We went to the Crown for the first time last night. We booked a table for 8pm and had a drink in the bar before we sat down. Staff all really friendly and really nice atmosphere. There wasn't any starters but when you saw the size of the mains we were glad we didn't have any!! My kids that the fish and chips, I had the steak pie and my wife had the fish pie. The food was amazing 10/10!! We are definitely coming again!!

The food and service are ALWAYS impeccable. If there is such a thing as a 'success template' to operate a successful restaurant, the Crown Inn has it!......Just can't fault anything...Keep up the good work guys...!!!!

a cosy country pub, with amazing food! the stay were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you! we’ve decided to make it a regular thing to visit here as we loved it so much! we sat by the open fire - it was a tad warm so don’t wear extra layers; a lovely touch tho, very homely. great for many occasions, we’d come from a country walk in our walking gear and didn’t feel out of place, but there was a group dressed up celebrating an 80th birthday.

Super food, super beer, very pleasant and welcoming staff Jodie is a star. Never been? You are missing one of the best pubs.

Great home cooked food large portion. Nice atmosphere. Gets very busy and you can't book a table but don't let this put you off just turn up as the doors open.. One down side is the car park is very tight so pick your space well. Overall fantastic place been time and time again. Not been for a while but this review remains the same great food as always and you can now book a table (but be quick!!!)

The food here is absolutely fantastic, no particular frills but absolutely fantastic flavour, I had the Thai style monk fish skewers and my lady had the fish pie, both incredibly tasty and the portion sizes were plenty, very filling. The atmosphere is very friendly, welcoming and cosy, nothing is too much trouble. It's not a cheap place but it's not overly expensive either with the exception of maybe the wine and beer, you certainly feel like you have spent your money well on a top tier meal and evening out. I had been here before on a date nearly 10 years ago and its as good now as it was then.

I visited the crown and I will be back again soon, there was much variety on the menu, and the food was very good, quick service, I was served by the waitress alesea, she was very polite and attentive, I would recommend to anyone for a nice meal and drinks.

Probably the worst roast dinner we’ve ever had in our life. Stayed a maximum of 25 minutes dinner,drinks and out the door. I don’t think the chef knows how to cook a roast potato. Meat was great, the rest I wouldn’t feed the dog. Nothing to do with the money very poor quality food don’t know why it’s a problem to get booked in!

Not been for a while as we have been tiuring Europe. It was jyst as good as the last time. I cannot fault this place. The staff are all so friendly. The atmosphere is great, very relaxed. Above all the food is 2nd to none. All our meals were hot, tasty & plentiful. Well done.

Fabulous meal, great atmosphere with amazing friendly staff. Booked via their online system and chose our time slot for what tables were left and requested a certain area of the pub and they accomadated our request. The menu choice is excellent and spoilt for choice what to have. Looking forward to returning very soon. Can highly recommend, you won't be disappointed

The cod and chips was excellent and large.

Lovely food. Had the pie which was delicious. Chips are next level. However the parking is very stressful. It's badly designed and needs reducing in capacity and re organising. I'd be amazed if there aren't many bumps and scrapes.

What a cracking pub! We were looking for an alternative to our usual haunt. Often we're disappointed with portion sizes (two healthy appetites)! A genuinely friendly welcome from the Landlord from the second we walked in. Informal order food at the bar set up (excellent as you can be as quick or as slow as you like). Attentive, professional and very fast service by every member of their excellent team! Excellent tasty food with a bewildering size of battered cod! Huge and I devoured every bit. Not 'pea shy' with the mushy peas either (other places often not nearly enough)! All in all, top quality, home-made fayre in a welcoming traditional pub. We will be back, and soon! Try their Plum Porter if you like a traditional dark ale - very subtle and moreish! Writing this review is making me drool, I could eat it all again right now! Keep up the good work and please keep those good sized meals!

This was my first visit .other family members had been before .all I can say was it was so nice.it's very clean the staff were very friendly the food was excellent ,I'm a very fussy plain eater they altered my chicken dish which was great. yummy chips my first visit but not my last thank you x

Friendly welcome, polite service..

We visited today (Sunday)for the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. The rapidly filling car park and pub was a positive start, proving its popularity. We received a friendly welcome and all four generations (aged 3 to 96) in our party enjoyed their two courses. There is a wide choice of menu and we loved the generous servings of fresh,home cooked food. Many thanks and will see you again soon.

Amazing food. Burger was nice. Wife had the mixed roast which was also good. Then came the best dessert ever. The raspberry bakewell tart with cream. It's just so good. Reasonably priced too.

My first meal at this pub with my 2 sisters and it was fantastic. Food delicious, staff friendly and helpful with a calm friendly atmosphere. Will definitely visit again and recommend to many friends and family.

Whenever I book in at the Crown, I know I will receive excellent food and service. My last visit was on Sunday 26th May and again I was not disappointed. The Crown is a quaint, olde world building with original features. It is clean, tidy and well organised. The sumptuous, home made food, featured on the vast menu choice, is always top quality, cooked to perfection and served professionally by friendly staff. The bar presents a wide range of popular wines, spirits and soft drinks, including great Coffee. The Landlord, Mark, always gives a warm welcome, ensuring your needs are met. In short, The Crown is a great place to eat, I shall certainly be visiting again before long.

Lovely food, good sized portions and friendly service. Had the mixed grill and really enjoyed it. Would definitely return and try some of the other lovely sounding options available.

Our family of 3 booked a table for a meal at 6pm on a weekday and were blown away how good the service and food was. There was a great selection of drinks in this old pub and I would strongly recommend a visit.

I had the nicest liver bacon and onions I've had in a very long time. The gravy was rich with red wine. The veg al dente just how I like it. Delicious.

We stayed locally and visited with our Cockerpoo. It was actually a pleasant and warm day, so we sat outside. Very busy around lunchtime midweek inside with diners. Looks like a popular pub for food. Great range of beers/ales at reasonable prices. Very nice/friendly staff.

We go to this premise regularly and have always found the food to be excellent, the hospitality to be second to non and the atmosphere to be warm friendly and the team extremely professional in dealing with customers in a busy fast turnaround environment and Saturday this week was no exception. The team were a credit to Mark and Anna’s vision for running a great Gastro pub.

This place is the best around! The food was unbelievably good pub food. Portions huge - that much so they don't offer starters so cost is reasonable for what you get too! Great selection of drinks. The perfect meal - very authentic British pub with exceptional food

Amazing steak and ale pie, with chips and loads of vegetables. Had a lovely corner nook which was perfect for a lunch get together with friends. Excellent range of ales.

Fabulous pub , amazing food. This family owned and run pub ticks all the boxes. We celebrated Mother’s Day here and were made to feel very welcome and served delicious food. The staff are friendly and professional and the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. Well worth a visit .

Meals were great and pub is a lovely place. However, being constantly reminded and hurried to order due to next booking at table just spoils what could be a nice and relaxing evening out.

Fabulous polite friendly staff, lovely food, freshly cooked. Cosy. Real fire in the winter. Seating outside for the lovely summer nights. With outside heater for when it goes cooler. We love this pub , it’s our once a week or more treat.

Consistently excellent food, drink and service.

Beautiful Sunday lunch 4/1. I had the beef my husband had the pork. All my favourite veg, cabbage green beans, carrots and cauli cheese. If I could afford to eat here every night I would. Lovely friendly staff, young and well trained. Best place around for Sunday lunch and always busy,

Love it here. Been here for 30 years - used to be my father in laws local and has such a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend the food. Perfect hosts. The Crown is by far one of the best pubs for meals- you will not be disappointed!

Food is always brilliant. Mixed grill or peri peri chicken (hot is an understatement) are my recommendations. Suggest you book in advance.

Fantastic meal and atmosphere, wish the roast duck had a little more noodles with it though! Cookie dough was amazing. All well presented too.

Family party of 5 celebrating an 80th birthday. The best home cooked meals for many a mile! The steak pie is always the firm favourite, but yesterday there were 4 different meals and each one equally delicious & high quality as always. All piping hot. Staff were attentive, excellent service. We have been going here since our ‘courting days’ almost 40 years ago & so wonderful that it is still going strong and still as fabulous! Well done to Mark and the team 😀

Only started visiting The Crown during the last couple of months after hearing excellent reports from friends. I now understand what all the fuss is about and it's quickly become one of our favourites. Its probably underselling the place to call it 'pub grub' because the food and service is up to the standard of any decent restaurant, except here you can also get a decent pint. Whether you're a pie person or not you must try their beef pie - best we've had anywhere. In fact when we last visited on Christmas Eve all six adults in the group ordered the pie. This is not to suggest that all the other meals aren't equally top notch. Will we visit again? - don't be daft, we all love the place.

the pub is lovely and a great cozy interior, however the food was extremely underwhelming. The menu was not great and the food was worse . I ordered the sea bass it came out cold and the sauce it was in tasted like blended up fish and cream . i couldn’t possibly finish this . the menu wasn’t good as there wasn’t a good choice or selection of food . When going to a pub you expect it to be pub food however it is the opposite. Don’t waste your time going here . not worth it

What a lovely welcome. We have not been for a while but the welcome was great, very friendly and genuine. We had a lovely meal, the choices were excellent. We had pie, pheasant, scampi, and turkey, all great choices and all the plates were emptied. A lovely ambience. All the staff were great, and all very pleasant. I drank wine, but the other half had beer and he said it was a great pint. All in all a great night. Thank you all at the Crown.

Three of us came here for my birthday meal and some of us tried a couple of things from the Christmas menu ( the pheasant main and Christmas mess dessert were both exceptional) Every course, was just excellent as always and the whole experience, food service and atmosphere was faultless. This is always consistently a great place to eat and drink and I can’t recommend highly enough.

We all went to the Crown at Wrinehill last night for a family Christmas meal. There was twelve of us. All I can say is a massive Thank You. The food was delicious especially the dessert. All the food came out together and was piping hot. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Fantastic evening. I highly recommend

Immediatly welcomed by an extremely nice polite waitress and shown to our table. The establishment was warm and had a good atmosphere. There is no table service but this didn’t seem to detract myself or others. At the bar drinks were quickly poured,again by a very pleasant gentleman and food orders taken. The meals were very well presented hot,tasty and amount suitable for any diner, in fact extremely good. Would highly recommend.

Outstanding! We had dinner at The Crown yesterday evening with family we were visiting, who'd been recommended to try it, and we weren't disappointed. We'd made an early booking so were the first people there, but it soon became very busy and, having eaten there, I can understand why as the food was excellent. My steak & ale pie came with lashings of gravy and was the best I've had in a long time. I also got to try the roast pheasant and the cheese & onion pie, both of which were delicious and went down very well on our table! I didn't have room for dessert, but couldn't resist the home made bakewell tart so had to share one and can recommend that too! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. If we lived closer, we'd definitely return! Thanks to all at The Crown for a great evening 😀

What's not to like? Real ale and good food served in a convivial atmosphere. The food was excellent with a wide choice, same with the ales, something for everyone with taste.

Brill food , service a1 would highly recommend will definitely be returning
