I visit the Cut Cafe at least once a week at lunchtime. This is a cafe run by volunteers in a facility with so many activities,. The staff are so friendly and the soup and garlic bread at lunchtime absolutely delicious. They also do more substantial meals in the evening particularly before a film or event. The new chef has only been there for about four months . I highly recommend it and would encourage people to go a long and taste the food for themselves. I’m sure it will be just the first of many visits .

I now make a special trip just to eat the soup here. Utterly delicious. The new chef is brilliant. I can see they have a really nice lasagne on the go too. Please do support this cafe, the Cut is also a great community asset. I rarely post on Trip Advisor, but in this case it's important to spread the word!

set in an old maltings building led filled us with happiness as we approached from the town, however once in that all but disappeared. seating was school canteen like, the menu was good but the two ladies serving/cooking there had a job to look at us let alone take our order. while waiting ( and waiting) for our food we noticed staff from other parts of the building turning up and helping themselves from behind the food counter, which looked odd. the food itself was tasty but the lack of a pleasant welcome added to the lack of atmosphere means we will not be going back

Read on this website about the cafe so hunted it out Very dissatisfied with everything. The cafe is not welcoming at all. Not al all friendly. It was very quiet and yet we waited over a half an hour for two panini sandwiches! By which time our coffee/tea was cold. When our food eventually arrived it was served in a very surly manner. I’ve been a cafe assistant so cannot understand why our food took so long! We could see him faffing about and at one point felt I ought to pop behind the screen and help him! Please don’t go there folks!

Hay un programa muy variado y siempre vale la pena revisar, además de un festival de artes cada octubre. El catering es adecuado, como es el bar, aunque un poco 'cantina'. Pero en general una gran aset para halesworth

Good cafe at The Cut, used mainly by those attending events here. Good cakes and snacks plus light lunches. Homemade fayre and extremely good value for money.

As an eating destination this is a NO-NO. Pre concert meals, possibly, if you don't feel like making something at home. The premises looks tired and the chairs and tables look canteenish. , The staff are pleasant but not very professional and the food patchy. On the blackboard are things like Hummus and PItta bread, and Chicken Liver pate - both not bad of their kind but not very appealing. There appears to be a soup-of-the-day (thick and home made by the look of it) and specials like beef stew ("Available from 7 o'clock" - concerts start at 7-30) Quite a nice atmosphere in this warehousey-type premises. Good music of various sorts pretty nearly always, in the adjacent and pleasing 200-seater hall.

Enjoyed a delicious apple crumble. Popped in to see what it was like inside the cut and was not disappointed. Lovely area for a drink and a meal. Felt quite comfortable reading my book on my own.

Sorry but the food was decidedly average, although served by charming people. There are many better eateries close by.

The café has a small selection of home made dishes which are on offer both at lunch time and early evening. We really enjoyed our good helping of smoked mackerel pate , seedy toast and salad. Also on offer was a good looking beef tomato tartan and chilli con carne, with a great strawberry roulade to finish. The selection changes regularly and always both looks and tastes good. Drinks are varied and not expensive. Well worth a visit any time.

We popped in for lunch and had the goats cheese and vegetable tart and a coffee. Very reasonably priced, served with a smile and the dogs were allowed inside. The shows were also tempting, we will be back to see some films and productions through the year. Also enjoyed the art around the walls. A little gem of a place; well worth a visit. Loved the poem in the ladies too!

We always try to pop in for tea and cake when on Halesworth. My husband particularly enjoys the hot sausage rolls

Apart from excellent coffee and good cake, this unique place offers a theatre, an art gallery, and a variety of rooms to be used by creative people in writing and dance. It is an example of what local people can do to renovate an old building (a malting a with several floors) and turn it into a community resource. Well worth a visit, interesting to explore.

The lovely Cut cafe, ran by a friendly lady and her helpful staff. Good selection of food, also can make different things to suit your needs. My son loves it there as has a great selection of toys and very child friendly. Great events, shows, artwork and exercise classes going on all the time. Keep up the good work!!

As soon as I walked into the café I was immediately hit with a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone dining there was happy and content. Although it was clearly very busy, I was greeted and served with amazing service that I've only seen in restaurants and café's very few times. I was also surprised to learn that the art center is completely unfunded! I will definitely be returning here again soon.

If you want something a little different from the usual high street cafe, try The Cut. Lovely spacious cafe with excellent food that is served by cheerful and friendly staff. Ever changing artwork on the walls and child friendly. Recommended.

Myself and my family have been going to the cut for many years and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and art and have always found the staff to be very friendly. Lately, however, there always seem to be dogs running around the cafe. Their owners do not keep them by their own tables but allow them to spend all of their time under other customers tables, eating any food dropped, sniffing your crotch and nosing through your handbag. Is this a cafe or a kennel?!?!

We used to go to this cafe years ago and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately today our experience was not a good one. Felt like I spent more time queuing for drinks and then back for food than sitting down and enjoying the experience. The menu seems somewhat downgraded from when we went before (very limited - no JPs or salads etc.). In the counter pastries (sausage rolls and tea cakes) sold out by 11:30. But for us we ordered 2 x bacon, cheese and tomato paninis (£8ea with no salad garnish!). I think the photos show the problems, as one of the guests are in early pregnancy I am really disappointed this grey spoilt meat was served. They didn’t come round and ask how the food was like most restaurants do, so we took the plate up the girl looked confused and took it to the kitchen they offered another one (noting no apologies given) but spoilt meat was enough to put us off and they did complete a refund for the one that was off quickly. Such a shame but to be served off meat is pretty terrible for a well established cafe. Won’t be back, which is such a shame. Note: we are not people to complain so this is a rarity. The shop however is still a lovely visit.

As a stranger to the area, checked the website that shows the shop was open. It wasn't so went to the other shop at the other side of town, where the food was excellent ,the staff friendly and very busy, good luck to them. They deserve it.

Great halloumi burger at this friendly seaside cafe. Sunny Sunday in October. Dog friendly outside. Lots of choice in menu. Very busy which is usually a good sign.

The friendliest staff and best fried bread this side of the Pecos River. The full English breakfast is top drawer but the fried bread wins the prize! Love this place!

We were a large family out for a birthday meal and were incredibly well looked after at this amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff are all amazing and so attentive. Was so good to see Chris back too . They even made a great effort to put my daughters candle on her desert for her . Thank you so much for a wonderful evening
