Had a nice meal with our grandchildren today at crocked billet, food was good and our server Lorna, was pleasant helpful and efficient.

Like always we ask for Amanda as she always makes sure we have a lovely hot meal which like always fresh and quick thank you to Amanda and the chef

Disappointing customer service, the only staff member that looked genuinely happy to be there or help was a blond lady on the door with a moody man. Michelle the waitress said all she should have but she didn’t give us the overall experience you pay for. Maybe she had a bad day!

I enjoyed a great meal and service here from Samantha and others whose name I didn’t catch, maybe James and Tia. I love the salad bar and this visit was no exception! Although the bread rolls had run out they were topped up quickly and sam knew I wanted some and bought them over! James was literally zooming around the restaurant like a race car much to the enjoyment of Tia who bought over our puddings! Huge sundaes! No fig rolls though a real shame!

Samantha took great care of us when we visited for lunch earlier today, she was welcoming, helpful and polite. Food was good, salad bar clean and full. Service was quick and we left happy. Thanks!

We decided to come in for a last minute bit of lunch. We sat in the bar area. Our server Tom was very accommodating. Our dinners were lovely, presented well and tasted lovely.

Outside is messy, rubbish everywhere, parking is good. Service was good, thanks Michelle Food was fairly average, I actually find the food standard better in Wetherspoons, which isn’t a good recommendation. My chips were overcooked and had obviously not been cooked fresh. My bean burger was fairly average. The salad bar is weak. As I’ve said the service was very good. The killer strike was the price, even with a discount £50 (£60 with no discount) is high for the food standard. Harvester will need to up their game to keep my business. I can get better food, for a better price elsewhere. I’ve been using the Crooked Billet for 40 years & would like it to survive, it won’t at this rate 😞.

Lorna my waitress was a big help and gave excellent service

Firstly can I say that our food was fine , was served quickly and our waitress April was both friendly and helpful which is our usual experience. On this occasion we were sat next to a wall at the edge of the restaurant and couldn't help but notice how dirty the restaurant actually is. The large light above our table had rope and cables above and the old accumulated dirt and cobwebs wouldn't have looked out of place in a Dickens novel ! The light shades are all covered in a layer of dust...and we all know what dust consists of ! The skirting boards obviously are never washed as there was dried on dirt and food on them as was there on the radiator next to us. This was not just wear and tear that would be expected in a busy pub...it is just plainly dirty. I mentioned this to our waitress though obviously it is not her responsibility and she sent the manager over to our table. He could say nothing except to agree and said that there had been "problems" with the contract cleaners and that there was a meeting planned with them today ( 9 Nov) He was very apologetic which though appreciated was not the aim of our complaint. We can only hope the kitchens are to a better standard and that management actually take a close look at the very poor standard of cleaning and address the issue appropriately.

We had a lovely relaxed meal, all served to us by Lorna who was a very pleasant & helpful server. Great range of fresh salad bar & food choices, we'll definitely be back!
