We called in to ask if they were serving food. The landlady said they were new, only taking over in May, and the previous landlord had taken the kitchen with him when he left! So no food at the moment until a new kitchen is fitted. We stayed for a drink. The landlady was very pleasant and obviously frustrated with the situation. I wish her well.

A really terrible experience. We were served by three separate people. We were spoken to rudely ("what do you want"), plates and glasses were slammed down on our table and when we asked a very reasonable question ("are vegetables served individually or family style") eyes were rolled and we were sighed at. It was genuinely extraordinary. Other people also being served nearby were not treated the same way. The only explanation we can think of was that we were a group of 4 visibly queer people and were being treated this way because the people working there were homophobic. A very sad situation. Fortunately we are not sad to not be going back because the food was also very bad. The vegetarian wellington was dry, the beef (on the menu "served pink") was overcooked, shrivelled and dry, the chicken was fine but was obviously a supermarket bought chicken breast instead of a quality roast chicken you would expect for the price and the pork was similar - pre-sliced and no crackling. The one saving grace was the Yorkshire puddings and gravy - but not enough to save this very poor and depressing experience.

Fantastic. Stopped for something to eat on our narrowboat holiday. Then decided to stop at the marina overnight so we could go back for food and drinks the next evening. Service was second to none and the food was great value for money lovely big portions and extremely tasty and filling. In the evening the locals came in and made us feel so welcome as did the landlady. She was so cheery and welcoming. Would love to plan a visit to come back.

Visited previously before COVID and just after lockdown. Was OK to stop for a quick drink while going downstream on our boat but was really pleased today when we gave it a try. Now have a good food menu - freshly cooked - and reasonably priced. Good selection of drinks and beer just right! The team were welcoming and helpful and definitely would make us want to go back. Will be visiting regularly and look forward to taking the grandchildren who I’m sure will love all the new play equipment.

Lives in the village four years and only now under new hands have myself and my family gone here. Under the old owenership, this place wasn’t friendly, inviting, welcoming or at all family friendly, however since the new landlord &/or landlady have taken over they have put all the effort in to make it so. Building a children’s play apparatus outside in the beer garden with beautiful views of the river. Fairly priced beers. Lovely food. Great turn around. Props to them!!

Since the pub closed a couple of years ago, we were sorely missing a local pub that we could go and enjoy a pint, some good food and some great company. When the new owners took over in December 2022 - we couldn't wait to try it out. After an extensive refurbishment, we were absolutely delighted with what we found. The fire was roaring, the furnishings and fittings were fresh and inviting, the atmosphere and ambience were great, the service was first class with a lovely bunch of well-trained, professional and courteous staff... and the food was amazing! We honestly love this pub now and go whenever we can. Thoroughly recommended for a Sunday Roast, lunchtime snack or evening meal. As well as just a pint with friends.

This is/was a new local pub to pop in for a pint on my way home. The Barmaid was a great asset in my opinion. But it all went pear shaped for me with interactions with the landlady. I found her to be abrasive. This was probably just a clash of personalities, but it will be enough for me to continue driving to St ives pubs next time. The oil and water combo doesn’t seem to happen for me in the White Hart. 🖖

We were returning from Bedford with our narrowboat, and really looking forward to an evening spent in Earith. Unfortunately, the Crown's mooring is a total mess, and even if we'd been able to tie up to it, you couldn't get to the land. As there was no mooring at Westview either, we just had to carry on along the Old West River, moor up at the bank, and cook our own dinner. Such a missed opportunity.

This is the first review of this pub since January 2018 and prospective customers need to be aware of the changes since that date. Firstly, the restaurant area has been given over completely to Indian/Bangladeshi food and whilst excellent in every way, there are now no Sunday roasts nor burgers etc. My better half and I are both Indian foodies and both agreed that the meals we were served here last week ranked amongst the best we've ever had, the only disappointment being that the change was unexpected and being given no choice. It was either Indian or nothing. Having handed over the main large lounge area to the restaurant, the remaining bar is quite small, but cosy and when we were there, full of friendly locals. The garden leading down to the river is pleasant, all in all a good experience. However, prospective customers arriving by boat from the Ely direction need to be aware of a few possible problems. The pub, whilst having it's own floating landing stage which can accommodate four vessels, is located on a short stretch of tidal river and moorers should be aware of possible rises and falls in water levels overnight. You should also note that the tidal river section is above a manned lock (toilets and showers available) which closes at 7.00 pm in summer and that if tidal levels are above the norm, it may be unwise to proceed thtough the lock as any major rainfall may prevent a return journey and boaters can become stranded upstream for a while ; not something to please the boat company if you're on a hire boat. If you decide not to proceed then there is an overnight mooring below the lock (with the lock-keepers permission) and it's only about half a mile's walk to the pub but be aware that it's a busy, fast road with no footpaths and prone to flooding. Having said all that, the pub and restaurant are well worth a visit and if you like good Indian food, then you won't be disappointed.

My daughter wanted to treat me for Fathers day, and as my wife is in hospital it was better than trying to cook for only two at home. Checked this out as all the chains were expected to be busy. We did manage to book a late 15.30 meal and got there on time. At this hour the restaurant was still busy with two large parties. We got our drinks and settled into a comfortable menu with the menu. The menu was fairly small but the usual 4 roast meats were available plus scampi or Chicken supreme. About 6 starters and a choice of sweets. No prices on the menu so daunting perhaps for the first time visitor. Not wishing to overload we opted for the main course only to begin. Beef for me Turkey for my daughter. The meat arrived on a large oval meat plate together with a Yorkshire pudding an roast potatoes. A plate of 5 vegetables came separately and all was beautifully cooked. We both had a sweet and together with two soft drinks each the total bill was under £32. Excellent value and quality. You may get cheaper elsewhere but certainly not better.

I have been visiting this pub for many years - probably over 30 in fact and this is the best Sunday lunch I have had. Lots of choice - around 4 starters, 6 different mains including a couple of items that aren't a roast dinner and then around 5 desserts. I met a friend in the Crown after work one night last week as it was halfway between us on the way home. The pub is on the river in Earith and is very pretty from the outside. Inside, it's divided into a bar and restaurant room and we had the restaurant to ourselves. The décor is slightly tired, but everything was clean and tidy. The menu was very traditional pub (think scampi, beef and ale pie etc) and we both ordered a really hearty generous meal, and a half of beer, very tasty. Good value for money, not much atmosphere but we were there by ourselves. Good value all round.

Very disappointing roast dinner on Sunday 26th may for 3 people: it was Luke warm and the lamb was awful no decent slices it was like the end of the joint , when mentioned to the waitress she advised they were short staffed, did take off 20% which worked out £14 which I was still not happy with as didn’t eat even half but left it at that. Never again.

Underwhelmed: Starting with the positives, its a nice location if you are staying more than 1 night or if you arrive early you can walk to Helen's bay. The staff were the best thing about the hotel / my stay. the food was also quite nice, if you live close by, it would be a nice place to grab a meal or a drink in the dog friendly pub. The rooms or at least ours felt dated, I get the whole "country pub" style but it just looks old and dirty. No massive issue with the rest of the room in terms of design, but the rooms are not sound proof. You hear people talking next door, you hear every door in the hotel close, we heard the hoover being whacked off every skirting board. The spa is adequate for a 1 night stay. But its very disappointing that the smoking area for a wedding venue is beside the spa. While you relax in the spa if there is a wedding you can hear it so it kills the atmosphere of relaxing in the spa. The also is nothing stopping anyone walking through the spa, while no one is supposed to do it we watched a group of 8 people walk through the spa after breakfast (not challenged by any staff member either), video and stand about chatting. Because the spa isn't the largest, when they start doing day spa offers it will quickly become overcrowded. I wouldn't want to see the spa if all the rooms in the hotel were booked. I get what the Galgorm group were trying to do with this hotel, but the hotel isn't up to par. We had vouchers for our stay but if we hadn't I would have been very disappointed at the price. No one from the hotel has asked for feedback following our stay but I would not recommend this hotel for a stay / spa experience.
