Excellent classic "greasy spoon", that's clean and accommodating. Zero pretence, just honest food and service.

The food and service were great. It's simple but affordable. It has an old people's place vibe, and you will leave smelling of fried food. But it is worth it.

It doesn't look like much but the food in this cafe is the best and great value for money cafe hands down in crystal palace. The Spanish omelette is amazing. The portion sizes are generous. They have a good selection and choice.

My favourite little cafe on the triangle. Prices very reasonably considering all the price hikes as of late, the staff are absolutely lovely and treat me so nicely whenever I go there. Would recommend if you're feeling like a good fry up.

Breakfast ahoy! Excellent combinations which surely must cover all the bases. Freshly cooked to order and very good value. Staff are very friendly and the cafe is clean and comfortable. Love it.

Second time in a year I've been here (I'm only in CP once a year visiting a friend) and it was a good as the first time. A clean , cheap and traditional 'greasy spoon' cafe with vinegar, salt , ketchup and brown sauce on the tables and loads of beautifully fried goodies !

Food was great. I had the number 12 veggie breakfast and it was just what I needed. Simple, filling and hit the spot. The staff are friendly and really efficient.

A very simple and unpretentious place that will fill you up in a budget. I would choose their coffee over any overpriced stuff in the vicinity anyday. Overall its a warm and cozy place to be. People are very kind and helpful with your request, especially with mind despite me being pedantic as usual.

En casi 7 meses, visitar este restaurante fue la segunda vez que salí a comer.Estaba muy nervioso por salir a comer y solo reservé este lugar después de las críticas fantásticas y sus prioridades claras que se muestran en su sitio web sobre la seguridad de los covid y las medidas que estaban tomando.El sitio web no mentía, realmente están comprometidos a hacer que se sienta cómodo: todo el personal llevaba máscaras, su temperatura se toma cortésmente de su muñeca al ingresar y las mesas están bien distanciadas. Incluso hay pantallas entre las mesas que están adosadas.Solicité cambiar de mesa solo debido a mi propia ansiedad y el personal fue muy amable y servicial al respecto, también limpiaron cada mesa tocada.La comida era genial, nunca pido una hamburguesa, pero decidí seguir adelante esta noche y estaba tan rica que comí todo. Visité aquí con mi novio y su hermana, ya que otros lugares que habíamos probado estaban llenos.No es nada barato, con un cargo por servicio no tan opcional y bastante elevado, pero los cócteles y la comida son excelentes.Dos de nuestro grupo tenían bistecs que estaban perfectamente preparados a pedido y la piel, con patatas fritas y patatas fritas eran perfectas. Mis ñoquis vegetarianos eran increíblemente sabrosos y una gran porción, pero desafortunadamente las judías verdes eran como balas y, por lo tanto, no comestibles.¡Los postres estaban fuera de este mundo! La recepción de nuestra boda se reservó en otro restaurante, que desafortunadamente no volvió a abrir después del cierre de Covid. No sabíamos adónde ir. Sin embargo, nos enteramos de que Crystal Palace Market había abierto un área exterior, La Terrace, así que fuimos allí para almorzar y hablar con el gerente, Angelo. Amazing lunches at a good price

Highly recommended, a modern, casual restaurant with excellent food and great wine. Our server Taylor was very helpful and attentive, and all in all we had a very enjoyable meal at a reasonable cost. I would have no hesitation in returning.

I like the concept of fish market stall & restaurant. We popped in to this local 'bistrot' style eatery while passing. It was a Saturday lunchtime & full. The menu was good, with an excellent range of fresh fish & salads, together with the more usual bar options. They were able to cater for a gluten free diet, with some minor adjustments. The price was high for a place so far from the centre of London. However all our dishes were well cooked & presented. I can see why it is so popular with locals.

Cocktails were amazing as always,food was alright as well, me and my friends been here before and we love it but I’m giving 4 stars just because staff wasn’t very helpful this time.

My partner and I had been looking forward to a revisit to The Crystal Palace Market. This was our fourth visit and previously we have enjoyed excellent service and incredible food. The food, as per usual, was excellent... however on this occasion the service really let us down. It was clear that there were some new staff on that night. We had a very lovely new waitress who served us wine, she was honest about it being her 1/2nd shift, but she was very friendly, polite and pleasant. The food came and we got stuck into our meals, great tasting and nicely presented. During the meal though a waiter was taking orders from the table behind, but he was so close to me that I couldn’t even move my elbow to use my fork. I tried to say excuse me but he wouldn’t listen, he took the whole tables orders from that position, I had to lean to my right and put my cutlery down. (He was clearly not a new waiter, as we’ve seen him before) I finished my plate before my partner, who still had a sizeable portion of her meal left. Another different new waitress then approached the table and asked me if I had finished, I replied yes, but before I could say anything more she cleared my plate and was about to clear my partners. We had to stop her, but by that point she’d already taken my plate and the rest of our side order off the table, so we had to ask her to put the side back on the table. She apologised but it slightly tainted the end of the course. We then decided to have a post meal cocktail instead of dessert. Another 3rd clearly new waiter took our order, nervous, but polite enough. Our cocktails came, but it was clear that mine had been made without the crucial ingredient (the alcohol) I ordered an old fashioned, but all that was in the glass was sugar syrup and bitters. I used to work at a cocktail bar during my early 20s and an old fashioned is one of my preferred choices, so I knew for a fact that it had been missed. I caught the eye of the waiter who’d previously leant over me and explained the situation. He immediately tried to argue rather than apologise, sniffing it before shrugging his shoulders. I again said that I was sure there was no alcohol in the drink and if I could get a new one. Begrudgingly he took the drink back. It took a while for the replacement to be brought back, but again instead of apologising, he just said ‘I’ve smelt it this time, there’s some in this one’. A tainted experience unfortunately, we probably won’t be returning soon. When you pay £60 a head you expect much better service. There was no option given to exclude the tip either.

I visited for Sunday lunch with my friends and husband. The staff were really friendly and the decor was lovely and very cosy. However the food was incredibly average. They had run out of 2 of the fish dishes (and it was only 1pm), so as a pescatarian I ordered a halloumi burger, which cost £14! For that price I would have expected something extra special and it was very underwhelming and basic. Skin on chips were promised, what we got was basic over cooked fries. Our friends both had steaks which were fine but not £23 worth. Not to mention £10 for a Bloody Mary. Don’t mind paying for good food but this is a rip off.

Everything on the plate tasted amazing. So many flavours. Possibly the best chips I have ever eaten, with truffle oil and Parmesan, delicious.The rib eye steak was perfect and even the salad had a tasty dressing. Staff were attentive and helpful. Can’t wait to go back and try something else.

We’ve been coming here since it opened and never had a bad meal but tonight was very disappointing. Firstly the menu has changed and some of our favourites, like the scallops have disappeared. Secondly, the food we had was cold. My fillet steak was ok, but the béarnaise sauce was stone cold. My daughters lamb neck fillet was cooked blue and cold and chewy. Very disappointed.

Gone downhill a lot lately.... not as good as it used to be

A rustic but lovely place to eat. Excellent service great food excellent choice of wine and cocktails.

I visited here with a friend for lunch and although the food and drinks were nice (we both had burgers), the service was very hit and miss and at times rude. For example, a big sigh from one of the many servers, when my friend politely and reasonably asked for milk that hadn’t been given with her tea. There were enough staff serving but some of them could do with some better etiquette and manners. The girl who brought the drinks, introduced my wine as the wrong one, Merlot instead of Malbec, and then pretty much said that’s what I meant! I had last visited a few years ago and it’s a shame as it seems to have gone downhill since. Won’t return or recommend.

Great place in the middle of Crystal palace ideal for food lovers whether you want fish, steak or vegetarian. Highly recommended reasonable prices and great taste . Thanks to Alin Gheri to make the night one little bit more special

We live, shop and dine in Crystal Palace and have eaten at this restaurant at least ten times since its opening. I have to agree with the majority of the most recent reviewers. The food is okay but when service is lacking, it affects the rest. Given the amount of staff present, we struggled to find a willing server to deliver basic needs.

I used to love this place as a smart and yet family friendly hang out with good quality food, but I had a terrible experience today all down to the management and customer care.

I am still sitting at the table and I feel I need to leave a comment, as me and my bf were astonished by the (small) size of the portions. I got the mojo chicken breast and what u see in the picture is the size compared to a normal fork (with some salad leaves on the side). I have to say o have never seen such a small portion in London. The burger my bf ordered was also very small, literally a kid size portion. Surely I am not going to come back!

Food is good, service is cheerful & attentive, location is splendid, have a go! Great tea too to wash down the meal in this winter ....jasmine & peppermint

I nipped in here for a quick lunch with my partner over a weekend. I order the soup of the day and it was painfully average, under seasoned and lacked any care and attention. The staff were excellent and very helpful. I can't help but feel that so much is invested into the environment and settling, that the food itself has been overlooked.

Went here with my wife. We were lucky to get a table as a couple didn't show.

Really tasty breakfast for small money

Was sat down waiting and the staff just went past me. Then everything clicked into place. The food is good but not great. The goats cheese croquettes are good but the portion is small. You can only get the burgers cooked medium so they probably don't make their own patties(?) but the prices are reasonable. The fries are great. The drinks are decently priced. Would I go again? Yes but I'll try some other places first.

First time in this place, it's family run so everyone was friendly but for me the food wasn't as good,I had a mixed grill came out greasy sausage was horrible, kidney was tuff,meal itself was luke warm, everything was just thrown together with no presentation.place itself is small,I don't think I will be going again.

Fuimos aquí como un grupo de 5, habiendo crecido en el área, no podía esperar para probar este lugar, cuando volvía a visitar a la familia. Estábamos tan contentos con las ostras, pedimos 24. Eran frescos de Essex y todos de buen tamaño (conocemos nuestras ostras) vieiras, bistec, etc. todo perfectamente preparado y excelentemente presentado. Los cócteles eran excelentes y la lista de vinos muy buena también. El lugar tiene un gran ambiente y lo recomendaría altamente

Me sorprenden los aspectos negativos que acabo de leer sobre The Crystal Palace Market (CPM). Mi fiesta tuvo una experiencia completamente diferente. Nos encantó el lugar, que para nosotros parecía bastante americano, el servicio era amable y atento y la comida era bastante buena. Es cierto que los platos de pescado no vienen con acompañamientos, pero la selección de acompañamientos de CPM fue extremadamente deliciosa. Probamos muchos de ellos y no podemos elegir un favorito. Mac'n'cheese, aceite de trufa y chips de parmesano, y batatas fritas eran igualmente sabrosas. En general, una comida satisfactoria.

Me encanta ir a Crystal Palace y he pasado por este restaurante muchas veces. Para un almuerzo previo a la fiesta de cumpleaños con mi familia, decidimos parar. El servicio es bueno, el personal fue amable y no puede culparlos, aparte de una pequeña demora con los condimentos.

Decent greasy spoon for the area, doesn't pretend to be better than what it is (unlike most of the shops on the perade), no outside seating or parking, serves a wide variety food that is reasonably priced, never had a bad experience here.

Just visited Crystal place market for breakfast. Fabulous food, service and value for money. We will be back !

An early Sunday night dinner. Poor welcome for a booked meal. A little incomprehensible mumbling from the greeter, it may have been a welcome who knows, then lead to a pretty noisy area of a nearly deserted restaurant

Been here twice, once for brunch with friends and once with my boyfriend for a cocktail whilst he satisfied his need for a post-cinema steak tartare (which itself was a bit disappointing). Cocktails are nice, as was the brunch menu, but prices are a bit on the expensive slow. And my goodness is the service SLOW. I’m still finding my way around the area, but will explore other places for weekend brunch with friends and a cocktail or two before returning here. It’s a little lacking in atmosphere as well, despite its aspirations to trendiness.

Upon arrival there was no form of greeting, my partner rudely told not to sit somewhere whilst only leaning to retrieve her phone from a bag.

Had a great meal here last night. Scallops were cooked to perfection and the tuna tartare was good, a little too much avocado for me, but tasty. Tuna and Salmon for main were also cooked to perfection. The waitress was very knowledgeable! It's very much food let and it shows with the ingredients and presentation. The bar was very slow. Great place to go for excellent food and quality. Not on a regular Palace budget, more Fitzrovia. This is not a complaint as it is good food, just remember the price reflects the quality. Would definitely go again. We only spent £120 with 3 drinks, main and starter. We could have spent another £30 if the drinks were quicker. Well done chef :-) .

Yesterday, I treated my younger son to lunch as he has just been offered a 6th month contract with a new firm. We were warmly greeted by the manager and escorted to a table. Over the next 2hrs we enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal accompanied by superb quality wine. The lovely waitresses were attentive and helpful with their suggestions and I'm pleased to report that there was no intrusive music so we enjoyed good conversation.. A superb, relaxing, memorable time. Thank you manager, waitresses and chefs.

We love eating here. The food is outstanding and no matter what we order we are never disappointed. The seafood is unbelievably fresh - try the scallops! My personal favourite is the naked burger; the best I've had anywhere. We visit London a couple of times a year and always make sure to book at least one visit here every time we go, whether as a couple or with family and friends, and it's just as good for lunch as it is for dinner.

Food was exactly on point .. very pleased with both the food and service, very helpful staff made good recommendations. A slightly ‘off’ wine was changed with no quibble and on top of it all it came in at a reasonable price.

Came to the crystal palace on a Saturday night wiht my family. Service was good, a little slow but they were busy. Cocktails were amazing. When the food came, I was really disapointed. I ordered the fillet steak, medium rare. It was slightly pink in the middle, but I would've called it more medium than medium rare. The outside was quite tough and extremley dry. The rest of our table said their food was lovely though, so I think I just ordered the wrong thing. The manager did take the steak off the menu, which was very good of them. I will return to this restaurant to try other dishes!

Siempre quise probar este restaurante, así que cuando una amiga me llamó para decir que necesitaba salir por la noche, le dije que lo probáramos y me alegré mucho de haberlo hecho. Desde el momento en que llegamos hasta el momento en que nos fuimos, el personal nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. Era viernes por la noche y no habíamos reservado, así que estaba un poco asustado de que dijeran disculpas, pero nos las arreglamos para conseguir una mesa. La comida bien valió la pena, perfectamente preparada. Tuvimos el Menú de Degustación 65 por persona, pero tuvimos que probarlo como una única cosa por única vez, y todo lo que sabía era fabuloso, incluido el Tartar de Atún que siempre he dicho que nunca comeré. La camarera se aseguró de que estuviéramos contentos con todo, y tuvo conversaciones rápidas con nosotros, ella tenía un gran conocimiento sobre nuestros platos y nuestros cócteles. Los cócteles los amaban. Definitivamente iré allí de nuevo. Servicio fabuloso, comida fabulosa, cócteles fabulosos y lugar fabuloso. .

Llegamos puntualmente a las 5. 45 pm, ya que queríamos tener una cena temprana antes de ver una película en el nuevo y fabuloso cine Everyman en Crystal Palace. Cuando hicimos la reserva, nos explicaron que la cocina no aceptaría pedidos hasta las 6 de la tarde, pero para que pudiéramos ver el menú y pedir una bebida, nos invitaron 15 minutos antes.

Lovely food in a wonderful setting - the staff were all very friendly and helpful when choosing off the menu. Great drinks and cocktails too - really nice bar.

The food was okay, not poor but certainly didn't live up to the pricing. The service was shocking. I have never seen so many staff in one restaurant and had such a lack of attention. Just a complete lack of communication with the customer. This was the second visit and on both occasions have been told "we are not serving food yet", okay that's cool. Just let me look at a menu and come back when you can take the order. Don't look like you just cant be bothered its not a great start.

Came for brunch on Boxing Day. Arrived and they had “accidentally cancelled our booking”, our food was late, they got 3 items wrong on our order and entirely missed one persons meal. Our waitress even told us she didn’t want to be there! Appreciate it was the day after Christmas but it was a real disappointment and set us back well over £100.

We went with family for a Christmas eve meal. The starters took 50 minutes to arrive. The main course another 50 minutes later. When we asked what the problem was, although our waiter was apologetic, the only reason given was that the chef was Polish! We were offered a free desert but by that time we simply wanted to leave. Nothing was deducted from our bill.We left and will not be returning.

Had the burger with a friend. The chips were amazing and the burger was tasty. The atmosphere was lively and the decore was interesting.

Our friends were running late and we had to leave as we only had two hours of parking. The group that had arrived on time went ahead and ordered food. However, the waitress, without discussing it with us, put the order on hold when our friends joined us and placed their order. Finally after an hour and twenty minutes we were served cold food. We had to ask various people to replenish our water before that eventually happened. On complaining to the manager it took a second conversation to get any type of response from him. He comped the cold food but it was too little too late. Second time I have been here and while the service was bad the first time it was simply too appalling this time to ever return.

This is a homely restaurant with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Offers a fresh fish counter for seafood lovers and great cocktails, but also other range of food and superb burgers on offer. Is was a little pricey though - I spent £75 at lunch time.

Friday night dinner for 2. Relaxed atmosphere. Food tasty and fresh. Waitress struggled a bit with explaining the menu but she tried hard.

Visited here with the family for a sunday Brunch, i ordered a beer battered cod and chips, wife had seared tuna, daughter a burger, and youngest daughter had pasta from the kids menu. My cod looked very impressive when served but once i got stuck in it was clear that the fish wasnt overly fresh, eg it wasnt flaky, which is quite a surprise given their seling point is freshness, that said, the chips portion was very generous and the homemade tartare sauce lovely, wifes tuna was decent and the burger wasnt bad either, it is just missing that wow factor..

Food was tasty. Had to wait a while for our table as it was so busy that day. We all had something from the brunch menu. The decaf coffee was surprisingly good.

I have been to the restaurant a number of times, and the food is always excellent. Myself and a friend went last night, the main course was excellent - we both ordered sea bass. Normally I order the lobster - Marcia & I have agreed we're coming back to do lobster together! We were a little disappointed with desserts.... then we discovered the cocktails! The bakewell sour, should be patented, better than any Expresso Martini! We had a lovely evening, thank you.

A pushy and over familiar server who allowed her friends, who were dining, to be rude and disrespectful to others, spoiled the evening. The manager didn’t notice, and when we did ask for him, he did nothing!<br />Food as always good, but will think twice before returning.
