The Crown Inn Elton in Huntingdonshire

This was our first visit to The Crown and it was first class from the moment we arrived. The bar are and dining conservatory were beautifully decorated and the ambiance fantastic. Our food was tasty, excellently presented and just magical to eat. Strongly recommend this pub - it’s a real gem

We stayed at the Crown for 2 nights in the Elton room which was perfect, spacious & comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was excellent! Marcus & Xin were so friendly & helpful & the village of Elton was quaint and peaceful, we would definitely recommend the Crown Inn!

Absolutely lovely place to stay! Our room and bed was so comfortable we could have stayed there all day! The breakfast was excellent. We accidentally left out coats in the wardrobe and they were quickly posted back to us. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

5 couples for lunch time tapas. Food delicious and service excellent. We had a nice long table at the back of the bar which suited us lovely for a lunch time get together. 💯

We've been here a few times but haven't visited in ages! We were celebrating a birthday and the whole meal was stunning. Food was AMAZING and the service was wonderful! We recently had Sunday lunch at the Crown Inn to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. It was fantastic! We had sole use of The Snug, which comfortably seated 14 of us. The food was delicious, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Many thanks! We highly recommend this restaurant.

This lovely old pub succeeds in retaining the best features of an appreciated village 'local' while at the same time having a smart, excellent restaurant. Food is enterprising and good quality. Breakfast good (especially the fresh fruit, home cooked ham and quality bread). Slight quibble. The sausages were bland. The bar is very (very) dog friendly. Rooms in the outbuildings, facing the car park, are smart and comfortable.

This is where it all went so badly wrong... They came with fish and chips for me. The others were correct. They then told me I would have to wait 20minutes plus for my pie as I did not want the fish and chips that the chef had cooked instead.The men carried on eating theirs but my friend said she would wait for me so sent hers back. At this point the waitress should of said we will take them all away and re cook four fresh mains and give us a free drink while waiting. But this option did not happen for us.So my friend and I then ordered two sirloins to be cooked for us as she did not want her first steak keeping hot while mine was redone.By the time they arrived the men had almost finished eating their mains.But sadly the two steaks on arrival were ☹️ both extremely over cooked and very dry.The peppercorn sauce on tasting was disgusting very salty indeed an inedible. So we called the waitress over who was very apologetic and said did we want anything else.We said absolutely not because by this time we were then disappointed, angry and very hungry. Especially as we had driven from Devon to visit our friends. We asked to speak to the chef who came out to see us at our table. But sadly he did not seem at all bothered by the situation and was aggressive in his manner and said he was not to blame and had no intention of listing to us.He then stormed back to the kitchen. We felt very sorry for our dear friends who live locally and had like us been looking forward to our special meal together. Will we go there again,no I don't think we shall be hurrying back there on our next visit to Elton.A cosy meal and wine at theirs would be a much nicer option that's for sure.Such a shame this lovely pub had unorganised staff in charge that were not that customer friendly or able to get a simple fish pie cooked.
