Great atmosphere and good company

What a lovely pub, a warm welcome and we were accommodated despite having not made a forward booking. Everyone was so friendly and made us welcome. We had Sunday lunch and a classic meal both were superb, the Sunday roast was excellent and if you have a very hearty appetite you won’t be disappointed! We look forward to a return visit with the family. Thank you, you have a real gem here.

The Crown is an ok sort of place. Food was adequate but not really that special, although I thought it was expensive for what you got. Service was okay. I don't think I'll be going again very few people there and it lacked atmosphere

Lovely Sunday lunch sharing platter outside for Father’s Day. The weather was great and they also had a bouncy castle for the little ones. The roast beef and chicken were cooked to perfection as were the Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

Excellent food and Service, thank you for making Father's Day so special for our family. The food was excellent, everything about the roast dinner platter was second to none and the puddings were unreal. Thank you all, every time we come for a roast it never disappoints (fantastic vegetarian option too) and the team are always so welcoming and efficient. This was a great pub, lovely atmosphere, really great staff, the landlady was brilliant; hands on and welcoming. The food was excellent; proper pub food done really well. The Sunday lunch was one of the best, it's worth ordering the sharing lunch- you get lots more and the cauliflower cheese is included. I'm not sure how to explain how lovely the welcome was, it was fuss-free with lots of fuss of the guests, Well worth a visit.

Our friends live in the village and had told us how amazing the Sunday lunch so we joined them this weekend. Wow! It truly was amazing. You had the choice of your own roast dinner (or various pub favourites) or you could have a roast dinner sharing board. We had the board and it arrived piled high with beautifully cooked veg, stuffing, yorkshires, cauliflower cheese etc etc. Both the beef and the chicken were tender and delicious. The chef is clearly very talented and puts love and care into what he does. The landlady, Jen, is also amazing - she whizzes around the pub making sure everyone is looked after. Nothing is too much trouble. Can’t recommend it enough.

Nice place for a Motorhome stop over.

We visited yesterday and called ahead to check campervan overnight stays and received a very warm welcome. Family joined us for food which was excellent. Highly recommended 🙂

Stopped in for food and drink after a walk in the area. Good pub and food good too. Good selection with roasts on Sunday. Nice log fires when it's cold and seems popular with the locals as well as in the centre of the village.

We popped in here on route back to Birmingham for some food. The food was great, the staff were amazing and coco the dog was a bonus addition. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. We will be back on our next visit from New Zealand

We were really to get there for an evening meal, the landlady said the chef was in so no problem. The food was great from starter main course to dessert. With free entertainment thrown in as well. She was finishing of the Christmas decorations and used me as a steading person as she climbed up to put them up. She even gets the men in the bar along with her husband to go get the logs to build up the fire for a very warm welcome which was so nice on a chilled evening. The Staff are always friendly, and it is good food which is why go back time and again

My husband and I were staying at an Airbnb in Claverdon and thought we would try out local pub. Lovely lady behind the bar. Good choice of ales and cider. We only called in for drinks, but all staff were friendly. Quaint interior. Lovely pub dog, who came and sat on bench seat near us. The following evening, we went back for another drink before retiring after a long day out. Sat in the other room in the pub, again faultless service and drinks. Highly recommend. Lovely place. We much preferred it to the other pub down the road, as the Red Lion, had seemed a little sterile and cold on atmosphere.

Great food, welcoming and well priced.

We stayed here for a one night stop over in our motorhome along with 2 lots of friends in their vans. We sampled the amber nectar during their lunch time, we were made very welcome by the owners and staff , unfortunately we were too late for a lunch time snack. The evening meal was excellent served by smiling staff who were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return in the near future on our travels.

Lovely little country pub, proper pub on one side full of locals, small restaurant on the other side of the pub, very intimate, lovely meal, well priced, very well presented very tasty. Staff kind and helpful. I would certainly visit here again for a meal

Booked a table for 6pm this evening and to stay in our camper in the car park Arrived this afternoon A sign saying kitchen closed and the car park where we told to stay was a dump full of old furniture No call to say the kitchen was closed

A nice country pub. I sat in the garden with my dog to enjoy a nice pint of beer that was not over priced. Also had a bowl of chunky chips and a very generous portion @ £3

Lovely place for an overnight stay in motorhome. Unfortunately they stopped serving food at 4pm on Sunday but enjoyed a few drinks. Lovely friendly people and quiet night in car park. Highly recommend

We like popping into The Crown, it is so welcoming plus it is dog friendly. We ate in the garden as it was very hot. Our food was delicious and the helpings were generous. Many thanks for making us all feel so welcome. See you again soon.

stopped on route for light lunch. Very friendly staff. Had a nice toasted ham sandwich and basket of chips, lots of chips and a pint on the patio.

Called here for lunch on Sunday but didn't fancy anything heavy as we were off for a Spa Day so we had a chicken caesar salad which was so good. Lovely setting & very friendly staff.

Oh joy to be served, fluffy crisp chips, I had almost forgot how good they can be when they are cooked correctly. They were not good but superb. Good friendly staff and freshly cook food. A couple of us had the superfood salad one with chicken and one with Goats cheese, Super The children's pizza where all freshly cooked All reasonable priced too Great pub food ample servings, well cooked and presented. Stopped of on way home from a week's holiday, phoned ahead from Britstops book,to place a reservation for a meal and an overnight stop in the Motorhome, Had a great meal and a peaceful nights sleep, all the staff where very welcoming and helpful, Highly recommended

We met with my brother and sister in law who were staying overnight in their camper van. We hadn't seen them for over two years and the evening was just wonderful. It's a traditional English pub so it is comfortable and relaxed. The food was typical pub food but well cooked and delicious. The thing that made it so special was the friendly efficient service by the two young ladies who looked after us and then left us to hog the table in the dining room well into the night as we reminisced and reconnected. Okay the dining room wasn't busy as it was mid week but we didn't order many drinks because of having to drive etc but we never felt that we were outstaying our welcome or making too much noise - which we might well have been - sorry. What a great advert for British hospitality.

My first visit to a pub I drive past on my commute. Abundant parking, good beers, a friendly atmosphere and rugby on the TV. The food looked great, too. We’ll have to go back and try that. The bicycles and plaque on the wall of the adjacent building were interesting, too.

Great find , simple food done really well, kids play area and bouncy castle, garden has had a good make over and they've really gone to town inside, what a transformation, dogs now welcome too

The experience was fabulous, the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, the food was incredible, reasonably priced and really lovely. Super place, which we have not visited before and we only live in Wootton Wawen, but we will definitely be going back. 5*****

Stopped here overnight in our motorhome, the Crown is on Britstops. Had a good meal, very quick service and very friendly pub owners and bar staff. No services for a motorhome other than a warm welcome. Well worth a stopover.

A very friendly village pub. We went in for a meal last week and both had steak, chips with all the trimmings. Both steaks, one rare and one not, were excellent and extremely good value for money. We ordered a bottle of Rioja which was 'perfecto'. See you again soon Jenny, Dave and the team.

Such a lovely friendly place - 4 of us stopped there overnight 21 August in two motorhomes. Had fabulous welcome, amazing food (no chance we could finish the generous portions) and faultless service. No EHU but would still thoroughly recommend this place - 10 minutes off the M42 - as a stopover from, say, the south or south east heading to Wales or Lake District. Postcode CV35 8LJ

After a morning off roaring nearby we called in to the Crown for a fabulous Sunday lunch! I had the beef which was perfect! A substantial meal full of flavour! And then to top it off the Passion fruit and mango eton mess was amazing . Good, prompt service, We'll definitely be back.

First pint at a pub since lockdown eased. The Crown is very well organised. Our drinks came quickly and were spot on. The garden is a real sun trap, so take your shades and some sun block. Highly recommended

We met friends here who had recommended The Crown for Sunday lunch. I can honestly say this was one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever eaten. We shared the Sunday lunch board for 2 and everything was perfect. Great value and delightful staff. Well done!!

It’s difficult to find places that serve Baked Cod. I asked Mark the chef if he did this last night and he said yes. He ordered piece of loin Cod last night which arrived fresh today and was absolutely delicious, in fact I can go as far to say it’s the best Baked Cod I’ve ever eaten. This added with couple pints of Brew XI is my perfect lunch - bliss. This will be my treat from now on a Friday lunch time Well done Mark, Jen and Dave Cheers John

Our 3rd stay here overnight in our motorhome. Our dinner tonight was as good as the previous visits. Highly recommend to motorhomers who are happy to purchase dinner in exchange for your overnight. Lovely friendly staff and great food. Thank you for welcoming us again & no doubt we'll be back.

In the area for a holiday and decided to try the local for a family dinner. We were not disappointed. We ordered fish and chips, burger, pizza and gammon. All fresh, excellent quality and good value for money. The staff and the locals were very friendly. During these post-lockdown times I saw plenty of signage, hand sanitiser and respect for social distancing, so no issues there. Thoroughly recommend and hope to return in the future. We wish we stayed closer! The Stewart family, Kinross-shire, Scotland.

Delighted The Crown is back open as this is my ‘go to’ local. The family atmosphere is extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The pub menu boasts all the traditional favourites and is cooked by a talented resident chef. Make sure you give it a try - you’ll be glad you did!

Treated ourselves to a lockdown easter weekend treat! Not their usual service I'm sure but food was cooked fresh, delivered and on our table within 15 minutes! Incredible service. The the food was super tasty and all delivered in compostable containers!Well done The Crown very impressed will definitely be ordering again and once this has all passed we will come in for food!

Brilliant village pub, arrived on a Friday and the bar was full of what I expect to have been locals. So nice to see and a rare thing to have to push to the bar. Had a really fantastic meal, no skimpy portions here and nicely presented.

Friendly staff, welcoming. Lovely mixed grill and chilli con carne. Generous portion sizes. Good real ale. Genuine local pub with dogs welcome in the bar where we ate. Not over priced either. Would definitely be my local if I was only local.
