The Croft Cafe in Highland

We had an amazing experience at the Croft Cafe. Mary and Ian were wonderful hosts and made our time there so personable. Having the chance to see a highland cow up close and pet it will be hard to beat! The coffee itself was wonderful and if you are passing by the area, it is well worth a stop off

My friends and I came for the Highland Coos tour. We meet "Doby", the tour guide, who was also the owner and had a wonderful experience with him on the tour. We were able to meet and pet the bull, as well as the many different coos he had. It was an unforgettable experience my friends and I will never forget. When the tour was over, the food we ordered was ready and very delicious. I have been telling everyone I meet to go to the tour at The Croft Cafe!!

My husband and I were on the hunt for some coos. We were headed on our way to Isle of Skye but felt a bit peckish and were looking for a stop for lunch. We came across the cafe and we saw they offered a one of a kind experience with highland cow tours. The food was tasty especially the bakery. But the real fun started with Ian, who host hosted the tours of the coos. He was an extremely kind and funny fellow. We got on very well and he introduced us to highland cow and country culture and the residents of the farm. We got to greet, pet, and even kiss some gentle giants. It was a unique and once in a lifetime opportunity and we are so so glad we did. We cannot recommend them enough and we hope to be back one day.

This cafe is a gem of a find in the Scottish Highlands. My friends and I came into town late but were able to book the Highland Coo tour. Our guide was very entertaining and taught us all about the cows and crofting. It was a cold day but the delicious cake and fine coffee from Cafe kept up our energy for tour. A great place for people to visit if you're in the area.

Although we arrived before the cows' bedtime, the cow tour was amazing, the guide was very nice, and the cows let us scratch them. The guide took interest so that we enjoyed the experience as much as possible. We even got a kiss from a cow. Thanks for the amazing experience!

Been here many times because it’s the best cafe for miles! Food is great, reasonably priced and the cafe itself is tastefully decorated. Great outside eating area especially when the sun is shining which is more often than u might think! ☀️Staff are very pleasant friendly and helpful wish there were more places like it 👍

Hadn’t realised how popular this wee gem of a cafe would be, we were lucky to get a lunchtime table! Food was excellent, home made burgers from their own highland cows possibly the highlight (Cullen Skink a close second!)

The Croft Cafe is a wee gem of a place. Lovely food, spotlessly clean and dog friendly. What’s not to love 💗! We had a lovely lunch & cakes with friends who live locally. It was their recommendation 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 & didn’t disappoint. They’ve started Heilan Coo tours too. Make sure you visit if in the area.

We stopped off for something light for lunch and the Cullen Skink and cake were amazing! We are here on our last visit to the area a few years back and we’re pleased that it’s still excellent.

Oh my goodness!! I’m totally in love with highland coos!! Anyone visiting the area must, must, must experience the Highland Cow Guided Tours with The Croft Cafe!! What an experience!! Mary and Ian were fabulous!! Simply amazing!! Can’t recommend enough!! Felt in very good hands!! Wanted to take the coos home!! Didn’t fit in my suitcase!! Made even better with the amazing food at the cafe!! Do this!! You won’t regret it!!

The Croft Cafe was a delightful surprise from the moment we drove into the small Scottish town. The Cullen Skink was delicious, great for those that like potato soups or clam chowder. The toasties were surprisingly good and come in a number of interesting varieties. Even more, while sitting for lunch we discovered they give highland cow tours when not in the kitchen. If you want a great bite to eat and a up-close and fun way to see those fluffy cows, this is the perfect way to do it. The patrons are very knowledgeable about the history of the area—a unique experience indeed!

Delightful spot with a wide variety of light lunch and brunch to suit all tastes. But the cafe is small, so it might be advisable to book ahead, unless you dont mind sitting outside. People have discovered it and it seems to fill a much-needed niche for food in this region.

What a lovely find! Beautiful cakes, very welcoming staff, lovely and clean, cash only (but they will take cards!) most importantly, dogs allowed! Would recommend the courgette and lime cake plus the lemon and raspberry cake. We will be back!

Real tea, great burger and the best carrot cake I have ever had, lovely atmosphere and staff very welcoming although they were very busy. Definitely stop here you will love it! ❤️

Staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We stopped here on our drive back from isle of Skye, mostly to see the coos, but also had a wonderful breakfast! Great place to see highland cows and get a great meal.

Such a nice little stop, plenty parking and the coffee was lovely. Only about 10 mins from Kyle of Lochalsh and you can see the highland cows when you visit as they are all around the area, when we went they were behind the cafe!

At the foot of the village of Duirinish, this excellent cafe was the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee. We got carried away, though, and ordered the blueberry pancakes with maple syrup to go with our drinks. Soooo good!

A nice little cafe in a great slightly off the beaten track location with social distancing carefully observed and screens around the tables. Clean, fresh and modern. An ideal spot to cycle to for lunch (which is exactly what we did). Recomended.
