Went to best friend's wedding reception here yesterday really impressed went all out and what a lovely couple very friendly couldn't do enough for you really good food aswell

We went for a Family Sunday Lunch, being from away, we left the choice of venue to be chosen by others in the family, and we were not disappointed. When we arrived we were show where to sit, and given time to settle in, we ordered drink which were brought and served very quickly and efficiently. When we were ready to order, our orders were taken by the young waiter while explaining what was on offer, some of us chose, large plates, some small plates, which those in our party fully appreciated, as there is not often the choice. I chose the Roast Beef, it came with two large Yorkshire puddings, ( I had the large plate mm) and both mashed and roast potatoes and carrots. The beef was beautifully cooked and very tender, and tasty, all of our party who had the Roast Beef dinner said the same. Some chose the Lamb Shank which was said to be the best they had eaten anywhere, and so tender it just fell off the bone. One of our party had a pie which had previously been requested, and it was said to have been delicious, in fact despite the excellence of the Roast Beef dinner, had I known it was available before our visit, I would have requested it too. The Yorkshire Puddings were a credit to the chief, they really were excellent, just how I love them, just like they should be in Yorkshire, but often aren't, as they are ether small soggy or like boot leather. Despite having had the large plate, I did find room for a sweet, as did some of those who had smaller plates. I chose sticky Toffee Pudding, with of course Custard, the pudding was superb just like those I have enjoyed in the past, but often now can't find. The Custard was Delicious, it was piped around the pudding and was a great choice, well I thought so, others had ice cream, with their Sticky Toffee Pudding, which they loved, but that was not for me, Custard as delicious as this, I would not have wanted to miss. Another member of our party had the chocolate Brownie, which was said to have been delicious. We had a very enjoyable, Relaxed Sunday lunch, served by staff who were very good, and helpful, and at at all times efficient, while not being over bearing, in fact they helped make or visit more enjoyable. We stumbled across this place and so glad we found it. Staff are so welcoming and warm nothing is too much trouble. The food is really good, its cooked fresh and the cook/chef? makes a point of saying hello and making sure you are happy..and we always are so far. The pizzas are really good here, no shop bought taste and good sized portions, presented really nicely with a side salad on a slate. The curry is moreish with lots of chicken and again good sized portions and freshly made chips and rice. Excellent value for money compared to nearby places The place is clean and tidy, toilets spotless, good easy parking, ideal place for a meal or and a drink basically. There is a function room at the back that looks cute, and a cocktail area, plus a parrot in the hall as you walk in, who looks happy to be there too :)

We love close by to the pub. Lovely pub. With great staff. Would highly recommend popping in whenever passing by. Fresh home cooked food. Always willing to go above and beyond. Keep up the great work Kev and Adele . Ps. The homemade chips are gorgeous!

Used to be great, lovely food and good customer service, unfortunately had a poor experience tonight with mediocre food. Parts of order missing and bills mixed up. An apology afterwards but not sincere.

Went in here this afternoon for Sunday lunch, pleasantly surprised, food was excellent, fresh and home cooked, opted for the medium size which was plenty, even managed a pudding which was also excellent, will definitely return here again

Very nice place very nice staff Drinks and atmosphere Dog friendly bar and we was sat near pool table and local dog was hilarious watching two women play pool Very entertaining Will call again

A group of us celebrated my birthday there. The food was excellent and the entertainment was first class. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Customer service at its best... would definitely go back and would highly recommend.

Surprised at just how clean this pub is. The Sunday lunch was beautiful and was delivered within 10 minutes the lovely lady told us all about how to order and kept coming back to see if we needed any thing else even though she was rushed off her feet. Thank you so much we will come back again

My assumption is the people who are leaving rubbish reviews have an issue locally for some ulterior motive. I have never been to a place and been made so welcome and the food is stunning. Visit and make your own mind up, you won’t be disappointed x

Had a gorgeous Sunday lunch here, all home made and huge portion sizes! Only £10.90 with a drink. Would highly recommend. Staff lovely and offered to let us take food home.

We have visited The Dearnsman a few times in the last few weeks, following a friends recommendation. Adele the landlady went out of her way to speak to us on that first visit, and each subsequent visit. As does Bella 🦜 Due to this attention, and the refurb that’s been completed, we decided to hold my mums Funeral tea there, in their function room. The attention to detail from booking through to pick up of items the following day, was second to none. The room was dressed very classy indeed, after several suggestions Adele made, that I hadn’t thought of. The food was top notch, I’m not just talking cheap buffet food, I’m talking home cooked, fresh food, very very tasty, and presented in an elegant way. Adele and Kev took note of my husband and I, having not eaten (too many people to talk to) so made us an extra platter of food, just for us. WOW. Later on pizzas were brought out too. All good made by the fabulous Kev. Adele even stored by funeral flowers until the next day. I shall be forever grateful for the professional, warm and personal way, we were treated by Adele, Kev and the team. Thank you. We dropped in on the off chance. So glad we did. The food was lovely. The staff was friendly we were served by jake. We will definitely go back. I fully recommend it

We went in for Sunday lunch the pub was very cold it was not busy but we waited ages for are food when it arrived some of the veg were cold and Yorkshire pudding well I have seen thicker biscuits hardly any meat even though some of us ordered large meals.

The new owners are trying hard to turn this pub around but if they continue to serve Sunday lunches to the poor standard we encountered then they have a long way to go.

I came here for Sunday lunch with my mum. The food was delicious and really good value. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back and would definitely recommend to others.

food was awful would defo not go again and heard a few other people say th same but it's ok if you want some where to go with a ply area and to have a quiet drink while kids play

Went in here for Sunday lunch I can honestly say it was one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever eaten, it cost a fiver,don't know how this place wasn't mobbed, give it a try ,we will certainly be back

Was going to try the dearnesman pub, drove into the car park all over grown with grass so turned back round. Not a good first impression

Brilliant family pub. Just been taken over by new owners and is family run. Kids indoor and outdoor play areas free of charge. Good selection of beers largers and ciders only £2 a pint on a monday. Bingo tuesday, quiz thursday and disco karaoke friday. This pub has it all going for it in the local area not many big pubs still like this open. Carvery on sundays is to die for selection of meats and gorgeous homemade pie. Will be using this pub a lot more from now on
