So nice to goto a proper traditional pub, sit by a real fire and drink well kept ale. Friendly staff and a dog to talk to.

Very freindly and polite staff. Good service and a good selection of beers. Only thing held me back from a higher star rating was because I wad dissapointed that there was no food available. Would have been top marks if they had.

Love this place, great atmosphere & good choice of beers. Also do table service so no one standing at the bar & you can see what beers are on.

Very proud to say that this is our local and hats off to Craig & Loren, thank you for breathing your magic on this historical public house, superb selection of ales, lager, cider, in fact everything, a lovey crowd of people too and run by the perfect couple who are friendly, welcoming and clearly know what they are doing, and we must not miss out beautiful Bella!, this pub is a great place for refreshments and right on the track of some great walks and adventures, cheers, Dan & family.

It's nice to go into a 'proper' pub these days. Comfortable and friendly place, well run with good staff. Dog friendly too. If we lived closer we would make it our local!

This is now my regular watering hole. Craig and Loren sell so many types of excellent beers, Lagers, ciders and spirits, why would you want to go anywhere else.

This is one of our favourite pubs in the area. Dog friendly in the lovely terraced beer garden or inside the pub as well. The beer list is always good, no food served other than the usual bar snacks crisps, nuts etc. Very much a beer and sports pub with several TV's dotted around. However there are areas where you can just chat and enjoy a beer. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Parking is mainly on the main road as the tiny car park is rarely available.

What a wonderful pub. When I first went in I didn't know anyone. When I left I felt like I was a local. I went in 6 or 7 times in 2 weeks. Every time I was given a friendly greeting and treated like I was a long lost friend. They have a great selection of ale's and some very good laugers. The staff is great and the patrons are very friendly. I was at the bar one night and had a great conversation with some locals who all wanted to by me and my son a beer. We let them. It was a great time. My wife's uncle lives on the next street over from them. So without a doubt we will be going back when we visit again.

This is a real ale pub, opened about 18 months ago. It is a victim of its own popularity, being full to bursting much of the time, so it's difficult to get a seat. When its not full the customers tend to crowd around the bar, making it difficult to get served. It's the nearest pub to where I live, but sadly I don't go in very often because I like to be able to get a seat when I have a pint, and that is often impossible here.

I would never recommend this pub to anybody. The pub has changed hands and these new owners haven't got any respect for the customers. The male owner speaks down to everybody with foul language. I know a lot of people who will never step back into the pub again until the owners change.

I think it's utterly disgusting how we were treated in our local pub when we only went for a quiet drink. I would not recommend this pub to anyone and I hope that it changes hands the male manger treats you like something on the bottom of his shoe. Very clicky - and unpleasant atmosphere. Avoid at all costs.

We tried this as other locals don't really meet our needs, we just want a cosy local where we can sit and have a chat over a beer or glass of wine, early in the evening. Unfortunately every time we have been in it has been just too crowded, too, noisy and too many of the younger clientele are too colourful with their language! One for the young townies methinks!

Busy after work trade, not easy to get a seat. Seems very clicquey and if you are not a local not a great welcome. Little bit of trouble and fighting.......some challenging clientèle. Beer garden not bad, quite attractive.....posh nuts and crips, decent selection of "popular" young people beers and ciders.Ok if you do not mind standing around with a drink in a soulless environment.

This is a great pub to visit for a casual meal, good quality, served well and staff are lovely. I have visited with friends, family and held a recent funeral wake there. Their approach is pitched exactly right! I intend to try their Sunday Lunch next.

When we were in there. They evicted a 16 year old lad, and his friends were passing beer out the window to him. And the managers didn't do anything about it. We did consider ringing the police but hoped that the company that ran the pub would not allow it happen again. But it has, and the bar staff and managers stand by the bar drinking. And they employed kids of 18 to serve families we will not be going again and I advise nobody go there the staff belong in night clubs. And they are disresepctful and nasty towards customers. We will not visit again.

The menu is very limited & then when we visited the first two choices were unavailable!! we nearly left without eating but did order, the food was nice but portions are on the smaller side especially the pie which was just meat with a puff top hardly "homemade" pie! & wine is very expensive! this is only a week day as well! We won't be rushing back sorry.

The old Brennans pub in Kidsgrove has been refurbished and is welcoming and has a lovely open fire ; there is a choice of real ales which we were told is going to expand - however no real ciders , (only strongbow!! on draught ) We were there on Saturday lunch ; It was very quiet ; but food being served appeared appetising and looked good value for money ; with a good menu clearly visable, As the pub was quiet it was easy to park ; we may go back when the pub is more established to be able to complete a comparison visit/review. At this time a BIG improvement on Brennans !!

Just returned from a family meal and what a great night we had. Ten of us all enjoyed our piping hot, tasty food. Service was exceptional and for ten meals and three rounds of drinks, the bill was very reasonable. Anyone considering a visit can rest assured that you are bound to enjoy a great night out.

Food was not 5 star, though for me and my family it was exactly what the doctor ordered: generous portions, good tasting fare and, ....the price was very reasonable. Most of all, the chef and his daughter were so friendly, that we had a good natter with them were he explained some of the acts and singers performing there at times. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Btw, a bottle of wine was included within the total price of £48.- feeding 4 of us! Thank You, Chef
