Great selection of drinks, tasters of beers offered with out asking and then you can buy in 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, Pint or 2L. Great way to allow you to try several different beers. Excellent bar staff advising on what to try. Then drinks other than beer, Gins and Rum galore to chose from. Food was really good, good menu and Tuesday is 2for1 on amazing pizzas so we had to try 2 of those. Selection, atmosphere and especially staff really makes it really worth a visit.

What a great find the beer was top notch and the atmosphere was lovely. We sat relaxed and played boardgames with my little girl. The food looked great (sadly we had other plans) the barman (didn't grab his name but he was Coventry) was really friendly and informative would definitely recommend a visit.

Great place for breakfast. The barman informed us that the sausages (not to be confused with hostages), come from an artisan butcher in Stratford on Avon. The whole of the breakfast was top quality, which was especially true of the sausages, which were very meaty and full of flavour. We both had a latte, which was very nice but could have been a little hotter. We were passing by during a heavy rain storm later in the day, having finished our business in the town and were offered shelter from the rain by a very helpful young man. We decided to do just that and took advantage of the pastries to go with our tea and coffee, before our return journey to Windsor. I would definitely recommend the tea, especially if like me, you enjoy three large mugs of tea from a single teapot. Spot on, I’d recommend the blueberry slice and tiffin, both were top quality and tasted homemade. Last of all , I’d like to extend a big thank you to the barman, sorry I didn’t get his name, but we had a good bit of banter between us, making us feel like we were regulars, which we may be going forwards, visiting our son who is due to move to Warwick shortly.

They were kind enough to let us hire out their venue for our engagement party and it did not disappoint. Couldn’t do enough for us before hand and had thought and helped us with all things. The staff on the night, in particular Chris, Harvey and Noah were absolutely brilliant and added to the atmosphere, making it a really great party. Couldn’t recommend enough for any private function, was truly brilliant, thank you!

Easily the best craft beer bar in the Warwick and Leamington area. There are 16 lines of excellent craft beer from the UK, Europe and the USA. The bar is owned and run by a lovely family who live in the town. There is also a great ‘beer food’ menu that compliments the craft beer offering perfectly. Visited this bar many times and always had a great night.

You definitely come here not just for the food, but for the beer, and the selection of beer is amazing. Of course, it could be enhanced with new styles and options from different countries, but will that work for the bar itself? The kitchen closes too early, which is the biggest problem :) By the way, the coffee here is tasty. Google asked me to update my feedback, but it is still valid :)

Came here for a private function. It was my first time here so did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The place is awesome. From the decor to the vast range of drinks available. We were greeted by friendly staff who went above and beyond to make the whole night a great experience. I am unsure if the food was catered by the venue itself but it was by far the best buffet food I have had with a great selection of hot and cold food options. Mixed with a live singer and guitarist made this whole night one to remember. Would definitely recommend a visit here!

This place is a really underrated café and bar in Warwick! Been in a couple times and realised they offer an awesome offering for remote workers. My first time doing it but I can't recommend it enough, already. £10 gets you free coffees, teas and draught soft drinks for the duration of your stay which you work on their good WiFi. It allows you 10% food as well as providing the 11th visit free. The venue is very nicely finished and even the bathroom is amazing - greatly appreciate the feminine products and freshen-up knick-knacks available for guests (see the image). Everything is very tidy and clean. It's dog-friendly too. Last, but certainly not least, the staff are truly a delight to interact with. Everyone is incredibly friendly and more than ready to help or have a little chat. Thanks to all of the team and I will definitely be back again!

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime, having also booked there for a meal later in the evening. A good selection of craft beers.....at a price! We live in Hampshire so are used to inflated prices. We stayed for one drink and left. Turned up for our table booking to find 5 deep at the bar and a chaotic scene. We had a table booking, were we supposed to queue up at a heaving bar? I asked a member of staff which table we had booked and was shown to a table for two, right in the middle surrounded by noise. No menus on the table! I had asked about table service: none....you have to queue at the 5 deep bar! I had booked a table for gods sake, I don't expect to have to queue! We left. Too disorganised noisy and chaotic for us. Found a lovely quiet Indian place down the road instead. Note to the owners of The Craftsman; if taking table bookings for the evenings, at least provide a proper system of dealing with people who have booked tables and provide them with table service, which would surely take the strain off your busy bar. We can't be the only customers who have left frustrated with your set up on a busy evening. Plus your prices for craft beers are frankly ridiculous.....

A really great selection of beers but in recent times it's getting very expensive. A nice place for a special occasion but it's difficult to justify the extra price per pint. Used to be a favourite but we now go elsewhere. I have read the reply from the owner but I do not think this is enough to justify a 21.95 pint cost.

Booked weeks in advance for a group for brunch. When arrived no space saved so we were just put on the only table left with other people already seated. Not told how to order, went up to bar to order. Staff very stressed and ignoring customers. When eventually served they said the kitchen was overwhelmed and they couldnt do breakfasts…. No apologies or understanding about the fact we had made an advanced booking so we just left. Staff also appeared to be struggling to find clean crockery and using dirty stuff that seemed clean :/ Avoid.

I stopped in Warwick on my way home from kidderminster hoping to see the castle but was turned away because they don't allow dogs so I came to the craftsman for lunch and it turned out to be the highlight of an otherwise disappointing visit to Warwick, unlike the castle they did let my dog in and were very friendly, the place was nicely decorated and very comfortable and the firecracker chicken toastie was really good, served with probably the nicest fries I have ever had. Lovely place and very friendly, great selection of drinks but the food is hit and miss. Eggs Benedict was lovely and great value, but Sunday lunch we paid £43 for two people was really poor. The portion size looked impressive, and half of the plate was nice, but other parts of the meal were inedible. We're pretty certain the vegetables are from frozen as they're all just mush, and the cauliflower cheese was mushed up cauliflower with melted cheese on top, cold underneath. We didn't really touch it. Surprised when we gave them the feedback that they were convinced the quality was good, even though we saw other plates being left filled with mushed up veg. I think they need to take the food more seriously if they're going to compete with other great pubs in Warwick and Leamington. E.g. the quality of Sunday lunches at places like the Pug pubs, The Falcon and The Rose And Crown are on a different level. Portions may be smaller, but the whole plate is cooked fresh which is not the case here unfortunately.

I am a real ale lover, so this review is based on that. I went here expecting a decent pint, and that is subjective to my taste, but I wasn't impressed I'm afraid. It's all keg beers (on tap) and I found one that was alright, but the costs I found quite high. Over £6 for 2/3 pint, the stout was £16 for a pint! My partner likes Sauv Blanc, and wasn't impressed for the cost either. So we only stayed a short while before moving on. Unfortunately it's not a place for us based on its current offering.

Having lived in London for many years with no shortage of taprooms, bottle shops and breweries within any given radius, we missed this moving back home to the Warwick area. The Craftsman singlehandedly provides all of the above! Best beer selection in the area by a large margin both on draft in the very well stocked fridges. We went for a family Sunday lunch which was really enjoyable. A couple of slightly cold veggie options (very minor thing!) didn't hamper the experience at all and we wouldn't hesitate to go back. Proper home-style cooking. Service is also good, friendly staff and a really nicely styled interior that doesn't feel tacky or try-hard. Highly recommended and I hope they do very well, we need more places like this!

TLDR: Nice atmosphere, quality & eclectic beers, great tasting food. I didn't know anything about this bar before walking past it and dropped in for a coffee as well as to check out the craft beer menu (16 varied beers from high-quality breweries, plus a set of large, well stocked fridges). Cappuccino was generously sized and smooth. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable when I asked a few questions about the kitchen and general opening times. After a day at the castle we dropped in again just before 5pm, the place was busy and lively with most tables filled, a great atmosphere. Ordered some of the draft beers as well as a chorizo pizza and the beef burger to share. Pizza: crisp base and crust, fresh tasting sauce and spicy kick from the chorizo Burger: thick patty, great taste, fresh toppings. Fries: excellent, well seasoned. If I lived in Warwick, I would be in this place all the time. Relaxed and comfortable seating and table arrangements, a good mix of people from vary age groups, dog and child friendly.

Great selection of craft beers at prices that won't upset you. The best in town! It was great to see Left Hand Giant on tap; a Bristol brewery that I haven't seen available anywhere else other than Bristol. These guys know what they're doing when it comes to beer. The wine list is also extensive for those who don't enjoy the froth. The food needs some work though. I ordered the wings with chips. Despite the description on the menu, it was simply chicken wings and chips - no salad etc. My food came well before my friend's which was slightly inconvenient but also the taste and texture of the wings was disappointing. They were quite soggy (not sure if that is the right word but I had to peel off the skin as it was inedible). My friend's blue cheese burger was devoid of blue cheese which added to the sense of disappointment. I do think though that they will easily work out these food issues and I at least will continue to return for the awesome beer selection.

This place is always hit and miss. At weekends the teenagers work there and their attitude is awful. A long haired chap today decided to be very rude when he got the order wrong and the laughed. Such a shame as their other venue the pump rooms is much better environment and customer service.
