Gospel Oak in Sandwell

I have EUPD and can't drive. I gave no photo ID. I'm 19 years old and full of tattoos. I look about 30. The woman behind the bar wouldn't serve me beer. She looked younger than me!

Food was very good and you got plenty, had stake and kidney pie really good, others had fish and chips really large fish

Good friendly service, the food was very good. We all enjoyed our meal and we will be back soon.

Vast improvement over last visit 2 years ago. Food was better. The portions were still small but the quality was way better as was the service and look of the pub.

Lovely atmosphere, disabled friendly, amazing food and staff that go out of their way to help. Friendly staff who are polite and wonderful. Food was beautiful. Can't wait to return again. Had another wonderful afternoon here highly recommend this place.

Was really please with all the sprucing up of the venue. Much cleaner looking and welcoming. Friendly greeting from Mandy and as it was quiet the service was quick our food was really good. Kiren is working hard to improve the pub and hopefully all the locals will support his efforts and contribute to the success he and his team deserve

Come here once a week with aunty nice friendly atmosphere to relax and enjoy a meal. Aunty likes small meals and with the kids menu she is more than satisfied. Child friendly with plenty of toys for children to play with. Car park at the rear.

Our first time off going to the Gospel Oak and it won't be the last. The staff absolutely brilliant. Hayley was very welcoming and friendly and made you feel at home. The food was perfectly cooked just couldn't fault any of the food. All the staff were brilliant they certainly looked after the four of us and the dog. We were very surprised about a special dog menu. We would definitely recommend you give the Gospel Oak a try.

Me and my partner came in recently and the pub hadnt long opened with was one of about 3 small parties in there. Although the bar maid was friendly enough that's as far as the experience went. My partner had a mixed grill when it came out you could see the grease all over it, he picked the chicken up and the fat just ran off it. He tried the chicken and nearly threw up there and then, due to the taste of grease on there also the smell of grease was very off putting. To say that he couldn't eat no more was and understatement. The lady at the bar was attentive and did offer a refund. But you wouldn't expect this to happen but also as the pub had just opened you couldn't blame it on the pub being busy. Was very disappointed.

Had a Sunday roast dinner and Omg, nothing like the picture. Everything looked like it had come out of a packet. Fluffy mashed potatoes they wasn't. Meat was processed beef with no horseradish sauce. All the veg was overcooked and yorkshire pudding was like someone had run over it. Save your money and go somewhere else

I arrived as part of a group of three during an extremely busy time ( private function/ wedding was in progress). We were greeted and attended to by Keira who was very friendly, polite and attentive to us. We were all very impressed by her pleasant and helpful attitude.

Ceira was more than helpful when ordering. Nice calm atmosphere, it’s our local pub and use it most weeks. Food is a decent standard

Visited on a Sunday.Waited to get served at bar but no staff around.When served didn't feel welcom so drank our drinks & left without ordering more.Perhaps someone should also be tidying up outside as very scruffy & benches dirty.

Had a great night celebrating and watching the England game at the Gospel oak today, food before the game was fantastic, service from all staff was fantastic a huge shout out to all on shift!, they made the pub a great environment to bring kids into whilst the game was it was inclusive of those of us who wanted to go out to enjoy the game but had children we felt safe, comfortable and was able to really enjoy it, cannot wait to be there again for the final, thank you all! 😊

Visited Gospel Oak with the family a few times recently and I must say I’m very impressed with how the pub has changed. The food is lovely, the staff can’t do enough for you. A special mention to ‘Georgi, Mandi & Keira’ these girls work very hard keeping everyone happy & topped up! Overall 5***** service 😁

Use to be a great place to go for a meal and a pint, however just recently the food is becoming awful and swimming in grease and yesterday the mrs stake was definitely past its best before, it was sour and smelt awful, used to be a really nice place but the change in staff has really let it down!

Family meal out for 7 of us 7.45pm. Was advised immediately of waut for food which was fine. Like the way its been moved around inside. Staff all pleasant, attentitive & polite. Food arrived hot and tasty, the fish was huge! Fantastic night out, couldnt fault it.

I had the hot dog and fries, not your average one as this was bigger and really tasty, halloumi fries were also really nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful coupled woth a nice relaxed atmosphere. Overall a really great place to visit!

We waited almost an hour for food , and when it did arrive our Jacket potatoes were just warm and hunters chicken was burnt

Sorry to post this but we have been coming here for years and always ate and obviously drinking. However I must say that we were very disappointed this Sunday with the portion size we got. We didn’t eat thankfully but our 11 year old son had the curry. When it came out we were appalled by what he got. He eats adult meals and this was like a child portion, the sauce didn’t even cover the rice fully and he had none to dip his nan bread or popadom. Wished we had taken a photo but we were just astonished at how bad it was. We will not be eating here again I’m sorry to say as we have never had any issues until yesterday.
