We popped in today after a walk around the nearby park for Mother’s Day. The selection is only ‘to go’ due to ongoing pandemic but food - all freshly prepared to order - was well priced and delicious. No complaints. It would be nice to come back and eat in once life returns to normal.

Pretty good, well mostly good, but a couple of disappointing visits. Would love to love it a bit more with it being a local business. Positives ... great for family, have boxes of toys for entertainment, friendly staff, nice cheese deli too. Not so positive... very disappointed with the lack of cheese on a jacket potato some time ago. I asked for some more (and would’ve been happy to have paid for it) but instead the chef came and told me that the reason I hadn’t seen the cheese was because it was underneath the beans. There really wasn’t very much there and would’ve preferred to have just been asked to pay for some more cheese or pay a bit more to get a reasonable amount

We preordered before we arrived and all food was ready for us when we got there! We all enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be returning soon!

On our way to a wedding and didn't want to be early and saw the Delicatessen and thought we would try it, it was a good decision the coffee was good the bacon sandwich was spot on the place was small but clean it was warm and it got very busy. We have never been in this neck of the woods before but if we were to return we would pay the Delicatessen another visit

Staff welcoming and helpful with quick excellent service even when busy and the breakfast is tasty and filling and good value.

Lovely little place but God help you if you have a question/request or a problem! Felt like I was back at school. Won't be returning, I thought they'd go out their way to help returning regular customers, how wrong was I.

I really like this place and the owners (who I can see take a lot of time and effort into this). I have been a little disappointed on a couple of occasions...I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans and there was so little cheese (about a teaspoon) that I asked for a bit more. The 'chef' came out of the kitchen to tell me that the cheese was underneath (it wasn't) and that they shouldn't give me any more but would this time. I'd rather pay a little more for the meal in the first place to have what I ordered. On the plus side, there are toys for the kids, in a great location, and the food is pretty good.

Visit pretty frequently for breakfast as either in a couple or with friends. Very tasty breakfasts cooked hot to order. I am quite fussy about what I have but all my requests are catered for with a smile! All the staff are very welcoming, friendly and happy to help. Would definitely recommend.

The Delicatessen delivers on all fronts from the warm and friendly greeting with that all important smile from the staff to the well cooked and tasty breakfast washed down with a lovely pot of tea. Well laid out, spotlessly clean with papers and magazines to read the deli is definately worth a visit.

Went with my eldest and youngest - he had the big breakfast - she scrambled eggs on toast - I had the full English. There was nothing we didn’t like about the food. Beautiful ingredients well-cooked to order. Lovely interior with more seating than you’d imagine. Super, friendly service. Licenced too! Will definitely visit again for lunch.

A warm welcome, delicious coffee, all-day breakfast available - what's not to like? I shall be back to try the rest of the menu.

Just like to add my fairly minor comments to this deli This place is really unusual for the area I was surprised to see it. Saying that it’s nearly always well attended. So I went for a Saturday morning treat of an English breakfast, which is not an easy task normally The staff are welcoming and cheerful and my order was taken promptly followed by a swift delivery of an American coffee. The breakfast arrived soon after and was well presented and good portions. Really enjoyed it and will return on a Saturday in the near future .

Me and my partner often have the cooked breakfast option of a weekend. The food is excellent, coffee is very good and the service is warm and friendly. It's excellent value compared to some of the more expensive cafes in Belper and Duffield.

Based on all the rave reviews visited this place and was really disappointed. Yes it was a cosy place and yes the staff are friendly. However there was very little choice of cakes for the afternoon (looked like the leftovers), the counter looked sparce. The soup was lovely and home made but the toastie was bland and poorly presented. I would describe it more as a 'pit stop' than a destination

I visited The Delicatessen for breakfast. The coffee was good and the big cooked breakfast excellent. I visited with friends who have young children, there was a high chair available and games/toys to play with. Thank you for a lovely breakfast with friends.

Had a relaxing lunch which was excellent. Try the Derbyshire Chilli Bomb cheese for something different. I had this in a panini. Nice selection of cakes for sweet as well.

We come here regularly for breakfasts, lunch, dinner, cup of coffee....any excuse really! Food is really tasty, well presented and good value. All the staff are friendly and happy to help. This place is what Allestree has really being missing and its great to see them supporting so many local food and drink suppliers. Cannot wait until they begin opening on Friday evenings for burgers and baguettes again, definitely not to be missed!

This part of Allestree had nowhere to 'pop in' until the deli opened. Please, let's all do just that to prove that we deserve such a super place.

We recently had a works reunion at the Deli. The food was delicious, the drinks were lovely and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. Couldn't have wished for anything better. Will definitely be back

Delicatessen breakfast, good ingredients, well cooked and tasty all washed down with a pot of tea at a very reasonable price. Service is welcoming and friendly with good service and deli is spotlessly clean.

Visited last night and had a lovely burger and chips to take out . Would definitely recommend it . Food presented well and had a lovely cup of tea whilst I waited food obviously very fresh and great quality .

We have been meaning to pop in and try the delicatessen for a while now so we decided to go for breakfast the other day. Absolutely lovely food cooked freshly to order and proper tea!! My other half really enjoyed his full English and was particularly impressed by the level of seasoning of the food. Will definitely be going back, lovely food, atmosphere and staff and all for a very good price to boot!

We are having building work done and have been without a kitchen for five weeks so this deli has come to the rescue on several occasions! The staff are really friendly and the place spotless. The bacon and egg brown cobs are delicious and a good price; the sausage cobs, the best my husband has tasted, praise indeed! If we have had Contractors over the weekends we have treated them to bacon baps which has gone down very well! Great to see they are now open Sunday mornings and I have a feeling that even when my kitchen is installed I will be visiting the Deli for a leisurely breakfast at very reasonable prices. Definitely recommended.

I have often walked past this quirky little cafe/deli and not thought about popping in. It just so happened that me and my parent walked past and saw they where offering a new evening menu so thought why not! The menu wasn't massive but had a lovely selection of burgers, baguettes, salads and quesadillas. The man who served us was really lovely and was more than happy to help! I ordered the spicy steak baguette and can I just say it was Devine!! It's a must if you are in the area and are after a relaxed meal!!

Well cooked breakfast to order with good ingredients and a pot of tea went down a treat. The Delicatessen is very clean, well laid out with a menu that is not huge (specials also available) but with enough choice to keep most people happy. Service is excellent, welcoming and friendly, well worth your support if in the area.

We have visited so much over the last month, the food is so fresh. We love The Delicatessen for breakfast the menu is varied, and they do the best coffee. They also offer soya milk which is amazing. The lunch menu is good too, the soup is recommended. Definitely worth a visit soon. The staff are also very friendly.

Really unpretentious new cafe delicatessen serving locally served produce mostly from Derbyshire. Had one of the specials which was the Stilton Chilli Bomb panini which was superb. Can't wait until they start opening during the evenings. Currently open for breakfasts and lunches and afternoon teas..
