Great hotel on Eastbourne Seafront. I had a single room with a bath/shower, wardrobe, drawers and a TV. I stayed for two nights, slept like a baby and ate breakfast like a king.

The hotel is nice, but could do with a spruce up. The food was lovely. The staff was lovely. The lift is very small

Hotel very neglected and very bad smell. Breakfast very poor, small selection of products. In such a beautiful place I expected something better. The hotel is totally suitable for renovation or closure. The only positive is clean bedding and towels.

We didn't stay at the Cumberland, but we booked a couple of tables on their Bar Terrace from which to watch the Airshow. The whole experience was great - easy to book, excellent service during the day, tasty food and above all, the staff were really friendly and professional. Thank you to all involved at the Cumberland, we loved our day out and we'll be back next year!

Our experience of our holiday is as follows: Disabled facilities were not fit for purpose, lift was not very big, my wife had to dismount because you couldn't drive the scooter into the lift, the only way we could fit the scooter in was to aim the scooter up against the corner of the lift at an angle, and then the scooter had be manhandled to fit into the lift, this lift was not fit for purpose the disabled rider had to get off while this was being done. Food wasn't up to the standard expected of this hotel, on occasion's we sent we sent meals back due to not being fully cooked, one of the sweets served had a foreign body in it and i nearly choked, i managed to get it out of my mouth and found it was a sharp piece, of plastic, the waitress was called and took the plastic into the kitchen, returning saying they were sorry it was a piece of plastic, that was the only action they took. This was a disgrace, most of the food served was poor quality. we had had enough and decided to eat out on the last night. Room servicing was limited to one clean all week. and in between towels were not changed and toilet rolls had to be requested by calling reception. this hotel needs reviewing for H/S for disabled guests.

Just come home after a week spent at the cumberland hotel eastbourne. Worst holiday i have ever had, rude staff, bad bedrooms, the food was like pigswill had to go out sometime for tea. Not even disability friendly,my mums scooter wouldn't fit in the lift,my dad or my partner had to take the scooter up in the lift, mum wouldn't have managed on her own. Dad ended up with a sharp piece of plastic in his ice cream,he thought it was a piece of ice, that could have done damage if he swallowed it. When he told one of the restaurant staff they said sorry about that took the ice cream ,brought him some more laughed and said it was only a piece of the plastic ice cream carton. Wouldn't advise anybody to go to this hotel. Not even getting any stars from me. Spoilt the holiday. Also food was not homemade. We holidayed here from 27th july to 3rd august. Added a couple more photos of how my mum had to get to the lift and get her scooter into the lift. Got a reply on trip advisor from the manager he disagreed with things i said. We did complain about the food.

Shout out to 'Thomas' for good outstanding customer service given to us. I mistakenly booked for next weekend and didnt realise it until I was trying to check in this weekend and it was pretty late in night time. Luckily with Thomas help, he sorted out a room for us very quickly. I would love to visit again and recommend this hotel to everyone.

We are 3 friends week at view hotel, went into artisan cafe ,bland grey cold absolutely no atmosphere, i wanted to get sandwiches from m&s etc, but heavy rain, my friend ordered, 3 sandwiches cheese chutny , 2 ham , my sandwich had hardly any chutny ,was stale bread, with pink coldslaw ,tortiller crisps i did not eat it , my friends said ham was ok ,£30 nearly. Waited long time for them ,wanted sausage rolls ,but even though was cold wet day no manager thought ahead that more will be in cafe, so DID NOT COOK ANY SAUSAGE ROLLS, they are hoteliers yes ,the whole lounge, is bland grey no artificial log fires etc, seating very LOW unsuitable for elderley which is most of view hotel guests, we have decided not to return to view hotel.
