Excellent food and service. Steak cooked how I like it . Drinks are very reasonable with discounts on some drinks on Mondays.

The food was hot and well presented and the staff were very helpful always had an answer to questions asked. Defo go again

I don't usually write reviews but The Crown and Anchor's food and customer service blew me away. Our meals were delicious and piping hot which I find is so rare now at most restaurants. The lady serving us was so lovely and helpful, you were served promptly and no need to chase staff for dessert menu or bill. Lovely place, lovely food and service. 5 Star, highly recommend.

Staff are always jolly and very helpful. They was very helpful with the gluten allergy on our table and seemed very knowledgeable.

Booked a table approximately 2 weeks prior for 12 people to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. When we arrived the pub was packed and we were given 2 small round tables just inside the door. When I queried this was told they had large parties also booked and they had nowhere else to sit us. How we were expected to seat 12 people round two small tables was beyond me so we left. A very disappointing end to my husbands birthday

It's a sizzler pub - so a chain. If you're looking for cordon bleu cooking - this is not the place. BUT we were looking for somewhere for a family catch up - a large group of us with (well behaved) kids. We wanted somewhere to eat and socialise without worrying about them. The food was really nice - perhaps my vegetables we a bit too 'sizzled' but it was still tasty and my steak was nice. The burgers were good and the kids menu made the kids happy - particularly the build your own sundae. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we had a really good experience - and it was excellent value for money.

I had my moms wake there on Wednesday 28th June and the staff were very welcoming and hard working, nothing was too much for them. The buffet that was put on was amazing and freshly done. They took the stress out of day that was hard enough

I went with my husband and our friends. We were greeted at the bar by a lovely young lady who served our drinks. We found a table and looked at the menu. There is lots of choice and ordering is easy. Just scan the QR code on the table. Once we made our choices we ordered 1 old faithful burger, and 3 steaks, 1 with scampi, 1 with prawns and the other with ribs. The meals arrived around 20 mins after ordering. They were hot, a good size and delicious. My friend ordered the banofee cheesecake for pudding, and that too was a good size and delicious. The price of the food was really reasonable for the quality. The men said the beer was lovely too. Its the first time we have eaten there and won't be the last. The staff are all lovely, and many compliments to the chef! We will be recommending to others.

A small group of us had lunched there every three to four weeks for many years, not least because they offered a choice of three cask ales and would happily have awarded it at least four stars. In addition to the quality of the cask ales the menu offered plenty of choice, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and courteous. On recent visits (every three months or more because of disappointment) there has AT MOST been one cask available and on one occasion it wan't fit to drink.

If I could have given this establishment zero starts I would have done so, it is the worst pub lunch I have ever experienced, food totally tasteless ( less than half of the food eaten) and service slow and unfriendly not welcoming at all.

Just visited the crown and anchor, and was so impressed with all aspects of our visit. The track and trace details were taken on entry and the ordering measures were explained clearly by a lovely member of staff named garath who was very professional. The barman Adam was great and explained fully how the government discount was applied. We ordered 5 meals drinks and puddings it came £24.80. It was lovely to have a family meal out without breaking the bank. The food was amazing and served very promptly. Can’t wait to come back
