Great little pub, great service good atmosphere good beer tidy food

Recently sampled Wednesday curry night here and it was fab. Food was tasty and full of flavours. Inviting atmosphere and the staff were friendly from start to finish. Will definitely visit again!

Went up on Sunday so couldn't comment on the normal menu, the Sunday roast was fab, different meat choices of Turkey (not dry in the slightest), pork or beef! Roast potato's Veg and gravy amazing what's not to like. Atmosphere was really nice and the staff were fantastic. Would highly recommend.

We called in here after a walk and enjoyed a great pub lunch. Most of us had fish and chips, some people had sandwiches and someone had scampi and chips. All freshly cooked and nicely presented.

Can't stand the place they expect the neighbours to tolerate the parking noise and they should put a fence all the way round now they are using the CAR PARK as a seating area.

I was amazed by the delicious food and fabulous customer! I had a sunday dinner and it was to die for, the yorkshires were crispy yet soft centred, gravy was immaculate and roasties were magnificent. Would love to thank the lovely, kind hearted young lady Sienna for serving me and my partner and being truly wonderful the whole evening. Will definitely be returning soon!

Fantastic country pub with an amazing Sunday roast that was not only deliciously cooked but also great value. A lovely range of cask ales and superb friendly service from Cheryl and Martyn the owners. An absolute hidden gem.

Had takeaway Sunday lunch so can't comment on the venue itself. Never had food from here before but we decided to try. The Sunday lunch was lovely, beef falling apart, well cooked veg, proper gravy and much better portion sizes than other pubs in the local area that I've found to be absolutely tiny dinners. Would definitely order here again.

Great curry night on Wednesday's. As a vegetarian the sweet potato and spinach curry was superb. Good portions of rice or half and half chips and a tasty Nan Bread.

Delicious traditional pub grub. I had a thick juicy gammon steak with fried egg, pineapple, chips and peas. My other half had lamb curry rice and chips, one from a choice of three. Delicious. A very COVID safe environment.

Had a meal here today at 1.30. lovely fish and chips and Cajun chicken. Very generous portions. Landlord very friendly and the lady who prepared the food was also very friendly. Lovely "old worldie" pub great atmosphere. Would recommend.

Cheaper and a lot more customer orientated than a eatery just off the M4

I drove into the car park it was full and had to reverse all the way out onto the road. Couldn't park in the street either. So went to boar's head. I went a few nights later via a lift. Not a bad pub.

What a great pub, Sunday lunch to die for, great ales and at a good price. 10 stars for here.

The Cross Inn Hotel. The pub is very good The people are very very friendly 😀 and the food was excellent. 10 out of 10.

Few too many dogs appearing in the bar with some on the seating. Plenty of covered heating seating at rear of pub. Pubs are for people , homes are for hounds.

Went here last night with the girls for a Christmas night out. Service was absolutely amazing. I had steak and chips and biscoff cheesecake for dessert and it was beautiful. Highly recommend the Cross Inn 🥰

Booked last minute as fancied a Sunday lunch - we've not been here for a while but had the usual warm welcome from Cheryl and had a lovely dinner - plentiful and hot. The apple and blackberry pie was to die for! Now stuffed to the limit! Thank you, as always!

Awesome now that the social distancing has gone. Back to sitting inside with all the atmosphere you expect to have from a local pub.

Visited the Cross Inn today for lunch, really good welcome, good service from landlord providing drinks. Food was very good with timely service. Will definitely be going back.

This is a wonderfully welcoming local pub. Lovely selection of ales and the food selection is great (just make sure you book a head to get a table). Currently operating as a takeaway during covid.

We booked a table from 6pm - 8 pm, we have done the same thing before during lockdown and have no complaints, however today was different. We arrived at 5:55 and were allocated a table for two. As we have experienced in the past the drinks service to the table was excellent and then at 7:40 pm, the landlord appeared with his book and told us we needed to leave. We questioned that we had a table booked from 6pm - 8pm and we were told that every table was booked solidly for the two hour slots, we did point out that we hadn't arrived until our expected slot. We left at 8 pm and there were, from our observations, tables that had been there before us and still had drinks on the table (full bottles of wine). In addition there were empty tables and no people queuing outside to get in. So why the pressure for just us to leave our booked table. What's going on? Very disappointed, this was the LANDLORD not the landlady who is always really accommodating.

Absolutely brilliant being able to go to the Cross Inn, fabulous meal and felt very safe being in there as Cheryl has everything in place to comply with the covid rules.

We visited the Cross Inn yesterday as a family of three and were warmly welcomed by the owner/chef. We were impressed with the arrangements in place to socially distance diners. The food range is fairly typical of that offered in pubs in the area but I would say the standard was above offered by many. We were served swiftly and efficiently with the added bonus that the pub continues to offer an eat out scheme of their own with a 20% discount on food. The pub also serves an above average range of beers which was welcome after a 90 minute walk to get there. We will return.

Super friendly helpful “ waitress” couldn’t do enough for us! From the minute we walked in she was so attentive and efficient taking our order bringing our meals. Very well laid out with sanitizers everywhere, arrows for the flow of direction . Eat out to help out was amazing value for what we had to eat. Chilli for me, burger for husband :)

Car park around the back now has tables in it so we had to park in the residential street alongside. Should've checked in advance I suppose. Track and trace book on the way in. Good choice of drinks at the bar. Fish and chips went down well with the kids but my lasagne was cold in the middle. Chocolate brownie won the best dessert for us. Overall, n really nice pub, good service, decent food.

Me and my family live locally and are regular customers here as the atmosphere Is amazing. The staff are super kind and treat everyone just like family. Their food is mind-blowing and its an overall amazing family friendly pub and restaurant. My daughter turns 18 in July and has already said she wants her first alcoholic drink there made by Cheryl. Cheryl has a heart of gold and ensures that everything is to the best standards. I have not got a single bad thing to say about this place. 100 per cent would recommend. -Bethan

Amazing. In this unprecedented time we collected our lunch at he time arranged from the rear entrance. People queued in an orderly manner observing the social isolation guidelines. The staff also observed the appropriate guidelines. The food was if an excellent quality and very reasonably priced. .we had heard many good reports about the food from here over the past couple of years and it certainly lived up to the rumours.I hope local people will continue to enjoy high quality excellent value food during tbe crisis.

Fabulous country pub. I haven’t been here for 20 years, but the staff gave me and my wife a very warm welcome, and when we were spotted standing the land lady went out of here way to find us seats and table. A brilliant place to watch the 6 nations, fantastic vale drinks and the best pint of HPA I have ever drunk. Faultless!!
