The Crown in Sundridge in Bromley

The Cown catered for my sisters wake and did an extremely good job. The food was great and they really looked after us. I would highly recommend them.

Have reviewed the Crown before, not always entirely favourably. However 6 of us mature friends went for a Christmas lunch together and we had a very good time. We had all chosen different 3 course meals from their Festive menu well in advance at the time of booking. We were all satisfied with our choices which arrived promptly with pleasant service. Vegetables were well cooked and a good variety. Nicely decorated festive table and crackers that were so bad they were good and gave us a good laugh. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Nice and quiet as we dined but later in the bar at the other end there was a lot of dog barking which I could have done without. Overall a good time was had and, as locals, we shall return.

Me and my fiancée went for a Sunday lunch and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I had the roast rump of beef and my other half had the chicken both of which were lovely. My beef especially was cooked just how I would want it. Ordered some extra sides to compliment it including the cauliflower cheese which also was nice. Staff were great and attentive doing table service for us all throughout lunch even after we had finished eating. Will definitely be returning with friends!

Booked a meal for myself and family at the Crown on a Saturday and luckily they managed to get us in ! Lovely atmosphere in the pub and staff were always on hand to help out with quick service and answering questions about the menu when needed. Food was very nice and wasn’t made to wait for it which was great. And a bonus was they had some of my favourite beers on tap. Would definitely recommended and will be returning!

food ok but pricey and measly portions of veg, looked and tasted as frozen and literally one spoonful. Pub itself has nice interior but staff could be better trained and be aware of serving customers in turn, not sure if we will return

Sunday Roast - small portions. sadly it appeared as if the chicken had not been near an oven anytime recently, pale colour meat, non crispy skin, not appealing to eat. Beef looked like pre-cooked slices. Mixed veg, potentially from a frozen packet. Gravy was the best item. Costs £18/£19 similar to other places where the quality and quantity was far better. Raised issues with a staff member, who response was to say s no one else had complained. Reviews would suggest otherwise.

Had a pint John Smiths in the bar before we sat down not good was cloudy . Meal was lovely nice selection of meats & vegetables made up for the bad pint . Staff very friendly they work very hard didn't have the heart to complain about my pint

Went for Sunday lunch. Service was very slow and not enough people waiting on tables. The same person who attended the table also made drinks. Have eaten a few times before and the roast was much better than yesterday. £18 for an average roast chicken dinner is pretty punchy. Had to wait ages to have the table cleared, couldn't catch a waiters eye, then had to go to the bar to ask for pudding menus in the hope they would clear the table. When the bill came they had automatically added 10% which was a bit cheeky considering the service had been so slapdash.

Being our local we have been lots of time, the high prices have always been accepted due to the super lovely staff that used to work there. This Friday was an exception, it wasn’t that full, the food took ages, the 4 starters came and they put them in the middle to share, and then disappeared and didn’t bring us plates. The main courses arrived later (old plates not cleared yet) and the salad was served in a hot bowl on a hot plate - when highlighted felt like we were being told off! Then no sauce for chips offered and didn’t want to go off searching for anyone. The 5oz steak was really pushing it on the lower limits of acceptable size (luckily wasn’t too hungry but the plate of food should have been far less in cost) whereas the chicken pie and mash portion was massive and good value for money. Then when paying the bill and asking for the service charge to be removed - we had our bill almost thrown at us and no further interaction. Where have the super friendly chatty staff gone? It was clear they were short-staffed - but it wasn’t that busy. A shame really

Disappointing! This was a great pub when it first opened. Now they post passive aggressive signs all over their tables telling people their kids and pets MUST behave at all times. Plus, they just charged me £17.70 for a pint of larger and a small house white. They've lost my future custom.

Fabulous, helpful friendly staff, lovely food and a decent selection of drinks. The interior space could use something to improve the acoustics as it easily becomes a bit loud but that's my only criticism

I have previously given The Crown a glowing review and this was our 3rd occasion there for dinner. However this Saturday night was a different story. We booked for 4, 2 adult family members visiting us locals, and were told the kitchen would close at 8pm. We never thought that having finished our mains there would be no desserts as it was gone 8pm. Very disappointing. You need to order from the bar and had to wait quite a time to be served, hence too late for desserts. It was also incredibly noisy and seemed like everyone was shouting at each other plus the TV at the other end of pub utterly blaring out the Eurovision Song Contest. Conversation was near impossible due to noise levels and we asked for the TV to be turned down, which they did a bit. A disappointing evening this time and I hesitate between 2 or 3 stars. Felt slightly embarrassed at taking our family to eat there. Mains were OK. Please brush up your service and also consider people may want to have a conversation.

We had such a fantastic experience in this lovely dog friendly pub. The service was amazing, and the staff was very friendly and professional. The management was absolutely excellent and made us feel very welcome. The food was great, and the ambience was top, with a lot of friendly people, dogs around, and a good DJ. We will definitely come back and we really recommend this place if you want to spend a beautiful day.

This pub is very similar to a Wetherspoon pub with the exception on price and service. The food and drink is twice the price as a spoons pub - the menu being fairly similar pub grub. The service, however, is worse. I and my friend were waiting a fair time to be served, when it was our turn to be served we were ignored twice in a row. At that point we walked out and found a proper pub. I think the pub should change its name from the Crown to the Clown.

Absolutely no table service Staff were untrained in hospitality Menu wasn’t great but what was served was ok.Just ok. Hygiene isn’t top of the list of priorities either 🤢

What a fantastic looking pub; they have really gone to town on the design. It is good and spacious with nice features including grand chandeliers. The garden is a decent size too. The team are very friendly and I am sure they will get quicker...

This newly refurbished pub has been decorated to a high standard and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was good quality and they had a good range of cocktails! Looking forward to to trying out the lovely garden when the weather allows.

I visited the Crown with my mum for dinner and drinks. The pub is beautifully decorated, the staff are really friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing! Great atmosphere we really enjoyed our evening and will be returning again!
