Booked a table approximately 2 weeks prior for 12 people to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. When we arrived the pub was packed and we were given 2 small round tables just inside the door. When I queried this was told they had large parties also booked and they had nowhere else to sit us. How we were expected to seat 12 people round two small tables was beyond me so we left. A very disappointing end to my husbands birthday

spent a few hours in there drinking , then ordered a take out , worst take out ive ever had and thats saying something . great pub but has let them down .

It's a sizzler pub - so a chain. If you're looking for cordon bleu cooking - this is not the place. BUT we were looking for somewhere for a family catch up - a large group of us with (well behaved) kids. We wanted somewhere to eat and socialise without worrying about them. The food was really nice - perhaps my vegetables we a bit too 'sizzled' but it was still tasty and my steak was nice. The burgers were good and the kids menu made the kids happy - particularly the build your own sundae. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we had a really good experience - and it was excellent value for money.

Burnt lukewarm burger, dry bun. Waitress was friendly enough and atmosphere ok but food disappointing. Wouldn’t return as there’s lots of places nearby serving better food.

I had my moms wake there on Wednesday 28th June and the staff were very welcoming and hard working, nothing was too much for them. The buffet that was put on was amazing and freshly done. They took the stress out of day that was hard enough

I went with my husband and our friends. We were greeted at the bar by a lovely young lady who served our drinks. We found a table and looked at the menu. There is lots of choice and ordering is easy. Just scan the QR code on the table. Once we made our choices we ordered 1 old faithful burger, and 3 steaks, 1 with scampi, 1 with prawns and the other with ribs. The meals arrived around 20 mins after ordering. They were hot, a good size and delicious. My friend ordered the banofee cheesecake for pudding, and that too was a good size and delicious. The price of the food was really reasonable for the quality. The men said the beer was lovely too. Its the first time we have eaten there and won't be the last. The staff are all lovely, and many compliments to the chef! We will be recommending to others.

A small group of us had lunched there every three to four weeks for many years, not least because they offered a choice of three cask ales and would happily have awarded it at least four stars. In addition to the quality of the cask ales the menu offered plenty of choice, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and courteous. On recent visits (every three months or more because of disappointment) there has AT MOST been one cask available and on one occasion it wan't fit to drink.

If I could have given this establishment zero starts I would have done so, it is the worst pub lunch I have ever experienced, food totally tasteless ( less than half of the food eaten) and service slow and unfriendly not welcoming at all.

Just visited the crown and anchor, and was so impressed with all aspects of our visit. The track and trace details were taken on entry and the ordering measures were explained clearly by a lovely member of staff named garath who was very professional. The barman Adam was great and explained fully how the government discount was applied. We ordered 5 meals drinks and puddings it came £24.80. It was lovely to have a family meal out without breaking the bank. The food was amazing and served very promptly. Can’t wait to come back

Tonight, I was very happy with my food. The hubby demolished his so I’m guessing he was happy. Our friend on the most part enjoyed his but his steak was sinewy. On the whole not a bad experience and the staff were friendly.

We have came to this pub before and enjoyed the meals but today we popped in for a nice drink in the sun and some desserts. The staff are over their feet there was an hour and a half wait on food, I asked for no cream on a desert and it came out completely melted and with cream all over it. I then explained this to the staff member, she seemed far to busy and replied there's nothing else left, our discount also didn't go through for some reason when we paid.May come back for drinks but not food especially not bank hol.

Visited today for Mother’s Day, which my 15 year old daughter had booked as a treat. Been here many times for family meals over the last few years and was always a pleasant experience but today was terrible! On arrival the greeter made a rude comment about us being late, yes we was late but only by a few minutes, we had drinks and starters - lovely but then the greeter (think she may be the manager) approaches me and told me we had to give our table up at 6pm (it is now 5.20pm) as they were only allowing 2 hours per sitting! We had only just ordered our mains, these came out at 5.50 by this time we felt rushed to eat our meal, which to be honest was ok but nothing special. We sent the corn on the cob back as they were cold and my hubbys steak was quite grisly and was more rare than asked for. We didn’t have time for desserts as our time was up! All other staff were friendly and worked hard, shame one has to spoil it. Overall not the lovely mother’s day meal we was expecting and probably won’t be returning here for food any time soon.

We visited for my birthday this month and after an average meal last time I was apprehensive but this visit was much better. Food was excellent and we both enjoyed our meals. As it was my birthday the staff were great and helped with a voucher for money off and one for a free drink. Very good and will be looking forward to our next visit.

Arrived for drinks with a friend at 9.10 pm and order two drinks costing £4.90 incorrect wine given but my friend wouldn’t take it back and instead drank what should have been a dry white which was given a sweet white. Went up again at 10.05 pm and ordered two drinks. At 10.15 pm the last order bell rang and my friend asked if they were closing the reply was yes when why the reply was there is nobody in here, we replied we are and then told exact words were “I can’t keep a pub open for two people”. Queried how long we had got to drink our drinks and told 5 minutes. I left my 3/4 drink as couldn’t drink it all in 5 minutes. Disgraceful customer service, happy to have £4.90 for two drinks and then you have to leave 5 minutes later. The Opening times clearly state 11 pm on the website. Is this a new policy at sizzinglypubs to kick paying customers out after they have just brought drinks because the staff want an early night.

We popped in for lunch having not been in for a while.we were pleasantly surprised with the good menu and quality of the food i had the fish and chips,my wife had a curry.we both enjoyed the food and found the staff very pleasant the place was quite busy with a good mix of ages.importantly for me the building was very accessible and flat inside the parking was reasonable and i noticed they had a special menu for the over 60s which seemed popular and reasonably priced

Went for my daughters 22nd birthday having heard that it was a great place to eat, first mistake should have checked in here. My daughter was refused alcohol as she didnt have her I.d. but our friends son who is 19 and has a young looking face wasnt asked for I.d. We all chose our meals and before getting up to order a lady came over to tell us they only had plaice for fish as the menu is changing, we went to order and my freinds hubby had to pick 3 meals before they had something for him to eat because of the menu change, another man came over and told us 2 meals would have no coleslaw due to menu change. Food was ok not the best but for the price what I expected. Wont be going again.

Me and my partner used to go for lunch once a week and never had a complaint about the staff or the food, after not going for a couple of months we decided to pop in for lunch , both ordered mixed grill and everything bar the chips was cold actually took it home for the dog who will eat anything to be honest. never seems to be a manager there for some reason , and it was very quiet so the chef lol wasnt busy . really gone down hill since the refurb

Have visited occasionally with friends over the last ten years. Bar staff have always been slow to serve (friend who was a regular used to get two pints at a time for himself because it’d take so long to get served) but seem to have reached new levels of uselessness in recent years. The last two times I visited, it took ages to get served in a fairly empty pub (9pm on a Saturday night!), they didn’t have any draight ale on and when I was served a John Smiths the barman poored three-quarters of a pint of foam as he didn’t have a clue how to pour beer.

I really love it hear. Food is fantastic value and I have never had a bad meal here. Totally recommend it....

We visited on bank holiday Monday for a family meal on the way back from shopping. Although tasty all four of the meals that we had were over cooked. Especially my mixed grill which is normally very good. Maybe just an off day but hopefully not a sign of things to come here as we visit regularly.

Visited here for the 1st time with my partner and our son after an afternoon at Sandwell valley. We like sizzling pubs so googled nearest ones and this was the closest so we drove a few minutes away.
