The Craft Beer Company in Brighton and Hove

I visited here by accident after the venue I was planning to go to was closed for a private event. Because of the name, I had assumed this place was just good for beer but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely, cosy pub. Yes, there is a great range of craft beer but there's also lots of other drinks on offer, and the food we ordered was lovely too (chips were particularly good, and staff were very also helpful with dietary requirements). There was a nice, friendly vibe here and would happily return again. Great size TV for football, too (there was a match on the night I visited but only a few people seemed to be watching).

Two Sunday lunches here recently, both beef and both delicious and a challenge to finish (I didn't!)... chunky slices of medium rare beef and super beers and wine to accompany. Best spuds I've had on a pub roast (rival my Mum's). Book but can turn up for a 'bar table' if there's 2 of you.

Went there for a birthday dinner celebration and had my 1st roast. It was a really tasty Lamb Roast I do recommend. The other dished looked tasty too. The w.c is tidy and clean. The staff are really nice and the music wasnt too loud. They even have a Betty Boop Doll. One thing I didn't liked: they didn't had chillies. ( I love my food w/ chillies).

The drinks were great, and the service we couldn't fault. However the Jukebox element was lacking a little, as we picked a couple of songs - a variety of different artists/genres but only heard 1 of our choices in the whole time we were there, but from another group, we had about 7 ABBA songs. Now, I do love a bit of ABBA but I think the experience would be better if there was a limit to how many times an artist can be used. It seemed that the table next to us, of about 6 people got all their choices, and felt like there was no actual 'Shuffle' function on the system. As slots were timed, we couldn't just choose to stay longer to hear our choices. We also found the music, which was supposed to be the big attraction, was at a really low level, and we couldn't hear them well over the general bar noises. In the end, our visit ended up a bit disappointing. I've visited pubs that have the 'jukebox from your phone' function just as an added extra who've managed it better.

You might expect a wanky sort of vibe from the name alone, but this place has a fantastic, genuine, old school 'pub' atmosphere coupled with some beautiful drinks and friendly, passionate staff.

One of the best spots in Brighton to sample various craft beers. They are always very keen on letting you taste a few beers before making your choice, no matter how busy the place is.

Staff is incredibly friendly, atmosphere is great. They also host a board gaming meetup every Wednesday which is excellent.

Still a fantastic pub with plenty of craft ales on tap, but there are too many extremely expensive ones, hardly any choice under £6 a pint, but at least it's not a restaurant and still more a pub, nice to see, very helpful barman with good knowledge on the ales.

Popped in before going to find some food, and it was a great place to be! Holly the manager really knew her beers. Two perfectly kept stouts took my fancy, but I’m hoping to visit again while I’m in Brighton. Check it out!

Ok selection. Lots of taps out. Was quiet. Not much craic. Grand spot but had better in Brighton.

Very nice pub and friendly staff, but be very careful when ordering beer over 5%, the prices go up exponentially, e.g. £9 for a 6% beer. Even London doesn’t charge much.

So disappointed to come to The Craft Brighton and be told they no longer have Lily"s beesting cider. Service.amazing as always, but draught cider selection has really gone downhill.😢

Great pub, great service, great staff, my normal place to drink when I visit from London, but no Bee sting any more :( Remember when you used to be cool and sold Bee sting and had a good cider selection. I vote bringing it back, including the bee sting.

Top beers, good range, drink in or take away

Called in early Sunday lunchtime, landlady was really helpful and friendly. The beer was well kept and a reasonable price. You do need to watch the beer prices, check the menu before rushing in, as some of the stronger specials are expensive. That apart, highly recommended.

Excellent pub, great range of craft beers with an amazing knowledgeable owner and staff. More than happy to give tasters so you can have the pint perfect. The atmosphere, beers and the staff makes this pub a cut above most others in Brighton.

We had a craft beer tasting session with holly. She was brilliant and knew her stuff. We had a lot of banter with her and a great laugh. Definitely recommend!

A very welcoming atmosphere with an impressive selection of ales. I had a pint of The Sussex Haze, a deliciously robust ale. Food is limited to snacks such as peanuts and crisps but plan around this and certainly don't let it put you off - this is a lovely place that deserves to survive in difficult times.

Had a really hearty drink in here and wow, it was expensive ! Enjoyed the visit, chap behind bar was very helpful, basic toilet facilities.

You can't miss it! One of the best selections available of craft beer on tap. Conscious of local projects, businesses, and supply chain. Nice location with a warm ambience. Very knowledgeable staff. You'll be back, for sure, to try what you couldn't taste before.

For lovers of beer who prefer something a little different then you couldn't find a better place.

Sam was amazing we had just finished an escape game nearby, popped in for a drink and same was so helpful with his service and suggestions for the different types of craft beers. Highly recommend!!!

I’d seen this place online before I arrived in Brighton and decided to search it out. I’m so glad that I did. It’s a really cool and friendly place with great choice of beers and amazing staff. Relaxed and welcoming with fabulous customer service from Sam. I came back every night of my stay, as a lone female it was a safe and fun place to spend a couple of hours relaxing. I stuck with the same beer, Schneider Weiss but overheard lots of great advice to other customers on what to have. Well worth a trip here if you’re in Brighton and I’ll most definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Came for a beer tasting on a stag do. I'm useless with names but the host was suitably nerdy about beer to satisfy the geeks (like me) and put up with plenty of nonsense from everyone else. Great range of styles covered, and good examples both Keg and Cask.

I know it's a beer place but they could have a wider variety of ciders. They have about 5 different flavours of Lilly's which is really sweet. Would prefer some other choices

Lovely and fabulously friendly staff we were a large group on a stag and some of the group needed, ahem, a certain amount of managing but the staff were marvellous. Food was great and they were really knowledgeable about the extensive beers on offer(including the bonkers carrot beer at £20 a pint…maybe swerve that one unless you have more money than sense). Best pub we went to all weekend (high praise indeed for Brighton). Top work guys❤️

On a cold, dark afternoon, this pub was a brilliant find with its wonderful choice of beers on tap, knowledgeable and friendly bar staff, warm surroundings and tasty food. I adored the Imperial Stout, a drink not widely available. We would really recommend this lovely place for anyone who loves choosing, drinking and talking about a range of local real ales. My husband was on a scooter and access was tricky as there was one moderate step at both of the pub's entrances. The kind barman helped us lift the scooter into the building. Perhaps a short ramp might be made available for other mobility-restricted customers?

Visited this place and the man behind the bar was super patient with our order. (Crofton). We asked to sample multiple IPA'S and he made sure to take his time. Not to mention the amazing smell of wood burning in the pub. Carried out a YOUTUBE review which was extremely popular. Authentic and amazing array of drafts. Don't miss out on the opportunity to visit. 10/10

Great cask & keg selection at premium prices. Dropped in there as the final stop of my day visit to Brighton in October. Tired of having walked up and down the hill (and up and down again, and again) during the day, I was happy to unwind at this "micro"pub in the early evening. The emphasis is very firmly on modern style keg beers, and there's plenty to choose from. About half the beers are in steady rotation, the other half are "keepers". There's a printed list available, with the ABV and style of each item included. Some of the beers are very expensive, think of UK 7 for a high ABV half-pint, or even a third. A little too expensive methinks, but Brighton is a tourist spot and prices along the Channel coast tend to be on the higher side of the spectrum anyway. It's a friendly place, with highly knowledgeable and welcoming staff, so I lingered for more than two hours and had a bite, too, one of their burgers (which was good and not too expensive). Beer wise, expect to spend at least UK6 and up on the regular ABV pints. I was in a bit of an agitated mood when I came there, due to problems with my vaping equipment, but the atmosphere made me calm down in due course. Good place altogether, and conveniently close to the station.

This is an excellent pub. A group of us had an amazing afternoon when we enjoyed a beer tasting session hosted by Ric. Who would have thought an afternoon on the lash could be educational too! The range of beers available are mind boggling, catering for every taste, style and price possible. The only thing left to say is thank you.

Far and away the best pub in Brighton (and beyond)! The bar staff really know their beer and have amazing stuff popping up on tap all the time. Lovely vibe, not pretentious at all despite the hip beers and area, and just a great place to enjoy a drink or two.

A great find in Brighton! A very friendly atmosphere and a superb roast dinner. Couldn't fault the food, drinks, service and price! Will definitely revisit when back in Brighton.

Fantastic selection of craft beers which are changed on a regular basis. Staff are clearly passionate about beer and extremely knowledgeable. Spirits selection is a little on the small side, but adequate and what one might expect from a more specialized craft beer pub. Overall, a very nice place to go and enjoy a beer.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff who are always ready to advise and give tasters. There is always a great selection for the beer connoisseur.

Booked in advance, seated when we arrived earlier. Table service was prompt but not overbearing but we were never without drink the whole night. All staff chilled, friendly and really accommodating. The food - wow!! Excellent home cokk burgers and chips with great taste. We are all still buzzing from how great a night we had in there and would defo return!! Highly recommended!!

Fair play to Craft Beer Co. Johnson has decimated the hospitality industry and these guys are doing their absolute best to offer quality beer under difficult circumstances. These tw*ts in government need to visit places like this to see how out of touch they really are. Great beers guys and nice bangers and fries.

Excellent Sunday roast. The turkey was lovely and moist and crispy crackling with the pork! The vegetables were perfectly cooked with plenty of variety, the 12 hour gravy rich and meaty, Yorkshire puds were fluffy and crispy. Well done chef! Brilliant service too, keeping the place clean and safe. Great choice of beers and football showing.

Hard to fault Craft outlets. I had a lovely killer barley wine followed be an equally lethal imperial stout. This branch even shows the football.
