Stumbled across this lovely pub/restaurant on bank holiday Monday. Modern yet traditional decor and menu. We sat outside as the weather was so lovely. There were table both in the shade and in the sun so a great spot. Lovely food and fantastic deserts. Very friendly staff who were most helpful. Dog friendly as well.

Volver a usar genial Eccleston!

Lovely piping hot fish and chips with mushy peas were enjoyed by my friend and I in comfortable and spacious dining room. We opted for the 'smaller' serving which was more than enough. My only criticism was the meal was served in a basket and we would have preferred on a plate and although bread was included we would have preferred brown bread or at least the option.

Cleveleys has been a favorite day out location for myself and my wife since the Covid lockdown ended in 2020. With overseas holidays severely restricted we just jumped in the car and headed to the coast and Cleveleys was on the list. 6 miles from Blackpool it does not appear to be swamped with tourists but has fantastic beaches and relatively new promenade which is brilliant for walking, cycling, great for kids on bikes & scooters etc. You can walk to Blackpool in about 2 hrs and also to Fleetwood same distance with excellent promenades to both destinations, both excellent walks and trams available to bring you back to Cleveleys. Cleveleys itself is a busy town with plenty of eating places, pubs & bars, cheap & mid range with tourist shops, M&S express etc this is not a stylish place with great nightlife and high end bars etc but it is a great old style seaside town, great for young kids who want sand, sea, plenty of open spaces for games and chips!. There are plenty of cheap places to eat, plenty of takeaways, try Bean's Bakery for pies, cakes etc brilliant old fashioned tasty foods!. Overall, Cleveleys is a great place for a day trip or holidays for young families not wanting the noise & cost of Blackpool, its close enough to visit if you want. Love it!!!

Visited today (10.03.25) at 14.30. We have been to Th'Owd Tithe Barn quite number of times over the last few years, we've noticed it gradually "going downhill" with regard to the food - the quality is getting poorer, the quantity is getting less, but the prices keep going up ! Today, on the way back from Lancaster we decided to try it again - it was a nice sunny day & it's in a sheltered location beside the Marina, so we decided to soak up a bit of sun with a beer & have a meal - hoping the food had improved since our last visit. I went to the bar & got a couple of beers, & asked when they were doing food up to. I was told by the lady serving me - "no problem, last orders for food at 8pm". We sat outside, happily relaxing in the sun - went back to the bar to order food just after 3pm & was told - "sorry, the kitchen is closed, we only have one chef on early in the week". I explained that we'd been told that we could order until 8pm & that it would have been helpful if we'd been told that the kitchen would be closed for an hour or more from 3pm -- not even an apology for the misinformation ! It might seem that I'm being overly critical here, but I have a medical condition that requires that I eat regularly - at (pretty) set times - it's not actually that unusual a condition" -- If we'd been told when we first arrived that the kitchen would be closed within the next 1/2 hour we'd have ordered immediately -- or gone somewhere else ! We'll probably call in again for a beer (if we're allowed after this review !) - but certainly won't bother with food again !
