Omgggg the food was absolutely scrumptious, in fact it was soooooooooo good I bought another one to take home!! Phenomenal customer service from Alice who reminded me and my niece of the Hollywood actress Mila Kunis because Alice is truly beautiful. Busy on weekends and quieter on weekdays, the Cow is a cosy pub with good Thai food. I went on a Tuesday night and really enjoyed the relaxed quiet vibes.

Lovely pub. Really easy going, never too loud or crammed, staff is chatty and friendly. Food is good too, small bites but tasty - on the pricier side for the amount of food you get, though. Pretty good range of beers and drinks, excellent mid week destination

Some of the best food and easily the best duck I have eaten. The dish was crispy duck with tamarind sauce over a bed of coconut rice (not in photo).The duck has a nice light batter too it and the duck itself was soft and tender. The sauce was sweet and tangy which worked really well to combine the dish. Overall, pricing is good for the portions and quality of the food is exceptional, great choice for vegetarians too.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the cow today 01/10/23. Food was very tasty and good portions. I had the pork which was delicious. My partner had the chicken. Which was amazing and so moist. Loved it. All of this and the friendly people who work here made for a lovely few hours. Well done everyone.

Empty place even on Sat afternoon. Beer served in poorly washed generic water glasses. Standard branded lager taste awful, watered down like. We left most of it on the table and went.

Great pub around seven dials -Brighton. During week days Thai food is served at very good prices. A few seats outside the entrance. We were a group and everyone order some food and it took a while but we were having good time so it didn’t matter much.

Good roast dinner with awesome beef. Portions a little small and had run out of horseradish and mustard. Tweak that and could have been really good. Staff were awesome and accommodating, Great tunes and cool decor. Both barmaids exceptional. Super helpful and personable with us and the young kids we had with us. Went to the Cow yesterday on way home. Hadn’t been here for many years, so long in fact that it was the Tin Drum then. Anyhows, walked into a cosy atmosphere, Airs moon safari album playing and good beers on tap. We was happy chappies. Good service, nice beer, lovely atmosphere-what more could you want on a chilly Monday evening? We will be back extremely soon. Nice bar. With no kids...made it even better!

We live nearby have eaten here a good few times before the re fit , the last roast on the Sunday was very disappointing so was looking forward to the re opening, the new look is good and regarding the previous comments regarding seating there are some really comfortable booths at the rear which is where we sat, unfortunately dead on 7pm the volume shot up and we couldn’t hear each other speak, there seems to one very large speaker above the top left booth. When I asked if it could go back down a bit I was told that they had to have it up to a certain volume at 7pm and they were very strict about it and we were welcome to sit somewhere else. Found a booth as far away as we could which was better but noticed the group who sat there next stayed 30 seconds and then move too. As for the Thai food is was really very good hence 4 stars

It’s a bit frustrating as a former regular here to write a bad review. But when you’ve been standing at the bar for nearly 10 minutes while the bartender switches barrels on two occasions and then, each time, people who showed up after you get served while you continue to be ignored, one takes it a little personally!

Decided to try to get a last min table for Sunday lunch and after trying 5 diff pubs managed to get a table at the cow. Food was great, we had beef, pork belly, chicken and lamb and all were first class. I'm guessing this place has recently changed hands and stepped up a notch or two...

The Cow is the best kept secret in Brighton. Situated just a short bus ride from Brighton Station, is the clean, friendly, pub. The pub is in Seven Dials and does great cocktails and lunches that are incredible. If you love Thai food then give it a go, I think it's one of the best in the city. The staff are friendly, effecient and care about their customers. My partner and I love this pub and we've introduced many friends to the great food. We will be returning in the not to distant future. Oh and it's dog friendly 🐶

Good smarter pub. Not the wildest draught beer selection but still ok and also Lucky Saint on tap.

Nice space. Was very quiet so did lose some atmosphere but had a couple of cocktails that weren't bad. Had some rosé which was nice. Staff friendly. They have thai menu. My meal was stir fry chicken veggies and rice. My friend had pad Thai and that was good.

Amazing ! Visited this week. What a gem of a place. Great attentive bar staff. So polite. It’s a very comfortable bar to sit in. Chilled music. Great selection of draught beer. They offer Thai food - so delicious and fresh and at a great price point we really didn’t expect such good quality. You can tell they love what they are doing and are passionate about the customer experience. Knowing the cost of living crisis has hit the industry they need a pat on the back and continued support. Fantastic and thanks.

Great Pub and good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Alas our Thai food was not so good. My friend's Green curry was watery and my Kao Pud was bland. We were having a lovely time and really didn't want to spoil things by moaning about the food quality. My friend , who has been to the Cow before said "That there must be a different chef tonight"!

Pleasant enough pub despite the absence of real ale, spacious and nicely decored. The Thai food was disappointing though. I had the Tom Yum noodles that came in a decent size bowl but only I got 2 prawns for the price. The soup was bland, lacking the usual Tom Yum kick of spice and I couldn't taste any lemongrass or lime. Instead of being clear it had the opaque look of being reheated. My first food here so I might have got unlucky but I always rate Thai kitchens by the quality of their Tom Yum and this was way off the mark. My friend's green curry was "unremarkable".

£6.25 for a pint of Guinness.! Is actually cheaper downtown. Avoid.

Lovely pub but rude staff, after having a meal at Thai pad Thai we decided to head to the cow for 1 pint before heading home, this was all good until we we’re accused of drinking wine from our bag (that our friend put on the table before she went to the toilet as she was leaving..)… we weren’t told politely we were threatened we would be kicked out rather rudely… we all had pints of Guinness in our hands and 1 of us had a glass of white she had been served at the bar… having just been to a BYOB restaurant for dinner we have left over dregs of wine in our bags which we obviously had no intent on drinking in a pub…

Loved the venue - it’s cool - only downside was very limited lunchtime menu. The food was delicious but very very very spicy so be warned.

The cow is a great pub for drinks but the Thai food isn't as good as it used to be. Opening up a Thai kitchen right opposite two Thai restaurants was risky business. The other day I had the Tom yum soup and it was just so bland. I think it's best to have a drink or two here and then move onto one of the the Thai restaurants opposite. The roasts used to be good here also but have turned out to be average. You also have to pay at the bar when ordering your food, something I prefer not to do.

Came for Sunday Lunch and had an amazing Roast! The staff were very friendly and the vibes were immaculate.

First time going to this pub after wanting to go to ages, and it was great! Staff were so lovely and great choice of drinks.

Nice atmosphere and great mulled cider. While the food has usually been nice, although last time I had to wait for the noodles and the beef got lukewarm in the meantime, which has negatively impacted the experience. As it felt like a one-time thing, I still recommend coming for drinks and more.

Always pleasant. A grown-up kind of place, with a good selection of drinks and a cracking Thai kitchen. A good line in bar staff too, today's pleasant smile really lifted my cheeky lunch break, thank you.

We are roast snobs and were looking for a last minute booking. Found one here and was pleasantly surprised! It was very nice, I had the pork belly which was yummy and although the chicken was a little dry all in all it was a very good roast and would definitely return. They do large children's portions too and have high chairs so children friendly. Cocktails are two for £15 too so can't go wrong.

Having lived in Brighton all my life I can confirm that every bar your current manger has worked in has been amazing. Clean with an exciting vibe and fabulous staff. A must go if in Brighton!!

Good bar for a drinks and tips maybe. I’m a tourist and I was looking for place to have fun and listen music and drinks. This place fitted well but as usual in London is expensive. Anyway if you just looking for a drink is good the staff is good too but nothing too special or very good.

Great vibe in here. Lovely crispy squid and tempura, generously sized gyoza too. Really love the interior, and staff are super nice. Beers are a little on the pricey side though! Generally a great place to eat and drink.

Only popped in here for a quick pre-dinner drink with some friends I was visiting. Disappointed that the only two hand-pulled ales they had were both not available. Wasn't keen on their range of pale ales, so resorted to Guinness. Not there long enough to comment on anything else.

Visited on Friday evening. Bar staff very poor. Had to wait while the bar staff were far too busy on their phones to serve a customer. It wasn't busy either and not surprised, with the poor service.

We booked for our family gathering over Sunday lunch, the roast was excellent, plenty of meat and loads of vegatables, all was very well cooked.

Best roast dinner I've had in a long time! They had run out of chicken by 2pm so I ordered beef. Got so much meat on my plate and the beef was so tender and really delicious. HUGE portion and far too much for me .. half the size would probably have been enough. Great veg too and lovely staff!

I was here on Saturday and I don't know why I haven't been here before. The girl serving could not have been friendlier they weren't busy but she didn't come across as bored or playing on her phone like some places. The food was reasonably priced and had decent sized portions. It tasted authenticity thai and I'm really looking forward to coming back! What a hidden gem!

I like The Cow. I've liked it since it's Tin Drum days. It's often quieter than I feel it should be, and in not sure why. Possibly its lack of a garden, especially on nice sunny days. We went for a roast for mother's day. We used to come for roast regularly, and it was our favourite but I believe the kitchen is different now. It's Thai food in the week, and roasts at the weekend. We were excited to be back. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the meat. It's possibly because we were an early sitting (12.30pm) and both the beef and the pork were a bit underdone for our liking. The pork belly had not crisped up (no crackling, just skin) and the fat hadn't cooked away. My mum had the beef and she struggled to cut it without a steak knife as it was so rare (and the kitchen didn't have any). The portion size of the meat was huge. Everything else was lovely, but when it comes to a roast the meat makes or breaks it. The staff as always were lovely and helpful and we will try return to try again.

Seems decent at first and willing to pay the extra that comes with a premium bar but the staff killed the vibe we’d built up through out the rest of Brighton. Treated like children and spoken to rudely by student staff. Very weird and very disappointed.

I have to say for a pub that do Thai food, this is probably one of my favourite place to go. Drinks is what you expected from a pub, nothing to complain. I’ve been here quite often just for the food really.

Booked a table for 5 people on a Thursday evening intending to have food and drinks, staff too busy drinking shots with their mates to acknowledge our arrival. No table reserved luckily a table was free but we soon realised why EVERYONE else was sat at the back of the restaurant, the noise from the bar area mainly from the staff and their friends was so loud we could hardly hear ourselves speak. The music volume was then increased at which point we put the menus down and decided to head elsewhere but decided to finish our drinks first. Drinking games with the bar staff that were supposed to be working continued jeered on from loud football style chants by their very drunk friends at 7pm on a Thursday!! (clearly been there all day) and the final straw was witnessing a member of staff sporting a sex toy strapped to her head downing a cocktail of some description ..we left our drinks and went to a neighbouring pub. Such a shame, this place used to be great for food, Summer drinks and used to do great Sunday Roasts and had great staff.... clearly the Management has changed and this place is heading in one direction, downhill. If you are over the age of 25 DON'T BOTHER you will not feel welcome, unless you are plastered and want to play drinking games with the staff.

bad air in this place it felt like there was no covid friendly ventilation at all and the place just smelt bad like a bad sewer. sorry and the front of house area has got to look very scruffy.
