Changed name to the Bell Tower. Refurbished recently.

Good food, good beer. Very amicable bar staff. This pub is very dog friendly. I've been a fair few times just for a pint too as it has a nice beer garden

Really happy we came here: the atmosphere was just right, and the was both delicious and beautifully presented. Also, we must give a special five star mention to Ellie, who did everything in her power to ensure our visit was perfect.

The dining room was clean and tidy, the fish and chips were good, the service staff were less attentive but still friendly.

Although not disputing the food , it was good , Went for Sunday roast to be told they don’t do it in summer, most disappointed we still eat there. The shock for me was the price £80 for two and that’s with no pudding. I had a med glass of red , my friend had a caraf But you had to pay extra for your veg at £7 a pop ….. Sorry but at the end of the day, this is a fancy pub , not a fancy restaurant!

Roasts are 10/10! I had the vegan smoked tofu wellington and it was divine. The pub has lovely decor and a nice atmosphere too so will definitely be back. The staff were so lovely and service was quick :)

I can't say anything negative about this place!! My first interaction was with a really helpful barmaid when my partner and I got locked out of our apartment we were staying in for the weekend! She kindly let us use her phone and sorted out our drama! Thanks so much :) Then on the Sunday we had booked to have a roast here... wow!! I always compare every roast I have out with a famous little pub in Bristol with a 2 year waiting list for roast ... well Daddy Longlegs has beaten it hands down!! The beef was tender and cooked to perfectio , totally gorgeous! The roast potato's tasted amazing- so crispy with a rosemary flavour. Pigs in blankets were ginormous and the cauli cheese with bacon was a massive portion and obviously so good! We sat in a little conservatory area overlooking the garden. Very pretty. Garden was great too, all fresh and clean, swing seat and a sun trap in the summer I imagine! For days after and even now, my partner and I will say to each other "that roast...." because it was so good! Gutted we don't live closer as this would become a regular event! Thanks guys, oh and the staff were amazing too, really friendly waitresses!

Sept 2022 update: slightly disappointing Sunday roast (hopefully an anomaly). Lovely dog/kid friendly pub, very good food (excellent Sunday roast), small garden, occasional live music.

A group of 10 met for Sunday lunch after the Brighton Half Marathon. Good ales, roast lunch served efficiently and courteously by attentive staff. The cauliflower cheese was amazing. A real pub, just up from Brighton Marina with its “chain” restaurants.

Good food , amazing service highly recommend

Just moved to the area and this is our closest pub. Great service, very friendly and accomodating, they want to make you feel at home. Like the fact its dog friendly. We joined the quiz and the quizmaster was delightful! We will be back regularly---- very reasonable drink prices too :-)

Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Food was good quality, good portions and good value. The place has a nice atmosphere not over crowded. We really enjoyed our first visit and will be going back. Would definitely recommend.

Exceptional food and very friendly accommodating staff.

Food and service 5 star can not fault it. But I do not like eating with so many dogs and some sitting at the table .

Great Sunday lunch. The steak was perfect.

Service was good at the beginning. The food was good but overpriced for the Vegetarian options. No single portions of cauliflower cheese available either as an add on. I had the table reserved until 14.30. At 14.00 the waitress came over and just said we need the table in 5 minutes. This completely ruined the experience. So we quickly asked for the bill and paid. We were getting our coats on and they were clearing the table around us. Didn’t even wait for us to leave.

The food here is amazing. They offered a range of small plates (think tapas) of inspired and technically excellent dishes, which we shared. All were excellent, whether meat, fish or vegetable. Even their fries were remarkable. Service was attentive and friendly, and the dining area comfortable and convivial. There was live music (the artist was Sonny B) who had an impressive vocal range and repertoire of covers, who successfully entertained a full house without detracting from the dining experience . In all a thoroughly enjoyable evening, representing good value and one I would be happy to repeat.

Whether it's their slap-up Sunday lunch or the creative small plates on their frequently changing menu, you'll struggle to find better food in Brighton - and you definitely won't find a warmer welcome or nicer staff than Laura and her team. Consistently excellent food, fabulous service and a cosy vibe - it's the very definition of a hidden gem. We still can't believe we're lucky enough to have it as our local!

A very well run place with great friendly staff and they have great live music.

The food is small plates menu. As vegetarian and vegan we felt slightly restricted with options. However the food was incredibly tasty and plentiful. The tenderstem brocoli was perfect a definite favourite. The atmosphere was relaxed but fun. The service was quite slow but our waitress was friendly enough.

Disappointed with the choice of roast. The menu used to have roast beef and pork belly. The choice now is steak or pork chop. Which is not really a roast dinner.

Top banana! Excellent staff tied in with good food - Wednesday night is jazz night and it was perfect. Theusic wasn't too loud which is fantastic.. We're going back tomorrow for more excellent food👍

I like garlic but not to the extent everything is literally covered in it.. we’ve been a few times but even if we can have an option of no garlic would be great.. or not so much! My breath knocked my cat out when I got home!

We only stumbled by this place but were glad we did. We only intended to stop by for a drink in the garden but then saw everyone else's roast dinners and were tempted to stay for lunch. We hadn't booked, but they do recommend booking to avoid disappointment. My boyfriend and I shared a Roast Chicken and Roast Beef, the chicken was juicy and the beef was perfectly cooked and pink in the middle. The Yorkshire puddings were huge, and it was nice to be given extra gravy without asking. Potatoes could've been slightly better and would've been nice to have a bit more veg but overall a really nice roast.

Slightly pricey drinks like London but atmosphere tonight is flowing with magic jazz and swing vibes from Harry’s Tricks band. Room for dancing too. Easy to see how this can turn into a swinging party. Recommend.

GREAT NIGHT OUT WITH LIVE MUSIC! I went with a friend to Daddy Longlegs for the first time last night (Saturday) and was treated to live music which we hadn't expected to be on. The group were great and sang 80s music - even I got up to dance (a rarity) as the atmosphere was so great. The bar staff said the same group gig there doing gospel songs on Sundays so we look forward to seeing them again soon and seeing more live music on Saturdays. We will definitely be back! LOVELY FRIENDLY STAFF. Thank you for a great night! :)

Very disappointing roast dinner

A perfect evening. Pleasant surroundings, Delicious and varied food to share , as we were 8 we had all the small plates, some twice over, lovely service, great live music, not too loud, all for just about £30 per person including drinks. Thank you, Can't wait to go back.

I'm not drinking alcohol at the minute but the rhubarb lemonade was perfect, thanks for suggesting it. Nice 'lemon curd cheescake' pudding - a tasty version, with granola and fruit and no heavy biscuit base. Lovely.

Had a really nice vegan roast was delicious … staff really friendly and place is immaculate .. dog friendly too .. only critics not just lacks a bit of atmosphere but definitely one of the best Sunday roasts in Brighton

Fab Sunday roast today at the DLL. Super delicious veggie roast for me, and friends were also v pleased with the pork and the beef. Extra gravy provided automatically. Fantastic service and friendly staff. 10/10 thanks so much - will be back!

Great Mike Potter and Harry's Tricks jazz band playing! They play every Wednesday evening 7.30 till 9.30pm. Was such a lovely atmosphere :)

Been in Brighton 7 years and this is by far the next Roast I’ve had so far. I got the pork. It literally melted in my mouth. Was also crispy in the right places. So good.

The Daddy Longlegs is a lovely pub tucked away in Kemptown. It has a great atmosphere (not a loud and rowdy pub).. its a nice place to go for an evening or afternoon with your loved one or family. The service is impeccable- they have a wonderful selection of orange wines, white wines, reds etc and a small plates menu which varies from week to week. My favourite pub in Brighton. #forgrownfolksonly

This used to be an old man's pub so I appreciate change is good but it's more of a wine bar than a boozer. However the garden is excellent!!

Visited Fri 3/3/23 7;30pm. Walked in and was immediately asked if I had a reservation, instead of "What can I get you?". "No, just here for a drink" was not the answer she wanted. Even though I was the only person at the bar I was told to stand away so she had room to make drinks orders. No draught Guinness, just the old bottles. For the price of a full pint. The tables were all full of large groups eating, or reserved. I was told there might be a table for two people to sit at. There was going to be three of us. Swiftly diverted my friend and partner to go elsewhere, necked my bottle and left. This is not a pub. It thinks it's a bistro. They were even playing the sort of 1950s french jazz that Nigella thinks is cool for her shows (Pretentious?......Moi?) Only gave it a second star as the decor isn't awful. A crane fly has big legs and a small body. This bar has big pretentions and is small on delivery.

Visited here last Saturday, having read some reviews I was a little aprehensive there was no need to be fair. The atmosphere here is comfortable and welcoming, the menu is not overbearing like a lot of places like this. |You take a table then order at the bar for your drinks and meal and this is the only thing that i would change. The food is really good and of a high quality, not only the finished meal but the raw ingredients. Price is very good for the qualiy of meal

Nice pub. We visited on a Sunday. Roast pork and cauliflower cheese was very tasty. Staff are very pleasant. However, wouldn’t recommend for vegan food… we thought nearly fifteen pounds for half an Aubergine, one carrot, some Cabbage and three Roast Potatoes was a bit steep! Also, disappointed that there was only one dessert on the menu, especially as previous reviews mentioned how great the desserts are.

Amazing Sunday Roast, highly recommended, leave space for the fab deserts. A cut above the rest perfect after a blowy winter seafront walk.

Love this pub! Amazing selection of natty wines and a small.plates menu that changes all the time. Delicious flavours and food combinations and really reasonably priced for what you get. Service is fantastic too. I also went for a roast on Sunday and it was epic, make sure you book in advance though because it can be hard to get in if you leave it too late. Big ups the Daddy crew, I'll be back!

I came here yesterday with 2 friends for the Sunday roast. It was really tasty and there was plenty of choice. I had the chicken, my friends had the lamb and the pork loin, which came out the kitchen fairly quickly. Didn’t think there was much choice for desert. With an alcoholic drink and the roast it came to around £22 each.

Oyster mushrooms are to die for! A great collection of veggie dishes for us veggies, but the meat dishes looked amazing too! Coming again soon for sure! Service was great, atmosphere was wonderful, and the like be jazz band was magical!

Nice atmosphere, but it’s lost its edge in the last few months. For the price of drinks, not refrigerating mixers and soft drinks really cannot be justified as “it’s name cause we are a wine bar”.

Overall very nice place, food is good. I was surprised at the lack of cocktail choice, as they also run the plotting parlour in town. Still a great place otherwise :).
