A gem of a 13th century inn. The food and service were great. Easy to find. The staff were helpful and directed us on our way!

Comfortable, clean rooms, great food and friendly staff. For me as a business traveler, connectivity is essential - therefore the quick, reliable and free WiFi was an added bonus. Would strongly recommend.

Went to the Crown, Middleton for an evening meal as it was my wife's Birthday. After about 15 minutes we ordered our starters and main meals. We got our starters within a reasonable time, which I must add weren't exactly mind-blowing. However, we had to wait a further 50 minutes before we were served our main courses. The waiter beforehand, who seemed a little inexperienced, did apologise at some time for the long delay. My fillet steak was fine but my wife's ribeye steak was virtually all gristle and inedible. When it was first brought to our table the ribeye appeared all lumpy and scraggly looking on the plate, so in my opinion, any experienced chef should have picked up on this. When it came to paying the bill the ribeye was complimentary but I still had to pay for my wife's side dishes. Overall, spoilt what should've been a Birthday evening to remember and will be for all the wrong reasons. Not at all not impressed and wouldn't go back there again.

Great lunch for my mother in law's birthday. Delicious local asparagus. We had very good, friendly and professional service and the place was buzzing which was lovely on a very wet, Monday lunchtime.

Having a holiday home nearby, I've been desperate to visit this place for sometime with my family as a special treat. I found Middleton Steakhouse and Grill when googling 'steak' in close location to Kings Lynn. I booked via email and received a very quick response. We used the satnav to find the restaurant and having drove around for over 20 minutes, up and down the main road, we managed then to get enough signal to view the establishment in street view to discover it was The Bell. Despite being slightly adjitated arriving for our booking with a new baby and 7 year old in tow, the food and service soon rectified the hassle. Beautiful food and fantastic atmosphere. Only slight gripe was that the waiter couldn't give us any detail on the lobster. My husband and I had never tried it and he couldn't give us any idea of taste, how it was served or how it was eaten. We risked it anyway and we're delighted with it. Will definitely be visiting again, now we know where to find it!

We have had several meals here. It is a nice quaint village pub and the food is very nice. I find the menu a bit boring if you go too often and I tend to have the same thing every time. Perhaps a nice pork dish in a creamy white wine sauce, lovely!!!! Having said that it is fine if you don't want anything too posh although a little pricey for a pub in general the food is good quality/

Visited here on a Sunday evening by recommendation whilst staying the area for a few days. Firstly there were flies everywhere, very off putting making it very difficult to eat. The food was bland and dreadful, I had a beef goulash which, as well as a tiny portion, was baked for far too long and was hard and dry ( perhaps it had been microwaved?). Others meals were unseasoned and pastry on steak and ale pie was undercooked. In fairness, the one meal that tasted ok was my sons sirloin steak. When asked find we enjoy our meal I said no which was greeted with"oh" and the waitress walked away and didn't come back. Family on other table also complained of tough meat but by the looks on their faces left unhappy too. Perhaps we just visited on a bad day but really can't see what would warrant such high marks.

Not particularly welcoming. Asked twice if we had booked or were guests and then said they could fit us in. Food was very good although a bit on the pricey side. Nice atmosphere. No musak, kids or dogs - a blessing. Chairs hard but there are comfy ones in the lounge area. Nice toilets.

Very nice steak house and the fish special was tasty too .Visited with my 84 year old and she enjoyed it too . A bit pricey if you have side orders as steak only comes with one side but it was nicely served and well presented .

Tried to book a table of 12 for a family birthday. Told very bluntly that I couldn't book more than 8 people on a Friday or Saturday night. Rude and unhelpful. They've lost a regular visitor.

Visited the Crown, as I do quite frequently. We like the atmosphere, friendliness and attitude of the staff in particular the manager. This time we took relatives who were visiting the area. Food was very good as always. However this was spoilt by the service received, there was a certain lack of energy from the person who served us, she seemed very apathetic in general. Apparently she is the new manager, the previous one having left. Great shame because the other lady was a great Mein Host, as I say food was excellent but service has gone downhill from last visits

I chose The Crown Inn to meet up for lunch with my friends who live in the area because I was staying near Stamford in Lincolnshire this particular week and it was convenient for me to drive to. It also had good reviews in TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. The menu was not overcrowded with lots of dishes but concentrated instead on quality, cooked to order food.I chose a ribeye steak topped with a chicken breast coated in a spicy, piquant marinade. The steak was cooked exactly to my liking and the accompanying salad and jacket potato (there was a choice of chips and vegetables if preferred) was well presented and delicious. My friends chose other items from the menu and were equally happy with the food. Not a "lite bite" type of menu although there was a number of lighter dishes available but good value for money and excellent, friendly service. If you don't want all the hassle of driving to and parking in the centre of Kings Lynn to enjoy a good lunch or dinner, then this is for you only a couple of miles outside the town.

Set on a village green, this lovely restaurant/hotel is very contemporary in decor and the menu varied. Although we only went for the fish and chips it was wonderful with great service and staff second to none.

Stopped off here as had heard it was a good place to grab a bite of lunch and was not dissapointed. Friendly courteous staff, amazing food, although service was a bit slow, but well worth it. Had a club sandwich and a chilli burger, all freshly cooked home made and tasty. Served on a wooden board and excellent attention to detail. Will definitely be back. Thanks.

After 8 summers touring the UK, we finally found this year what we suspected the genuine British dishes should be. Local produce and traditional making! Fed up with chorizo everywhere (in Spain we only use it to make sandwiches and with pulses!) and bored with coriander-taste ruling most tables, we congratulate The Crown Inn. Only pity the theme of the whole inn is hunting ... Nobody (and nowhere) is perfect...

Great food,, service and atmosphere.Slightly higher priced than other places but worth it you certianly get value for money. One or two things,, My calamari was over cooked and very chewy, also they could do with a Draught Beer (John Smiths) and a draught Cider (Scrumpy Jack) Will certainly be visiting again, this pub makes a refreshing change to many of the other locals in the area.

We went here for dinner after driving past by chance. We weren't sure as although it looked nice from the outside there weren't many cars. Little did we know the car park was around the back!Went in to a really friendly welcome. The food didn't take too long and the steak is the best I have ever had. Would also recommend the rack of ribs and my husband loved his lamb too. This is the best meal we have had on our holiday and the fact it was busy mid week says a lot I think. Probably best to book. Also check out their website as there may be offers to print off.Highly recommended. Well worth the money.
