First visit after dog walking on beach lovely spot looked nice and clean food was ok but served in bag and takeaway cups not massive issue but the staff jesus there in the wrong game in hospitality you need a smile and a few welcoming words with some pleasantries I gave a reluctant very generous 4 star need to up your game and not just take customers for granted without them you're jobless.

Top place to visit food really good very clean place ,dog friendly areas yep you have to pay car parking at £3 pounds for 3 hours but the beach lovely when tide is out the road up to the beach is a bit narrow but you can navigate that but it is really worth the journey.

This used to be one of our favourite places to have a breakfast, this was initially recommended to us by friends. Although this was the first time this year that we have visited. We were disappointed that they have stopped doing proper breakfasts and there weren’t any menus to peruse prior to ordering just a large board behind the tills which could cause a backlog and frustration for people queuing behind you. That being said, we stayed as we had travelled some distance to eat there and had a bacon butty. The food was cooked fresh but not what we were looking forward to. We will be telling our friends of our disappointment as they enjoy the Cowshed and also travel to it as a destination. The staff were friendly and helpful.and the scones look very tempting so we took some away with us. We have now found a new destination for our breakfast and will be going there in future.

Severely understaffed - one guy taking orders/making drinks/filling coffee machine/taking payment, whilst the queue is out the door on a Sunday lunchtime. Said guy has zero customer service skills and barely looks at his customers. This is a lovely venue, in a lovely place, they have no competition, so have the monopoly, and the resulting vibe is one of sheer indifference. Such a shame.

Wow what a shame - we drove to the cow shed to enjoy the surround and nice food we had experienced before ( it wasn’t that long ago) . No less for more seems to be the strategy - order and collect at counter, limited menu - all of which I could get over but my fried egg and cheese bap was not edible ! Nap not buttered and egg yolk ran out on my plate as I picked up the burger . My husbands was fractionally better . If you are going to do it - do it well or not at all. Keep this up and the decision will be made for you - disappointed as it’s not cheap either !

A beautiful building in a fantastic space, stunning view of the beach and all done in a modern sleek swt up. But shame the staff were not more customer friendly. Walked up to the counter to be met by a young man with a man bun, no hello what can I get you.. just yea.. no smile.. nothing. Asked for two teas and two pieces of cake, no interaction, grunted the price that was the end of our customer service! The cake was ok but got the impression it was from the day before, very dry and hard, thank god I had tea to wash it down!

This was a lovely cafe but it's now no longer worth a visit. I took my elderly mother who has Dementia and is partly sighted and 2 well behaved dogs. I requested some assistance to carry out a tray of coffee, as I am recovering from a recently broken ankle, and was told we 'don't do that', it was clear I was having difficulty walking. The cafe only had 3 tables that were occupied no one was queuing to order food, but the male server couldn't be bothered. I decided not to order coffee as I couldn't carry it. I wonder how a disabled person would have been treated. The meal was horrid, greasy and looked like it had been sat on, and was mostly thrown away. I have visited the cow shed many times since it was opened. The food and staff were always worth the visit. I can say that I will no longer visit this establishment the service and food quality and choice were poor. We will be bringing our own food to the beach in future.

Having stumbled upon the cow shed when we were visiting the very nearby beach, I was really surprised afterwards to find such a low scoring that if I had been actively looking for somewhere to go, the rating would have put me off. It’s a great little cafe with a basic and limited menu which includes the usual hot cafe fare. Very clean and dog friendly in all but the sofa sections. I really liked it and I would certainly return. Better than a chain cafe.

A real shame this is a lovely location. But the menu is so limited, now just offering sandwiches. No cooked breakfast just a variety of baps. Sausage, egg, bacon. A few panninis. Used to go quite often and loved the eggs Benedict etc. More like a bog standard cafe but a lot more expensive.

We've been here a few times after a long walk on the beach, and although we've always enjoyed their food the experience has been a bit slow. They've now changed the menu to simplify it, and you order at the counter and get a buzzer so you know when your food is ready, and everything is much more efficient and easier for the customers. I got a beef burger with cheese and fried onions. Was a good burger for the price. My wife got a bacon bap which was good, except they forgot to put any butter in! We also got a scone to take away and after eating it later in the day can confirm it was a very good scone. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Friends of ours have mentioned the Cow Shed and Fraisthorpe beach as a good place to go with our two little dogs. Plenty of beach for the doggoes to be exercised, and a good cafe which is dog friendly. We were almost put off by the poor reviews, but in the end decided to go with the most recent one, which was very positive. Valentine's Day was not great in terms of the weather, and after a beach walk, during which we got soaked, we were glad to return to the Cow Shed for lunch. You walk-in, find a table, then queue cafeteria style to order your food. The menu is cafeteria style too, with sandwiches, paninis, and some choices of hot food. When you place your order if it is hot food you're having, it is made to order and you are given a flashing pager which beeps you when your food is ready. I had a burger, which was very substantial, homemade, and extremerly tasty; my wife had a baked potato, which she said was just what she needed to put the warmth back after our soaking on the beach. During our meal we found ourselves unexpectedly on a table next to a guy who I hadn't seen for 12 years or more. My wife and I had just engaged in conversation with his wife about our dogs, when he came back to the table and recognised me straight away. In the course of the conversation I mentioned that this was our first time at Fraisthorpe Beach, and our first visit to the Cow Shed. What he said next maybe is a clue to why there are vastly different perceptions of the cafe in the reviews you're likely to read on TripAdvisor. He told me that under previous management it had been more of a restaurant, and though highly rated, it was not economically viable, and the owners found it difficult to attract staff. The new owners had adopted a pragmatic approach and had changed the ethos of the Cow Shed to be more like a cafe or cafeteria. My friend told me that it had not gone done so well with some of the people who remembered it as it was. I think we have to be objectove here. What we have is a well appointed and cosy beachside cafe which offers good value basic food to those that want it. On the day we were there people were grateful to be inside, but it was also clear that there are picnic tables for patrons outside, a terrace, and a whole set of tables for people who want to avail themselves of the take away service that the Cow Shed also offers. We thought it was great, and we look forward to going back on a nicer day...but the change in philosophy obviously works. The cafe was busy, despite the weather, many families with their children and pets occupied the tables, and I noticed that their was also an area for people who don't want to mix with dogs. I can imagine on a nice sunny and dry day, sitting outside with a great view of the sea will also be a very pleasant experience indeed.

Visited today, 7th Feb, not been since it’s changed management and was a bit nervous having read some of the previous reviews. However, we needn’t have been, there was a warm, relaxed friendly atmosphere. We had the roast beef and fried onion baguette which was delicious with a portion of chips. It was quite busy, lots of people walking dogs on the beach, but we didn’t have to wait long for our food and the staff were very pleasant. So pleased it has managed to re open.

We go to Bridlington several times a year and always make a point of going to the Cow Shed for a meal at least once during our visit, because it's a lovely place with excellent food, and reasonably priced (for the quality). This time however, what on earth has happened? The staff looked miserable and seemed like they would rather be somewhere else. The woman who served us seemed confused as to what an Americano was, and even more so with the request of an oat milk, decaf cappuccino, both of these were given to us in paper cups? I did ask if I could put my own milk in but this was refused. I had a sausage bap in a powdery bun and was given a buzzy disc thing which would alert me when it was ready so I could go up and get it myself - there is no service here now. When it was ready, there was nothing except the dusty bun and a couple of near cold sausages, no butter, no salad, nothing, not even a plate it was passed to me in a paper bag! My Wife had scone, cream and jam, or what is often referred to as a cream tea. She asked for some butter to go with it, but when we got to a table, she opened her paper bag - yes the cream tea was given to us in a paper bag!, and, no butter. When asked for a knife for the cream tea, we were given a wooden one, as there were no metal ones available. The cappuccino was tasteless, as if their idea of a decaf was not putting any coffee in it? My coffee tasted ok, but wasn't hot, and the scone tasted ok, but apart from that, the whole experience was very poor indeed, and over priced. We didn't clean our things away as was seemed to be expected of us as after using our paper bags as plates, they became bonded to the table which had a strange stickiness to it. So, no attempt at any form of presentation, no cutlery, no crockery, no service, and not even a hint of politeness. Still expensive though.

We came in today for a light lunch half way through a walk on the beach. When we arrived the cafe was very busy and the staff looked to be running around but even so we got an extremely warm welcome, prompt service and the...

Lovely hot sausage baps, scones with jam & cream and teas/coffees from the takeaway shed to the side of the main cafe. Just what was needed after a walk on the beach with the dog

This was after being recommended. Was very hopefully we’d found a new gem as it looks a great place with amazing sea views. Sadly we were left rather underwhelmed it just all felt very poorly organised. There were lots of staff but nobody really seeing...

This is a lovely place in a great location. We booked in advance to have breakfast and as others have said had to wait at a barrier when the indoor area was almost empty as we were there when it opened. It might have been...

We popped in on the off chance to see if there was a table after spending the afternoon on the beach. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, food was delicious and had a glorious sea view, Service was good too. Will definitely come again!

Been here a number of times, always thought it was a little overpriced but didn’t mind as food was always good and location is just perfect. Today was our second visit of the summer season and unlike last time we visited it was very quiet,...

What you think would be a lovely, inviting restaurant leaves you with a disappointing experience. We wanted a take out, walked up to the hut, it was closed. Went to the restaurant & was greeted by a barrier stopping you from actually entering the restaurant....

Would like to have left a review of the food but never got that far. We join a queue at the door with about 5 other families without reservations. We waited out turn (around 30 mins) to get a table. We were asked if we...

If I could rate food and service separately I would give 4/5 for the food but service and management just lets the whole place down. You get met at the door with a barrier and a notice saying please wait to be seated. That’s understandable...

The perfect place for refreshments after a bracing walk on the beach. Cooked breakfast exceptional. Service amazing, staff friendly. So sometimes it might be really busy, but surely instead of moaning about it, just enjoy the experience of being out and enjoying life. Thank you,...

Lovely food, quick visit would definitely return. The takeaway staff could have been friendlier but the staff inside were lovely. It would be lovely if the website was updated!!

Had to find a staff member to show us to our table. Seating upholstery stained. Floor had crumbs and debris on it around our table and surrounding tables. Salt and pepper pots sticky and unclean. Portions small, peas were dry and tasteless, tartar sauce was served in a chipped dish. No one checked meal quality until we had finished eating. Staff rushed off their feet. Waited 30 minutes for desert.

first few times the super steps breakfast was really good. Friendly staff good prices. Within the last few days went again but although the breakfast was the same size the addition of a 6" piece of human hair on the plate was off putting to say the least. Not going again

Nipped in for a beer whilst out shopping in Beverly. It's a little difficult to find as it's on the next street back from the market. It's a bit like Dr Who's Tardis, looks small from the outside, but it's not, its massive inside. Lots of the usual spoons drinks on offer, plus lots of real ales on the bear festival menu. Toilets were of course, upstairs!

Lovely food, friendly staff and fantastic views! Everything was beautiful! The staff were very kind and helpful in accommodating my awkward food habits! Definitely recommend anything on the breakfast menu (especially the £6 sandwich and drink deal). We visited twice and tried the scones the second time. Very tasty!
