Nice atmosphere, lovely staff and great service! Overall our Sunday lunch was lovely, our only negatives were we wish we had mash and the chicken was overdone. Will definitely be back!

Called in for lunch,as the reviews gave it 5*. Sadly,it wasn’t! They say the food is all locally sourced.Yes,straight from the freezer! Bland,tasteless food.Batter on haddock was anaemic to say the least.Well undercooked! One good thing,staff very friendly!

First time here and not disappointed. Only wanted a light lunch and their Special of soup, sandwich and chips was ideal. Good spicy soup, three choices of sandwich with white or brown bread and either thick or thin chips. More than enough for what was required with good, efficient service and some cheery smiles. Nice, old fashioned style pub with good atmosphere.

We visited as a family and we all had starter and main meal from a good choice of menu. The service is first class, the staff are checking whether everything is up to standard. The reason we didn’t have a sweet was the portions were ample

Myself and my family love this traditional pub. We try to come on Father’s Day if there’s availability as it fills up quickly. Their Sunday lunch is the best we’ve all had, tasty and delicious. We normally start with prawn cocktail which is equally delicious but we’re always too full for dessert. Great drink choices Staff very friendly and kind Nothing is too much bother Beautiful traditional pub with roaring fires Never disappoints

Went for Sunday lunch and not disappointed. I actually had steak pie. Other 2 had a lamb and beef dinner. We were all very impressed. Chocolate orange cheesecake delicious. Good value. Will definitely be back.

We have been to the Crown on numerous occasions, the Parmo's are up there with the best around. Chips are outstanding.

What a disappointment so looking forward to lunch ! went for my birthday for Sunday lunch ordered small beef , my goodness was small ! 2 slices of beef !!! Hair in food , lunch cold had to send back to be reheated cane back with a hair in it ! Tried Eaton mess for dessert…. 1 strawberry cut in half at bottom of dish ! No sauce what a disaster ! I won’t be going again and wouldn’t recommend either

What gorgeous food we had tonight, three takeaway meals, ready on the dot, lovely and hot (except my salmon and prawn Salad!) plenty to eat and scrumptious! Thankyou Alison x

Shared my husbands 60 birthday here with our daughters , though we don’t need an excuse to come here as it’s one of our favourite eating places . Amazing staff , fabulous food and great prices . The bear security team are a great new addition , staff here are setting a leading example to others on how to stay open and protect public and staff with their covid safe policies .

It has been a while since I've been to a place and eaten nice food. However, the food here was lovely, really tasty and a good choice to choose from. The social distancing measures taken in the pub made me feel safe. Every other table is not being used in order to keep people the appropriate distance apart. Food and drinks are put onto the unused tables so that you pick them up yourselves to prevent the waiter having to lean over you to serve. Staff really friendly and polite, nothing too much trouble. Will be visiting again for more delicious food.

A visit from family who I had not seen for months due to Covid19 restrictions. I had a brain wave to give us plenty of chatting time which was to ring my village pub. The Crown in Kirklevington who delivered our Sunday lunches all prepared and ready to serve on my pre prepared table. All we had to do was sit down and enjoy. Enjoy we did! It was lovely . The beef the vegetables and yorkshire puds were perfect even the beautiful gravy. Instead of cooking in the kitchen we were able to catch up with all the news until we ate. Very civilised. Everyone should do that. Perhaps they do! Thankyou to The Crown in Kirklevington for your excellent service and delicious food. I've always enjoyed my meals from the Crown but this was a perfect way to entertain on a Sunday.

We’ve had the take out through lock down and have been several times since it reopened. The staff are brilliant, frequently sanitise their hands. The food is pu on a separate table so you help yourself - social distance maintained. Chris and co ... you are excellent. Have felt very safe. Oh and the food is really good too. Never had a bad meal either take out or sit in

Absolutely fabulous food, friendly staff, great menu choices for both adults and children.Wide range of drinks available. The Crown has THE best social distancing measures (got to be seen).

We have been going to The Crown for years.Ally and the team are first class, nothing is too much of a problem.Beer and wine is always good and prices are very reasonable.The beef curry and parmesan are to die for as are the accompaniments.Corned beef pie is another firm favourite.Please keep up the great work and look forward to seeing you asap.

Nice welcome, could not fault the food, hot and hearty. The lunchtime pie and chips were lovely and not a problem to change mushy peas to vegetables..no room left for a dessert, will definitely return

This was a booking for a party of six people. The menu had plenty of choice & all the food served (five different dishes) was excellent. The staff were friendly & helpful which made for a very enjoyable evening.

Great parmo's as normal, never had a bad meal here. Great food and service, we will be returning soon.

I found the mains menu very reasonable, and the food was very good, I would have given 6 stars if it wasn't for the deserts. The quality was there but very little choice. The atmosphere was friendly with the right amount of background music and everyone was made to feel welcome.I will go again and would be happy to recommend it to my friends.

After hearing good things about this place we were very excited to give it a try. Well if we could book a table that is...The website directs you to Facebook, no one replies and no one answers the phone. Booked elsewhere now, The Crown is off our radar.

always a warm friendly entrance, brilliant ambitious a wide range of menu day and night food is alway very tasty. my hubby loves the parmo and I the king prawn tia green curry and our daughter well she loves almost everything difficult for her to choose witch is a rare thing.when we have taken friends they also think this quant village pub is a little gem essential in the winter with its inviting open fires.we will continue to use and recommend, and we are very much looking forward to our next visit all ready booked September 7th 2019 with my parents, for there wedding anniversary treat from us to them good food great selection of drinks fab atmosphere what more can you give on such an occasion.thanks to all your amazing team couldn't speak any higher of you.Mrs Rachael Stephen(suddes)

A group of us visited recently.The food and the service was excellent. I had a small chicken Parmesan with chips and salad and hubby had pie of the day which was beef with chips. I was glad that I had a small meal as if that was small then the regular must be enormous.Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and yes we will be back again.

Decent Sunday lunch, good portions, fairly good service, good value but nothing that made it stand out, hence the 'average ' rating

My family and I have been visiting for over 10 years 4 or 5 times a year. The same people, same friendly and vibrant atmosphere and excellent food and service. The food is always hot and plentiful

the crown is our local pub, but we have rarely tried it, we tried it last night, very very good,the food was fantastic, and the staff and the service,second to none, will definitely be returning.

I was there with friends twice last week once for lunch and once for dinner. I always carry a plastic bag for leftovers as I have 2 large dogs eagerly awaiting them. Unfortunately on each occasion the plates were bare, not because we didn't get enough but the food was so delicious we over indulged so unfortunately no doggy bag. We all had something different and it was all cooked perfectly. Home cooked deliciousness.

We visited the Crown last weekend to celebrate a birthday. We were a party of 16 adults and we had arranged beforehand to be seated in the Pool room. We were able to have the room for our sole use on a Saturday afternoon, which was perfect. Our meals were all served at the same time and everyone was very happy with their choice from the menu. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, offering to help us in any way we needed them to. I would certainly recommend the Crown to anyone looking for a venue to hold a family celebration.

Thursday evening, 6PM. Good quality food, fair prices, large portions, nice environment and wonderfully quick service with a smile. Would recommend for all.

We just nipped in for a drink, but the lady behind th bar asked us if we would like to see the menu. We were also advised we could sit by the fire as my wife was cold. Whilst we warmed up we checked out the menu and ordered some light bites. My wife had potato skins and I had scampi. The food came out quite quickly as the pub was quiet. Food was really quite nice and th portion size was spot on. The chips with the scampi were superb and if I had to have a gripe it would be that the salad was not dressed. That said there was mayonnaise available to add if needed. We will definitely be back and would recommend this place for food and drinks.

Lovely meal and very friendly staff especially ken! Highly recommended and nice setting for relaxed time definitely coming back.

When for lunch too warm up . Beef and ale pie. Very Moorish but gravy a bit thin . Outstanding vegetables and chunky chips...chicken parmo could not fault at all...puddings...WOW bread and butter pudding with custard very filling also treacle sponge and custard . Proper comfort winter puddings..

We Eat and drink here regularly, usually you have to book to eat but we do pop in occasionally on a Saturday and the staff always try to accommodate us. Tonight was the best meal we’ve ate here , absolutely everything was perfect . Booked again for the week after with friends . A friendly traditional pub . Keep up the good work .

The Crown has become a regular pop in for me. Handy for the main drag into Teesside en route to, or back from, The Riverside Stadium.

We visited here lastnight really nice little pub and a car park to the side. Standard pub prices the food was very nice but it was just pub food nothing to special. Service was abit slow that slow we had to pay the bill at the bar as the server had done a disappearing act. That said I would go back :)

After being told that food was good here, I was quite disappointed with our meals. Both meals were rather amateur and overdone.

Fantastic food and great customer service as usual. We’ve had many family get togethers at The Crown and it’s always been great.

We visited The Crown last weekend with friends for a Saturday night meal. Having never visited before I was looking forward to sampling their menu. I ordered chicken with a Diane sauce. The chicken and the sauce were just about passable but what accompanied the meal was abysmal to say the least. The "salad" consisted of a few leaves of sorry looking lettuce and a cherry tomato chopped in half in a miniscule container. The same sized container held about 7 chips. Very disappointed and at the end I was still hungry. My friends were equally disappointed with their meals too and won't be repeating the experience. I don't consider this meal was value for money at £12.95. I have had better bar meals for half the price. Won't be recommending.

It's quite a few years since I've eaten here and I'm really not sure why I stopped! Food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. They even have us I've cream and custard with our pud!! Definitely be returning.
