Popped in to book a large table. Chef and bar staff excellent. Couldn't be more helpful and accommodating with food allergy information and can do attitude. Such a rare find.

One the last great Local pubs, Sits in the centre of the village of Disley. Welcomes everyone and food is great and of good value. Often having Djs and discos, also quiz nights. Children and dogs are always welcome . Well worth a visit after a stroll in the best national park in the country.

Another brilliant night at the Dandy with a Christmas quiz lovely friendly people good bar staff ,pizza & chips at half time we won 5 raffle prizes so when we won the quiz we donated the winnings between the 3 charity boxes on the bar

The pub team generously offered ‘a Sunday roast for two’ as a raffle prize supporting The Christie cancer charity. We were the lucky winners and enjoyed a lovely visit today. We’d read the reviews and turned up early and hungry! The place soon filled up. We both went for the roast turkey, it was ‘melt in the mouth’ delicious. The Dandy Cock is a cracking pub, dressed for the Christmas season. The staff made us feel very welcome. It’s a great place for a delicious Sunday roast.

Despite works going on(installing a new music system), the service was good, a great pint of real ale. The 1st pint pulled was not up to scratch, he could have just served it anyway, but threw it away and pulled a fresh pint. Fell upon the small but delightful pub from an old sign on the canal walk. It's a shame they don't serve food until Wednesday, but I would definitely visit again!

Coffee not to my liking. But it's a pub. your supposed to drink beer. But I was driving.

A nice friendly pub with good beer

The atmosphere was wonderful. My food was a bit salty but my daughter enjoyed her entree.

Called in with my dad and brother on Wednesday, for lunch. Food was lovely. My dad was really impressed with his salt and pepper chicken.

The Sunday roast here is the best in the village. Always a choice of at least two meats, served with fresh vegetables, stuffing ball, pigs in blankets and of course a homemade Yorkshire pudding. All the cooking is done by the landlord Chris and it is delicious - the pies are recommended too. I suggest that you book if you want the Sunday lunch as it is often sold out. Great pub, lovely atmosphere and smiley bar staff - what more could you want?

Very friendly but we went for food on a bank holiday and they weren't serving it. Top marks from the lady behind the bar who suggested alternatives. May give 5 stars with better planning on our part to go when food is available

Lovely Robinsons pub on the very busy A6. Visited once 40 years ago on a country pub crawl. Open plan with a separated pool room. ( Not played in years but 60p a game or £1 for 2 seems pretty good. Food looked good, esp home made pies but seems slightly pricey to me. Biggest let down was only one real ale on during my visit. Pint of Unicorn..very nice. Beer garden to front on very busy A6.

Came in to grab a glass of water for my ill brother. Bartender was a very nice guy, happily sorted me out. I told him I would bring the glass back in but our bus arrived before I could do so. My sincere apology for not bringing it back. But pub was immaculate and very approachable bartender and, even though I didn't order a drink, there were a lot of good options on offer!

We found ourselves stranded with a broken down car and not many options in terms of recovery. The staff at the dandy cock made us feel welcome in a small village, they opened the kitchen for us so we could eat and even kindly allowed me to charge my phone. So welcoming and kind. Great food and drink, clean and warm! Thankyou for your hospitality.

Lovely staff and a welcoming open fire

First visit to The Dandy Cock, certainly won't be our last. Pub has the feeling of a good old fashioned local. We only popped in for one drink but ended up staying for a couple more plus decided to eat there too. Food was lovely, with some items on the menu homemade. Great service throughout from the young lady behind the bar rounded off a very nice evening. Thank you Team Dandy!

We went for a works Christmas outing the food was excellent the party had various different starters ,mains and desserts ,each course was served with presion timing ,staff were efficient friendly nothing was too much trouble ,wouldn't hesitate in going again ,oh and a disco thrown in to finish the night off 😀

Whilst situated at a fairly busy junction in Disley and if sitting outside this can be noisy depending upon the time of visit, this was a much needed pit stop en route to Manchester. Welcoming and really good 'proper' chips! Nice coffee even if it was from a machine, it was still better than a lot I've tasted from 'artisan' outlets. Friendly owners/managers. Felt refreshed and ready to continue on. 👍

Called here on the off chance yesterday on a cycle stop for pub grub and were promptly seated in the blazing sun. The were plenty of choice on the menu, from light bites to snacks and full meals, from what they were churning out portions looked decent too. A few of us went for the salt & pepper shredded chicken with fries, another the cheese and chutney sandwiches, all came with garnish on the side. All very nice and glad we stopped by.

Fantastic Friendly Service In Covid Safe pub with well kept beers and home made pies made by the landlord. Generous servings , I had the steak and ale pie in the photo which had big chunks of quality meat , my wife had the cheese and onion , can’t wait to go back after lock down recommend it

Cosy, good value and efficient service. We called sunday afternoon, during Covid. A table found for four of us with little fuss after 'signing in'. Real fire in a cosy room. We only had chips and a beer because the train had been cancelled but there was good portions at a great price. Lovely atmospher and it will be our pub of choice in future when we are rambling in the Lyme Park area. (the Manchester Ramblers)

Had a great Sunday lunch for all my family to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. Pub staff and food was excellent, could not have been better.

I can remember this place when it was very high in the Egon Ronay Guide. Now it’s just a pub full of locals with a less than cheery welcome. We ate two courses and wished we had eaten only one. The food was dull, boring and unimaginative. It was the sort of food that would have done the job twenty five years ago. But no-one has told The Dandy Cock that times have changed – diners expect more. More finesse, more welcome and less time waiting and less cost. There was nothing to remember about The Dandy Cock. The memory was just that it was unmemorable…!

Phoned in advance (because there were 8 of us) for a family Sunday lunch. Good service, excellent value and good food! We didn't feel rushed at all and had a very enjoyable afternoon. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This is a good friendly pub and it does good grub.The welcome was good and the staff efficient and very polite. Our meals were of good quality and at fair prices. The Christmas burger was very tasty.There is limited parking outside and street parking opposite. The menu is not as big as some but that said its varied and something for everyone.

My first festive meal of the season and it certainly didnt disappoint. Nice atmosphere, good service and lovely food.

Visited here for dinner the first time today I got a warm welcome the food was served quickly and red hot I enjoyed it that much I went back for tea too very reasonably priced too , 😍

Nice pub decor and facilities but a very poor experience with food. Bread was stale, salad contained lots of slimy leaves and the tomatoes were old to the point of being wrinkly and looked like a 4 year old sliced them with a blunt knife. Cannot reccomend. Staff might have been a little more smiley and engaged too rather than immersed in whatever they were doing on their phones.

Lovely well kept pub, we arrived at teatime on a Saturday and found the pub not to be very busy. Food and drinks ordered. Food arrived in a timely manner without any issues and went down well. The drinks selection was only average and this was explained as an extremely busy Friday.
