There wasn't many options when we were there for lunch but we got battered scallops and chips, scallop and black pudding roll and some sandwiches. All really tasty and cooked fresh in front of you. The staff are really friendly.Located really well beside the Iona port. There are only two picnic benches but wasn't an issue for us, was really hot so we just ate in the car :)

The Creel Seafood Bar is only a small hut selling food and drink through a hatch. It is positioned close to the entry/exit to the ferry and overlooking Iona. The hot menu was unsurprising seafood based but they do also sell sandwiches and warm drinks. I chose the fish and chips for £10. They did taste really great. There is also a small seating area to the side of the seafood bar but if that’s full there are plenty of places to wander to nearby and enjoy your meal with a terrific view.

Had heard good reviews about the Creel and was looking forward to some seafood. Unfortunately, after visiting Iona and arriving back at the Creel at 1450, we were told that they had no seafood - not even fish and chips?. Staying near Fionnphort for a week we visited The Creel several times and found it a great asset. It was good to be able to buy fresh, tasty and quality seafood and sandwiches daily, at a reasonable price from friendly and cheery people. Made a long journey to sample the menu as had heard so much about it to be greeted with a pretty poor reduced menu. We had to ask what was still available as the menu board did not reflect was was actually available. We ordered and then upon reflection, and being told by the girl in the booth that she was operating with one fryer (apparently it wasn’t busy enough for 2 fryers despite a lengthy queue of people standing in the pouring rain) and on her own, we decided to cut our losses and get our money back. It was pretty evident that our food hadn’t even reached the fryer despite having stood for 15 minutes already. Terrible experience and terrible customer service.

Fidden Farm which has just the most stunning beach with white sand and clear turquoise water and The Creel Seafood Bar which does the most amazing Cullen Skink. When we arrived they had no haddock and consequently no soup!!! We returned the following day and fortunately haddock was abundant and two large cartons of Cullen were snapped up. We visited the Creel three times during our recent holiday to Mull, though it would have been more if the kids had their way! We had fish and chips, scampi and chips and battered scallops, all of which were delicious, and so good to get proper home made chips too with the skins on. We were lucky enough to have sunshine the first two visits, but the heavens opened for the last one. However even torrential rain and trying to fit five of us under a golf umbrella didn't spoil the food or experience. The cherry on the cake though is the fantastic young woman bagpiper who plays for the ferry arriving from Iona. All in all, a brilliant place, first class service and excellent food.

This place is unpretentious and genuine and I hope they never change(here's hoping a celebrity chef is not reading this review to research yet another telly food programme). This small hut at the Iona ferry port at Pionnphort sells a great range of fresh island seafood, but it's home made Cullen skink soup is just sublime. £6 for a large cup and crusty roll, rich, creamy and absolutely delicious smoked haddock, potato and shredded leek, it's a meal in itself and well worth the 60 mile journey from Tobermory!! Well the soup and the local scenery. The staff are friendly and helpful, knowledgeable about their produce and proud of its freshness and locality.Absolutely stunning. We are planning to return in September for more!

We returned from an early bird Staffa Tour and were really really hungry - grabbed a seafood platter and some extra squat lobsters and made a make a makeshift table and bench with fish boxes on the slipway - bliss both in culinary and ambiance terms! We eat a lot of seafood so recognise good and fresh one and what was on offer at The Creel Seafood Bar was definitely both!

Lovely staff, helpful and able to recommend things for us to try. Superbly fresh seafood, I tried the scallops with black pudding and a portion of Cullen skink - the latter very nearly as good as my mum's! Some picnic benches to sit at to eat your food. Kippers are divine too I'm told.

Firstly this place is superbly well situated to serve the busy pier and coach loads of tourists and pilgrims heading to/from Iona and Staffa. They have a captive market as there's really nothing else nearby for decent food and that lack of competition may be the reason why it is a little pricey for what is only a takeaway hut. However, they are providing a great service in a remote spot and the ladies who run it are lovely so on balance pricing is not a major issue.Secondly, and most importantly, the food is good, fresh and well cooked. Over a few days in the area we had cullen skink, fish and chips and a variety of seafood sandwiches and rolls. As usual I wish there had been more time and opportunity to be more adventurous. The little decking area with a few tables is a pleasant place to sit, eat and watch the world pass by if the weather is clement. Overall a certain asset to this remote corner of Mull.
