Unfortunately we did not see the sign that said take a seat and someone would be with you shortly. We asked the girl behind the counter for a coffee and a tea, she took the order and we showed her where we would be sitting, informing us she would come over and take the order. Another man came in went straight to the counter and ordered food and drink and went and sat down. So my husband went up to the counter and asked for a bacon and sausage sandwich to be told .... "I can't do everything at once, I'm making you coffee and tea" and threw her hands up in the air. She was so rude, I could not believe she spoke to a customer that way. I work in customer service and I would have been sacked for speaking to a customer that way on the spot. It was not busy and she was certainly not run off her feet. Lesson in customer service 1 Hello how can I help you 2 Please take a seat and I will be with shortly 3 Go to table and take the order and smile!! and say "I will make your drinks and you food order will be with you shortly 4 Upsell - ask the customer if there is anything else I can help you with Positive .... the sandwich was lovely.

Just popped by for coffee & cake. Young girls seem to be running the place. They were friendly while we made decisions regarding what cakes to have. The coffee was good & we shared a large bakewell & teacake. Both very nice.

This cafe is upstairs at The Den, which is itself worth seeking out, being a large warren of retro/unusual/antique items you could spend hours browsing. The cafe serves what I would class as traditional British cafe fare, with delicious-looking cakes, sandwiches, baked potatoes, etc, plus a small selection of hot specials and an all-day breakfast menu. We had baked potatoes, pot of tea and cappucino. All were delicious. There were veggy/vegan and G/F options. The two people serving were friendly and chatty. The Den itself is tucked away a little bit in a site of commercial units (I'll put the website somewhere in the review) and has dedicated parking.

We've been meeting up monthly there for a good few months for something to eat. It's got a good menu and the food is. OK Recently we've come across a middle aged bloke working there who is rude and sarcastic so we'll find somewhere else in Charminster to meet up.

Home cooked food from breakfast to tea time. Beautifully presented & nothing is too much trouble.

Just great to be out, somewhere different. Clean, tidy. Friendly staff. Does what it says on the tin. Now I'm going to tuck into my waffle and icecream.
