Disappointing experience. Location isn’t very central and when you get there you’re not very well welcome. There is also the stand at Kargo Mkt but again, it’s just food court experience. Hard to find the tea leaves in the traditional tea leaf salad, the food lacks taste and authenticity and even though they do reply on their social media they’re not very helpful. I was very hopeful I’d have a great culinary experience after reading the reviews here but in the end I wouldn’t recommend it to any Burmese food connoisseur

Had lunch here a few weeks ago. Was absolutely delicious, I had never tried burmese food before. Tamarind pork and noodle soup were delicious. Nbk is a hidden gem!

We had the amazing Tamarind Pork curry with the rice and veg combo, which I felt was perfectly sized for the price that they charge, the food was done so quickly and yet, I can honestly say that I have never had a better curry than this one in the UK! Perhaps I have a different taste palate, but I find that the specific spice and ingredient proportions of Southeast Asian curries are tastier. I adore this cuisine and I'm so glad I was able to find a Burmese restaurant in Manchester. Will be coming back for more.

We ordered a takeaway for 22 of us this week from Nila for a team work event nearby. The food was absolutely delicious, packed up so that it kept warm, ready exactly on time and the service and interaction planning it all was brilliant. Thank you Nila to you and your team

The current prices are excessively high. Despite their claim of no price increases, I vividly remember when it was £6.20, then £6.50, and even back then, the portion size felt inadequate. Notably, they use branded sriracha sauce instead of homemade, as mentioned earlier. The portions barely satisfy even a pigeon's appetite. While larger portions are available for dine-in customers for the same price, those of us with limited breaks, such as the 30-minute lunch window for workers, are restricted to the takeaway option. Moreover, a small samosa is priced at £1, which appears quite steep. Their other cafe in the Cargo Market is similarly pricey, although it does offer a more extensive selection. Despite this, we opted to dine at another food outlet. Unfortunately, in Trafford Park, people are inclined towards affordable, quick, and filling meals rather than small tasting portions.

Came here for the first time today. Was not expecting venue to be as busy at 2pm! Had 1 portion of spicy fries from here with homemade Chili and garlic sauce. They were so good we just had to order another portion! Looking forward to trying other dishes of Nila's. I'm not surprised she is busy. Well done 👏

I payed £3.95 for 3 samosa they drizzle a bit of sauce on it which was not enough to my taste. I asked if they could drizzle a bit more sauce but they refused unless I payed £2.50 extra. I refused as this is almost the price I payed for the samosa...

Honestly so disappointed, really felt like a soup kitchen. We had the driest rice ever and a vegetable curry which only had chickpeas in...that's it. I was expecting at least a small variety of vegetables. My partner had steak mince and potato and only had a thumbnail sized piece of potato in the whole dish. Wasn't very enjoyable and nothing was Burmese about it. I had two bites and left it.

Drove all that way to be a bit disappointed that there was only 4 curries on the menu. We were looking forward to traditional Burmese food, it says nothing on the Instagram or any other social media about how it was events only for them dishes. Maybe one day we'll be able to try these food like home, but sadly today wasn't that day

Found this cosy little bolthole in the busy industrial heart of Trafford Park. The hearty food is freshly made, virtually straight out of the pan onto the plate - and what food! I had the chicken and lentils, my daughter had the tamarind pork and they were tasty and deeply satisfying, really just like home cooking. The cook/proprietor, Nila, was warm and welcoming and certainly went that extra mile, even offering to top up my plate! I left feeling comfortably full and pampered - what more could you ask. If you want posh dining, this is not the place for you, but if you want a comforting meal in a warm environment, this is it. I loved it and I think you would, too. An extra bonus is that it won't break the bank!

Saw this little place on Facebook and my curiosity was piqued ; Burmese food , a new experiment for me so off I set . Not the easiest place to find but , boy, am I glad I did.Nila was so friendly and made me the most delicious platter consisting of a chicken dish, a pork one, a vegetable one and mince and potatoes . It was served with rice and a crunchy fresh salad . I ate in but there were a few people who came in whilst I was there who told me that they were regulars and love the food. I also bought a paste to try to recreate at home and some homemade chilli sauce . I will definitely be back.

Came for lunch. Nice cafe. Very good and friendly service. But best of all was the food. We had the Thursday special (pork and chicken meatballs) and tamarind pork. Both served with rice and a salads. Both delicious. Tasty, fragrant cooking but with a lightness of touch. Lovely salad, high quality rice and flavoursome meat and spicy sauce. Ignore the negative reviews - the place is a gem.

Went to Nila’s for a cheeky lunch date with the wife and was very impressed with the food we ate. A very unassuming place, the food does the talking in this place. There are daily specials available, alongside some very nice staple dishes. We opted for the paneer and spinach curry and the chicken satay. We had some samosas to accompany this. Everything was delicious, and left us wanting more. We will return here in the future for sure.

I heard about this lovely place from people in the office at Stockyard North. I'd not seen a Burmese cafe in Manchester. The reviews promised a good experience, and I wasn't disappointed! The cafe is quite small and busy - there's a steady stream of regular customers for takeouts.I shared the Tamarind pork, chicken satay noodles, meat samosa and the dish of the day with a friend. We were delighted with everything. The spicing was superb! Burmese cuisine is quite mild enough for a beginner.Nila is very outgoing and friendly, dashing in and out of the kitchen. Her enjoyment of cooking and her pride in it is infectious. We left with 4 generous takeaways and big smiles! We will come back for the meatballs next Thursday...

Ravenous and ready for a meal, Wednesday lunchtime took me on a jaunt past the usual boring Greggs/ fish and chips choices and brought me to this wonderful hidden gem. The quaint cafe decor did not allude to the delicious food that would await me on that day. I'm not strictly vegan at all but I often go for vegan dishes for health and conscience reasons, so I asked the warm and friendly staff what they could do for me. Immediately they knew what would be right for me and were open and honest from the get go. I waited a couple of minutes for my food, had a lovely chat and then proceeded back to work. What I found when I opened the takeaway box was a joy to view, smell and of course taste. Mouth wateringly delicious chickpea curry with rice and a small garnish was more than enough to satisfy me, without the guilt that comes along with cheaper stodgy food. Along with a sensational crispy samosa and drink, for £5 it's an absolute bargain. Perhaps I won't be going everyday but with the service, staff and food I might just have to!

I come from a true Burmese family so when we heard about this cafe of course we wanted to get a taste of Home. We Took my 82yr old mum who was very much looking forward to eating dishes from her home country as she doesn’t cook anymore and there are no Burmese restaurants near by. Well, what an utter disappointment - the owner may have a Burmese name but her food is definitely NOT Burmese. Cafe is small shop with a about 3/4 small tables, some extortionately priced cooking ingredients on shelves which were clearly bought from a Chinese supermarket with increased prices. The main dishes were rice, your choice of curry from a small menu and salad - or should I say lots of salad with a side of cheap tasteless rice and a very small portion of rather dry curry. Needless to say the food was tasteless and could have been cooked by anyone. This girl has obviously seen an opportunity to call her food Burmese just because she is Burmese as no one would know if it was or wasn’t authentic. Burmese people are generous - especially with their food and respectful to the elderly, two things that this place lacks. Food is pretty standard, nothing special (god knows why people go here), portions are smaller than a child’s portion and Nila is rude and disrespectful to her customers and only interested in making money, not her customer service. The lady behind the counter (also the waitress) attempted 3 times to take our plates away before we were finished, so rude! The shop is only busy because it’s so small! The only reason I can think she has good reviews is because people don’t know what real Burmese food should be like. Definitely would not recommend this place if you want to try authentic Burmese food. However, if you want bog standard food for a rip off price (working for revenue I notice it was cash only too!) it’s definitely the place to go!!

Saw this place on the Internet as we are Burmese and wanted to take our eldery mother as she has stopped cooking Burmese food as she is too old now. This place sounded ideal for her to start eating it again. My sister had emailed Nila to see if we could order some food for Mum to eat at home. She said we could order in bulk and freeze it. We thought we would try the food first before we ordered it so I rang ahead today to see what dishes were available. The special of the day was fish curry so I asked the lady to reserve some and told her we were bringing my elderly Burmese mum.

I was visiting Trafford Park on business and Third Avenue is worth a try for lunch as it has a few independent cafe/restaurants which are a welcome break from the usual chain/fast food options at Trafford Centre and so typically on offer in business locations. Nila s was an excellent choice with a good range of freshly prepared food (I had an excellent chicken lemongrass curry) - exceptional value and served with a smile. Will definitely return and recommend you try it!

Great service but we all found the food slightly disappointing. The starters- mixed grill and an assortment of other starters were good. The mains however were a bit of a let down. Not very flavoursome or spicy and the 'curry' sauce provided as an accompaniment was too much like carrot and coriander soup!
