasty. Ordered a side of slaw which was very nice but waiter failed to advise that as this was the last portion, there was no slaw with the rib meal and so we had to ask about it.

.. with the beer range yesterday. Yes, it is summer but do all the beers have to be session, bland pale beers ? They were happy to offer tasters & it was only at the 4th that we found something we'd regard as "tasty". No darks on either.

A great place to sit outside in the sunshine at Salford Quays. Good selection of craft / draft beers and wide choice of food. The burgers we ordered took so long to arrive that the waiter chased them up for us. The food was okay for a quick bite while enjoying a beer but don't expect too much from it.

I popped in here for a drink, as it was very close to Media City. I was served very quickly, but was not impressed with the female server who when I asked for a slice of lemon in my drink she picked one up with her fingers and dropped it on the bar, she then picked up another one again with her fingers and popped it into my drink. It was a very busy place. There is outside seating.

If you are visiting Media City the Dockyard is a great pub to drop in to for a drink or lunch. A fine selection of craft beers and good pub grub. If the sun is shining you can sit out on the lawns and there is sometimes a pop up bar,

Quick burger and beer here, took quite a while to come and very basic for the price, but does a job. Should be about a fiver for the burger and chips.

The Dockyard was recommended to us and we were not disappointed! Firstly, we went for a drink - in the sunshine - and I was impressed by the friendly staff and the Real Ale! The following day we returned, with friends, for lunch and, once again, was impressed by the staff and Real Ale. The food was acceptable, if uninspiring.

Waited 40 minutes as we were informed " the salad ordered takes time to prepare" - really ?? . Waited patiently thinking it will be delicious. NOPE - absolutely vile, Goats cheese balls with stale 'leftovers' taste, some limp unwashed salad leaves out of a bag, a few thinly sliced beetroot - I literally laughed and gave it them back £9 for garbage. My friends had chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, these arrived cold and the chicken was poor. Complained and got refund. Go to PREZZO if you're on a budget, look for the 2 for 1 voucher code - bargain and consistently edible. Also, I do wonder if the beer pumps are cleaned thoroughly at this DockYard place.
