Impromptu visit to round off an evening out. Outside it was rainy and cold, but the restaurant was warm and cosy. Very few diners were in, and so the room was quiet. We enjoyed attentive service and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Will definitely be back.

Excellent food and professional staff. We booked for New Years Eve in the restaurant and saw the New Year in from there. The two young ladies served us all night and were exceptional. One of them took us over to the hotel as we hadnt been to our room yet. This was way past midnight.

Excellent food & service. In a great spot on the main road. Easy access and lots of parking close by. Great price also. Will definitely be going back.

In the main, out visit to The Cheshire Cat went very well. We were a party of 22, and had pre-ordered our breakfasts, many of which were variations on the menu. This was coped with very well - the food was freshly cooked, and mainly accurate. However, we did not get our hot drinks until well after we finished eating, and some of them were cold. When we asked where they were, we were told that there were only 2 members of staff on duty and they were ‘doing their best’. Whilst we appreciate that this was difficult, having made the booking well in advance, perhaps 1 more member of staff could have been available? Overall, a positive experience, with this one suggestion to improve.

Great surroundings with very eclectic feel. Staff lovely too. Food was a mix of feedback with our group but overall tasty and acceptable. I did enjoy the shin of beef.

Really impressed with the Cheshire Cat, our first time, and hopefully not the last. We had the Sunday Saver option, which includes accommodation, evening three course meal and breakfast, and at £95 it's a no-brainer if staying overnight in Nantwich. The pub itself is quirky, clean, and spacious, though do mind your head on the low beams. Accommodation is excellent, clean, and looks refurbished. The evening meal was plentiful and superb, and the staff were attentive with nothing being too much trouble. The morning breakfast, in which we all had the cooked English, was good, with only slight criticism of the sausage,which though large could have been more meatier in my opinion. All in all, a great experience, and can be highly recommended

The Cheshire Cat is a superb pub and restaurant with a stylish design and a great menu. The building is full of character and the food is of good quality. Easy parking behind the pub where you can use the Ring Go app to park. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the Nantwich area.

The nicest breakfast I've ever had! I had a vegetarian full English and it was flawless. The other people I was dining with had the exact same opinions about their breakfast too. I would recommend a visit here I will be returning.

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous place, with extremely friendly, quick and professional staff. The breakfast was brilliant, crispy hash browns, huge sausage and the toast was great. Choice of well cooked eggs, and white or brown bread. Toilets were clean. Reasonable prices too!

Visited to eat in the restaurant. Food was amazing and priced well. Service was good, but it wasn't busy and we had to wait a while to put in our order as I feel they may have prioritised the bar over the restaurant as that was very busy, so service could potentially be slow if it was busy in the restaurant as well. But overall, an enjoyable visit and would return.

Very nice breakfast food and service at a covered table outside with infra red heater over. The ordering app could be a put of for a non techy like me, especially the first time and if used infrequently. It wasn't too busy though and the excellent, friendly waitress was happy to take the order and payment at the table.

Very nice food, we also stayed over in the hotel section. Rooms were clean and comfy.

We took our dog with us and were very welcomed by both Nichola and Kasey. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The atmosphere was great and the food was lovely. We will definitely be going back there soon. Thank you 😊

We stayed over for three nights at The Cheshire Cat, and it was a really great place. Nichola was our main point of contact, and she was fantastic to deal with. Helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for her, a really great ambassador for the hotel.

We stopped for dinner and it was lovely. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the chicken and ham pie. Bothered were perfect!

Cheshire Cat black &white building 2mins to Nantwich town, lovely place plenty of history,CAT food lovely floors are uneven upstairs but all part of charm of this lovely building,3 original stone steps were used to board coaches in 17th century,still outside,I used to run up & jump off as 4 Yr old great fun,great town.parking at back +2mins to car park.

Popped in for an early evening meal. Good choice of food. We both had 3 courses and drinks. Came to just under £100 so can't grumble with that. Everything we had was very tasty, with good size portions as well. The Bao Buns starter was brilliant.

Came to the Cat for our daughters 18th. Upon arrival, Helena and Nic were brilliant. They had set up a great seating area to accommodate us all and decorated it perfectly. Their attention to look after us throughout the meal, we really couldn't expect them both to do any more! A credit to the establishment.

Lovely catch up with work/ex work buddies. Got a lovely table in the conservatory looking out on the back bbq area. Great service, tasty food. Would highly recommend

Where can I start? From the minute we arrived for a two night stay on the Friday evening to check out on Sunday morning, NOTHING was too much trouble for the staff at this amazing location. The dinner on the Friday evening (where we were looked after by the lovely restaurant manageress) was delicious and first class as well as being reasonably priced. The breakfasts were also very good and served very quickly. We were given a history of the building by the very knowledgeable restaurant manageress which we found fascinating. The room was lovely and clean, plenty of hot water for showers, all in all, a first class place and I have no hesitation of recommending it. Thank you so much to all who helped make this stay wonderful.

Good location. Friendly staff. Rooms nicely decorated and clean and comfortable. Breakfast full English very good and friendly service. Reasonably priced. Would recommend more information given to guests upon arrival re: facilities and where to go for breakfast etc. Some staff friendly but not very informed. Need directions re car parking access before arrival as no signage on main road. Would stay again.

Food is very good and reasonably priced which is a great thing g these days. We could hear the music from the jazz festival so it was a good experience.

Great place for a romantic meal or just to chill out. The food is brilliant with good portions my fish was the size of a whale, with most of the chips hidden under it. The outside booths are great to chill out in but you won't get chilly as they have heaters in

I had a one night stay here while away for business and I can say I’ve not had a experience like this in a long time, the building is beautiful and full of history, they’ve done such a good job with the decor and mixing traditional and modern. Checking in was superb and the gentleman offered to take my bags which I cant remember the last time that was offered! His customer service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble(male with ginger hair, sorry can’t remember his name). The rooms are good but a few snagging bits needed such as old furniture and old blinds however great space, great bathroom and amazing bed which was huge. I had boneless chicken thighs for a start and a crispy beef salad for a main and they were delicious, service again was amazing and kudos to the chef. The next morning I had scrambled eggs on toast, again great service and was not waiting long for the food. If I am ever to visit Nantwich again I would be sure to stay here and fully recommend to others to pop in for some food, drink or a stay! Oh and free parking!

We stayed last weekend, Saturday night 17th Feb, after being at a 40th birthday meal...Nothing but gr8 comments to leave here! lovely pub, fab decor, very quirky, very accommodating, entertained aswel with the pub DJ, a bonus :) lovely staff, gr8 breakfast, good nights sleep We was abit worried after reading reviews of noise from the nightclub, but didn't hear anything And we will definitely return :) xx

As I had not been in The Chesire cat in 30 odd years ,I thought I'd try out the restaurant. Lovely staff,nice and polite to talk to. The full English breakfast was cooked perfectly. Best breakfast I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend eating there.

On a not very busy day the table service was slow. Food prep and speed of ordering to eating was great and the food was really nice. Shame the actual ordering, clearing of table and drink delivery were slow. Variety of food was good but vegan options limited; burger or pea risotto needs some rethink. Accessibility for older people or disabled may be difficult. The building is very old and uneven floors, whilst wonderfully characterful, will provide some challenge. In all definitely a place to visit and enjoy good food in a wonderful old building.

Only one star because the beer is good. We visited the bar area on a Friday evening, and were very disappointed with the music from the DJ. A constant stream of old, outdated, unimaginative "classics" from 30, 40, 50 years ago. Maybe someone needs to visit other venues to understand what makes a great venue come alive. Plus the sound quality was really bad. Could do so much better for Nantwich.

I booked lunch at the CC for 9 of us between Christmas and New Year; we had to preorder food and pay a £5 deposit per person. Everyone I spoke to on the phone and in the pub was great, very friendly and efficient. The food was great and we had a quiet table upstairs which worked well as it was a family gathering and we hadn't seen each other since Easter, so we had lots to talk about. Would definitely recommend 👌

We ate here on boxing day, it was absolutely amazing, the food was absolutely delicious and the service friendly. Would highly recommend The cheshire cat.

Been going this place for year and always had a good experience, until lately they have a new person working behind the bar who hasn't got a clue who is next to be served despite being told he insisted on serving people he knew first causing me and my wife to walk out. Worst barman ever!!

Review applies to the hotel on a Saturday night We stayed for less than one night. The room was small but clean, though it was weird that the bathroom door didn't reach the ceiling. The issue was the incredible volume of music coming from the pub (DJ and karaoke) until past 1am and even when that finished the bass from the nightclub down the road was far too loud to even try to sleep. Left at 0130 to drive home.

I phoned the Cat to check booking and the receptionist was amazing. Explaining parking, taxis, road closures and upgrade. When booking in found this amazing lady was called Nichola. We had a great time seeing friends. The breakfasts were enormous and delicious. Thank you.

We booked a large table for a works leaving meal, around 10 of us. Food was pre-ordered a few days before our meal and a £5 deposit per head was taken. This is quite understandable in current circumstances with people cancelling etc, however a pain for the organiser trying to work out who pays what!!!The food came at the same time for the whole group, so we were able to eat together rather than waiting. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals. However it was clear that some menu items had larger portions than others even with similar prices.The service was hit and miss, the table was not cleared for some time after we’d eaten. Also, some waitresses were happy to take drink orders at the table, whereas one (quite rude) waitress kept sending people to the bar themselves.

My husband,my friend and I arrived for a meal and was shown to a table with the air conditioning right behind us. It was very cold! We then tried to find another table without the cold air which was difficult! The restaurant became very noisy as the main course arrived. The service was good and the waitresses were very polite and helpful. The food was ok but pricey especially the desserts so we went home and had our own! The stairs were not very clean which was not inviting!

Great place and the staff were BRILLIANT!! We needed to stay another night as an emergency and they could not have been more accommodating. So lovely and helpful. Little things let it down such as the noisy nightclub next door. The breakfast was ok not amazing but the rest of the food was great value and the staff made up for it. Thank you ALL for looking after us.

Stayed two nights sat/sun food was excellent on the saturday but sunday was poor we went to the bar at 20.30 to order food only to be told that they had stopped serving food even though it’s says on the menu that they serve food until 21.00 so left to get food somewhere else but returned at 22.05 to the bar and was told they had stopped serving drinks even though it states in the hotel information that they serve till midnight on sunday and on their website

Had an excellent time at the Cheshire Cat, food was amazing and was served by a lovely lady called Keira who was very attentive and friendly. Thank you to Keira for making our visit so pleasant.

We stayed in an apartment which was very well maintained and comfortable. The customer service was excellent and the hotel is located very well in relation to road links and Nantwich town centre. Dedicated parking for guests is available 🤙

Great food very poor service - not so much the speed of food as once ordered it can in a reasonable amount if time. Took over 20 minutes to take order and over 30 minutes once we finished main course to pay - no waiter returned to us at any point for over 1 hour. We had to go to the bar to get the bill. We wanted a desert but because of the poor service we did not want to risk further slow service. Must reiterate the food was very good !

Rude staff-, filthy outside area with cigarette butts scattered around. Staff were uninterested and did the bare minimum. Won’t be re visiting this venue and lots of better venues to go to in Nantwich

Lovely pub / hotel with quiet comfy rooms & great shower. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. Special thank you to Nichola & Carmen who sorted us out with a super breakfast as we were a little late! Would recommend thus

I was really disappointed with a visit for lunch yesterday, having eaten at the Cat on a number of occasions I recommend it for lunch with friends and my 5 year old. Staff were uninterested and did not seem to notice we we’re there. They served my 5 year olds drink in a pint glass which of course spilt on the table and a waitress who literally came to the table didn’t even offer to bring a cloth no attempt to clean it so I had to get tissues and do it myself. I then had to ask for a smaller glass. I don’t understand how they charge £5 for a kids meal and don’t include a drink ? We didn’t get asked about dessert for her even though this was included but at this point we were happy to leave. Completely get that the industry has struggled and service is naturally limited but this was so poor and not asking us anything about condiments etc . I won’t be returning or recommending that any of my friends or family do. The outside area had cigarette butts scattered on the floor while others were sat outside eating some with children in high chairs just filthy . Clean up your act Cheshire Cat. Lighting inside non existent dark and dingy it appears they give the impression they don’t want customers.

Stayed for one night. all good , the room guide was tatty, needs replacing, no big deal. Nice shower, comfy bed, air conditioning free parking ( a boon in Nantwich)

Popped in for some lunch the other day and was greeted with a very warm welcome from the lovely Sam, the food was top notch as usual compliments to the chef. The only criticism is for a member of staff, a tall blonde girl who I believe was the manager, she walked around with face like Donald Trump moving out the white house and we could hear her shouting at the staff while we were trying enjoy the lovely tapas. On the way out the same member of staff barged past us and nearly knocked my poor Maggie off her feet. What a shame.

Another amazing meal prepared by Carl , definitely the best chef in Cheshire 👌👌👌 Would recommend the lasagne , salad and garlic bread 👊. Fab service and great atmosphere 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Visited here with a group of friends yesterday to watch the match. I was greeted by a lovely lady called Sam who looked after us during our visit. It was very busy but she was still very efficient and checked up on us several times to make sure everything was okay. Prices for drinks were very reasonable given the service provided and i plan on visiting the cat again for the next england match.

Would like to give 4 1/2, food was nicely presented and tasty, prices were towards the higher end for pub food, service was quick. Ordering was done via an online app for both food and drinks. Would go back again if we are ever in the area.

My daughter and I visited just before opening time and were welcomed and seated by Nicola who was an excellent member of staff. Committed and obliging to every request. Scrambled eggs plus bacon on toast was delicious and also great coffees. We were offered seating outside which felt like being on holiday and the booths looked really nice for an evening or Sunday lunch. Excellent venue, food snd service. Thanks so much.

I visited here with my hubby today and was greeted by a lovely young lady called Sam, I’m not very tech savvy so she helped me with the online ordering system and provided us top notch service during our visit. We ordered some tapas which I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting here and was seated in a lovely spacious courtyard that allowed us to soak up some of this lovely weather we’ve been having.

First time back in The Cat but the same great service we know. The tapas is recommended, especially Salt & Pepper chicken with the chilli jam. Thank you to Jess who looked after us; friendly, efficient and an asset to the team.

Visited Friday evening for dinner and had such a lovely evening! The manager Joe managed to squeeze us in last minute, which was very much appreciated! The service we received in the main upstairs restaurant was second to non! Jessica who was looking after us was very accommodating and polite! Would highly recommend the salt & pepper chicken and halloumi fries! Thanks again for looking after us x

First time back in the cat after lockdown, having drinks with a few friends. Served by Grace who was extremely helpful and friendly! She made us feel safe with the new COVID regulations.

I visited here for some food and drinks with my family, I felt very safe with all their covid protocols and was very glad to be sat inside. I could see they were very busy but regardless our waitress Sam gave us excellent service, kept us updated and was very helpful answering the questions I had about the menu. When the food arrived, it looked amazing and tasted even better!!! Already planing our next visit here.

Spent a few hours here for my brothers 50th birthday. Outside booth excellent and warm. Service from all the staff was great, especially Keira. Food and drinks served with a smile and very tasty.

Stayed here overnight. Had a news apartment for 4 of us. Price didnt vary by number of guests. In the end only two of us stayed but could easily of had 5/6 of us comfortably Very clean and everything you need for a short break or one of night. Unfortunately due to restrictions breakfast was not on offer so price was reduced. Easy check in /out but would of been nice to get room a bit earlier. Lots of parking

I used to come to eat a lot here around 2013 and felt it was a little overrated. However, since a trip in December for a Christmas Turkey Sandwich with my mum, I've completely changed my mind! The food is amazing and the service is so friendly. I now eat there regularly and ALWAYS get the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. It's so good! And really good value for money. Definitely recommend!

i booked a table with friends for drinks and food. i have been a few times for drinks and have enjoyed it however on arrival i was greeted by a lady (think her name was jess). i was greeted with a very cold welcome and felt this particular staff member was abrupt and rude. i understand times are stressful and we have limits of group of six however me and two others in our group were left feeling very uncomfortable. i dont think i will be returning again as i felt things were too much of an ask and communication was very poor

Had lunch here today with my parents.Nice clear COVID arrangements with one way system in and out of pub.Lovely little courtyard within the pub - cosy but spacious.All staff masked up and very pleasant - not a bad word to say about any of them, only caught one name, Jess, who was very helpful.Menu looked good - we all had Sunday Roast Beef which came with Yorkshire, Roast and Dauphinoise potatoes, creamy spinach and carrots. Delicious.Great service, great food and as it happens great weather too.We’ll be back soon.

I visited the cat today with my partner and was greeted by a lovely young lady called sam, she showed us to our seats and looked after us during our visit. The food was delicious and the heated booth kept us warm. Thanks for the amazing service, we can’t wait to return!!

Please make sure you know where they are going to seat you when you book a table outside. We assumed we would be in the lovely courtyard with nice lighting and plenty of heaters. Instead they stuck us in a freezing cold gazebo with only one heater that didn't make any difference and no atmosphere at all. Might as well have had a bag of chips on a park bench!!! Very disappointing and totally ruined our evening,

Very disappointed in tonight’s experience. My friends and I booked a table outside on the understanding that we would have a heater. However, we were given the only table without a heater. When we complained, we were told there was nothing that could be done. We then realised that the table leg was falling off & asked for the table to be swapped. We were told there was nothing wrong with the table, it was just the uneven ground. I had to demonstrate to the waitress that the leg was falling off. Our meals were then served onto the broken table. We had to ask again for it to be swapped, disrupting our meal. The food was average - a Christmas dinner with no cranberry sauce. At the end of the meal we tried to order hot drinks. We all fancied a mince pie, but as the pub only serves caffeinated coffee, we asked if we could have a hot chocolate & a mince pie. The waitress said she would see what she could do, but then brought the drinks with no mince pies and no explanation/ apology. I asked whether we were allowed a mince pie and she said no, because the chef has already finished for the night. Does it really require a chef to take a mince pie out of a box and put it on a plate?Very poor customer service & very disappointing, as we have eaten here many times before, but won’t return.
