Arrived here after a long drive from Southend, the state of the car park should have been the first red flag but went inside for food. Took a couple of menus and sat down, barman said he would be with us in 2 mins. This happened twice over a 20min period. Went to the bar where he was sat down chatting to folk at the bar. He then told me it would be an hour to get a starter as they were so busy. There was only about 10people in there!!! Walked straight out and went across the road to a lovely little pub that was more welcoming. The toilets were disgusting and the place was filthy, glad we never ate. Barman was not fit to pull pints never mind run a business!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

Would not recommend l got sausage and mash the sausage was over cooked and the mash was very hard and my mum got fish and chips and chips were dry fish was not big at all you Hardly even got any fish in it even even though it was a cod . The only good thing is the staff . And over all it was very dirty .

We stopped off here over night after a long long drive, the sat nav bought us here, we were exhausted and just needed a bed. The room was absolutely gross, stained carpet, broken furniture, carpeted bathroom ( even the bath was carpeted) a bowl under the water pipe from the toilet to catch the water water leaking, no shower. I felt so dirty leaving this place ( at 8am s my husband couldn’t stay in the room a minute longer) before we went to our room we had a couple of drinks in the bar, the table was so sticky I needed two hands to peel my wine glass from the table. We paid £90 for the room ( if we hadn’t paid upfront I’d not have paid at all)

We stopped here for the first time for an evening meal. A huge range from the Thai or English menu The food was quick to arrive. The staff were friendly. When the food arrive it was amazing, we couldn’t fault it. I had the fish and chips from the English menu and it was delicious- a light batter on the fish and beautifully presented. When ordering the Thai option remember to add a side order of rice or noodles We will definitely be back and I highly recommend. Car park available - easy access from the M6 or if you are heading on the A66

The worst Thai food over two thirds of a £95 order was inedible, sauces like water and little flavour , the sweet & sour chicken and Singapore noodles and sticky rice we ok. When I contacted the owner he offered to replace the food but didn’t want to risk it and waste even more food. They don’t refund or offer credit note. We had considered going for Sunday carvery as we have heard good reports but not sure we want to risk it.

If I could give zero stars I would. First time trying this place and OMG we will not ever again, paid £60 for a Thai takeaway, the beef was burnt the calamari was over cooked clearly shop bought and inedible and I think the picture I’ve posted of the noodles say it all about them absolutely everything was awful. Called for the takeaway waited an hour which we were happy to do understanding they were busy then traveled 10miles to pick up so when discovering the terrible food we had been given called the place and the gentleman on the phone (the owner) was dismissive and said that we don’t know what Thai food tastes like, us having spent years living in London eating authentic Thai cuisine as well as other numerous Asian cuisines. So not only bad food but the customer service was non existent as his priority clearly was serving drinks in the pub as he repeatedly said to us on the phone after politely calling to try and sort something out to mutual satisfaction but was impossible. Avoid.

After seeing this stop on Park4night app as we were travelling to Scotland from South Wales we decided it was a must stop as they serve authentic Thai food. Nothing was too much trouble.. We booked some days before, asked if we could stay for the night in the car park and have a meal and some drinks with them. On arrival the lovely landlord made us feel so welcome and our cocker Spaniel (making sure he had fresh water). Last night has got to be one of the best welcomes we’ve ever had at a pub/restaurant. Great conversation, sat promptly and offered the menus of either Thai or pub menu... it had to be Thai for us.. this is what brought us here. The meal was absolutely amazing, so tasty, all very authentic and definitely filled us up with a mixed starter, a curry each and a rice to share... we couldn’t have fitted in dessert if we’d wanted to. The stay in our motorhome was great. We weren’t disturbed at all and had a great night sleep. The landlord and his wife are great hosts and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing Thai meal or a stop over on the way to Scotland. We’d love to visit again and we’ll make it a stopover even if visiting the lakes in the future. Thank you both for such a lovely evening. Vicki, Rhydian and Charlie the spaniel 😁😁 xx

We were having a short break in the area and found the Crown when looking for somewhere to have an evening meal. Parking is limited but the pub is only small. The landlady who served us was very friendly and accommodating. Our meals arrived quickly and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We may return to the area and would not hesitate to visit the Crown again.

We stayed in Morland for a few days and visited the Crown Inn a few times during our stay. We were always greeted with a friendly smile and conversation. The locals and landlady make you feel welcome and so that is why we went back. We ate there last night and I have to say the gammon was so delicious, one of the best I have tasted. So, wonderful food, lovely staff, friendly locals, good variety of drinks... Whats not to like. We will return if we are in the area again.

The haggis was nice (well his name was really Angus but we found it funny). We also gave him a £17 tip - if he didn’t put this in the tip box he took off with it!!! I love haggis, he deserves a pay rise

Thier North Indian curry is spot on and also the Onion Bahjis. Would also recommend the Naan bread.

Prices don’t seem too unreasonable until you realise what you actually get. First photo taken directly from the website vs the second photo of what I received. Doesn’t seem like even an ounce of effort went into presentation and it didn’t taste much better than it looked. Staff were rushing about and making you feel hurried on to leave so they can have your table for the next customer, save your brass and make it at home be half the price and actually be edible.
