Good value,home cooked food. We felt very safe with all the covid precautions and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Just been for Sunday Lunch at The Delme. The food was excellent as was the service and the friendly staff. Excellent safety procedure for COVID as well, felt very safe. 10/10. Well done to you all.

I came in here for the first time only recently with my friends due to the “pub of the year” title and it was fantastic! Light atmosphere, food was delicious and the staff were all so lovely and friendly! On top of that, they even follow social distancing regulations. I recommend the lasagne it’s probably one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. Can’t wait to go back, definitely recommend

Awful. Only positive is the price of food and drinks.- No social distancing, pub cleanliness is terrible- Food is inedible in some cases - avoid the burgers- No care for food allergies taken - meal was sent back twice and main course swapped- Flies swarming round as we tried to eatStay away - how this achieved pub of the year is beyond me.

Even though table had been accidentally double booked , staff did everything to ensure that we were seated in no time. Food was excellent , White bait, Monster burger , Lasagne, chips etc.etc. Although we waited a bit for desserts -Super sundaes , they were fantastic(Due to the wait -they reduced the bill!) Staff were excellent , under pressure and never stopped working . We will definitely be eating again at the Delme ArmsThank you!!

Visited with three friends for a working lunch and we were screamed at by the landlady as we went to sit on the wrong table - not the greatest sin. Several flies circling the room, unpleasant atmosphere - we popped over the road and went to Cams Mill instead..

You know how you always hope that your local stays local and doesn't change, well, covid 19 changed the Delme arms. It was always an amazing place, the food is brilliant, the alcohol is very reasonably priced, the staff are polite and pleasant. But, now its utterly utterly awesome.The food is even better (big ups for Adrian ) Neil runs the perfect pub, the staff make it an absolute delight, its a real let down when I have to go home!I don't know how they keep it up but am very glad they do.

In the post COVID world we live in the Delaney has it sorted. Met by the owner, temperature taken, hands scrubbed, not a problem, there is nothing to dislike about this place, it is immaculate inside, the staff are polite, smart and helpful, great ale choice and the menu is very good. I cannot recommend it enough, we will definitely return again and again. It is indecently owned and what a bonus that is, well done all at the Delme

I love this place! The food is to die for, the staff are excellent and the chefs come out every now and then to receive hard times, I've never heard any, I love it, the atmosphere is like cheers, everyone knows your name just like a pub should be. Have i said how much I love it?

Visiedt Saturday evening had the Fish and Chips lovely, meal very nice staff very kind been here many times always good food special thanks to Ruby, Adrian, Neil, Sarah , Kate Holly, Sophie and Jake just had the Fish and Chips again tonight cooked by Jake again Excellent, Need to put on Weight after Cancer has returned I am confident that getting my weight back will be easy and with Neil and his very kind and helpful Staff very enjoyable Curry Next!!!

My partner and I eat here every Sunday and sometimes during the week. Today's meal was so very disappointing, firstly I had no roast potatoes with my meal, they arrived after I mentioned it to a member of staff. Secondly, I had roast lamb which was no more than fat and grisel, I could not even cut it so left it. Again mentioned to member of staff who would speak to the chef. Absolutely no feedback from her. Plus did we have to listen to radio/TV adverts whilst trying to have a quiet meal.

Nice little place with plenty of comfortable seating. Welcoming bar staff. Reasonably priced drinks. Parking is limited.

Had a wake here for my lovely mum, staff and food wonderful, at such difficult time, staff couldn't have been kinder even though we arrive early it wasn't a problem, 5 veggies in are group well catered , for food was so good very reasonably priced and good variety. Thank Delme Arms

Booked table this morning. Arrived few minutes early. No table ready. Eventually gave up and left after being offered a table with very low chairs. To be told they had a booking for 30 people in half an hour that afternoon.Why take my booking if they could not seat us???!!!!

Visited for a meal with 8 others for a birthday. We were seated in the side room where it was a little quieter but still lots of atmosphere. Food and drinks were lovely, especially the lasagne, steak and fish & chips. Staff were attentive but not in your face and very helpful.Would definitely recommend for this type of event.

Decided we would try the Delme arms on sunday for a roast after reading reviews, not what I was expecting the vegetables were hard and inedible,the potatoes were over cooked in fact one on my plate was black although the lamb was amazing thats about all I can say really....wont be returning...

Popped in today after a walk around Cams, for lunch and we were pleasant surprised by this little pub. We had baguettes and jacket which were all very nice.The staff member was very pleasant and helpful and there was a real fire roaring in the great.Really nice cosy clean little pub.Thank you

Food - big portions. Cook quite well, but I think the veggies were done for people with badly fitting dentures.

First time we have been here for lunch and it won't be the last time. Lunch served quickly, very friendly staff and the atmosphere was very good.

Quick lunch was well cooked and served quickly good quality and quantity staff was good and happy, we will be returning for the evening meals.

I was really impressed and very happy with the pub, food, staff and atmosphere, it made what could of been a not very nice occasion very pleasant. Everyone who attended were also very impressed. Thank you so much.

There were fifteen of us so we had pre-ordered. The food arrived in good order and nobody was left waiting for their food. I had a small fish and chips and my wife had a jacket potato with a cheese and coleslaw filling. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we ate all of it!

Came to a pub with family for lunch, lovely food and good service however no baby change facilities, had to change baby out in my car which was a real let down.

This is a great little bar/restaurant which is obviously well supported and is well worth finding. Not the easiest place to find, but time taken is time well spent.

This pub offers decent food at a very reasonable price. Offers during the week make it very affordable. Yes there are TV's to accommodate the sport loving customer, and opportunities to enjoy live music on a regular basis, but this then appeals to all tastes. Sunday lunches are filling and larger parties are accommodated for. All in all a good place to visit.

We booked a double room in the Delme Arms at the last minute when arriving to attend the wake of a dear friend. We were booked into room 2 (family room with a double & single bed) which we found basic but very comfatble and ample for our needs. The bed was very comfy and we had a good nights sleep. There was a TV and coffee / tea making facilities supplied, the on-suite was cold and could have done with a radiator located in the on-suite area. The blind on the sky light could have been a black out blind as we found the the morning light shone into the room early in the morning.

How often are you disappointed when you go back to a place you previously enjoyed - too often? Then you need to go to the Seller Arms, but be prepared to discover others have got there before you. This is another but increasingly rare example of a proper English pub that sells quality real ale and in addition sells good food at reasonable, in fact, given today's prices, could say cheap prices. I look forward to my next visit - soon.

No wonder they have won the award again this year with Adrian the chef cooking and creating such wonderful dishes. This was a fish special we had the other day.

Excellent breakfast.Very efficient staff. We went out for a Church meal.Good atmosphere. The breakfasts were delicious. Meals were served quickly.

Well situated for drivers, or walkers ( adjacent to South Coast Path) Not a big pub, but very welcoming with an adequate a very reasonably priced menu, plus a choice of beers, wins AND ciders, all at sensible prices. Very comfortablee with great service

My wife and I visited the Delme Arms for a lunchtime meal recently. The food is fairly good value, being 10 pounds for two meals, but the quality of the steak pie was rather mediocre in our opinion, and my pint of Doombar ale was a little too warm. That aside, the pub has a lovely atmosphere, and the landlord and his staff are very welcoming, so I would definitely use the Delme again.

Excellent value. Came as a group. All meals came out together. Staff friendly. Pub clean. Recommended.

Went in as passing, pleasantly surprised how popular the pub was we ordered the” Thai fish cakes and tempura prawns” to share, very tasty and more than enough as a sharer. Then ordered 12oz burger with chunky chips and salad with a pint of Heineken all for £10 each, very nice and tasty service great toilets clean friendly staff we will be visiting again.

After completing the Great South Run in Portsmouth we were starving! Everywhere busy in the city so made our way to Fareham and came across the Delme Arms by accident, but what a find! Good friendly welcome at the bar and assurance that the Sunday roast would be the quickest for our ravenous appetites. We had a reasonable wait for our food but when it arrived wow, what a welcome sight. If you’re looking for a traditional pub Sunday roast then you won’t go too wrong here. Plenty of meat, roast potatoes & parsnips, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, leeks, swede and Yorkshire pudding. If only apple sauce had been served with my roast pork then it would have been perfect, had I known that it wasn’t then I wouldn’t have ordered it. I don’t mean to sound ungracious but roast pork without apple sauce is like Ant without Dec!

Pub itself is ok. Random chairs attached to random tables. Prebooked a table. When we arrived it was dead just guys drinking.

Our little group of pensioners takes advantage of the Delme's two lunches for £10 offer every couple of months. Excellent value for simple but tasty food. Good pint of Doombar too, all served by friendly staff.

Good pub but the quiz has got very slow recently, which is a shame as it used to be really good fun.

It has been some considerable years since my Visit to the Delme arms I found it had changed considerably over the years my wife & I phoned in advance to make sure we could get a booking but found on arrival the table had been booked in the wrong name however it was finally resolved in a short period of time. We asked for two Sunday Roasts & asked the duty staff for a listing of the vegetables being provided requested no parsnips, & for no broccoli if possible to be replaced with peas or cabbage

Rubbish. Booked a table for four, turned up early and had a drink in the bar. Then, on time, went through to the eating area and confirmed we were here for our reservation. Waited 20 minutes but wasn't even acknowledged, despite the two bar staff members stood at the bar eating.

Ate here one lunchtime with the family. The sun was shining so we ate in the garden. Pretty good menu with the added bonus of two meals for a tenner. Ordered at the bar and soon after our meals came out. Overall we were all satisfied with good quality, honest pub grub. Staff were all friendly.

Have driven past for several years so decided to go for Sunday lunch. What a gem, food was absolutely lovely and beautifully fresh. Staff very friendly, so would definitely recommend.

Got soaked on arrival as it was raining heavily & the guttering was leaking like a waterfall over the entrance! A leak appeared through the ceiling in the restaurant whilst we were eating. The chairs are badly stained which is off-putting, not noticed on a previous visit when all seats were taken! A ceiling light was flashing & had been on my previous visit! I think the Delme Arms is in need of some TLC

Amazing fish special Adrian never fails with his creativity and mouthwatering Dishes. Every time is slightly different And I challenge you to give the Delme a try might be advisable to book so not to be disappointed.

This is a really good pub - I held my 60th Birthday Party here and they did us proud - the food was excellent all fresh a really good selection, the owners are very flexible and are very happy for you to arrange your own do, how you want it. The staff are all very helpful and cheerful a great party was had. We have also been down since the party for Sunday Lunch - Wow a really good Roast dinner - we had seven different vegetables on our plate in addition to the roast Pork all of it was served hot and home cooked to perfection I indulged in the bread pudding for afters - which was on the specials board - a huge piece of pudding lashings of cream and beautifully made - I feel like I don't need to eat for a week after Sunday lunch at the Delme. There is always a great selection of real ales kept well and very reasonably priced. If you are looking for good food good ales and value for money go no further than the Delme arms - Parking right outside or if you fancy a bit of a drink there is a bus stop about 100 yards away from the pub door number 3 or X4 every ten minutes [Weekdays] from Fareham or Portsmouth

Very small & friendly pub with the most delicious meals & fantastic portions for a friendly old pub. Excellent in ever way, Food ordered comes within a nice time, plenty of it , excellently cooked & presented. Large portions. Prices are great too. Well worth a visit.

I visited the Delme with my wife and parents on Monday. A nice varied menu was on offer and the food when it arrived was delicious and extremely good value. Highly recommended.

If you like your pick of ales and ciders and pretty much any oddly named drink this free house is the place. Not only that, the staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is tasty good value. There’s a sunny beer garden, sports bar and quieter dining room. Only down side is the decor, seating and spot lighting in the dining room. Lacks character. Other than that it’s got everything you need in a pub.

we visited this pub based on recommendations and were not disappointed. we liked the fact we could order off the main menu as well as order Sunday roasts.

Popped in with some friends after a walk today and was very impressed with the quality and the food and drink. The steak and stilton sandwich was delicious, ample sized and great value. Friends also had sandwiches which were equally as good, husband had Irish stew which was excellent and the choice of beer and cider was also fab. Will definitely go back again.

We had our staff Christmas meal on tuesday. Excellent home cooked roast turkey dinner. Best Christmas meal ever. Great service,great food we were a party of 18 would highly recommend will definitely book again.

Had a very nice meal on a Monday, not too busy. Staff were friendly & helpful with the menu. Meals came in nice rime, not hurried or waiting too long between. Ample amounts on the plates, delicious salad. Chef knows his stuff, presentation excellent. The ooh's & argh's told the story. All 3 courses were a delight.

Recently moved to the area and was told about this place by a work colleague. Visited with my family and had a lovely lunch. Huge selection of real ales and ciders along with all the usual choices in other high street pubs. Food was fantastic. Large portions that were delicious and very reasonably priced.

This pub has something for everyone, great food at good prices, a great selection not only of real ale but ciders as well good friendl staff and has live entertainment and also shows all live sport,i also have work colleagues that stay in the rooms at the pub and they highly rate the Delme as a whole.

Went there today to watch footy. The only reason to go there. Waited 10 minutes to get served whilst the one bar maid took an age to serve one customer. Not a word of 'I'll be with you in a minute'. Rubbish

Went for the first time last night and what a great little pub this is, the food was amazing just what pub grub should be, the bar staff were wonderful, and the live entertainment brilliant, highly recommend this pub ,will definitely go back again

Ate here on two successive nights - the menu offers a wide choice of meals, all reasonably priced. Quality of the food was superb and they have a selection of well kept real ales too.

Went here for a meal with friends, and have to say it was excellent, good size portions and exceptional value. Had to wait a while for the food to come out, but as there were quite a few of us, it wasn't surprising. The staff were lovely, very friendly and efficient. My only negative would be that when we wanted to order dessert, we were told the kitchen was closed. At 8:30??? A few disappointments there then!!

Warm welcome and food was delicious.My sister had jacket potato and tuna and mayo and I had prawn sandwich they were lovely.We went to pay for it and it was two for £10 I think it was lunchtimes only but well worth a visit. Small quiet and lovely food.

Rough people populate the bar and garden ruining the atmosphere. Beer is flat or they will serve you one from the bottle. Rowdy manual workers leave you on edge. A real shame as a nice garden but a local crowd that and poor beer and these are just facts. Take your chances. A real shame- but this is what happens with the British hospitality industry.

We come to the delme to eat at least twice a week.The food never dissapoints us.The price is always reasonable for the quality and quantity . Not just ordinary pub grub although they have it available on the standard menu and at 2 for £10 lunch time weekdays you cant go wrong .

Used to visit all the time for Sunday lunch and it would be busy with excellent food . Just visited The Sunday lunch was appalling pork tough, roast potatoes black veg hard as a rock . no crackling with pork like there used to be . The pub was dead which it never used to be has the cook or management changed I wonder

Was told on the phone in no uncertain terms 'we're NOT reserving tables, it'll be too busy'. Fine. We'll go somewhere else. If you'd bothered suggesting a good time to come to get a table or anything helpful really we might have made the effort. Since you couldn't, neither can we.

HiSadly I recently had to arrange a wake for my late darling wife. I had known the Delme Arms for some time but hadn't used it in a while as it had become a little drab. I knew it had been refurbished recently so I visited to have a look. Long story cut short I booked the Delme after a chat with Neil the manager and it was everything he promised. The buffet was exceptional, plentiful and very well priced and the venue is light and airy ideal I would suggest for any kind of occasion. Thank you to Neil and his dedicated team.

We were stuck in a traffic jam when the board outside advertising 2 meals for 10 pounds. Me, being a skinflint, pulled in. Received a very warm welcome. I had fish and chips, and my wife had scampi and chips. Food was really hot - makes a change from the lukewarm offerings we get from Spooner pubs. Chips really chunky, fish batter crispy, and a lovely side salad. Drinks are normal pub prices. I only drink soft drinks and I didn't get a glass full of ice! Most places seem to fill the glass with ice to cut down the amount of drink actually served, but not here. Overall very good value. They may only have been the smaller portions for the promotion but it was still a big plateful which was more than enough.

Very busy, but friendly staff. Good home cooked meals, the Sunday roast was very filling, deserts great, if you had room for them. Free parking, excellent service. Spent Mother's Day there. Would recommend.

The buffet was fantastic, lots of choice and freshly cooked. Everyone loved the mini Cornish pasties. Very good value for money. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had the room after the Rugby yesterday and the staff cleared the room and prepared the area in lightening speed. Special thanks to Claire who has helped us plan this event for several months and it was fantastic getting together with family and friends to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. We have had several meals here and the standard never disappoints. The portions are very substantial. A great place for a party. All of our guests were very impressed. Thanks for making this such a lovely evening

its was awake for my dad ,Neil the owner was great price cheaper than the others in Portchester and he said a fix price and promise if food run out would keep bring more out and true to his word for 4 hours the food was refill all the time from sandwiches ,sticky chicken on sticks , mini pizzas, rolls ,crisps tea and coffee

isted this pub few months ago had asunday lunch which came all served on a plate .pipping hot with good selection of veg.so went this sunday feb 12th. with my family for a treat. FIRST of all no starters to be ordered its just sunday lunch tii 2.30pm. so we bought crisps and nuts. When the meals arrived just warm we all had HALF a yorkshire pudding each because they had run out at 2pm.The roast potatoes were black i mean black why the chief let these meals leave the kitchen i dont know? after complaining we were given a free sweet but thats not we went for. There could be a change of how meals are served or perhaps new chef now .

This is our local and the food is normally very good and we have had several meals here but not sure what was wrong when we visited last month but our meal was not good. Having had the fish previously when it was clearly fresh and home cooked we ordered this again to get a small piece of fish which clearly had come out of a supermarket box batter very thin and fish was tastless, I hope this was just a blip as it has put us off eating here again! My advice check food is fresh not frozen when you order the fish.

An excellent choice for a wake after my Aunt's funeral yesterday, the buffet was delicious, with plenty of choice and all home cooked, sausage rolls, battered king prawns, coronation chicken rolls all very good, in fact will be having lunch there tomorrow if possible!

I had telephoned to reserve a table for eight as this was to be our special Christmas Lunch and one of the few times we could get together.When booking I informed them that my 91 year old mother was quite disabled. The staff member advised me to take the garden entrance as there was only one step. However on arrival we were confronted with three steep narrow steps to the restaurant. The member of staff was helpful getting my mother up the stairs and advised that if we used the front door when we left they could provide a ramp.On asking for a menu we were verbally told it was Pork, Lamb or Beef and Nut Roast for the vegetarians. However the waitress soon returned to advise there were no Nut Roasts and no alternatives. As the two vegetarians in our party had travelled ninety miles to be there this was very distressing. They were provided with a plate of vegetables and Yorkshire Pudding. However when you have booked a table for 12.15.p.m. you do expect the vegetarian option to be available.The roast dinners were O.K. but it would have been nice to see a menu to get details of each dish rather than a one word description.When we came to leave we asked the member of staff if we could leave by the front door with the ramp only to be told they could not find it.My mother is in a care home so when she has the opportunity to have lunch with members of the family she rarely sees, she looks forward to the occasion. This experience was disappointing from the beginning to the end and we shall find an alternative venue on the next occasion.

7 of us came for lunch - burgers were excellent (home made), chips were great, very reasonably priced. Good range of beers/ales on tap. Vastly superior to other very nearby establishments in every way.
