I’ve been coming here for many years, since it was painted yellow outside even. I’ve always come here with my family and enjoyed the milkshakes and food I’ve had. Everyone that works here has always been friendly and lovely. I remember as a kid being given a lolly when we had finished eating and were on the way out. Thank you all.

Hi I wanted to share my recent experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, I encountered a very aggressive service from the guy short hair in front . It felt like he doesn’t care about my order at all. On top of that, the food I received was served cold and had a horrible taste. I was really disappointed with the overall experience. I hope you can address these issues to ensure a better dining experience for your customers. Thank you.

Hello, I am new in the area been looking for a place to buy my take away food I been googling many place which is come back with a very good review so I went there and having my first order Firstly food wasn’t what I been expecting it was tasting like juts warm up in microwave, Secondly there is a guy which he was very rude I was explaining my self about the food and he just says he don’t care you can go somewhere else bye bye, So I don’t know it’s just me or someone else had same experience! Wouldn’t go back Avoid this place

If I was able to give a zero star you would get it probably, food cold , customer service was really bad there was a guy I don’t know his name but short little fella with a grey hair been very rude and racist , try to avoid this place as much as u can

Here at 8.30 wednesday morning. No crowds as expected. Very polite and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices and the meals were excellent. Toilets available. The only problem is it's cash only but many cafes are nowadays. There is a cash machine opposite the cafe, so everyone happy. I highly recommend Rest Awhile.

The food is ok , But the only thing I can say , Is that the table for two are to small as you are pushing against the wall , And have trouble with eating properly

I went here today and I enjoyed what I had . I also enjoyed half of my wife's very friendly staff and the cafe being there for over 30 years I left it to long to try it .I won't bother with Morrison's cafe no more.

Other than paying by cash the food was excellent and the service was good it was very good

Turkish owned greasy spoon which does what it says on the tin. Typical fare: egg, bacon, beans, fries, mushrooms, sausage, black pudding, two slice bread, tea, change from £10.00. Every mouthful tasty. Sometimes a decent cheese qtr pounder with salad and fries for a fiver.. Not artisinal in any way, shape or form but it most definitely fills the gap if 3 or 4 want to get a decent, standard brunch.

Myself, a pensioner, and my daughter went for lunch today. The 2 of us ordered Scampi. Came out rock solid and over cooked. We Politely asked for one of them to be replaced. Waitress was polite and took it back to the chef. The chef bought out a new portion which looked completely different to the first. He began making nasty comments about us ‘moaning’; leant across the table and got very close our faces in an intimidating manor. When we went to pay, after feeling very uncomfortable and mentioned it to the lady at the till. She then became incredibly rude, raising her voice at us both when we had been very polite. Then the chef came back and started raising his voice at us too. The lady then told me to leave and that I was banned from the cafe. I have been going there for many years and am very upset but this experience.

when i visit there first time we pay by card all staff was well behaved and i liked the service over there. but on my next visit there was a lady she told me you can't pay by card under £10 then on my last visit over there was a lady she was behaved rude and told me we accepted cash not card and that was more than£10 fortunately i got cash i was very disappointed with last experience..

Sorry was terrible, gone down hill. Cheep sausages, terrible bacon, and the ketchup a disaster so vinegary. Sadly we never come as go to brothers. But they were shut. This place could have got new customers. But not with good like that.

Food is hearty and tasty, and service is very friendly and warm. The cafe is spotlessly clean. Having to pay cash could be a problem for some people.

Had the full english, with Bacon, Sausage, beans, mushrooms and a fried slice. A few hours later I had food poisoning from it. Busy and packed, tables aren't big enough. Would definitely not recommend to anyone. Stay clear!!

I like visiting Rest A While as i really enjoy there food, as i live on my own I like to go and have my Sunday Lunch there. Every time i have been the food has always been beautiful. I have missed it not being open so will visit this weekend to get my very missed Roast Lamb lunch.

Service is good and overall the food is lovely apart from the sausages. They taste rotton. Id happily pay more for the breakfast to have decent sausages. Please get better sausages😁

Zojuist daar geweest voor een ontbijtje en wat voor een! Nog nooit zo lekker ontbeten. De bacon was hemels en de eieren ook. Heerlijke tin tomatoes. Super vriendelijke bediening en een schoon restaurant. En dan die mega lage prijzen. Echt een verborgen juweeltje.

There isn't really many places to get breakfast or lunch in Strood but out of the few places that there are this is defintely the best :)! It serves well cooked, reliable cafe food such as cooked breakfasts (not greasy and the eggs are always runny), jacket potatoes (which I still haven't tried), salads and hot meals. The people working there/the owners are very friendly and they always remember us despite us not going there too often. I highly recommend this lovely little cafe if you're looking for a nice place to eat.

A good traditional cafe. Always a very friendly welcome and food is great, always have to have a full English breakfast here! Perfectly cooked, not too fatty but full of flavour.

dont be put off by the title. After ww2 greasy spoons abounded in London. Then along came the settled italian POWs and put a whole new and delicious meaning to british cafe grub. They still do to this day, so be prepared to be surprised at the quality and price. Solid lunch for £5 Its a little oasis of calm and civility

A must visit cafe with friendly speedy service, a wide range of meals and non alcaholic drinks and a very clean environment. The food is cooked to perfection every time and the staff accomidate your wishes. A relaxing atmosphere and very reasonable prices.

Occasionally stop here for a breakfast. Good service, fair prices, a varied selection and nice staff. The tables are a tad cramped though.

I do enjoy meals here but really wanted lamb for my sunday lunch and none left so opted for chicken which was just sandwich slices not of a chicken

Always lovely, friendly staff, local friendly family business owner. Honest and honestly priced. Clean, quick and convenient. Be careful when you park in the local car parks, the large car park where B&Q used to be, now give penalty notices for people who stay too long or leave the businesses around the car park. The 'Aldi' car park is a local business car park, so should be fine.

We have been here quite a few times. Great place. Family run. Staff friendly and there is always a cheery 'hello. Food is good. Just normal stuff. Always hot and tasty. They are happy if you want to change your order to suit yourself. Prices are good. No arty farty coffees just a really nice milky coffee and a good old cuppa :-) Will deff be going back many times

Family run cafe, very friendly and accommodating, my son only wanted 1 egg, chips, cucumber and a slice of bread and although not on the menu it was no problem. They also do a lovely milky coffee, not a latte just a plain old fashioned all milk coffee.

We always visit here for breakfast as a treat most weekends! The kids love to eat there too and the staff are very friendly and make a fuss of the kids. Food is tasty and always spot on. Very clean cafe.

Hot drinks were really nice but we had an egg and bacon roll which was small, hard egg and the bacon was cheap . The small roll was a bit burnt also but some of the other food such as the meals looked ok. Overall ok

We went into Rest a While for Sunday Lunch whilst shopping on Sunday. The roast was great value for money, we both had Roast Lamb with Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding and three vegetables. I was delighted to find that they served cabbage with the dinner as well as peas and carrots. The carrots were of the tinned variety, but that did not deter from making this a very tasty meal. We had Cherry Pie and Ice cream for dessert which was delicious. Beats Morrison's hands down on quality and time taken to serve. Will definitely go there again.

Family run business who cook great British traditional meals with an all day breakfast that is well worth the money. Locals use this café whilst out shopping in Strood, a short walk across the bridge from the regular Rochester High Street events .

Great food, great prices, children welcome and a excellent service. A ride selection of foods even for me who's veggie.

Really nice food good portions not to much just the right amount and they ask if you want toast or bread with breakfasts unlike many restaurants!! Would like to add that this is one of the better cafes in Strood we have visited others but this is by far the best

I normally visit this cafe every fortnight when visiting family in Strood. Just your normal, everyday, working class caff, nothing fancy, no frills or anything. Just good, well cooked food. The staff/owners are always incredibly friendly, polite, and respectful, they really make you feel welcome. Very family friendly, good with the kids (free lollipop when they leave lol)I always see other regulars in there too, which is always a good sign :)

This is an unassuming quiet little cafe you might easily pass by, but stop and take in one of their midday specials for a fiver and have some real Italian coffee. Its very clean and a bit bee bop in decor. Just a nice little place to stop for a while

We go to this cafe regularly because the staff are wonderful and the food is cooked in front of you, to order and is plentiful, fresh and quick. All in all a great cafe!

One of my favourite places to go. Been going there since I was a child. Nice food, typical cafe food, not the healthiest food but what do you expect when you order a fry up! They have healthier alternatives that people can choose which are more healthy. I usually have the mixed grill which isnt a proper mixed grill as doesn't have steak but is still lovely with the lamb chop. The staff are friendly and are always asking if the food was nice. When leaving you always getna friendly goodbye. I remember years ago the service was no where near as friendly but they have improved massively over the years.

A horrible greasy spoon. Bright white lights, static four chairs to a table tables in rows, and the usual deep fried horror fare. Avoid, unless this is your standard diet and you want a heart attack and a headache.
