Called in when visiting town with a friend on a Saturday late afternoon. Received a warm welcome and prompt service from Kevin. Sat in beer garden and enjoyed a good chat and several shots with Steve. Smashing pub, well run, nice decor.

Arrived hungry and were extremely disappointed that they could not serve us as they had recently changed their menu. We then got a takeaway from a local business and returned to sit down and we were greeted with places set for us and plates to use. Amazing friendly owners who couldn't do enough for us.

Quite on weekdays but busy on weekends. Offers free pool from Monday to Wednesday. Staff always seem to be welcoming and friendly.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch today, loads of different vegetables and wonderful friendly service.

Food is amazing! Sunday roast is gorgeous! Beer: 8/10 - Good selection of beers tasty golden ale Atmosphere: Sat outside in the sun on a Sunday was very nice. Staff very nice! Other: Pool table and Darts board. Would recommend!

We popped in for a random lunch out and as we walked into this charming pub, we were pleasantly surprised. Such lovely interior and the food was wonderful! We sat in the beer garden at the back, lovely and green and a nice area to sit and eat. Lovely men at the bar, who even served our food. We would highly recommend.

Always receive excellent service and the food is great.

A great place , centrally located in Sandbach near the famous saxon crosses. Following a very friendly welcome from the bar man we were shown to a table with view over the cobbled square. I ordered the cumberland sausage mash and peas , which was really tasty , my wife ordered a cheese toastie and the best chunky chips on the face of the planet ! No exaggeration , honest .We are already planning our next visit when we are not driving so we can immerse ourselves in The Market Tavern experience fully !

Had Sunday dinner here. It was delicious and good value for money, and it wasn't extra for cauliflower cheese.

Stopped in on Saturday for some lunch, and was looking for a pub that would allow us to take our Dog in with us. The Market Tavern is very accommodating, the owners are very attentive and jolly. The food is sumptuous and generously portioned. All in all a lovely atmosphere and will return sometime in the near future 🐕

I’m a mature male age 20, it was Friday night about 8/9pm. I got declined access to the Tavern because I was wearing black jeggings (black joggers that look like jeans)I think this is absolutely ridiculous since this isn’t close to the higher end pubs, like dv8 which I got allowed into immediately. Terrible experience.

Been a few times for lunch during the week so thought we would try a Sunday lunch. Booked a table (advisable as it was busy) on arrival there was a warm welcome by the owner, a good selection of food available, but we went for a traditional beef Sunday lunch. The food was very nice, well cooked and a good size portion! The staff were really pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. If I could suggest one thing it would be just a few more roast potatoes! Lovely pub and would definitely return again!

We received exactly what we hoped for. A great Sunday lunch after a long journey, a happy experience, all involved were attentive, on the ball, quick, drinks were needed and served straight away. Thoroughly refreshed, in a nice atmosphere. And nice ales. No doubt a return when passing. Thanks to you all.

Called in for lunch. We were given a very warm welcome. Lovely food, and nicely presented. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend, and will definitely return next time we’re in the area.

What a fantastic place to eat, Steve and his partner are great hosts, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the food is delicious we always go for a Sunday lunch with a good choice of roast beef, gammon or chicken, took my family as it was my daughter in laws birthday and they made us all very welcome with lots of little extra touches on the table and a glass of fizz for the ladies 🥰 I would highly recommend this pub, 10/10 thank you for always making us welcome 🤗

What a charming pub , the landlords were the most hospitable people you’ll meet, we were celebrating a friend’s birthday here , Steve the landlord made is some great cocktails and gave us shots.also entertained us with a few stories. This pub is amazingly clean and well cared for. Unfortunately we couldn’t eat as they were fully booked, The prices were very reasonable. We will be returning soon.

Popped in this afternoon and it was very busy but the landlord managed to fit us in for Sunday lunch . I must say it's the nicest Sunday roast I have had in years and we eat out a lot 😋 . Such a warm welcoming pub landlord is amazing very friendly as is the rest of the team . Can't wait to come back very soon and eat again . I really wish this was my local pub other pubs should take note this is how it is done top notch. Great food, great price, great atmosphere, great jam roly poly. 100 percent recommend xx

Had an amazing Sunday roast for £12. Three of us ate. Choice of three meats and a really good plateful. Wonderful tasty roast potatoes, meat and veg. Staff were very kind and helpful in adapting my dads meal to his needs. Highly recommended

Absolute gem of a place. Very tasty food with the best triple cooked chips I’ve ever tasted. Warm friendly service from people who genuinely care. Not pretentious and very homely. Great location and competitive prices. Will definitely be returning!

We called in on spec for Sunday lunch. We were immediately made to feel comfortable and were served straight away. The food was excellent. We had the roast beef and it was cooked to perfection. The general feel of the premises was lovely and this was reflected in the customers with whom we soon struck up conversations and had a friendly dialogue with. We will definitely be visiting again!

Excellent lunch today here. The landlord was a fabulous character, reminded me very much of Paul O' Grady plied everyone with shots of an amazing caramel liqueur - on the house. Would most definitely return when we are next in Sandbach.

Well what a lovely pub. They do good honest food, with one vegan option available and the drinks were reasonably priced as well! The landlord even came around to everybody’s table to have a shot with them. What a wonderful touch from him. It really made my day. Please visit this little place on the cobbles.

The 6 of us had a great day sitting outside in the sunshine on Saturday. Steve and the team were so welcoming and such fun, we went back for Sunday lunch and loads more beer and wine! The food was great, the courtyard out the back pretty, and everything spotlessly clean. Steve is an amazing landlord who made us sooo welcome. 4 of us had never been to Sandbach before and we are coming back in December to enjoy this great pub again!!

Absolutely lovely guys running the bar Food was amazing and extremely good value The chips are proper homemade and the best I have ever had in a pub! Very attentive coming out to see if everything was ok! Keep up the good work guys we will be back!

Popped in sandbach for a beer with the wife on Saturday night, utterly pathetic you can't pay with cash, forcing a cashless society in my opinion.

We had a really delicious meal here today which included a sweet each and drinks.The service was great, as always, and the atmosphere was really chilled. All in all a very pleasant afternoon.

I use to go almost every night to this fantastic beer pub when I lived in Sandbach in the 70’s. Last year, on a trip to Chester from London, I enyoied a pint of Guinnes and a warm and tasty meal. I currently live in Argentina.

User friendly pub. Went on a very hot day, advised to use the garden which had an adjustable shutter roof to provide cover. Food very good with superb chips. Recommended.

Went to try out this place on Wednesday 18th May 2023, I ordered fish and chips and mushys, food was ok, nothing special, however, my gripe was that I was seated at the window seat where the window ledge was completely full of flies, the barmaid was informed of this and she said it was because the windows were open the day before. She did wipe the ledge but still left half of the bugs behind. Not pleasant when eating food, on top of this was a long black hair on my plate which I hadn’t noticed until I hand nearly completed my food. Again, I did inform the barmaid whose response was a lame “oh sorry about that” gents toilet’s also smelled and need a revamp. Will I be visiting this place again, NO THANKS!

Old school pub, one for the drinkers. Not much seating so be prepared to stand up. Big covered beer garden outside where we watched a rat darting about the tables finding his dinner.

We had been in the pub many times for a drink on our visits to Sandbach, on Sunday we booked for the Sunday Dinner and I must say it was very good, fast friendly service, the food as hot & tasted like home cooking. Very well done we will be back soon for another meal

Paid a visit to sandbach today and had lunch at this pub, it was nicely decorated, the two guys running it were very friendly, and suggested a different mixer for my gin which was really bice we had Nacho's to share as a starter and they were so good, to follow we both had roast beef dinner, couldn't fault a thing, was very tasty and a good selection of veg, definitely somewhere we would go back too,. And as a lass from wigan it was nice to meet fellow wiganers,

Quaint classic pub feel, proper homemade chips, very reasonable prices. Fish and chips was actually very good, perfectly cooked, often the fish is dry and batter rock hard, but this was delicate and moist still. Owners/staff were a good laugh and very welcoming. Will absolutely return here.

Still a lovely friendly place to grab a bite to eat and a drink... Comfortable and good food. It was lovely to be back in town so I could pop in for steak & ale pie. Sadly they didn't have but an alternative of steak in a giant Yorkshire was just as tasty. Thanks for the welcome See you next time I am in town :)

Excellent pub, always lovely and clean. Beer is kept nice and very attentive bar staff. I've not eaten here but I've seen food going out to tables and it looks very nice.

Great menu. Homemade chips delish. Soup and sandwich deal. Cant beat it. Gets busy with at the weekend. Large area out the back for bands or whatever. Reasonable prices compared to other locals.

Visited Sandbatch for a wander around this lovely historic little town. Sat on a gorgeous cobbled square we noticed the Market Tavern and called in for lunch. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and exactly what we wanted and very good value. We sat on the tables at the front in the late summer sun. Enjoying the hand-pulled pints, Bliss. Great selection of beers too. Highly recommended and will use again when e are back in Sandbatch near xmas.

Attended a funeral there. Buffet was lovely.

We visited here on the eve of my friend's wedding. As a testament to the popularity of the palace, there was a queue to enter as we were leaving. I feel this speaks volumes as to the venue itself as it's clearly well frequented by the local population The enclosed beer garden is fantastic, lots of cover including a large gazebo There's also a breakout room that was being used as a disco room Lots going on here and lots of potential, I can see why it's popular The drinks range was good, they had beer, cider, gin, wine, vodka, whiskey, sambuca, tequila, rum and loads more to offer too I'm unsure if they do food or not but our party had sandwich platters bought from Costco so I feel that's unlikely

We only went here because of a big crash on M6 which forced us off at J17. It was Fathers Day and even though it was packed, this wonderful pub accommodated all five us. We had trouble finding somewhere to park and the young barman even came out to show us where to park safely just down from the cobbley road. Fish and chips was the pick of the meal which all went down nicely as we were hungry and due to the crash still had two hours left on our journey.

Home made, good quality food, cooked to order, always served piping hot & well presented. Two lovely, well decorated, comfortable dining areas overlooking the Cobbles/Saxon Crosses. Staff, very pleasant, professional, friendly, helpful.

Had the most fabulous Sunday at the most reasonable price place in Sandbach, me and my girlfriend had a wonderful chat with the landlord with a cheeky vimto, I would say hands down the best value and quality service lunch in East Cheshire

As the name suggests this lovely Robinsons pub is on the market square in the historic old part of Sandbach. Had a chat with a very friendly landlord who served an excellent pint of Dizzy Blond. Good start to a day exploring Sandbach.

Friendly staff, bit busy at night on the weekends but during the day or a week day evening its a nice place go with a large outdoor beer garden which is sheltered from the rain

Can fault the place. Went in for Sunday lunch today, food is unpretentious, tasty home cooked fayre and absolutely fantastic value. Also the landlord runs the place with such a genuine warmth and generosity for his guests it's lovely and makes it a great place to visit.
