Excellent Sunday lunch beef roast with all the trimmings. Meal was freshly cooked, delicious and very filling. Staff were attentive and friendly. Good atmosphere.

We came here for a get together as we had heard good things about this establishment . We were not disappointed. Beautiful location, myst be lovely in the summer. The staff are professional and attentive. We ordered Sunday roasts and chose the beef rib option. What a great choice. Cooked to perfection, literally one taste sensation after the other. Followed by the chocolate torte, again, simply amazing. I definitely recommend visiting here .

From the moment we walked in for our lunch with friends we were made to feel very welcome. Our host (Naomi? sorry but I am terrible at remembering names) was exceedingly friendly and cheerful but not at all pushy and happy to engage and give her recommendations. The food was fresh, well presented and very tasty. Overall, good value (there are less expensive places to eat), good food, a good atmosphere and somewhere we would not hesitate to visit again or recommend to others.

Despite being the end of June, outside tables weren't in operation. We waited an age for food and when it arrived it was un fresh, as though it was cooked the previous week and left under a halogen to warm it through. Awful appearance on plate, unfresh and a diabolical attitude to food and service by a lazy manager who didn't bother to rectify any aspect of the experience.

Short version sum up in 3 words: disappointing, disappointing and disappointing 2 stars as it looks nice and the staff were pleasant if not particularly pro-active. Long version: I wasn’t going to review our experience, I spent enough time organising it, but the more I thought about it, the more annoyed it has made me and I do feel that I need to share this. So, why disappointing? Disappointment 1: it’s always a disappointment when the culinary offering is below expectation. The food was poor. Presentation was slapdash and lazy. Not only did most of it look unappetising, it was poorly cooked, dry and not hot enough. Some of the ingredients were missing and the dishes were not as described. Two of our group sent their inedible sandwiches back, and had to take the replacements away in a box due to running out of time. To be honest, I’ve had better presented (and tastier) meals from a roadside burger van. Disappointment 2: I booked The Creek back in November for this date in February, for our WI lunch club. I provided a pre-order (for 10) by email a week in advance, phoned 2 days ahead to make sure they had read the email, and arrived well in advance of our 12:30 booking to ensure that everything was in order. There was therefore no excuse for not giving this group of discerning ladies a first-class experience. Instead, it was embarrassing for me as the group organiser, and uncomfortable for the staff to have to deal with our issues. What should have been a well-organised, jolly and relaxing lunch turned out to be anything but. To be fair, the manager took on board our complaints, and did not charge for the 2 replaced meals. Disappointment 3: We lunched here hoping to take away positive reviews and spread the word that The Creek is a lovely place to enjoy a meal. The Creek certainly looks the part, with tasteful décor, comfortable chairs, and a pleasant ambience. Sadly, we can only go away and report to the other 90 members of our WI, not to mention all our other friends, and Trip Advisor, that it really isn’t up to scratch. Such a shame. Moving forward: There is a woeful lack of smart eateries in Gosport, particularly those with a seafront aspect. We want this venue to succeed. Gosport needs this venue to succeed. However, it will only succeed if you invest in an experienced chef who knows how to compile a coherent and cohesive menu, cooked to perfection. Nothing inferior should be allowed across the pass – unlike today. Anything less will lead to yet another failure, as more groups like ours will be let down and will take our custom elsewhere. So disappointing.

It was my birthday so thought we’d go for Moules Frites for lunch. We have only been here once before when it opened and thought it was okay at the time. We were waited on very quickly and brought our drinks. Our food was a little longer but nothing to complain about. However, there was no ‘warm bread’ served with the mussels and chips, as per the menu, which I had to ask for. I am not certain the waiter and waitress knew it was actually part of the dish! Anyway it was brought out swiftly. Once I asked. I was very disappointed with the size of the portion of mussels which was more like a starter than main course and for £22 a ridiculous price. Also the marinière sauce was tasteless which is extremely surprising. I don’t think I’ve ever had a tasteless marinière sauce, ever! The chips, however, were wonderful. I don’t think we’ll be returning which is a great shame as this restaurant could be exceptional especially with its idyllic location!

Great small plates/starters. All cooked fresh. Delicious in fact. However the mains weren’t great at all. Will definitely stick to small plates/tapas in future. Service was excellent.

Visited twice now. Jan 2023 and Late August 2023. Not impressed either time. Food very average, but pricey. Beer- all gas, no Ales. No hearty food for the many sailors in their boats- so it is difficult to see who this new restaurant is catering for. Terrace has no shade in the sun. Very hot and not pleasant on a sunny day. Staff use one of the tables in the restaurant for their own rest time/ office work- v poor image and discourages people from using the tables beyond that table- so in effect takes out 2/4 of the restaurant. Who’s clever idea was that? This is such a waisted opportunity. The previous place in same area was much better. Boatfolk - need to do better than this .

Beautiful location and premises, food and drink. However, there is no welcome on arrival and slow unhappy staff. .Very long wait for food, almost an hour, by which time drinks are finished and a very miserable and curt answer to my request for water. We really need this level of quality in Gosport but you will lose attendees unless your serviceand speed massivly improve!

Our second visit after an iffy first but thought we would try it again as we like decor and outside area. First visit, our breakfast was served 10 mins before the drinks arrived (which we had ordered first). This visit, our drinks arrived first but had to ask 3 times for water. After 40 mins we were still waiting for our breakfast (it was not busy) and had to go and ask someone. I ordered eggs Benedict which menu said was Hampshire ham… it was bacon! Staff seemed very thin on the ground and obviously didn’t take in what customers were asking for - a group nearby saw that we needed to chase our order and said they had similar issues with waiting on stuff. Needless to say we will not being going back a third time.

Another visit to The Creek, thought we would give it another go. Arrived and seated by 1320. Waitress brought water and asked what we would like to drink. Told us they had very few white wines as delivery hadn't turned up. Ordered drinks and then food. 2 of the party ordered sea bream, 10 minutes later came back said they had run out. Then waited 45 minutes for our starters. Portions seem to be small, for the price. Waited a further 20 minutes for main course, these did not arrive at the same time. All in all very disappointing, I felt sorry for the Waitress as she had to keep apologising.

We booked a table for two on a Friday. Service was not good but the waitress was new so we made allowances. First two choices from the menu we were then told were off. Informed fish and chips was the ‘fish of the day’ so we both settled for that. Our meals were inedible, must have been sitting under heat lamps for ages. We complained and said we would pay for olives and wine but not fish and chips( which we couldn’t eat). After consultation this was agreed. We will not go back.

It was our first visit to The Creek last night, and what a lovely evening we had. It was easy to book on line earlier in the day, which I would recommend as it did get busy even on a Wednesday evening. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and shown to our table, we could have sat outside but decided it was a little chilly. Our table was by a window so still got a fabulous view of the marina. Our delightful waitress was Mia, she was very friendly, warm and professional, which definitely added to our evening. It was a pretty straightforward tasty menu with some specials too, I had a salad to start, fresh breads with some scrummy butters and a delicious tapenade, followed by a crab and prawn risotto. All presented well and tasted wonderful. We will definitely be visiting again -

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Creek which persuaded us that it was the place to go for the last evening of our holiday and we weren't disappointed.. Lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Anniversary lunch today the 30th of April. So booked for 1230. On arrival the restaurant wasn't busy. Shown to table and asked if we would like a jug of water and given our menus. No water arrived, had to ask for it. Waiter arrived for food and drinks order. Did not know catch of the day, had to go away and ask, reported back, but didn't know what sauce, sides it was served with, so had to go away again and ask . So The Creek , team brief is essential before your guests arrive, it's a quick win. My starter was wrong, but quickly rectified. The main course of sea bass and lamb were superb and credit where it's due. Get the little things right and all will be very good. Also although opposite a marina, this is Gosport and pricing should reflect the fact not everyone owns a yacht!
