The Curry Garden in Three Rivers

I don’t know where to even start . My first and last time ever . I had a very disappointing experience at Curry Garden. The staff were not only unprofessional but outright rude, making me feel unwelcome from the start. Any questions we had about the menu were met with short, dismissive answers, and it felt as if they couldn’t care less about providing a good experience. As for the food, it was equally underwhelming. The curry was bland, lacked the rich flavors you’d expect, and tasted as though little care was put into its preparation. For a place that specializes in curry, I expected much better quality. To make matters worse, when I tried to address a concern, I was met with eye rolls and a completely unprofessional attitude. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you feel like you’re being treated with outright disrespect. Overall, between the rude service and mediocre food, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. There are far better places for curry where you’re treated with respect and served delicious food. Skip this one. Just remembered ! Also I purchased 2 Coca-Cola when I was there with my wife waiting for our meal , and I was really disappointed and shocked !. Imagine this ! they use a 2 Liter plastic coke bottle that you can buy from the shops for £1.50 but these scumbags sell it to me for £3.50 each the coke of course was warm and completely flat--no fizz at all!, they weren’t so clever to even put it in the fridge ( I saw it sitting on their table before I even came in the restaurant ) It tasted stale and unrefreshing, which is not what I expect from such a well-known brand. I was looking forward to enjoying a cold, bubbly soda, but this was a letdown. .

We placed a large order (£122). All very tasty and hot, fast service, but all of the dishes were mostly sauce - very little meat. At getting on for £20 for a prawn dish, you do expect a reasonable amount. Even in the chicken dishes the meat was scant.

Extensive menu, lots of dishes to choose from. Service was polite and quick. Poppadoms, starter, main plus drinks around £27pp. For the price thought food was very high quality. Will definitely have this place on my shortlist when eating out in Money Hill

Had a takeaway me and my partner had a dish each ordered 2 nann breads which didn’t turn up so called to tell them said would send it out and didn’t. Have called to ask for a refund as didn’t receive what had been paid for manager was very rude didn’t apologise and just said call you back later. Food was not nice that we had will not be going here again to be ripped off. Terrible customer service.

The food is always amazing, staff are friendly and polite and the food quality is amazing for the price. We often go on Sundays and make the most of their sunday banquet offer. The young guy who always serves us is nice and friendly. Overall my fav indian and defo worth the half hour drive!

Food was not the best but still edible but the 1 star review was for the incredibly rude delivery driver. He could not be bothered to read the instructions and follow them up and instead complained how it was our fault that finding our house was so complicated. He even had the audacity to shout and argue with my teenage son who was collecting the order which is incredibly unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. I will never order from this restaurant again.

Had a takeaway from here at the weekend, we orderd online and it was with us within 30mins and lovely and hot. The curries were nice with a good amount of meat and sauce consistency was good. Felt the onion bhajis could of been bigger though, but they tasted nice.

Ordered takeaway was 2 hours late. Called shop 5 times an hour later it shows up. WORST CURRY I’ve ever eaten swimming in water. Called to complain and got told to F off on the phone and to stop complaining as the man answering the phone in this awful establishment earns more money as he has a degree. Looking at this place I hope he can afford his bus fair home tonight.

Ordered a chicken tikka masala and it was more like a korma don’t think they know how to cook a proper curry and before anyone starts I’m from Bradford so I know a good curry but serving people curry’s for 27 years apparently around the area these people obviously don’t know a good curry either

Food was very good as was the decor and atmosphere. Let down a bit by the brusque attitude of the waitering service.

Ordered a takeout, as an Indian I can tell for certain that this is the farthest food from "Indian cooking." Can only describe this as tasteless. It's not hard to see that they use the same sauce for the potatoes and the chicken, they probably cook it separately and just add them at the end as these components had zero flavour. Paratha was raw and too thick and in the end resorted to bowl of cereal and threw the food out. Maybe this place is suited for those who have no idea about Indian cooking or simply like bland food. Not personal but just don't think this really demonstrates the flavours of our country and to be honest they can do a lot lot better. Disappointed.

Place is amazing. The best curry in town. Can't do enough for you. Banquet nights are fantastic and great value for money. Service is excellent.

The food we had was lovely, but at nearly £5 for 2 samosas, that seemed steep. Tiny onion bhajis, 3 per portion smaller than a ping pong ball. Currys were very heavy on the sauce. Tasty, but clearly things had been scaled back since our last visit.

Ordered a chicken madras was absolutely awful it tasted like spicy tomato soup. I proceeded to ring the manager apul for a refund he shouted at me saying if you don't like our food don't order from us in future his attitude was appalling he didn't offer to redo the curry or give me a refund DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED AND THEY DONT OFFER A REFUND EITHER. IT WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF £30 I THREW IT IN THE BIN.

Had a family meal for Wife’s birthday, was a lovely relaxed experience with great service, food and atmosphere. Our waiter, Ray, really went above and beyond

We ordered a takeaway that came in good time. Lovely tasting food but was lukewarm. The only food criticism would be the onion bhaji. Looked and tasted as if they were bought from the supermarket (6 for £1 in asda) and put in the microwave, definitely were not worth nearly £5 for 3, will not order these again.

Absolutely shocking customer service, they processed order (google/ food hub) wrong. It turned up 15 mins past eta (not a problem), but when we called to try & rectify order, they wouldn’t pick up & when they eventually did they would only offer to correct the one dish they got wrong & refused to give a delivery time on this.

Great place just been for our 19th anniversary we also had our first date there too so if 19 years of us going there does tell you how good it is then I don't know what will

Whilst working away from home I stumbled upon this little place, from the moment I walked in (being from out of town, I felt welcomed with such a friendly atmosphere and staff. I noticed a clean well decorated establishment, friendly, knowledgable staff with abit of friendly banter. Returned again this evening and booked a table again for next week - wish I lived closer to this restaurant- all in all a great place to eat some great food in a nice environment. Highly recommended! Tuesday special makes this a very reasonably priced establishment for great tasty authentic food!

I went to this Curry Garden last evening.I had a very nice meal,good service.Very good menue as always.Staff were very good too.I have not been there,so often now.After 40 years, living in the area, it is still here.Other decent places have gone.Always reccomend Curry Garden.May it remains for more years still.Thank you Curry Garden.

The food served is not up to the mark I had ordered Lamb Biryani it came in very small chunks. This is not explained in their menu. I am an Indian do have knowledge about my food and aware how food is served in other restaurants therefore please don’t cheat your customers.

Just had delivery, on time, very friendly delivery driver and amazing food. So much so got supper too. Highly recommended

The meal was nice, but very little difference between the dishes. No real noticeable flavour differences between curries in terms of spices or heat; the mild and medium were both the same heat. Also the curries seemed very small quantities - the volume went about half way up the side of the takeaway tubs. We spent £81 and there really wasn’t a great deal of food; onion bhajis were incredibly small - about the size of a walnut. It was nice, but we’ve definitely had better.

Delicious food, been a regular customer for over 15 years or more. We prefer to ring and order rather than apps. Lovely staff, great food every time, wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you!

Firstly I have to say I have never been unhappy with the food here. We usually go on a Sunday as it is quiet and the Sunday Buffet is good value: starter, main, veg side, bread and rice. We could not finish the meal so asked for it to be packed only to be told there is a charge of £ 2.50!!!??? WTF? So instead of the restuaraunt having to fill up their bins, which no doubt costs them to dispose of the waste, we are being charged for food we have already paid for to be put in a 20 pence container? That is not the way to encourage customers to return. Whilst I cannot consider myself to be a regular, nethertheless I do eat there or order takeaway maybe 6 times a year but I doubt I will be visting again.

From the poppadoms through out the food was excellent. Everything was freshly cooked. The staff were all extremely polite and courteous. Was never rushed to the next dish and never had too wait too long. The staff were there as soon as you wanted something but never sitting on you shoulder rushing you. Will definitely be here again. The take away was very busy ! The phone never stopped but it never stopped the customers being served.

My local Indian place and it never let's me down, such friendly staff and the food is out of this world so amazing.

Very disappointing! This is our local curry house and we've been let down on the last 3 occasions of delivery but keep giving the benefit of the doubt. On this occasion waited over 2 hours only to be told when we phoned the driver had an accident!(hope he's OK?) No attempt to resolve from the restaurant and I have to wait days to get refund!!....#starving!!

After shocking meal with no meat in dish and waiting 1.5 hours for it to arrive in first place. To be followed by zero customer service when complained Avoid at all costs !!!

We stopped off here on a whim and couldn't be happier. The decor was pretty and atmosphere very relaxing. I had a spicy green curry (one of their specials) and I must say, it's the best curry I've had in a long long time. Garlic naan was amazing too. The staff were so helpful and lovely. We will be back soon! I wish a took a photo of the medal as the presentation was ace.

On a Thursday night myself and my partner and a friend were looking for somewhere for Dinner in Rickmansworth and decided to give the Curry Garden a try. This turned out to be an excellent choice. Opul and his staff were friendly and attentive and our food was excellent. Our friend asked what Ciders were available at the bar, and on finding that Strongbow wasn’t her favourite, Opul went out and picked up some Thatchers cider for her. This was a small but much appreciated touch, and shows just how much Opul and team value their customer’s experience, and aim to make it they best they can. Our food was excellent particularly my King Prawn Vindaloo which delivered on heat while remaining a tasty dish. All too often I find that dishes marked as hot, without additional chilli, aren’t hot enough for my palate. This certainly was, and was very enjoyable. All in all we had an excellent experience at Curry Garden and I would strongly recommend the restaurant for lovers of Indian Food in the area.

Amazing curry as always at the Curry Garden! We tried a new game - order anything that you have not tried before - and we’re pleasantly surprised that our selections excelled our expectations.

Terrible service/attitude of manager and Food. Having ordered food from here on numerous occasions and dining in restaurant, have always enjoyed the experience up until now. Give or take a few blips. Received order tonight.. not warm.. nothing new.. microwave can sort that. One of My dishes Chilli paneer tasted like it had been cooked in Pataks sauce.(not a criticism- however I can do that myself) To which when I questioned manager he asked me if I had had the dish from there before, as it was the same. (Taking it with me tomorrow to ask another reputable restaurant if this is true) pataks that is.. or something similar. Chips, soaked in grease and cold... other chick pea dish could of been in tomato soup. Managers response was not to be bothered if I put this opinion out there.. Such a shame!

Never again am I ordering from here, If you order make sure you order the day before, poor service , poor delivery service with just eat .

After waiting two hours for our delivery the food finally came cold. However once we got over the rudeness of the delivery driver and heated the food up. The food was actually quite nice.

Ordered a take away which was late on midweek night. The food that arrived was firstly the wrong order and secondly not edible. Starters were greasy, breads (that actually arrived) were cold and the mains were watery and tasteless. I was recommended to this restaurant having previously had a not great experience but thought I would give it a go, NEVER AGAIN. Most of the food was not consumed and gone in the bin, even think the maggots might give it a miss.

The person who answered the phone to take my order was extremely helpful when accommodating my dietary restrictions. The delicious meal was delivered on time and I can highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been going to this restaurant for the last four years. Thankfully a friend took me there to eat & I have really enjoyed all the dishes which we ordered. If I cannot make it, he always brings me home a take away. You are spoilt for taste as there is a wide variety to choose from. The owner & staff are very polite & extremely friendly & customer service is excellent. Highly recommended & a good place to eat if you are in the area. Lorna Taylor

Figured we’d try it again. Think we were mugs to be honest. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Actually hope this place goes under. It deserves to, that’s for sure. Management rude and not interested. ALDI ready meal far far superior in taste and quality. Dog food if you don’t like dogs!

This used to be an outstanding curry house. Now its really poor to the point of unhealthy. Paneer had Tikka sauce and was watered down. Some of the food was OK. but we won't be going there again £7 for 2 nan breads

Ordered online and wsit 2 hours for food and no appologies from restaurant. Food was horrible far away from indian food. All curry are same sous based same taste very very sweet that you will wonder if you eating main course or desert. Stay away

Ordered a takeaway which arrived over 20 minutes late. Half way through eating my vindaloo I also found a large bug in the food!

Ordered a takeaway at 6.54pm told will be approx 1hr. Still waiting now! Have phoned 3 times to be told on it's way! Will not be ordering again... Ever!

Great Indian that do a great meal deal on Tuesdays and all day Sunday were you get a starter, main dish, side dish, rice and nan for £10.95. Full recommended.

They squeezed us in on a Tuesday evening for the gourmet menu and for the first time ever, we eat everything! What a feast of flavours!

Clearly no real cooking goes on in this kitchen. Madras and tikka masala sauces identical (save for the addition of some chilli powder in the madras). Poppadums chewy, no texture at all. Seems clear that cubes of meat just chucked into pretty poor sauces. Won’t revisit

Ordered a Just Eat delivery on Saturday 26th October. Just eat confirmed the restaurant took the order. Order placed 18:00 for a 19:15 delivery. Every 15 minutes after the delivery time I called the restaurant and was lied to about the delivery. Eventually it arrived at 20:20 over an hour late. I was told by the driver (also the owner of the restaurant) they would make a refund. this did not happen.Attitude was terrible and I will never use them again

Tasty food with good flavours and good portion size. Service was quick and friendly. Prices reasonable.

Regularly ordering from their specials menu, which appears to be their main draw. I hear the family've got got 5 restaurants in South East. Their specials are intricate in flavour but traditionals work also, their take on green curry is fantastic, not a common sight in Indian restaurants. They manage to avoid overkill with tomato, turmeric, and chili to make other more subtle flavours and textures stand out. Service great, venue small but clean and accommodating. Would perhaps only recommend they get a proper espresso machine.

The service at the Buffett Night was abysmal We were a large group and we waited 75 minutes before our order was taken and had to ask for a drink after being there for 45 minutes, instead of being offered one as soon as we were seated. Food was good when it was eventually served, but was charged an extra £2.50 to take a "doggy bag" home!!!

Having used this place a few times now, I have to say it was beyond poor. In fact, we threw it away after trying each dish. Bread was dry and stodgy, paneer had zero flavour, chicken was inedible and chewy and the whole thing lacked anything Indian. It wasn’t exactly cheap either apart from the quality. The one that closed down on the same parade was actually far better. What a shame.

Having used this restaurant for 10 years for both dining in and takeaways we ordered on a Friday evening. We were told that the meal would be delivered in 45 minutes, it was delivered in an hour and a half and was cold and there were dishes missing, very disappointing. We sent an email to the restaurant and the owner responded fairly quickly, I requested a refund for the items not delivered, which I felt was well within my rights.

My wife and I treated our youngest son on his birthday and our youngest granddaughter for her excellent college result.

A few of us went to this restaurant last Sunday and went for their fixed price set lunch menu. We were given a warm welcome by the manager/ owner, and promptly served our drinks. There was plenty of choice on the menu, and we didn’t have long to wait for our food to be served. It arrived well presented, nice and warm and absolutely delicious. Portions were of a good size too. We were well looked after and drinks were replenished as requested. We were even given a doggy bag to take home what we were unable to eat! This is the first time we have been to this restaurant, and I was extremely impressed. I should also add that is was very good value. We will certainly be returning, and I would certainly recommend.

As you can see in all of my other reviews I am 100% honest in my opinions, I know it matters to the restaurant I am reviewing as well as people deciding where to eat ! I kind of guessed my luck was out as soon as the starters came out, my partner ordered a vegetable dosa, one of her favourite foods in an Indian, please see the picture I have attached to this review of the said dosa, it was a few veggies in between two Chinese pancake wraps, when questioned the waiter said that’s how we do them, probably should have left then but was so looking forward to my meal but even the butter lamb which was very over cooked and dry couldn’t raise the bar as far as food goes, my son had a korma which I believe was ok and my partner them had an aubergine main course which I also believe was ok, though we were then charged £2 packaging fee for taking home what we hadn’t eaten, very strange, drinks very expensive so all in all a pretty nasty experience, won’t be going back I’m afraid, the waiter was so rude about the dosa, and as we were leaving starting arguing with a customer opposite about his bill, very sad evening to be honest, good luck to all who eat here.

Really disappointed with our latest take away order from here. The main portions were very small (containers were half full / empty) and there wasnt a lot of meat. The flavours were good but it was also quite oily. Not what we expected - will be trying elsewhere next time.

It's a lovely place for a great meal with a good atmosphere and great food

I’ve literally travelled the world now and I always revert back to Curry Garden as the top curry and Indian dining experience. Unbelievably succulent food with incredible taste fusions and the owner and staff are amazing hosts. If you are in the area you simply MUST call in for a meal.

Great Bangladesh restaurant in Rickmansworth, serving cuisines from Indian sub continent in Bangla style. Great service, reasonable prices and unique location. Must visit restaurant.

This was our second visit and I cannot rate this restaurant and the service highly enough. You can pick any dishes from the regular menu for a set price & quality of the food was amazing. Starters, main courses, rice dishes, breads for two along with a couple of drinks and the bill was just over £30 quid. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a late lunch there and bear in mind that although it normally opens at 2.00 on Sundays we had to wait till 3.00.

The food was nice but a little less spicy for an Indian taste.

popped in the other weekend to collect a take away. Just a couple on main dishes and a naan bread, but very tasty. Looks nicely re decorated in there, so looking forward to going back again next week for a sit down meal

Visited Tuesday 27.11.18: Good value Tuesday evenings £10.95 for any starter, main, side vegetable, nan and rice dish. Portions were not big but quality was ok. 1 pint of draught Cobra was £5.25. Disappointingly, only instant coffee is available after the meal! But you are given a complimentary chocolate and hot towel afterwards.

Great food, shocking waiting time for each course, considering it was a Thursday and there were only 3 other groups there.

Hadn't been to Curry Garden in a while and was really pleased by the fabulous food and friendly, attentive service. We'll be back!
