The Curious Brewery Restaurant in Ashford

Went for an evening meal. Firstly found the menu fairly basic, limited and unimaginative. Starter was standard although I don't like mayo and was not offered an alternative. The chicken burger was rubbery, dry and bland, chips were far too salty to the point I felt quite unwell after only eating half of them. Deserts again very unimaginative nothing really indulgent. Will not be returning or recommending. No one was that interested when voiced my feelings. Cold draft through the place too.

Fun and funky looking place. Lots going on outside with silos and lots of kegs stacked up. It was my birthday meal, 3 adults 1 child. 2 starters, 3 main meals 2 deserts, 2 beers, 3 soft drinks and one excellent Rose. Scotch eggs were lovely, pizza great, cheeseburger very tasty, chicken burger was ‘munch’ and my cod and chips was very nice. All in all food came out in a reasonable time and the quality and taste was excellent and piping hot. No one left hungry at all. Cost was £125 including tip. Waitress was very polite and waiter knew his stuff about the beers, ciders and wines that were available. All in all Yes would go back as enjoyable and with a simple menu it fitted in well. Good Service and good food. Local for hotel. Visited on a Wednesday evening, and the restaurant was busy. Food came out quickly and hot.

Ate here for a work lunch midweek, there is plenty of choice on the menu, food tasted great however the service was pretty slow despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. Recommend the chicken burger as it is just chicken breast, not ruined by breadcrumbs.

Met a friend for Sunday lunch, l love the Curious Brew beer and lager, so fancied going to the restaurant. We both had the beef Sunday roast, which was very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive. A nice Sunday afternoon, no complaints, especially the price, good value indeed.

The food was reasonable. But WON'T be going back. Discretionary payment added to bill, without even asking. Service wasn't brilliant. I certainly wouldn't have paid 10%. Not sure they are even allowed to do this.

This soulless plate of nachos cost £14! Now nachos usually fall short of the mark when the cheese is not layered.. in this case however, a sparce scattering of cheese would have been a significant improvement.. Nachos were our second option, a dissapointing alternative given that they had run out of pizzas by 8.40 on a sat night. Needless to say, having caught the train to visit CB, we were hugely let down and will not be returning. The best part about our visit was the refund. A huge shame having wanted to visit for so long given the journey.

Beautiful food, THE best beer I’ve ever had and the venue is very stylish. But I do wish I had been warned before booking with a toddler that there is no kids menu and the seating isn’t very kid friendly. I thought to myself maybe they don’t allow little ones in but when I booked it gave me to option so they must accommodate, but not really. Very limited menu. Portion sizes are brilliant mind! And the staff were very patient with my card playing up, didn’t make me feel awkward or anything. Seats were uncomfortable and I thought the prices were a little steep on some of the food. I’d say this is definitely more couples/adults only venue, not family friendly.

So fed up with this place can’t even do any curious puns. Walked in to try real beers in a real brewery, to be met by a fizzy (keg) horror show. No beer. The bar manager was very sniffy when I asked for a beer, he said they ‘might have one on on a month or two’ but that ‘they did have some carbonated drinks’. We’re worried about the demise of pubs in the UK, this kind of plastic brewery isn’t helping. The food was very poor. The staff were really nice, bar the bloke already mentioned.

Menu was a bit limited to pizza or burger for main meals. The starters were tasty & well presented. Desserts seemed ok but nothing inspiring. It wasn’t very busy when we ate but the service was a bit haphazard.

More a place to drink beer than a restaurant. Limited menu and even poorer if you need gluten free. There is a lift if you need to avoid stairs

Apart from the obvious beer quality, the good honest quality food, keen service, great modern setting with a continental feel and decent prices.

We came here for dinner last night. We have visited several times before, and have always found the food and service, and especially the choice of drinks, very good. However, this review is about last night. We were shown to our table at twenty past seven, and the restaurant was busy though by no means full. I was a little surprised that the drinks list seemed to have been badly photocopied, with the entries falling off the edge of the paper. We waited for over half an hour, without anybody even taking a drink order from us. It looked as if other tables were having to wait too. It was not just us being ignored. During that time, we observed three other tables making complaints and sending their food back. The whole restaurant seemed to be in a state of panic. It was a hot evening, and we ended up so thirsty that we just walked out and found another restaurant (Everest, where we were served drinks within five minutes of walking in, despite it being more busy than The Curious Brewery.) Come on guys. You have a fantastic building in a great location. The beer is the best and this used to be a really great venue. But you need to get your act together quickly. This level of service will drive all your customers away, not just us.

Interesting venue and some of great freshest and tastiest food O have had. Portion sizes just right, plates elegantly served, not vulgarly piled up and a wide variety of drinks. Highly recommended and will go again. A reservation - parking is limited but there is parking within walking distance

Quirky place that is actually a brewery. Just called for drinks and beers all appreciated by friends. No brand beers. I had glass of Malbec which was good too. Recommended if want somewhere other than hotel lounge

Really cool state of the art looking brewery right next to the station. Loved the contemporary restaurant which had a big window looking into the brewery. The flight of beers was really good letting you try 3 of the beers, the IPA is really flavoursome...

Tried this place today on the off chance just looking* for any kind of lunch and really surprised by the modern pleasant decor, the excellent menu and attentive service. Everything we are and drank was first class, tasty and well cooked and beautifully served and...

The food is surprisingly good, and all the different beers are a real treat. We went back the next day for just a drink and ended up ordering some starters as beer bites as well. The crew is very nice and friendly.

We live local to the Curious Brewery and therefore go here quite often, but our most recent visit in March was good as always. The staff are all very attentive and the service is excellent. We have rarely had to wait longer than 15 minutes...
