The Dandelion Tavern in Knowsley

Becky got the morning going by allowing me to open a window on the Festive calendar. Whilst waiting for my family to arrive, i sat back and enjoyed my paper with a coffee. The staff and gorgeous food make this place!! My family enjoyed a cooked brekkie and drinks that accompanied the food. We laughed a lot, reflecting on good times. Erin ( member of staff) passed a comment that set us off laughing again! What a morning of pleasure and bonhomie! The Christmas cocktail rounded off a memorable time. I make Friday an unmissable regime save for holidays…..don’t ever change you wonderful staff! Merry Christmas to one and all!

Fabulous food which was excellent quality and really hot. The staff were lovely and very attentive without being overpowering. I can highly recommend the cronton pie it was delicious. Lovely atmosphere for a family meal, will definitely be back

We came in for a family meal, service was perfect as always. George and Becky served us. It was very busy but staff were still incredibly attentive. The cronton pie is always a winner. Would highly recommend!

Booked on Saturday night for x 2 and I have to say from initially walking in to getting seated straight away, the food was lovely and the service was spot on too. The food was hot which we both like, I can’t stand luke warm food when it gets to my table. The waiter and waitress who served us were very good. Portion sizes, quality and price was on point. They had a live singer on who wasn’t too loud and was decent too.(something which can be annoying when having dinner) Well done, would recommended.

Fabulous bustling place. I live in Wells in Somerset but I am from Liverpool and I haven’t seen a place so alive in years. The French Martinis were fantastic and the food was hot, huge and delicious.

Have been here quite a few times but they change the menu so it can be disappointing, at the end of the day it’s a pub and food prices are a little to high but the food is very nice

Give this a miss! Customers allowed to use vapes around you, billowing vapour whilst you're eating your meal. Not pleasant.

We had been recommended to visit the Dandelion and we were not disappointed and we will certainly go to eat there again. The service by Georgia, Rob and Paige was fab, nothing was too much trouble and as for the food it was gorgeous! Really fresh and tasty, two of us had the chicken roast, (the chicken was beautiful & not a bit dry) and one of us had the pie, which again was excellent. We would definitely recommend The Dandelion Tavern for a visit. Ps.... the music being played was brilliant!

Avoid if your party includes vegans or has dietary requirements. Although we had preordered (!) a vegan option for our family lunch two days in advance, we were informed as we sat down at our table that the burger bun wasn’t vegan and that the chips are cooked in the same oil as the fish. So instead of the preordered vegan burger with chips they served a vegan burger patty between two slices of bland toast with some salad leaves. Poorly organised kitchen and management clearly has no understanding of customer requirements.

We arrived early and ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. This is the second visit that fruit for my cocktail has been picked up by hand and added to my drink. The server had just been touching dirty serving trays and rubbing her ear. Surely tongs can be provided? Once seated we waited a long time to order but then it was very busy. We ordered drinks and the wrong drinks arrived. Although we pointed this out no effort was made to change them. The Cronton pies were overcooked with very hard pastry and the veg was stone cold. Very poor. Not the best atmosphere as people were complaining about waiting to order food. The table either side were up and down asking for someone to take an order. We didn’t order dessert or more drinks as we could wait to leave. Waited an age for the bill. Staff are usually very cheerful but looked stressed and running around. Not the best experience. .

We haven’t been to the Dandelion for a while. Last time we went they had run out of Yorkshire puddings (how dare they). We had a table booking for 6.15pm. The pub was busy and when we were seated we were advised that they had run out of roast potatoes 🙈 but were informed they were cooking more and they would be ready in about 10 minutes. No problem , we ordered our drinks and were happy to wait. Our server was pleasant and confirmed our order was in and would be ready soon. Meals were served,- beautiful beef, the vegetable's were a bit cold for my liking but I love my food piping hot. An extra serving of gravy is very welcomed and the cauliflower cheese was lovely but not sure it was worth an extra £3.50. My only gripe was the roast potatoes - I cannot believe they were freshly made. I had 3 on my plate and it was like eating toenails, I love a crispy potato but they were awful. I couldn’t even get my knife through the 3rd one. Desserts were good.

Excellent food, great value, staff so friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit. Rocky Road Sundae was delicious

We're 2 old friends who came to the Dandelion for an early dinner. We were both so impressed not only with the menu, but especially with the warm welcome, the service and the food. It was a busy Tuesday evening but our server ( a young guy, so sorry we didn't catch his name) was excellent, attentive, kept us updated about when our food would arrive and really looked after us. The food was lovely, an Italian chicken and a vegeburger. We had such a great time at the Dandelion, we'd have no hesitation in recommending it and will definitely be back. We'll remember for sure next time that it's not possible to add a tip to the card payment, but will bring cash. Also note the car parking is limited.

very pleasant pub if you are into craft or unusual beers this place seemed to have a very good selection it is a large pub but a bit limited on parking spaces we just opted for the lighter option meals . the chicken in wraps where very good ,complete with a portion of chip and some coleslaw The salt and pepper fries while being nice where a bit underwhelming in that they were the normal fries with a few very small slices of peppers ,also a bit pricy the mocktails they had very were very good as well so to some up on the whole very good and we will return

I just want to say you never fail to please. We've just had a really lovely relaxed Sunday dinner with my family for my birthday. It was a lovely feeling when the whole restaurant joined in with 'Happy birthday' as my cake was brought to me. The food was excellent and we weren't rushed. You really have struck the right note in making customers feel special, not just a £ sign. Thank you

I and a few friends meet once a year for a Christmas lunch out washed down with a few beers and The Dandelion delivered an excellent Christmas dinner. Great friendly service from the staff and the beers on offer were good. Would highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff for making a great afternoon even better.

We were visiting Widnes from Lincolnshire and chose to go to the Dandelion Tavern for our Sunday lunch. We were delighted with everything about our experience. We had a warm welcome from the staff and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional. We both agreed that the roast beef was superb and everything on the plate was excellent. At a reasonable price for a two course meal we wish we could eat there regularly!

Staff are polite and attentive but not overbearing. It’s dog friendly so is great if you have been for a local walk then pop in for something to eat and a pupiccino. Food is lovely and reasonably priced. Always a firm favourite with our family. Thanks to Dan P and Kie for the service today

We have been meaning to visit for a good while. So we booked a table & off the 3 of us went. On 1st impressions very nicely kept pub & a nice friendly welcome. Starters of chicken liver pate 👍, goat's cheese tart, a little disappointing ( a bit bland) tempura chicken very nice. Dandy burger, fish & chips, free ranger pie. Mushy peas were a little dry. But all in all reasonable food in pleasant surroundings, with pleasant staff. Will definitely visit again.
