Ordered a takeaway to be delivered, delivery guy was polite and friendly. Large portions really tasty food. I think this might be our new favourite place for a takeaway curry.

Flat coke, tasteless pakoras, veggie balti was just onions, cold chips, staff looked tatty in grey off white shirt, £48 over priced, wouldn’t return

Awful,Awful, Awful!! Rotten smelling food, dirty cutlery, very rude staff!! Never go here we had booked here for Xmas day of 4 Curry’s & 4 English meals. Curry’s weren’t too bad but all tasted of pretty much the same spice. English food was undercooked and roast potatoes were black inside!! Very poor service and when we complained they bordered on the abusive, we were then asked had 2 of our party paid a £15 deposit!! Which obviously they had! Can’t rate this place badly enough! We went Adrak year before & it was beautiful to say the least but they were booked up in November so we went to Deccan thinking their standards would be as high but apparently not. We won’t be going here ever again and will be advising our friends & family to do likewise. Adrian & Judith Townson

Not been to the Deccan for a long time but it did not disappoint. Service was good and attentive and the food was enjoyed by all. Look forward to eating there again soon.

Called in tonight for my usual weekly takeaway. Been going to the Deccan for the last five years ordering the same meal, even order takeaways throughout lockdown in order to support the business. Tonight was the last straw for me two items of my takeaway we’re missing yet again. What’s the point of supporting local businesses when they don’t look after there loyal customers, Although, when I phone up the guy said all the right things but that not the point. Three times in one year things have been missing and I’m out of pocket, ordering thing which I don’t get.

Another great takeaway from The Deccan. Ready on time and piping hot and they also included a complimentary dish which we have had each time we have ordered during the lock down. Keep up the good work and hopefully see you in the restaurant soon.

Very poor standard small portions ,thought it was strange because we dined there a lot a few years ago and it was always packed and it was empty and that was Valentine's would not recommend to anyone needs improving .

I called in tonight to order my usual weekly takeaway and although I have ordered a takeaway every week for the last four years I do not expect any favours. However at the time I ordered my meal the restaurant was very busy . After three quarters of an hour my takeaway was ready (it usually takes twenty minutes) and was given it without any apologies for the long wait , which I found very discourteous after being a regular for so long. Also when I got the meal home the onion bhajee were missing and the rice was stone cold. I phone up and complained to the manager who was happy to sort in out on my next visit, which I told him I was not happy doing that and eventually he agreed to deliver the onion bhajee to my home which I refused as I did not want the rest of my meal to go cold. I feel as a regular customer I’ve been taking for granted.

I absolutely loved it here, great food, great atmosphere, lovely staff. Went with my family and we all loved it. Would definitely recommend. Cheers boyz.

Its a shame, this place serves good food, but the place is lifeless, i dont no why? , the waiters could do with a smartening up, the takeaways are great to take home, i like this place.

Visited on a Saturday evening at 7pm with 6 family members - the place was busy and after reading all the 5 star reviews, thought the food must be good - we waited over an hour after ordering, before we saw our food - this review is for my meal only, which was chicken tikka biriyani - awful chicken, I doubt if it saw a clay oven as the pieces of chicken looked 'dyed' with an orange colour, with no charring on it whatsoever after cooking in the high heat clay oven, the rice was dry, the sauce (not enough) was tasteless with little flavour (apart from greasy onion), all very disappointing. If I had not been with a family group, I would have complained/sent it back or walked-out. Needless to say I will not return, as there are many more (better) Indian restaurants in Manchester and I wonder why the residents of Urmston rate this place so highly?

first class service. food is amazing. not been for years. was very busy. the popadoms were fresh and light. lime pickle best I've had in years.both our mains fresh tasty. carnt wait till next time.

I love Indian food so I often travel from my home in Hale Barns to Urmston so that I can enjoy one of the best curries ive ever tasted The sauces are thick and tasty and the meat is always the highest quality. Try their chicken madras - breast meat and the sauce is thick and tomato-ey !

The Deccan is very bright and as that feel good feeling about it. The food was excellent and served by a tentative talkative staff who were creating and also joining in with customer humour. The place itself although the oldest restaurant of it's type it as kept up with the times. BRILLIANT NIGHT OUT.

thought I’d give the Deccan a go last night ordered a take out at a cost of 30 quid. 30 quid wasted on sub standard food. It was shocking , chicken saag was dry and it was like set in the tray. Chips were soggy tikka masala same as the saag . I won’t be setting foot in there again .

Curry is really tasty. Naan bread it perfect. Mijan was a lovely waiter-very friendly and attentive. We are here once a month for our Indian fix :)

Been dining here for more than 25 years and have always experienced a warm welcome, The food is always superb and the staff very accommodating, nothing is too much trouble.

My birthday fell near Christmas, so I deferred my treat to a later date 10/1/2019.

They were busy on New Years Eve as we passed but they managed to sqeeze us in. We were so glad they did as the food and the service were both excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We will certainly go again.

Came early evening on New Years Eve & although they were busy with bookings they managed to sort us a table. The service & the food were really good...we will be back soon.

Typical Bangladeshi food of good quality and served with a smile. Also good for a take away and you can have a nice pint of tiger beer while you wait. The Old chap on the bar as a dry sense of humour. Worth a visit if in the area.

Grandchildren liked it and the meal was good value for money served by cheerful staff. Not difficult to book and a good take-away service too.

Ordered takeaway from here and was so incredibly disappointed. Both ‘curries’ were tasteless and looked just like a chicken stew not a robust flavoursome thick curry we have had from surrounding curry houses.

10 of us ate here and all our meals were lovely, the service was great too and a nice room to eat in. This was our first time here recommended by family- we will definitely be back thank you :)

Saturday 27th October 2018 our first visit here and will definitely be going back.

We went in the week, so it’s wasnt too busy however their was a really really nice atmosphere. The staff were amazing & the manager made us very welcome. The food was top notch. Everyone really enjoyed it and I would recommend it to all curry lovers. Favorite dish was the Chicken Tikka Shashlick which was amazing, the flavor & fresh tender chicken was just delightful.

We decided to go here to celebrate three family birthdays in one trip. It was excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming, the ambience very good and both the food and service excellent.

I had lamb roghan josh the lamb was so tender curry was gorgeous my friend had chicken tikka persuaders which was so nice we shared the service was really good never had a bad meal there

Visited for the first time and we were very glad we did. Both the lamb rogan josh and the vegetable balti were excellent. It was such a change to get a properly cooked vegetarian dish rather than something cobbled together or second rate (even the meat eater thought it was excellent). The herbs and spices were fresh (including star anise and cinnamon bark) and the flavours were wonderful. There were quite a few diners mid-week, which was a good indication in itself and the service and presentation of the food were very good.

Staff are very friendly to the regulars who order starters, drinks and mains but if you're only after something light you will be treated as a second rate customer. The bill is often wrong and the straw that broke the camels back for us was when the waiter got rude when we wanted the bill correcting. Not kid friendly either.

Visited a couple of weeks ago and again had a very tasty and very different curry.

Got recommended this place and wow wasn't disappointed . The food was awesome and the waiter Hamza was extraordinary, recommended everything we ate and had a fabulous demeanour. Made our night. Do not miss this place just like the Taj Mahal its a wonder of the modern world!

Called on a Saturday night with two friends, was quickly seated as it was almost empty. Ordered popadoms curries and a drink each. Food was bland, madras was tomato sauce with chilli powder added to it. Asked for another drink each but was told they had stopped serving, they then started hoovering round us whilst we were still eating!!! Will never call again, would rather have a takeaway kebab.

Pre booked the table, opps we was late, the staff sorted us a table very promptly even though it was Saturday and busy. First time for our friends and they was not disappointed. Hasan looked after us so well, great food and prompt for such...

Not been to the Deccan for quite some time but with 8 friends had a cracking meal. Service was great allowing time for a chat between courses and not being rushed. Attentive staff made sure we were never short of a drink when wanted but...

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Nice tidy restaurant nicely presented fresh flowers on the table. Paul was a very attentive host explaining some of the dishes. We had chicken handi which was full of flavour, fresh ingredients and spices to make the taste buds dance.,the chicken was fresh and Tikka style. Also we had vegetable biryani with masala sauce, generous portions kept on a hot plate at the table. Cobra on draft and papadam tray that was fresh with super lime pickle! Would give 5/5stars. Thanks Paul for great service. We’ll be back.

Food absolutely bursting with flavour not tasted food this nice since I was actually IN India. Well worth a visit.

Having not been to this restaurant for quite a number of years, it was a delight to revisit.The choice was really good and plenty of vegetarian options. What was a pleasure to see was that not only were the curries rated for strength but there was also an 'Allergy Awareness' guide, which gave diners with allergies/intolerances an informed choice as to what they could order.Something other restaurants should take onboard All-in-all, a good place to dine - and excellent value for money, attentive and caring staff and a lovely relaxing atmosphere.

Fantastic place! Lovely food, great service and the menu is extremely clever. We have difficulty with various foods and EVERYTHING is fully itemised with allergens. The staff are so informed and careful, offering advice and adjusting dishes to suit. Well established for 49 years - first Indian restaurant in Trafford. Experience tells.

We went as a group of 12 on Christmas Eve 4 of us have been many times and love it all the others we raving about it all the meals were amazing not one complaint thanks again for wonderful time we will be back soon

Myself and my family went to the Deccan on xmas eve 2017. We hadn't booked a table but they still managed to find us one. We had a very nice meal and our waiter Hasan was very helpful and friendly as were all the staff. Personally I would rate this restaurant 5 stars.

Went for Christmas curry with 12 people service and food was excellent. The lamb chop habib and the vindaloo are brilliant! Best curry in Urmston by a mile.

we booked a table for 12 people on xmas eve, we'd all ordered, the meals arrived, one of the elder waiters served a nan bread the was thrown on the table, my starter was sodden in oil but tasty, and my main meal was supposed to be chicken madras, what arrived was chicken in tomato sauce with curry powder or chilli powder mixed in,in hinde sight i should have sent it back, but after having two spoonfuls i just left it, it was probably the worst madras i'd ever tasted, the younger waiters were very polite, but the elder waiter was lacking in basic manners, i informed the waiter regards the my meal, asking him to inform the cook of my displeasure, whether he did or did'nt, i dont think the cook received the message because nothing was said ie apology, i shall not be going back !!!!

After moving into the area a year ago we tried a few different local Indian restaurants and were pretty disappointed until we found The Deccan.Friendly service, very tasty dishes. I love the vegetable naga curry.Nan breads are great and we really love the parathas.Reasonably priced and decent decor inside.Keep up the great work guys and see you soon!

I eat at the Deccan at least a couple of times a month. I try other places and always compare it to the Deccan. The Deccan always wins. So it made me think. Urmston has a lot of great new restaurants and bars and I think they're all commendable. The Deccan is a constant, a place that's always been there and a place that offers great quality in terms of food and service. I think I take it for granted and try the other places because they are new and enthuse about them to my friends but never mention the Deccan. Well, just to put things in to perspective, we do have a lot of great new places and I think we should all frequent them. BUT!!! the Deccan, in my opinion, is the best, curry and spicy food restaurant we have.Paul and Ahmed are really friendly and helpful. I very rarely have to ask for a drink because they are observant and attentative and before I can think "another Cobra" one arrives.Thanks guys for great food, great service and great value.

I have eaten at this restaurant for a number of years and I also have a take away at least once a week.The food has always been 1st Class and the staff are very friendly and warm , nothing is to much trouble.I would very much recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian food..

Love The Deccan. It's been in Urmston for years where others have been and gone. The staff are always very welcoming and the decor inside is modern and clean. We've been here as a family for occasions as well as had Takeaways. The food is always great and reasonably priced. Definitely recommended!

Called in midweek as it was quiet the starters were good but the mains could have been better my chicken madras was very sweet tasting and had no kick my wife's chicken jalfrazzi had no kick either the place also had a damp smell even thou the front and back doors were open would probably call in again if I know the curry has improved but I still think adrak is the best curry house in urmston

I'm one for food, it's got to taste right but I also need an atmosphere, most diners will agree food tastes better when there are more people in the restaurant, I would recommend you to try it and not just rely on my word, a big thank you to the staff, lovely people

Gone down hill. Lack of flavour, Luke warm. Madras very bland in a very mild tomato sauce. Will not return again.

ordered takeaway last night from here and was awful. this used to be the best indian in urmston. chicken madras had absolutely no heat to it was really just like a bland tomato sauce and chicken looked and tasted like pre roasted chicken and then just chucked in the sauce. the chicken balti sylheti wasnt as bad but not up to scratch of previous visits. the food was luke warm. just very disappointed as i wouldn't chance going here again as the meal was so bad. don't know if they've changed ownership or chef but it was not good.

This was our second visit, and I had already put a review on trip advisor after our first. After poppadoms, mixed starter and onion bajis, I once again had a tandoori chicken saag. This time Julie had Lamb Tikka Dupiaza. This was all washed down with a lovely bottle of chardonnay. Once again, great staff and great service. We have already planned a night with friends at The Deccan for Julie's birthday.

Visited the Deccan for our anniversary meal. Having booked we had a short wait on arrival before being seated. Drinks were ordered whilst waiting. After being seated we ordered popadums and dips and scanned the menu. We ordered starters, mains and sides and enjoyed our drinks,p.A little wait later the starters were brought out and were fresh and tasty. I went for the tandoori mix starter and my wife had the chicken pakora. Dishes were taken away and a bit later the mains were brought out.I had the Bengal mosaka with mushroom rice and my wife had chicken dupiaza with pilau rice. Both were very good.After finishing our meal we got the bill and were pleasantly surprised at the cost. Very reasonable for good food.Overall excellent service and amazing food at a good price and will be going back. Best curry in Urmston having been to various other places before.

We had a great meal tonight, not over crowded on a Saturday night but nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and kept hot during the meal. Complimentary Bailey's too.

I have been a customer at this restaurant since it first opened, so nearly 50 years! It is now run by a nephew of the original owner and has changed over the years to reflect modern presentation but one thing has remained consistent, the quality of the food is second to none and is served by friendly staff.

A long established curry house which has long been a very nice favourite. The interior is very smart and the staff on the ball.

Me and July decided to try this restaurant as it is only 10 minutes walk if that. Fantastic. Nice atmosphere, clean, and lots of helpful staff. Food was not lukewarm but piping hot and lots of it. We began by sharing a mixed starter and onion bajis. Then onto a main course. She had Chicken Tikka and I had a delicious chicken sag. I love a good sag with lots of spinach. I could choose mild or medium and I chose medium, it was not quite as hot as I like but it was still gorgeous. We had garlic rice and onion fried rice with it. We ate so much and drank beer and wine but loved it all. We put a few pictures on facebook which the restaurant acknowledged. I told them to look out for this review and here it is, including the pictures. Thanks. We will be back.

Never had a bad meal at the Deccan so thought it about time I wrote about it. This is our favorite curry house in Urmston We ate Saturday evening opting for the pappadums with the usual accompaniments to start with. For mains we shared Chicken Shashlik and Chicken Handi. Both were excellent, full of flavour. The naan was the best I've ever had.

As a group of friends we decided we'd get the train and have a night out in Urmston, as it's been a long time. Deccan was recommended and I'm so glad we went. They made us very welcome. Loads of popadoms and happy to provide more chutney and onions. Main meal was lovely.The prices were really good.A great night with a free bottle of wine at the end.

After visiting the Decan for a number of years without a problem over the past year the overall quality and service my family and I have received has been absolutely terrible! From week to week the overall quality of our meals, both takeaway and sit down meal, vary and often we are given the wrong order. After receiving our food to find we had the complete wrong curries. My wife phoned to inform the Decan of their errors. The reply that my wife received from the owner was totally unprofessional and rude. His response was very dismissive and he was not interested in what my wife had to say to him. I feel very disappointed and will not be visiting again.

This was great! My staff curry was full of flavour and tasted very authentic. Not sure the naga was as hot as advertised but tasty none the less. Food arrived quickly and staff were friendly, plus you've got to love the old school candle hot plates. Will definitely go again.
