Popped in today with family, first time in over a year to work on planning my wedding, was greeted by Jim to help with my track n trace And seated at a tbl promptly Evan though we didn't book, enjoyed our food with great recommendation by Jim and everything was spot on, we evan noticed the the wallpaper and little homely touches were fantastic, can't wait to return, good job Jim and team x

I've eaten in greenking pubs and worked at one so I know how this is all suppose to look and be served,never had a problem with food in there before but yesterday was just awful,not only was the eggs on all day breakfast burnt to a crisp,the grease on the underside of my curry dish was nasty,as I lifted the bowl off my plate,left black grease, from where the bottom of the mill strem,ovbs not cleaned.my daughter seasoned fries were burnt on the top which had clearly been sitting under the hot lights and were cold,after I complained about the bowl on my curry dish,it was taken back,the food wasnt replaced just reheated on a different plate!!I would never sent food out like that....also the so called kitchen person as not a chef,wasnt even in kitchen whites,just his own clothes.

Just been the cricketers to have a Sunday roast.. Service was awful, waited nearly 40 mins for my meal. The pub wasn't even busyThe mash Potatoe was liquid, a farty sized gravy boat and no mustard at all in the pub.They're serving roast beef for god sake, this is the worst experience I've had for a Sunday roast, a disasterPlease save your cash and go elsewhere

Came here with my ma for the three course Christmas dinner. Came in and the whole table was beautifully laid out with a white table cloth, reindeers, napkins etc. Apparently they had done this for us very early on in the day. It made us feel very special and thus we are coming back again soon.Josh and Holly were great, the food was perfectly cooked and the service was excellent. The Christmas decorations on the table really topped the whole experience off, thank you for the effort.There was also another lady we talked to, but on a different day, and she was very easy to talk to and also gave excellent service too.We have passed the cricketers so many times and yet have never been inside. Glad to have finally experienced it. Great place. Will definitely visit more in the future!

I used to go in this place, mainly when I wanted to watch football on the big screen. Not the best place to watch football as they always insist on having loud music on rather than any football commentary, but it's the only pub in Oldbrook, unfortunately. Also, the attitude seems to be that they will serve the regulars before anyone else. on my last visit I stood at the bar for more than 5 minutes to get a drink and the barmaid walked past me twice without acknowledging my presence, let alone serving me- and the pub wasn't even busy. When another customer walked straight up to the bar and got served immediately, I knew it was time to go, I complained to the barman ((possibly.the landlord) and was told to get out. Horrible people.

A lovely friendly place . Staff are lovely and welcoming fast service .I have been here busy times and relaxed times and the staff are the same very polite food is lovely and what's even better they come and clear your plates straight away nice and clean well done .

I have visited here before and thought how clean and fresh it was, the beer is served at a good temperature and is well kept, and the staff have always been very friendly.So I thought I would take the Grandkids for a meal, the menu is quite varied, and the kids have a decent choice to pick from.They took our drinks order which was promptly served, as good as ever so far so good.I placed the food order at the bar and the lady who served us said that will be fine, we sat our table and waited, and waited, and waited.I was just going to get up and query how long would the food be, especially when you have young children, not the most patient of people. The door opened to the kitchen and out popped the 2 children's meals, they both had Pizza which was described as yummy on the menu. Sorry I beg to differ, the outside casing was pale and a tad soggy at the base, and the topping had no colour on it at all. To be fair they were only just cooked, I was going to send them back but the kids said they tasted ok.This left 3 more meals to go, you would have thought that all 5 meals would have been served together, not a difficult task and the Pub was not even busy. Around 5 minutes lapsed when my wife's dinner came out, she had the all day breakfast, everything was ok but she said it all could have been hotter.Another 5 minutes lapsed still 2 meals to go, both of these were Fish, chips and pea's.Then 1 meal came out, still no sign of the last missing dinner. I was beginning to lose my patience by now, yet another 5 minutes lapsed and the last meal came out of the kitchen. I have to say that by this time the first 3 people eating had just about finished, not an ideal thing for a little family gathering.Now we have eaten all Milton Keynes including here, and at no stretch of the imagination does it take in excess 15 minutes from serving the first 2 dinners, which were children's portions, to the last plate arriving. Sorry but that is just not good enough, what would they have done if a party of 8 arrived, I hate to think, he would probably still be cooking it.There were no apologies from the person serving the food, nothing saying there were issues in the kitchen, so not sure what the issue was.There was no check to see if anyone wanted any condiments, not even a how was your meal during the course of the meal. When we finished he never reappeared to clear the dirty plates, or ask if anyone wanted desserts, not good customer service.When I ate here before all the food came out together as it should when a group eats, and the quality was pretty good. What has happened here I don't know, is it new staff, are the regular's on Holiday. There definitely needs to be some extensive training done in not only how to cook multiple food orders, but also on customer service and politeness. I would hope the team who normally cooks/prepares the food here make a speedy return, as there are a few issues to sort out.

It started out bad when I thought the "Old Speckled Hen" was handed to me looking cloudyI waited until it settled(a bit) then had a quick smell/taste!! It wasn't good so exchanged it for an IPA!! It was up to scratch & I enjoyed.We ordered some food, wifey had Cajun pasta & chicken strips with JD bar-b-q sauce while I had chicken wings with reg. bar-b-q sauce.All was very good & no complaints.Then, to the second round of drinks!!Wifey wanted a bottle of white wine and I asked again(almost an hour after 1st!!) if the O.S.H. was ok now? It wasn't as the barrel hadn't been changed, so once again I gave it back & got a I.P.A.!! It was up to standard that one expects.The pub is retro 80's, decor but it is clean & well looked after and we had no complaints.Would recommend to all as it's a local and Green King pub, so just what you want.

Oustanding hostelry!Good beer, Good food, Good staff and a great place to meet old friends and make new ones.The Landlady, Hollie, is a wonderful lady as are her staff of Sean, Chantelle, Sam, Kirsty, Keyliegh and Jim.Nothing is too much bother for them and you will be treated with respect and due diligence.With seating outside to the side and front of the Pub, it is an ideal place to spend a quiet summers eveningwatching the sunset over Oldbrook Green.Highly recommended !!

What a lovely pub, staff were welcoming. Hollie the manager is lovely and makes you laugh. Great value for money.

Good value for money, food was really good. Definitely would go back! Service was quick considering how busy it was, nothing was too much trouble

This place is good for pub food lovers as the meals they offer are quite good. Unfortunately they haven’t got decent selection of ciders, but that’s my personal taste and it should be taken into account only by those who prefer ciders to beers. The interior is cozy though carpets and tables could be a little cleaner. Overall I liked the place and would’ve given it the “very good” rate if my fork&knife hadn’t been put on a table’s surface bare (no tissues, no anything - they just put it upon not ideally clean table). Fortunately I didn’t require cutlery for the meal I ordered, but this way of serving is not the one you expect to have in any place offering food.

We've been here before and the food was decent,as we were near by we wanted a quick lunch as we had a busy afternoon ahead,the pub was busy with drinkers watching the football we ordered our drinks from the pleasant bar staff then our food,then waited 40 minutes before i asked how much longer our food would be,i was told 5 minutes after our food did not appear we decided to leave as we were being refunded our food was brought out this was exactly 1 hour after ordering won't be returning

We have been here a couple of times now and have enjoyed the pub we haven't eaten yet but are going to try it. But I must say the barstaff are very friendly and as we were new customers they remembered our order the outside seating is lovely and the pub is very clean .it's worth a visit well done .

More of a pub than a restaurant but food is decent for the price you pay. Good option If we have no food in the house

What a shambles tonight was we went there to see the new year in was told they dont open till 8.30 pm in a hour from when we turned up then as we walked away was told its tickets only tonight. Its my local pub for drinking was in there 3 nights this week and was never owt ..managment is rubbish today mind you its not been good for a while...

Can be hit and miss on both food and drink but as you say you get what you pay for. Cheap and cheerful. To be fair never actually had a bad quality meal although service behind he bar can let it down sometimes

A great place very nice staff clean place for family and any one else who enjoys a good pint and really great food at very good prices to boot...

My sister in law and my niece came down from Birmingham took them for a meal my niece had steak and sent it back it was tough they had no milk for tea my sister in law is gluten free and wheat free nothing really for her

Have been several times with family and friends good service and food,nice decor just been refurbished ,going with my mother next week if she likes it then it is good.

We have visited several times to have lunch with friends and found it a very pleasant experience. The food is well cooked and presented and a good price. The staff are efficient and friendly. We will no doubt be returning.

Was Saturday late afternoon my sons 16th birthday. Was busy but the staff very nice and we ordered 3 steaks. They cooked them just wright. Can't believe the price. So cheep but what quality and plenty. I will definitely be going back
