Bagelman in Brighton and Hove

apologies to the other customers and also their children after I loudly cursed in joy after the server told me they could very easily cater to my coeliac disease, preparing a gluten free bagel in a separate area. Also it was delicious. God I love halloumi. NB: I had an americano with cow's milk after they informed me they use Oatly milk (does contain small amounts of gluten) with their machines, so was advised against, and was very happy to check the cartons to confirm.

So happy to have found this little gem! Freshly made bagels with lots to choose from and caiters for gluten free! Delicious! A must visit! Really friendly customer service too. I wish there was more space to eat in

Delicious bagels with so many veggie options. The bagels themselves are made in store, fresh and delicious. You also have the option to build your own which is perfect. There can be a queue and a bit of a wait when it’s busy, but it’s worth it!

Banging bagels!! I'm currently following a strict FODMAP diet so my options for lunch are pretty restrictive. I was so chuffed to see they had gluten free bagels, and when I asked about other ingredients, the server was amazing. She knew exactly what I was looking out for and customised my filling for me. I went in feeling a bit embarrassed and left feeling relaxed and nicely full! Super friendly staff and mega tasty food.

Missing a New York bagel I gave this place a try. The bakes are the best I've had while in England thus far and they even came with a side order of that curt Uber direct attitude that is reminiscent of the big apple

Really friendly staff, always busy when I go in and the staff still manage to have a conversation whilst taking your order and making sure everyone is catered too. Very good in all areas! Too bad the seagulls like the bagels as much as I do and will definitely fight you for them!

gerat little bagel store with various options (often limited offers e.g. for xmas). you can opt for take-away or dine inside. they don’t have a lot of space, however while waiting for our order, a seat might come available. We ordered a seasonal bagel with turkey and a simple cream-cheese bagel. both bagels could haven been toasted a bit longer, the xmas bagel didn’t feel much toasted. the cream-cheese wasn’t enough unfortunately. I still feel that 4 stars are justified due to the various options you can select from and the lovely atmosphere.

Lox deluxe is the best bagel ever 💯👌🏻

While I’m well aware this photo does not do this bagel sandwich justice, I have to show it off! I ordered the Ruben with cream cheese and a few bites of this took me out of my depressive slump straight into a joy-filled day. I’ve found it difficult to find a good bagel, but Bagelman hits the spot EVERY TIME.

I've been eating at Bagelman since 2007 and even though I don't live in Brighton any more I always try and stop in when I'm passing through. Their in-house bagels are delicious high quality, and their vegan options have come a long way! Fillings are always fresh and generous. Only marking down one star as I do find the prices quite high but I guess that's just life now.

Bucket up for one hell of a bagel. The sheer selection is incredible and I can personally recommend the onion bagel with the tower option.

Delicious bagels. I went with 2 friends and we all ordered twice. The funky tuna and the lox deluxe were perfect, and their coffee is the bomb. It's an extremely busy post-pride Sunday so the service is a little slow but everyone's waiting patiently and I think it's because they know how good this place is. I can't wait to come back!

Bester Bagel, lohnt sich immer !

I ordered from this place when I was hungover but left devastated. I ordered a tuna mayo mozzarella melt and cucumber bagel with, it came with no cucumbers and had a hair in it. Other than the hair it was only tuna mayo and a tiny bit of cheese. They also forgot my drink :( still giving them a 2/5 thought because I don’t wanna be harsh, I’m up for giving them another go. Just so heartbroken about my bagel 💔

I eat here a lot for my lunches. Great value for great bagels. Normally go for the reuben which is perfectly balanced in flavours. The only reason for not getting 5 stars is that the food is inconsistent. Sometimes they nail the toasting, seaonsing and placement of the ingredients but I've had a few recently which feel rushed and don't quite hit the mark. I'll still be a regular though

Used to love this place but recently the prices have just gotten to the other side of unreasonable. To top it off I just got yelled at by an employee, because I was momentarily distracted by a message on my phone and didn’t hear her call my order.

The Ruben with jalapeño bagel was great. It could have done with some extra mustard. The vegan feast was also decent but nothing to write home about. Definitely worth the money but could certainly pack more of a punch!

We enjoyed breakfast here so much, we could custom our bagels by select type of bagels, meat and sauce. During staff being cook our meal, the smell of bagels reach us as appetizer.

Ordered bagel with no mayo via deliveroo. Bagel had mayo in it and wasnt even sliced in half.

Great vegan bagel options! I had the BLT and it was really tasty. There are some other good looking vegan options too. I like that the shop is locally run and that the bagels are fresh. It’s a small shop with limited seating, but great for take away. The bagels are well made and the staff are very friendly! Worth checking out!

I just ate the salt beef bagel here, and it is absolutely delicious, probably the tastiest thing I have eaten all year. Yesterday at the Hove branch I ate the pastrami bagel, they had run out of salt beef, and that was delicious too. Seems the salt beef one, which isn't on the menu, is in demand by all those who know and I hear they sell out early in the morning, hence why I drove to this one today. Next will be the lox bagel for me. I know it is going to be delicious. The service is excellent, and I felt very welcomed each time I have visited. The seating area is clean and you can sit at the window seat and watch the world go by. Ive been eating bagels all my life, and these bagels are fresh and have the perfect texture. You can't compare these to supermarket bagels, this are what supermarket bagels wish that they could taste like. Bagelman is easily worthy of 6 stars, this is bagel haute cuisine... Lovely

We came here because the reviews really sell the place. We expected more...the first bagel we wanted to order was the moth special It was 10:30 am in the morning and they had already run out of brie cheese. 👍They offered us to pick another cheese but we decided to pick another bagel. We ordered two bagels: 1. The CBA (the chicken is boiled not grilled), the avocado wasn't ripe. 2. The ham omelette, they didn't put any spinach on it.

Vegan BLT & Vegan feast - Yum! I just had a vegan BLT and for once in my life thought I'd leave a review because these guys never disappoint! Bagelman have been around for many years now and as a life long vegetarian I had always eaten there and enjoyed their food and now, having turned vegan, I'm happy to say that their vegan food does not disappoint and I can still eat at there! Staff are always friendly and efficient, all of the Bagelman shops are spotless and from the way the staff work (believe me, I've watched!) I feel safe knowing they take care with vegan (and vegetarian) food preparation.

Visited last Sunday in January, it was quiet so a quick order of the Reuben to go - i watched and thought it was a lot of mustard added but it was perfect, staff member knew exactly what she was doing! Great place for good priced bagel. Loads of other options

I love this bagel shop! They do the best salmon + cream cheese bagel I’ve ever had. Extra yum with some greens added in. Every time I travel to Brighton I get so excited purely because it means I get to visit this bagel shop. I’m moving temporarily near to Brighton from Kent in September and I can’t wait to be nearby to get my bagel fix on a regular basis. Food is always fresh and delicious. 10/10!!!!!

Taste amazing! I can choose fillings and mix every combination whatever I want. I tried onion bagel with smoked salmon. It was amazing! And also staff was super kind and nice. I strongly recommend this place, If u visit Brighton!

I was impressed with my takeaway bagel today. Decent price for a decent bagel! 😊

They put ice-cold drinks right next to the bagels in the bag, so our food arrived cold. Put drinks in separate bags...? We ordered two meals. One meal was missing hash browns. One bagel had a hair in it. Overall, a tragic experience. This isn't the first time Bagelman has missed the mark. No point supporting local business when they don't care about their customers!

Bagelman is a Gem, a variety of Quality hand rolled bagels (my faves are poppy & multi-seed) and quality ingredients. Sweet & Savoury, breakfast & brunch - If you enjoy a good hearty bagel, you can’t go wrong. Try the lox deluxe, delicious

After Uber eats completely messed up the delivery of a big order I placed, the lovely guys at bagelman remade the entire thing despite it not being their fault at all. Truly wonderful customer service and excellent bagels as always!

Omelette and ham bagel was really bland! Won’t recommend BUT the BLT was good, and you add an omelette to the sandwich! Ok coffee and lovely staff.

After investing 60k of my own money into this company, in January 2022 the company Bagelman limited went into liquidation owing hundreds of thousands to local Brighton people and suppliers, people who trusted them! they wrote off all shareholders investments including mine. The owner then bought back the previously valued 1.3 million pound company for just £80,000. Now they have nice new branding, nice new store, nice new branded merchandise, such a shame about the morals and ethics of the company. If you are thinking of buying a Bagel from Bagelman please just spare a thought for the original shareholders and local suppliers...as this will happen again.

Nice and inviting small establishment in the lanes. The staff seemed friendly enough and the food wasn't too bad for price either.. In an area where everything is about trends, which includes eateries its nice to see a place I can still get something I want, rather than what my company of people want..

Always great! I’ve been to this location and the one at the station multiple times. Always get great service and delicious bagels. Great that they do GF as well. My fave is the Rueben and the CBA. Lovely bacon bagel and coffee deal too !

Caters for coeliac and intolerant. I went in and asked if they catered for coeliac and they immediately explained everything that made it safe for coeliac. Being a coeliac myself this makes life so much easier and happier because we don’t need to worry! Their gluten free bagels are to die for! It was my first time but I’d definately go again!

Bagels really tasty and original. The waitresses are really kind and he does the bread his self which is the final point to this incredible bagels. I really recomend it for lunch/dinner or even breakfast. In addition they have brownie and cookies for a sweet ending. Bagels are around £6-9

If no stars was possible I’d give it. my food came RAW and STONE COLD I did everything in my power to have someone listen to me every single person shut me down without even an inch of respect. The manager of this store is an absolute joke this is the worst customer service I’ve ever had , he was purposely so rude and personally liked to tell me how this wasn’t his problem, girlies please do not waste you’re money I’m APPALLED HOW DO U EVEN HAVE 4 STARS!!!!!!!

This is completely and utterly the worst food experience of my life. Not only did we notice the food was stone cold when passing out the bagels we opened them up and it looked completely uncooked as well. I contacted deliveroo, they said they couldn’t do anything then I also, from their advice, called the Bagelmans store and spoke to the manager he was also no help at all he said we had to go through deliveroo. He was rude and incompetent. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. And then not only was the food absolutely disgustingly cold and INEDIBLE!!! I Then found out I had a hair added in for some extra flavour, nice, as photographed in my review. This bacon is literally still oinking. I have been completely blindsided by both companies who then completely rejected the idea of even replacement order, instead of a refund. Dont waste your time. Four stars? What? I would give none if i could.

This used to be a favourite but my experience today was bad. It took over 10 minutes for staff to acknowledge a large queue of customers were waiting. The prices have gone up and the service has gone down since being sold off. Not what it used to be - disappointing

Visited Brighton to try these lovely bagels. I went for a classic smoked salmon and cream cheese but with a onion bagel and chives 10/10

So delicious! We both got the salt beef filling. I got a sesame bagel and my partner got the jalapeno bagel. The staff were so lovely and the service was very quick. The place isn't huge so I would recommend getting to go, especially if you're planning a picnic on the beach 🏖️ 🧺❤️

Bagelman in Brighton (Bond St) was absolutely brilliant at providing a 30-person evening picnic meal for a student group visiting from London, when Covid restrictions meant we could not eat indoors. After contacting 10 different cafes and sandwich shops, Bagelman was the only one who could accommodate the bulk order and provide a range which met different dietary requirements (inc. vegan and gluten free) as well as providing all the trimmings (drinks, crisps etc) AND helping enormously by delivering outside of their normal hours with free delivery to a location on the seafront. It was also very reasonably priced, and easy to organise and pay for in advance.The students received a wonderful range of bagels with fillings including smoked salmon, halloumi and pastrami, plus a great range of crisps, boxed juices and wonderful brownies and cookies. Everything was devoured within minutes, sitting on the beach (where the sun finally came out!), and I heard some lovely comments about the quality of food. Everything was carefully labelled, even down to which crisps were vegan or gluten free, and supplied in recyclable boxes that we were able to lay out on a nearby seating area.Thank you Bagelman (especially Dom and Jospeh) for being so helpful, accommodating and getting it all spot on - it really helped us organise a great trip at a stressful time with many limitations, and everyone loved it!

I cannot say enough about Bagelman and their wonderful gluten free bagels. This was a rare treat; anyone with celiac knows how hard it is to get a hot gluten free breakfast on the go that isn’t porridge, and Bagelman ticks all the boxes. When I ordered, the cashier asked if I was celiac, and kindly made my bagel in the back on separate equipment. The bagel itself was perfectly chewy, with a crisp outer layer, exactly as a bagel should be. It was loaded with cream cheese and tons of bacon. Truly, the only downside was that I made a complete mess of myself and needed to grab more napkins! What a wonderful treat, I can’t wait to come back for more!

When I visited this place neither the person attending to me or the assistant behind her were wearing masks. The maskless guy behind the girl was refiling cheese slices into the containers with his bare hands. The girl made my bagel without gloves or any kind of hygiene measures. All this exposure for a mediocre, tiny, hugely overpriced bagel. The kind of place you only visit once unfortunately.

If I am buying bagel for £6.5 I wanna feel the filling. 2 days in a row we ordered breakfast from Bagelmen, both times we left a note to make it properly toasted and put decent quantity of salmon. We ended up with tiny peace of salmon which even didn't cover bagel and loads of cream cheese, not toasted. So basically we received cream cheese with salmon flavour on raw bagel. I used to love this place...and eat here 2 - 3 per week. Extremely disappointed!

We visited Bagelman for lunch. The staff were great - really friendly despite having problems with their card payment system, very stressful for them especially with the Covid situation. The best bagels in town. Our kids love this place, whenever we are shopping around town we always stop here for a snack. Lovely bread and all the fillings you could imagine. Lovely staff too
