Staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was amazing in the bar with the jukebox, customers were friendly and a good laugh. Decided to have some food which came out beautiful. Amazing time and will be returning again soon

Had a few drinks after work with a few friends. Such a great atmosphere and the drinks were great. Must mention the staff as they are exceptional and make the visit worthwhile.......

Nice chilled pub, cheap drinks and friendly crowd. Staff were relaxed and seemed to know there customers well, lovely to see

Saw some reviews on Google but I was a tad disappointed. Came here for lunch, midweek, but the service was poor, and there seemed to be a lot of laughter from the staff area. The pub itself is well situated on a busy main road and inside is pretty large with a garden area at the back and seating outside overlooking said road! My meal though freshly made was over presented with sizzling onions. The chips were served separately and were slightly underdone, but at £6.50 cheap but not too cheerful.

Pre booked a table for Saturday evening & was forewarned that there was to be a live band later in the evening which I appreciated as my parents were accompanying us. The menu was very extensive making it difficult to choose. When our meals were served by the chef the plates were hot & the food plentiful & extremely tasty. Unusually we couldn't manage a dessert but will definitely be returning to hopefully have a dessert! Well done all, keep up the great work 👍

Visited this pub over the weekend. Great atmosphere, good menu and friendly staff. Would definitely come again as was family friendly.

Catch up with friends we took advantage of 3 starters as were 3 for £9 all were amazing . We then wanted a sweet treat so brownoe n tracle pudding were the chosen 2 again were amazing and hit the right spot washed down with a couple of bottles of wine and a good old chat very happy .

Have enjoyed quite a few meals here but it's very much hit and miss . Advertises on the board outside that it serves till 10pm but have arrived there many a time at 8 .30 pm looking forward to a meal only to find they shut the kitchen 2 hours early !!. So I don't bother anymore as it's totally unreliable as to wether you can eat or not !,, shame

Stopped with my girlfriend on our way back from Chasewater park. It seemed a nice pub, warm atmosphere, generally clean and a lot of people were enjoying a pint.Unfortunately we stopped for food and we were really hungry. My girlfriend's salad was missing half of the ingredients specified in the menu (no roasted gourgettes, no spinach, no sultans), the salmon topping of the salad was yellowish, dry and tasted awful (we didnt eat it) and the service was slow. My chicken dish was similar to a cold KFC meal. It took 25 minutes to bring this crap. It was the first time in my life that I complained about food to the staff and it was definitely the last time I am going to this poor excuse for a pub. On the flipside my beer was fine and the lady at the bar was friendly and fast.

We popped in as we couldnt get a table at the queslett pub down the road. Although a lottle chilly the staff were pleasant and we ended up eating as well. Food was inexpensive and hot. The surroundings are quaintly retro too. Not a bad place for a bite n a drink

Whilst working away I needed to find somewhere to eat, the deers leap was one of the closest to my hotel and I was too hungry to go out searching... I'm glad I didn't. I was warmly greeted on my arrival and the service never faltered. I'm a fussy eater so most menus only offer 1 or 2 things that I like so when I couldn't decide what to have as there was so much I liked I knew I was on a good start. I found the prices to be excellent which sometimes means the food is frozen reheated ready meals, this definitely wasn't the case as it was fresh, red hot and delicious. I have 2 more nights in Birmingham and a whole menu to sample, this trip looks better than I expected it to be!

Came in today to watch a match had a double bacon and cheese burger. Totally worth it!!I will be returning here again with my friends

I had a half roast chicken today and I must say how succulent and juicy it was. I recommend this pub to anyone. Also had a word with the head chef nice fella can't remember his name, but great chef and always comes out with your food which is new and he was pleasant and I seen him going round the pub and every one was hi, you ok and how are you "name". Bottom line great pub great chef great manager great staff

Had lunch yesterday, I had cheese and bacon burger and it tasted excellent so juicy. The chips were nice and crispy as well I would recommend food here

Well I thought I'd take a few minutes to reminisce about my breakfast that I've not long just yammed down, took photo (half eaten) As I walked up to the pub looked immaculate, got in to the pub And the staff were already waiting for me. Ordered my breakfast and got unlimited coffee for just only a pound!! I got a classic breakfast and unlimited coffee for less than £3.50!No longer had i sat down, but my breakfast had arrived by a chef with a clean uniform and a lovely smile. Greeted me with my breakfast and challenged me to enjoy it too which I had accepted his challenge and did. I would recommend this pub to anybody as a first timer and as somebody who is coming up regularly, if you're bringing your friends or visiting from afarand you want great service with friendly staff and the best chef in the world who comes out and brings you to food with a smile and maybe a little banter now and then then this is the place for you. I will certainly be visiting again you have my word on that.
