The Deacon in Fylde

Fish batter was appauling, pale soggy and tasted of flour. Kitchen blamed new batter, no kitchen would served that fish at £18. Peas were solid and dry. The manager was very accomodating and refunded the price of the meal but not the point, we went for a lovely lunch. If they cant servce fish and chips there is something!! Vey bellow average/ wont be going back!

Visited with my two young children this afternoon and had the burger and my partner had the beef Sunday dinner both were really good, staff always attentive and lovely venue

Went to the Deacon last night for dinner, with our grandson and his girlfriend, sampled their Easter menu, and had lamb, which was incredible, the food at the Deacon is always first class anyway however last nights dinner even surpassed their usual amazing meals. The Deacon is a fabulous place to visit for a night out, the atmosphere is brilliant, love music, and incredible service, we were fortunate to be served by Jasmin, who was great, explained the menu choices and was fabulous with us all evening, cannot recommend the Deacon enough, great place anytime, and friendliest staff you’ll come across.

Excellent . We started with drinks then I noticed the quality of food being delivered plus the high level of service so we decided to stay for dinner : great choice too ! The starters were delivered promptly ( seared scallops for one dish and pate for the other ) : absolutely 💯 delicious too . For main course, we both had the Seabass : scrumptious. Definitely be back.

What a lovely friendly little gem in Lytham, Dave and his team were on top of their game. A warm and efficient welcome from Kyle behind the bar, Jasmine the server was delightful too. We called in for a couple of drinks and will certainly return. A masterstroke to allow dogs in the bar area as many people walk their dogs at the wek end especiially.Personal service here and top marks for customer care. Well done Team!!!!. Thank you.

The venue is open plan with plentiful seating and open booths. They offer an extensive menu of burgers etc along with a weekly set menu. We opted for their set menu, which sadly was disappointing. We ordered the ‘braised beef’ however what we were served was certainly not braised beef but rather a slice of tough beef barely chewable. When we raised the issue the front of house staff member informed he doesn’t cook so doesn’t know the term braised but he’d inform the kitchens feedback. Suggestion to management : involve your staff in knowing how the food is prepared in your kitchens to perhaps better sell menu recommendations or at least understand the basic principals of cooking ie braising and don’t forget to include the chef! If you do dine at this venue we hope it’s not a disappointment on your visit.

Service slow had to get up to order another drink but good very good told staff about feedback and she just said ok and what exactly were the problems

So relaxing place to have a drink, they do food but we was not hungry, bar stools quite high if your on the short side

A little expensive but worth it, once again delicious cocktails were served here, particularly the raspberry one I had. I've heard the food is also delicious here. Friendly and nice staff.

We waited almost an hour and received no food. The waitress was telling everyone (as no one had been served between 12.30pm and 1.30) that it was a computer glitch and the chef hadn't received any of the orders. I would have thought someone would have realised this sooner if this was indeed true. We opted to leave so can't say how the food was. I have been 3 times before though and its usually very good but the menu has changed now so no light lunch options such as sandwiches etc so bit pricey for a lunchtime visit. Assuming you get served that is.

Disappointing today!! Poor quality and cold food and a reduced menu to boot Have been lots of time previously but today was very disappointing, the meat in the lamb hot pot chewy and tough. All meals lukewarm and not good as previously. Desserts came cold so had to be redone . Visited on New Year’s Eve early evening . Very little choice on festive menu. Not enough vegetarian choice We’re not asked if any of us had any allergies Appeared very chaotic and unorganised Bar area was busy but plenty of empty tables. Seemed to have sufficient numbers of staff but advised had forgotten to process our order and had wait some time for our meal. Requested desert menu and placed order and again waited some time for desert to arrive and had to request/ remind different waiter that we had ordered a desert and waited again. Just to add to the poor service and experience the deacon took the liberty of adding 10% surcharge / tip whether you wanted to tip them for the privilege or not. Once our food arrived it was very average. Would not return other better restaurants in the area.

6 of us for lunch. After 1 hour 30 mins Dave came to the table and simply said ‘We need you to leave now.’ We had just been asked if we would like pudding, when we said to Dave we have only just finished our main he very VERY rudely said ‘I don’t care, I need this table now. You need to leave.’ He then walked away and rolled his eyes. The poor but wonderful waitress apologised profusely. Absolutely horrific.

Went in on 23/12 with thought of dining. We were in luck, the place was dead. At first, when we went in through a curtain, we thought there may have been a séance going on as the place was as dark as a cave. 4 staff behind the bar, 3 of which were huddled talking to each other, 1 looked over and was far too interested in gossiping than to stoop so low as to serve a lowly customer! Useless Manager was stood filling his face with peanuts and he too thought it was below him to serve a customer and was akin to an ashtray on a motorbike. Useless! Meanwhile, 3 waitresses, stood folding serviettes, no wonder the service is so rubbish. Eventually, the barman who had obviously drawn the short straw served us. No please or thank you. £10.50 for half a cider and G&T. Didn't bother staying to eat. Clearly hoping that visitors return soon so they can fleece them. I am a local and will not be back!

I have been meaning to try the food at the deacon for a number of years but only got around to it today because it tends to be fully booked but today I managed to secure a table for me and my partner, we ordered the Sunday roast beef and it was very disappointing, firstly it was a thinly cut fried sirloin and not roasted as we had been led to believe, it came with a parsnip and Carrott and roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding but the whole meal was not supplied with enough gravy leaving it very dry so when I was asked if everything was OK by the waitress I mentioned there wasn't enough gravy on the dinner and she said no problem she would bring more gravy and she arrived with a very tiny portion but it was like powdered gravy what you would expect from a fish and chip shop but I was hungry so I ate it but was not happy to be charged for it when I paid my bill afterwards, i can honestly say that was a terrible roast dinner that ate today and I would have expected that kind of food from a carvery in a backstreet pub at the end of a long day but not from a place like the deacon what always tends to be very busy most weekends

The deacon is a fantastic place for food and drinks. The atmosphere is top tier, the gastro pub is always buzzing! The hustle and bustle with crowds of people is vibes! The staff are absolutely lovely, I always feel a warm welcome when I visit. Since going to the deacon I would say it’s now in my top 5 places to go in Lytham to kick back and relax with the company of friends and staff. The team are like a family, always smiling with wonderful customer service! I’d highly recommend if you enjoy live music too!

An impromptu lunch after Christmas shopping on a short break away to Lytham st. Anne’s. Lexi was a very attentive waitress. . We had the roast beef and it was extremely good.
