Delicious food and fantastic service. We found Sathi Dine by accident when we broke down next to junction 17 on the M25. We needed to eat while waiting a few hours for a recovery vehicle. Walked 2 miles to Sathi in the centre of Chorleywood and a wonderful meal and Ahmed went the literal extra mile and drove us back to our vehicle. It would’ve been a difficult walk in the dark. Started going back here in 2022, as I was aware it was under new ownership, The restaurant is excellent in all aspects, the food is cooked from fresh, my awkward dietary requirements are met with a smile, the menu has a few “not the usual “ items on it , the staff are very welcoming and remember our preferences etc , Overall it’s great value and a great experience, I also like the choice of background music , which breaks the usual conventions!! Highly recommend this place

We are very lucky to have an Indian restaurant of this quality as our local eatery. The food is very good at a fair price, complimented well by the welcoming and high quality service. They did well to survive the difficult Covid times and we will be very happy to visit regularly and support our local restaurant.

Recently I have been to some upmarket Indian type restaurants and found the food very average and expensive. I was recommended to visit Sathi in Chorleywood so gave it a try. I was very very impressed. Great service Clean and hygenic Hot plates and great food Big menu and reasonable prices. Drink on the house also offered. I’ll be back soon.

After seeing a few bad reviews I stuck with a friends recommendation and was not disappointed! Meats were delicious, spices incredible and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back. Made a huge effort throughout the meal to be friendly and attentive. Do not listen to the recent 1* reviews as that’s shocking.

It's OK. The food is poorly presented and the quality of some dishes is lacking. The staff are professional and service is prompt. Most side dishes are way overpriced and distinctly disappointing. I've been a couple of times recently with a small group but would definitely not go through personal choice. There are much better options - the White Bear in Rickmansworth is really good.

Fantastic place, we're really lucky to live nearby. The staff are friendly and attentive, and we always leave Sathi feeling like we have had an excellent meal.

Have enjoyed food from Sathi for many, many years. Usually good quality and very tasty but last few times have been disappointing. This time it was just terrible. Three of us ordered a variety of dishes - prawn, lamb and fish and various veggie sides. The mains were just bland meat in differed brown sauces. The jalfrezi is meant to be spicy with fresh chillies but was very plain with not a hint of fresh chilli in sight. The prawn dish had tiny prawns (not king prawn) in another bland brown sauce but overly sweet. I could go on but can’t be bothered. We ended the meal wishing we’d got a Chinese takeaway like the fourth member of our group who was enjoying fat king prawns in a sea of fresh vegetables. Definitely won’t be coming here again unless something drastically changes. Ps the rice was dry and hard. Criminal.

Had a take away from here on the 29th march 2022. Card machine not working forced to go to the bank. Then get home to stale poppadoms you could throw to your kids at the park. Then a king prawn puree I could fix punctures with onion Bhajis that would come in handy in a Riot. My lamb jalfrezi was unrecognisable as food let alone a Curry. The restaurants attitude was appalling. Thankfully I never have to eat here again. & Never will.

They do take it away. All you do is go on the mouse and then pay with the keyboard button but you can’t be a robot. Saying that I dressed as a robot once but I was very young then and possibly a bit unstable, anyway you go there and they put in bag and then you just take it away. It’s easy. Really nice place. We have curry and rice and those pompalooms which are like really big crisps but in a paper bag and we just take it away. I’m getting a bike.

I live down the road and go to sathi often, their quality and service was spot on. However this has not been up kept. The last few times I’ve been the food has been disgustingly oily, leaving stains on everything it touches. Plus they keep changing the recipes of my fave dishes which are now all gross. along with them constantly forgetting bits of food meaning I’ve been having to go back and retrieve my food - this has happened a number of times and they give little remorse (not even a free poppadom!!) As well as their food not being the cheapest, There are now no longer any good Indians in Chorleywood as sujoys is also rank and have a terrible hygiene rating

Ordered Nan Bread, delivered partly frozen. If the Nan is frozen you wonder about the rest of the meal. Which was expensive and very average.

Happy to recommend “Sathi” for it’s quality and taste. We are lucky to have such authentic restaurant on our doorstep. The “Lamb Phall” is hotter than any Vindaloo dish and similar to my experience when I visit India. Service is excellent and the chef will kindly tweak to your tastes. “Sathi Sunday’s” is a regular event between my friends and I!

I really enjoyed the food from Sathi I got as a takeaway with my family. The kids enjoyed the curry, despite not being too familiar with Indian food.

My family and I ordered a takeaway from Sathi the other day. Living in Chorleywood for the last 4 years, I have actually never been here before. I can only regret that, as the food I had was amazing! The food tasted freshly cooked and spiced, despite being served as a takeaway. I will be returning as a regular from now on :)

I am well astounded by the superb quality of food Sathi offer. I have been a regular since last year, and each week they haven’t failed to provide amazing curries! The Bhuna dishes are fantastic, I recommend them alongside some Pilau Rice.

I’ve ordered from Sathi a couple of times and I have greatly enjoyed the food. The management are very welcoming when I go to collect my order, the online ordering system is simple and easy to use, and the quality of the food is excellent. The Bhaji’s are fantastic alongside the lamb chops.

I have lived in rickmansworth for 14 yrs and sati used to be a favourite of mine. I am truly saddened to say that I was appalled by the quality of the food I had recently. The paratha was not freshly made and was pre made frozen paratha cooked from a packet, and it was heated. The curries were of very poor quality. I did call to express my view and the manager was respectful and understanding. Sadly, I will never set foot in the restaurant again. The chef and management must have known about the poor quality but were insultingly happy for it to leave.

Always a delicious meal at Sathi! The Jalfreyzi is a favorite for me, especially with a Sag Aloo side. Since lock-down we can only get a takeaway and the food has remained top notch!

I went alone and their wasnt a customer in the place. However food was very good and the price was above average but worth it. One issue common with waiters when they've nothing to do. Far too quick off the mark gawping, worrying and waiting for empty plates. Not a criticism of this place but it was all too evident this evening. Overbearing. They need to find a balance.

Amazing food and service! Delicious papadams and toppings as a starter. Would reccomend one main order plus naan for everyone and a rice between 1-2 people.

We are locals and have visited regularly but we will not go back for a while. Tonight a serving of onion bhaji was cold in the centre. On commenting on it to the waiter, we were asked ‘are you sure?’ We asked that he tell the chef. No response from waiting or kitchen staff and the manager simply stood around doing nothing or chatting to other staff. Our other courses were ok but nothing special. We can’t really recommend this place but hope it improves.

If you don't know what you want or do and it is not on the menu, simply tell your waiter what you like and dislike and leave it up to them. You will not be disappointed.

Food was very good, and served promptly. Service attentive without being intrusive. Will return when next in area.

This is a really great find of a great Curry House. The Manager and all the staff are extremely helpful and make you feel very welcome and valued. The food has always been absolutely great and is a very enjoyable surprise if you go away from the traditional dishes.

This is a great find the staff and manager are the most helpful going if you phone up he has you details and refers to you by name when re booking a table. Food is just a very enjoyable surprise if you go away from the traditional dishes give it a try do not live near Chorleywood - Then move!

This my partner’s local Indian restaurant, so we eat there or get takeaways relatively often. Service is always very friendly while politely low key; the staff are attentive enough that they’ll generally approach you to take your order if you put the menu down after browsing through it, and they’re also quick to ask if you want another drink if you finish your current one. As with most Indian eateries there’s plenty on offer for vegetarians like myself, and particular mention goes to the excellent onion bhajis, which are always really crispy and nicely spicy, and their vindaloos. We both love vindaloo and almost always go for them (with my partner generally opting for the lamb), although every meal I’ve had here has always been good. Their breads are good too, and the restaurant’s prices are good value for money.

Sathi offers great attentive service, with an amazing selection of quality foods. I have only very recently just started to eat Indian food and Sathi have not let me down.

Must have gone down hill recently, as we tried this place twice and both times disappointed. They use generic sauces, frozen veg and it’s just not very authentic and fresh tasting. The chef is really letting the place down.

My wife and I visited Sathi earlier this month when visiting family locally. We have experienced the takeaway service on a previous occasion, which was exemplary. Our opinion is that, from entering the restaurant, the level of service was well above the average. I would highlight the welcome and personal attention we received, from initial drinks, given time to choose our preferred dishes and then the speed at which these dishes arrived. Our experience was unhurried, during which we spoke with the founder of the restaurant, and our overall view is that we will visit again at the earliest opportunity.

Ordered the Batak Adraki (can’t go wrong with tender shredded duck mmmmm) with a cobra (half pint I was driving!) and I have to say best in the local area! No complaints from me. Sincerely, A deeply satisfied man. Graham.

The food is fantastic the best curry I have had. They also do takeaways which is just as good as if u eat in. I can recommend enough I have been going for years it is our monthly routine.

Sathi’s of Chorleywood. An excellent meal this evening with very friendly and attentive service. 3 different starters (i can really recommend the Salmon Tikka) and 3 different mains - all really good. BTW the lamb is excellent.

Quality of the dishes are amazing. Fresh and varied. My favourite are the king prawn dishes. The size of them...they are like small lobsters. Great service. Nice atmosphere. And the take away option is top notch with everything spot on and on time.

Plus was nice cool, calm and clean. Very pleasant service. Minus, was main swimming in oil and Dall not very tasty. Unfortunately, they had a tape on a loop which only played one pliny tune over and over and over again. It was still a nicely laid out relaxing place to be.

Having recently moved into the area we ordered a curry to take away.

Best Indian I have had in a long time. Fresh with delicious flavours. My only small gripe was how noisy the upstairs area was.

Freshly chopped and fried bhindi was a sure sign the team know what they are doing! Some very unique curries too. You must try this place! We will be back!!!

This is THE best curry in and around chorleywood. The guys that own it are always great, the food is impeccable and always hot when it arrives, have been going since I was about 10 or so even after moving to watford. Not to be missed, the bhindi bhaji is outstanding!

What a superb takeaway today for the family. After rating them down previously I can say they are definitely back on their game and without doubt back as the best in the town.

Habiendo mudado recientemente a Chorleywood, mi esposa y yo decidimos probar uno de los restaurantes indios locales.

We had a marvelous selection of dishes with Cobra Indian beer and finished off with my favourite Kulfi Ice Cream. The restaurant is bright with tastefully decor and the service was excellent.

Una buena comida común para celebrar mi madre y mi hermano en el cumpleaños de leyes. Tuvimos poppadums, platos principales y acompañamientos, junto con algunos vasos de cobra y una botella de vino. Buena comida como siempre (pedimos una mesa abajo, ambiente mucho mejor que el de arriba), el servicio podría haber estado un poco más atento, sin embargo, en general, una celebración de cumpleaños encantador.

Out of the two Indians in town this is by far the better food. The service however is not what it used to be under the previous owner and you no longer feel special or important as a paying customer.Still very nice and as said if you want the better food come here but if you want more room and service go to the other one

I visit Chorleywood often to see my mother-in-law who lives close to Sathi. I had meant to visit many times in recent years, but schedules did not permit. Yesterday I resolved to try a takeaway meal. I was not disappointed. The quality of the food - Lamb Jalfrezi, Channa Massala, Sag Aloo was at least equal to the very best Indian/Bangladeshi food I have ever eaten. My benchmark is Memories of India (London, reviewed previuosly) which i have visited regularly for 20+ years. I will return - soon!

Sathi combines excellent food with friendly and attentive service. All five of us had different dishes and none were in any way disappointed. A thoroughly enjoyable experience I shall be repeating soon.

Excellent Indian food served by attentive staff

We first went here on the opening night and have been regulars ever since. So, when we had to point out that our recent meal was cold we expected the usual great service - none of it....just the waiter demanding to know exactly which dish was cold, no apology, and the food very ungraciously reheated! Then we asked what sort of nan we had been served - 'peshwari of course' snapped the waiter. But we had ordered plain nan - again no apology and no offer to bring what we had ordered. Instead of the usual friendly service and lovely food we left wondering what had happened to this part of Chorleywood life. Come on Sathi - you can do better!

Always the best service and consistently good food

This is clearly a popular restaurant but couldn't be described as special. The dishes were tasty and portions a fair size. The decor is a little dated and the wall seating a bit tight for 2 adults. The restaurant was quite chilly on the night we visited. The reason for my rating is that the value for money does not compare well with other Indian restaurants in nearby towns.

Food was very nice. Service was good. The reason for giving a rating of 'average' is that the food is very expensive compared with other restaurants I have visited which serve the same kind of food. Will probably not return due to the expense as other restaurants offer better value for similar meals.

Arrived after having booked a table for 2 the downstairs restaurant was very busy but given a nice table that seated 4 people by the window. Sat down noticed the owner was telling the waiter to move us upstairs. Restaurant upstairs was very small and taken up with a party of about 14 people we were then sat on a cramped table for 2. Will not be going back not great customer service and food average.
