Went there on the 3rd of August 2024 with 3 other people we ate the same food goat curry and we shared a mixed grill all 4 of us have got bad stomach's

Be careful when ordering they adding extras without you knowing.Overpaying for Bot you never ordered.This time they added 4 rice instead 1.Portion cost 4,5£ So can you imagine how many times they Ripped off people.Avoid

Fresh Great food, both veg and non veg starters and mains. We ordered plenty and even got to take food back home. Soya biriyani was tasty and so was chilli soya. It was the first time we have dinned here and I was pleased, we will definitely come back

Pub restaurant with a difference. Drinks are drinks but the food from the Indian restaurant was exceptional, along with the service. Not a place for a quiet evening for two though.

Came back here after a few years.looks like it as being modernised to a great standard.open plan with little booths for privacy.we had chicken tikka as starter it was so tasty with tender chicken pieces .tandoori style you could taste the smoky ness.very welled spiced .the main course was very tasty aswell.the service was very efficient and freindly service .will definitely be back.

The Island Inn is a fantastic place to eat. The food is delicious. A large variety to choose from including Veg and Non Veg dishes. The mix grill is amazing, food is very tasty and cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended!

I used to frequent this pub very regularly many years ago. As part of my recent tour of Desi mixed grills, I thought I'd pop in to reminisce and eat. Firstly I was surprised to see how nice it looks inside compared to back in the day. Very clean and stylish now. The lady behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly, the beer selection was ok, with Madri and Staropramen as the most premium ones there. I have to say I was surprised when I tasted the food because it was exactly the same as it used to be. The mixed grill is nicely balanced and not overloaded with cheap wings, there were 4 lamb chops on it. It didn't look promising when it came out with very minimal smoking and sizzling, but everything on it was decent. The only two slight let downs were that the naans were burnt and too firm, and we got given plain chips instead of masala chips. That said, the chips were the absolute perfect texture you can get. We weren't going to bother bringing up the mistake, but the lady at the bar engaged us in chip-related conversation! so we just told her about the chips only, and she immediately went looking to rectify it, eventually refunding us the difference for those. 10-14 years ago, this was up there as one of the best places for a mixi, and I think now it's been forgotten about a little bit with these new ones popping up, but I have to say it's still worth visiting.

Been here twice now and tried mainly the mixed grill. It is the best mixed grill I’ve had in a long time and I have been to many of the places in Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Surprised that it is not spoken about more as I think it’s better than some of the more popular venues in the locality…

Next up for a mixy was the island inn West Brom. Firstly best to go round the estate to the back of the carpark to park up. From the island is tricky if you don’t know where the curb ends like me! Venue - really nice inside, gigantic screen and lots of little ones dotted around. We dined in the back area by the ordering hatch. Was really nicely done out with a screen opposite with the match on. We ordered poppadoms to start then x2 island mixed grills, 2 chilli chips, 2 tempura prawns, 3x naans and Masala sauce. Mixy was great loads of lamb chops, tikka juicy, fish batter crispy, shish very flavoursome. Wings meaty too. Chips were gigantic - too big really, like eating a whole spud in one! The only downside to this place is, we ordered all the starters and mains together, we were midway through the starters then the mains appeared so we were presented with a mountain of food when really we needed a gap between. The table wasn’t the biggest for 6 of us so we had empty plates everywhere. If they’d have given us 10 mins between the starters and mains then great, but midway though was too quick. No chicken lollipop on the menu as per the website too. Overall nice food, loads of lamb, competitively priced and really nice venue great for when the sports on.

Delicious food, didn't have to wait long and freshly cooked. Polite staff and very helpful. Definitely be making return visits.

Always have a great experience here. Manager and staff are really polite and friendly. Food is tasty and the portions and price are perfect. Not too busy either so you can have more of a chilled time. Recommend a visit.

First time using it i will be back

Visited here a few times and foods been fine, visited and with my sister during lunchtime. Order a mix grill, we both took a bite of the chicken tikka and simultaneously looked up at each other stunned, I said it’s off and she agreed. Complained to the chef he changed the grill but second batch was the same so we left it. I mentioned this to the bar manager and he could quiet clearly see the second grill had barely been touched. All he said he will have a word with the chef. No offer of a refund. Will not be returning.

Seen another review about poor customer service from the owner. We waited ages for food and didn't serve us kebabs that were missing from the mixed grill. He accused us of being wrong and effectively lying. Lovely looking place but won't be going back. The rest of the staff were polite but when the owner behaves the way he did was pathetic.

We booked the Island Inn for our works Christmas meal/drinks, service was exceptional even from before we arrived. We paid in advance for our tab and Dal was more than helpful sending over an invoice and keeping me updated on when they had received the payment. On arrival we were sat right away in an area all together (20 of us) our meals were all correct to a list I had provided beforehand and brought out fresh and piping hot. Most of us had the mixed grill and every bit of it was delicious! We had one vegan in our group who had a meatless curry and thoroughly enjoyed too. The portions were huge on the mixed grill most of us had doggy bags for home, mine fed me for 3 big meals! (Island Inn mixed grill). The bar has an extensive choice of drinks and cocktails, I think I tried nearly every flavoured vodka they had to offer, and my boyfriend tried most of the whiskeys! I didn't keep a close eye on how much the drinks were but we had £369 on our tab left after our food and the last of us didn't leave until 8ish so 7 hours of drinks for that amount must mean they're pretty reasonable! Will definitely return next year if they'll have us! :)

Booked a party of 10 and made sure all dietary requirements would be catered for. Got there on an early Sunday evening to be told that the Vegan Mixed Grill which is advertised on the website and the menus was unavailable despite my telephone conversation a few days earlier mentioning my delight at such an option being available. Won’t be coming back and am extremely disappointed that a place which plugs vegan food was found so lacking.

Came in to watch the football and place is great for sport and drinks are very well priced and service is great. The food on the other hand leave a lot to be desired. We ordered food to be ready for 7pm when the football had finished to take home, despite ordering at least 1 hour -130 before hand the food was not given to us until 7:20. The food itself was awful, I had one bite of a piece of chicken and threw the rest away. It didn’t taste good, smelt funny, looked even worst. Had I of been in the restaurant I would of sent it back straight away and asked for my money back, £45 worth of food in the bin. For drinks and sports it is worth going but I’d definitely eat before you do.

Went for a birthday meal with a few lads. Clean place, tasty food, good slushes. Parking and location is a slight issue but it wouldn’t put me off returning. Good job IIP 👍🏾

Punjabi food has always been the best food to be found in India and the guys at the Island Inn have bought that to sunny West Bromwich. Recently refurbished and tastefully decorated moder pub come Indian restaurant. The beer is always well kept and the food is exemplary. The fish pakora are to die for and my favorite Rara Ghosht (chunks of lamb along with minced lamb) is mouth watering. Big portions so there's always enough for a lunch doggy bag for the next day. Can't fault it and I've tried loads and loads of local Indian pubs. Well done guys 👍🏽

Great new design in pub great meeting place plus tasty food too

Highly recommended food wise but parking can be a bit iffy and even then, drove there with no issue and drove out not even 2 feet and heard my exhaust was on the floor with no signs of rust. Dodgy! Have since returned but not without a hardwired front and rear dashcam

I have never had a bad meal from here, we order every week and the curries, rice and naans are just beautiful. We tried the samosas to day but didn't like them, very mushy inside but everything else has always been spot on. The lamb chops are to die for

Before it was refurbished there used to be bar area and restaurant area now it's all restaurant area ofcourse you can have a drink but atmosphere is not the same otherwise it's beautifully done and very clean, good service well done.

1h waiting time for the same dish it would normally take . Taste different than usual, extremely spicy. A bit disappointed as usually it's great, but not this time.

Now being a mixed grill conissoir of some sort, this is a hidden gem. The place seems newly furnished and there are plenty of tv screens around. We had the regular grill (decent size) its nearly £20 so wouldn't expect any less. The grill was spot on. proper pieces of meat all tasting great. The chilli paneer was a bit of disappointment very greasy and lacking flavour. Chilli chips were great. Plus the pint of Coors was nice amd chilled. Overall a nice suprise to find a decent grill!

Superbly upgraded venue. Good food, great atmosphere and top rate service. To top it off a brilliant landlord who goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.

Been to this place few times now and place has been transformed in last couple of years. I like how the place has been redesigned to give it a facelift. Amazing place with excellent food and staff is super friendly. Well-designed seating area for those football nights for lads to sit and enjoy there food and drinks watching football on massive screen or just on the tv next to your table. Seating area for families too. I was bit surprised to know place can hold easily up to 200 people approx., which is great if you want to celebrate birthdays or any type of small gathering. My visit to this place is only when i want to eat good quality food and enjoy few drinks outside home. Taken 1* off for parking problem as this place is situated right on an Island there is only parking space available at the back for 20-30 cars and rest must park on the road. But i can overlook parking issue as I’ll catch a taxi for £10 and can share between lads. Defiantly recommend this place if visiting in or around WestBromwich.

Went tonight as hadn't been up for awhile always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Tonight was so disappointing waited ages for food the order wasn't correct after my daughter had repeated it three times to them. No apology at all.. It was noisey couldn't hear your self speak, tables were on top of one another didn't enjoy it at all so won't be going again. Sad really we have Bern going up there for years.

Surprised by the quality of the mixed grill and food. Lamb chops were one of the best I've had in the West Midlands (desi pubs). Really nice vibe for both families and the lads with a super sized screen. Gaffa was really friendly and accommodating too.

Decent food nice drinks all in all pretty good

Was on a pub crawl so went to the local surrounding pubs, the Island Inn looks small from the outside but is actually quite big, good atmosphere. Got outdoor decking as well as indoor seating area with a big screen and a dedicated seating area for eating too. Drinks here we slightly more expensive compared to the other surrounding pubs but other than that a nice place to be.

Food tasted wonderful the service was good and really attentive and the I havnt had value for money like this. Very happy. The only down side is the availability but this cannot be held as ther is only so much room.😊👍
