Closed down - no communication from hotel even though had confirmation email day before arrival. You’d think an email to say so isn’t too much to ask

As a mature traveler, The Crown in the Cotswolds captivated me. Assistant Manager Jayden ensured a warm welcome, while Harry’s recommendation of the aspall was spot on . With its cozy ambiance and authentic hospitality, The Crown is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Cotswolds.

Food was fine for the price. The barman was rude and unfriendly. Me and ky friends even took are glasses to the bar as we left and said thankyou. The barman did not even react. Much friendlier bars in the area.

we visited the restaurant for Christmas lunch . There were 6 of us at £85.00 each plus drinks and children £11.00 . We were sent a menu and most of us chose turkey and trimmings in advance and selected a small christmas lunch for the child too . They were extremely short staffed . Our food either arrived at different times or did not arrive at all until they were reminded . The main course consisted of some turkey , one carrot , one parsnip , yorkshire pudding . there were no green vegetables , no bread sauce , no cranberry . The food was presented badly , piled on top of each other ., similar to a motorway stop cafe . A very poor christmas experience which left us all very disappointed .

We went for Christmas lunch yesterday. I was given the wrong starter (it all had to be pre-ordered) then the Turkey. My husband had the beef steak and it was very tough. The worst thing of all however was we were told we had to leave the table as they needed it and we didn't even have the coffee and mince pies that were included in the price. Hard to believe they were continuing to serve after 4pm.

The food took an hour to arrive. We had booked an early setting, 12.40 lunch, placed our order very quickly but had no further service for an hour. We ordered a bread basket and not even that arrived until our main course and was toasted bread so clearly old bread. All hot food was served on cold plates. I went to use the bathroom and heard waiting staff being spoken to very rudely. My husband and I will never eat in this establishment again.

We held pre-dinner drinks in the lounge area for a 50th birthday party and had a great experience. Canapés were really good and generous. Good range of drinks on offer. Service for drinks and food in the private area was great! (much better than in any other pubs we have been to). Will definitely organise another party there.

Two of us had dinner at the Crown which has been OK in the past. I ordered the duck and my partner ordered the ribeye steak. The duck was OK, but the ribeye was completely rotten. My partner mentioned that it didn't even taste like steak. I tried some and it was clearly off and slimy. We returned it to the kitchen and my partner had the mushroom Linguine instead. It was disappointing however that there was no word of apology. The response we got was "the chef is trying his best". They could definitely try harder. What is our chance of returning? Low.

The Crown proved an excellent venue for a memorial gathering (30 + people). Despite short notice provided delicious sandwiches, canapes and so on in a very good private room and terrace venue. Service by two staff was cheerful, efficient and tailored to individual requirements. Highly recommended for this type of gathering - good value too.

Too expensive ! 24 £ for 1 glass of rose wine ? We took 3 and had been charged for 4 🤷‍♀️ 2 starters , 1 main ( risotto ) , 1 small cheese board and 2 expressos : 189 £ youpi ! Food was average and the waitress was apologised all the time for everything ( a bit stressful at the end ! ) it would have been more useful to recommend us to buy a bottle of wine instead ! Not a good experience at all and we were almost alone at 1 pm on Friday . Now I know why 😊😊

The Crown is one of my go-to spots in Chiswick because the food is always amazing, and the drinks are beautiful and delicious. Love the decor and atmosphere. Perfect to catch up with a friend or for a date night!

I had the best time at The Crown! The food was sensational and the service was spot on. I highly recommend checking this place out. Simply fabulous!

Very expensive, you can get better quality in the area and better service cheaper. We unfortunately stayed in one of their rooms, a bit of a disaster, they take your money and disappear, no contact number, just an email address which they do not monitor, a bit of a security exposure, unlike airbnb which are always contactable.

We went for dinner to The Crown yesterday. Was really looking forward to the meal but found the food to be very average for the prices they charge. We ordered steaks, the halibut, gnocchi and sides of beans and a garden salad. Sticky toffee pudding and apple tart for dessert. The gnocchi was okay. The quality of the steak was not what you’d expect for that price. I ordered halibut which ended up being a portion of pan fried fish with loads of beans and brocolli. No sauce and no rosti potato on the menu wasn’t served. When I asked I was told the fish doesn’t come with rosti potatoes which quickly changed to the being told it contained apple cider vinegar ( which I’m allergic to). No explanation for why the sauce vierge was missing. And then the garden salad comes dressed with Apple Cider Vinegar and when we sent it back, it came back with a pile of salt on it and only olive oil. It’s very disappointing when Chefs cannot be a little accommodating with food allergies and think of alternatives. For eg, some balsamic on the salad would have been nice and perhaps the waiter should have checked if I wanted to change my meal option if all I was going to get was a dry piece of fried fish and a pile of greens. The custard with the apple pie had too much cinnamon and the sticky toffee pudding seemed dry and stale with an over sweet toffee sauce trying to make up for it. Not sure we’d go back for a meal or recommend it to others.

Delicious food and wonderful service by Damian! Would highly recommend. Make sure you get the croquettes and arancini bar bites, yummy!!

Wonderful Sunday lunch, costly but very good and the service and speed was very good. No complaints at all.

We had a team outing at The Crown last evening and it was a wonderful affair! The food was really tasty (although a bit on the pricier side!), the service was wonderful (a big thank you to Jacob who took care of all of us that evening) and ambience. The pub is so cozy and warm and is definitely the place to be this Christmas (and all year round!). Thank you to the team and Violeta the GM who offered stellar service and were always so prompt with answering our queries via email. We will be visiting again soon one day.
