Great place to watch sport, lots of tvs and the staff were super friendly

I came here for lunch after not coming in for food for a while and what an improvement! Great value, great service and great food, will most certainly be coming back with a group!

Myself, my wife and my Son (aged 12) visited here on Saturday 6th of July. We were camping locally, my son wanted to watch the football. I pre booked a table for 1 hour before kick off. The table was kept in reserve as promised (it cost me £10 for the privilege) I went to the bar 3 times, twice for drinks and once to order food. Each time I waited 25 minutes to be served. They had no draught IPAs about 4 or 5 were sold out, even before the football. The food was not great and they struggled to find me any cutlery or condiments. The pub was full of flies and was really hot inside. The staff refused to open the door or turn on the air conditioning. Really bad pub, best avoided.

Fairly quite when we went in but saying that it was mid week, nice pub plenty of TVs for the sport not to badly priced. We didn't eat but the food look good.

Parked at rear of pub oin carpark little walk to front and was welcomed by smiling bar staff, Ordered drinks at bar and sat down at table and drinks were delivered quickly. The meal was lovely pictures to follow. The deal was 2 mains for £14.49 in this day and age that is brilliant. We will be returning

We think it was short staffed, but the staff that were there were busy, but always polite and cheerful. The atmosphere was excellent , and the food was tasty. Very enjoyable

We were going to stop here for drinks but after visiting the toilets which were dirty and smelt awful decided to give it a miss!

This is our 2nd time coming to The Cricketers. We came across it while we were waiting for our son to finish his studio time at ME8 studios as we come from Dartford. As soon as we walked in, we ordered a drink and met Eden behind the bar. She was friendly and welcoming right from the start. She's great. On our 2nd time, we came for 2 hours and thought we would have a bite to eat. Thats where we met CJ. Eden was also here. We were here for 2 hours, again while waiting for our son to finish his studio time. We had a great laugh with CJ and the pair did not stop from the time we arrived till the time we left. We will def be back and hope that they are both here when we do. Aleays have a smile on their face.

Very friendly staff and great service from both CJ & Eden :) Its a great place to go to if you just wanna go for a drink or a quick bite to wat, food and service is amazing and i would definitely recommend going there.

Such an amazing pub. We attend fairly regularly for their Monday night quiz. The staff are fantastic, and even remember our drink order. Their food is really lovely too.

We ordered a chicken burger because there was little else to choose from as they had problems in the kitchen. That wasnt a problem but the food was rubbish. Chips were cold and piled with sea salt. The burger roll was hard, very little salad filling or mayonaise. We needed to eat as we were going somewhere later but I left nearly the whole meal. I would not return.

Spacious, great sound system but also lovely for family food and get togethers.. Popped in again. Great place to sit and chill in the evening. Loads of room and Calm friendly staff.

Overall experience wasn’t great! Not very professional at all! Staff really do not care or even make it seem like they care! Went in on the weekend for a few drinks and bit of food with my family. I will take into account that it was the lead up before Christmas, knowing it is a very busy period and it was fairly busy in cricketers, however this doesn’t excuse the rudeness of staff members! I believe the staff member I encountered was Nathan. Anything I asked him for looked like I was troubling him sighing constantly like I was making him go out of his way to get me something! Felt super uncomfortable in this situation. When talking to him I would compare it to a brick wall. No smiling the most emotionless face I’ve ever seen. Shouldn’t be in the retail industry if you ask myself. We ordered 2 separate orders for my table and they forgot about a whole order to even bring it to our table. So only half of us was eating and waiting 15-20mins for the rest. Luckily a young man came over believe his name was Reece came in looked abit stressed but seen to us immediately apologising for the disorganisation and sorted us out pronto was extremely happy with his service we got our food and deserts pretty quick after that and experience was flowing a lot more smoothly! If i we were to deal with Reece from the start I expect we would’ve had zero problems.

Great atmosphere today for the six nations and premier league games, plenty of TVs so you can watch it wherever you are. food is always great. Staff are always helpful

Popped down to the Cricketers to see an old friend, and was extremely impressed to see how the new pub manager has turned the place around compared to my last visit years ago. Great to see a pub in Taunton doing well.

Shocking! We walking in after having a few drinks and food at the Greedy Banker across the road. We ordered drinks at the bar, one non alcoholic and found a table. Next minute one of the guys we were with was being dragged outside based on an accusation of dilated pupils. Nonsense! A night with out the children quickly ruined! The bouncers knew they had mucked up. Avoid!!!!

Visited this pub today for the first time with my Mum, Sister and Niece's for lunch. Was taken back with just how big it is inside and so beautifully presented. The weather was rubbish today so dark and grey looking so it was really lovely to walk into a beautifully dressed Christmas ready pub. I believe Ellis served us today with our food and drinks and he was so lovely and funny, cooked my Mum and Sisters fish to absolute perfection. There was a lady there too that was lovely but didn't manage to grab her name. We will certainly be coming back! Loved the little extra touches the pub had with the doggy station and blankets for guests in the garden area. I didn't have my dogs with me today but knowing there is beds and treats here for them makes me want to return.

I came here yesterday with a few of my friends. The atmosphere and the staff were all amazing and made us all feel welcomed! They had a laugh and a joke with us all customer service was excellent and the food was great! Definitely would recommend this place! If you're looking for an alternative to Wetherspoons, this is it. Excellent prices for food and good selection of drinks including several on tap. Friendly staff and there is an app to order at your table.

Really good food at reasonable prices and lots to choose from. If you're lucky enough to be served by CJ, he goes above and beyond his role and really looks after all the customers, going that extra mile. If you want a quiet meal, go midweek, weekends are loud and no glass policy after 9! Also, they stop serving food at 9 so get your deserts and coffee in early! Would definately recommend.

Called in on the 14/10/23 though from the outside I thoight it looked like a star wars bar , oh how wrong I was , very very surprised when I entered , I didn't have anything to eat , but the food looked great , the rugby was on the TV and they were huge , had a great vist , will I return deffo a yes in the future

Came in with family and had something to eat , i had the mac and cheese and it was amazing, would definitely recommend and will be coming back again , the young girl who served me was called Lou - great customer service and always had a smile on her face. All staff were very friendly and helpful, Jacob and C.J were working at the time I came in, even though I asked alot of questions, they didn't mind. Food was amazing and huge portions, very good value for money. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. As a wheelchair user I find it difficult to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, this place did.

Seven of us went for lunch after a long walk. All of us chose the Sunday roasts - turkey, beef served pink, or a combination of the two. The two orders for combinations got ordered as 2 beef and 2 turkey. Eventually the chap taking the order worked out how to cancel and re-order. The refund wasn't enough, but I didn't have the patience to pursue it, and eventually the surplus beef arrived as well as the duos. At that point the serving staff got involved in correcting the mistake. Sadly, all the beef was far from pink. One serving would have been acceptable as a replacement piece of shoe leather; none were good and all were full of gristle. The vegetables were either overcooked or undercooked (the peas were like bullets) On calling for the manager, she immediately refunded the cost of all the meals - the only bit of the Cricketers performance that deserves any praise.

Myself and my Husband wouldn't normally of gone out our way to go the Rainham for a drink, but we followed the landlady there. Lyndsay and her staff are very welcoming the pub is always clean, staff are polite and helpful. Food is always hot and lovely. I can honestly say its lyndsay and her staff that make your visit enjoyable and leave you wanting to go back. We will follow this lady anywhere what she can do with a pub is amazing.

Our old local has closed so we came here for lunch to try it out. First of all, spotlessly clean everywhere. The food was very quick to arrive and tasted fantastic. The staff are very friendly especially Lyndsay the manager who we knew from our old local. All in all a brilliant place to eat or drink and we will be back without fail (probably next Friday if I’m honest!)

Went on a Thursday. One serving but he was really nice. Took ages for food to come, we had to remind him . Spicy burger had no spice all day breakfast was really tasty but looked like a road crash. Couldn't cut the toast with a knife it was so hard.

Had a great time watching the game today, burger was great and tasty. Staff exceptionally friendly. Came back again and as usual, great service and sports atmosphere. Football is back and they have new big screens so even better now! Staff still amazing and still the best pub food around.
