Absolutely fantastic meal again, table of nine and we were so well looked after. Everybody had a brilliant time. Can’t wait to come back!!

Lots of seating, lots of parking. Dog friendly (bonio and water bowl at our precooked table upon arrival) - staff fussed loads over pooch who loved it. Very good Sunday roast, great desserts.

Lovely place for lunch, with super service. Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive but the quality is great. Will definitely return

Excellent Sunday roast, good meat portion sizes. High quality lamb and fresh sauces to accompany. Also reasonable prices.

Aaron and the team were so very welcoming! The service was spot on and the food delious! The meals all came out as requested and we didn't have to ask for anything twice! The pub toilets and carpark were so very clean and tidy not a single item out of place! Not seen a pub like this for a while! Well worth a visit in my view.

Hadn’t booked but wasn’t a problem. Excellent chicken, butternut squash, leek & tarragon pie with lovely seasonal vegetables. Generous portion & prompt, pleasant service. Also pork tenderloin with hispi cabbage & parmentier potatoes again cooked to perfection.

Wonderful venue for our Ruby Wedding party. Beautiful hall, attentive professional staff and wonderful food. We all had an amazing evening and couldn't ask for more.

A fantastic experience from the moment we entered! Aaron, the trainee manager, greeted us as we walked in and introduced himself, a very personal touch which made us feel immediately welcomed. This is a very pleasant and old English pub, with great ambience. We were served by Jo, a charming young lady who really went out of her way to help us choose from the menu, and made us comfortable with a table by the window. The food was excellent, the best we've had in a long time in a Pub. Some places are little gems, but The Curious Cat is a real diamond among the pubs of Kent, we have no hesitation in recommending it!

What a charming and beautiful pub! Tasty and wonderful selection for lunch in a friendly and cozy setting. First day for Michelle, who was most attentive. How lucky am I that this hostelry is my local. If you like a countryside setting, excellent service great ales and a superb kitchen then look no further. Friends and I are 'regulars' for the excellent ales and wine selection. The food here has always punched above its weight and continues to offer both favourites and blackboard specials. We had the pear and goats cheese tartlet starter surrounded by rocket walnuts and balsamic vinegar, all perfectly executed and presented, washed down with a good ale and a coffee to follow made a meal in itself. The current winter menu offers a good choice with some unusual combinations and imagination from the excellent chef. You will be assured of great food and a very warm welcome from the owner and staff. The Village Common is but a few yards away with the pretty village of Herne and the Church beyond.

Decided to try Sunday Lunch as a change and we were really impressed. Our table was booked at 3pm and the place was busy but relaxed and the staff were excellent. The food was lovely and we decided that we all preferred it to the Prince of Wales, which is saying something. We will be back and as a none meat eater the specials board was excellent 👍

Welcomed by friendly staff both times lunch and dinner. Food to a high standard, and absolutely delicious. Dogs made very welcomed with a bowl of water and a doggie biscuit. Ambience is very cosy, clean, tables spaced out so you don’t feel on top of each other. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back if we are in this area again.

I am sorry to report that my 3-course meal was actually terrible, but the service was nice. Potted shrimp was really inedible and had I not been in company would have gone straight back to the kitchen. The toast was literally black and burnt and the shrimp tasteless. It should never have been served. Being served hot rather than cold didn’t help. Halibut was cooked ok but being covered in a rather tasteless gloopy sauce didn’t help the dish. Overall a completely underwhelming experience I am sorry to say. Sorry Curious Cat team, but you just need to know this and it would be so easy to rectify.

We had the wake at the venue, though of course it was a very sad day the venue the service and the food was excellent. It was just perfect and made the day. All the family together in a warm safe environment with great service. Highly recommended.

What a lovely little gem to find. The staff of which we had direct contact with Sam & Helen, were very accommodating to us and our family, when they laid on a wake for after my brother-in-laws funeral. It was a small affair, but the treatment and service which we received could not be faulted. Thank you.

This review is a tad late, but I still wanted to express my gratitude to the staff at The Curious Cat. We were married abroad, so decided to have a party for friends and family when we got home. We chose the CC due to their beautiful function room. We had meetings with the manager who gave us all of the information needed to make our choices for food and drinks etc…the whole process was really simple. When it came to party day, we were able to go in and decorate and the staff were really helpful. When we arrived for the actual party…it was beautiful! The room was stunning, there were several staff members behind the bar waiting to serve the guests, and the food!! The food was out of this world! I genuinely can’t thank the team enough at The Curious Cat, our night was perfect and the guests thought so too! Thank you! 🩵
